"Gotchard wasn't Dark and is therefore a weak and mediocre show."

So this post is just me enumerating the dark plot points that have happened within Kamen Rider Gotchard.

Not arguing with anyone but I have noticed a common sentiment among the critics of Kamen Rider Gotchard and they almost always include how Gotchard wasn't engaging at all, because of the lack of stakes compared to the show it followed.

Everyone is free to respond through this post's reply section and add the dark storylines I missed.

Additional note: This won't include the events of Daybreak as it hasn't been released yet.

Houtaro, someone who has no knowledge of Alchemy as presented in the show, saw someone get melted in front of his eyes.

Sabimaru's body got hijacked and was forced to beat Houtaro black and blue against his will.

And the PTSD Sabimaru has experienced in the latter part of the show due to having been forced to beat up someone to the brink.

Spanner being forced to witness the death of his parents multiple times all in a bid for Glion's perfect chemistry.

The Zukyun storyline may have been presented as a lighthearted story but it's literally as dark as it can get with affection siphoning the energy out of affectionate.

Houtaro deciding to let Malgam Hopper-1 kill him on the off chance that Hopper-1 would calm down after his death.

Houtaro being forced to kill Hopper-1 because the chemy was hurting someone else other than Houtaro.

That's not to say the deaths of Skebows and Antrooper weren't dark because those were also dark.

Let's not forget how the three sisters were fridged.

First Skebows the previous episode...now both Antrooper AND most notably Hopper-1, TWO MORE CHEMIES IN THE SAME EPISODE NO LESS. God...Houtaro was already broken when he realized he murdered Skebows, (Even the more reserved Rinne can't help but be horrified seeing Houtaro so guilt-ridden and depressed) now he's even more broken when two more have to meet an unfortunate end with the one chemmy that's been with him since he was a kid he actually had to kill.

Skebows - Strike 1! Antrooper - Strike 2! Hopper-1 - STRIKE 3! (NOT TOO SOON AFTER STRIKE 2) HOUTARO'S FUCKING OUT!

Also, go ahead, make the "Gigist can go die in a ditch" tag and hell, feel free to type something worse. We all stan for it.

Gigist deserves to burn in the deepest pits of hell for what he did to the Chemmies 😭😭😭
