Underrated dynamic: Jay and Skales Jr.

I drew Skales Jr. based on this reaction pic of Lewis Hamilton. the story behind it is Skales Jr. is an upper classmen who is visiting the freshmen of the Ninja School, that the og ninja (now Senseis) made.

The leveling system of the school is separated into types of metals. Copper is freshmen, Iron is sophomore, Bronze for Junior and Silver for Seniors. While the color Gold is for all the Teachers.

ay. so a bit ago i was rereading your story "grass is always greener" and i've been wondering. with how often SJ visits Lil'Lloyd, dose King Movie Skales know about there being another ninjago? also. has he met show Garmudon? if so what dose he think of him?

i know it probably won't happen, but i just have this scene in my head of show skales and movie skales talking and movie skales asks "way couldn't i have your garmudon instead of mine?" and show skales just looks at him, then says "you can have him, so long as i don't get yours" (at this point i don't know if show skales has even seen garmudon since he's been cured from the devourers venom.)

also. do you plan on having sensei garmudon use his power at all? for literally anything?. asking cuz i don't remember even once seeing him use it in the show after he's cured.

also also. wondering. do you know anyone could talk to about a ninjago au idea i have? wondering cuz i've had this idea in my head for about a month and i really want to talk about it with someone to bounce ideas off of who actually knows ninjago and likes talking about it.

King Skales and Queen Selma know SJ has a lot of friends now, and some have similar names to each other, but they're unsure if SJ is exaggerating or not when he tells them about traveling to parallel worlds. For the sake of their own sanity, they tell themselves he just has an active imagination, and ignore that there were several extra but similar-looking Ninja at the battle against Golden Master Chen. More Ninja just means he's extra safe when he's out with his friends.

SJ: Hey, wanna trade?

Junior: I'll do you one better, why not take both.

I think Sensei G is avoiding using his powers due to a fear using them will corrupt him again, or something, or he considers them part of his vow to not touch another weapon. However, as with his vow of pacifism, he would likely be motivated to break that vow if properly motivated, and one of the Lloyds was in danger.

Sure, my brain is starting to shift off a Batfam obsession into a Sonic the Hedgehog obsession (not sure yet if it will stick or a passing interest), but I still like Ninjago and would be happy to talk about it.

The fun thing about making hybrid species OCs in DR is I can just say that different species have different aging cycles/lifespans and they an be any age I want. Like yeah this Serpent/Mucoid was born a year after the Merge and went through puberty at only 4 years old also he still has likeeee 41 years of his expected lifespan left to go. What about it?

Okay, so, this might be a VERY HOT TAKE but...

Do you ever think about Skales' kid Skales Jr. and his wife Selma??? Like, what happened to the little guy? And where is Selma now?

That was, until it hit me;What if SPITZ is the kid of Skales???

Like, you gotta hear me out for a second,,,,what if Selma died sometime after appearing (perhaps shortly before or durig Crystallized or something?) And Skales was so caught up in the grief, he completely ignored his own son who just lost his mother? Like, a similiar situation of Cole and his dad Lou perhaps!

So Skales Jr. ventures out, completely unnoticed by his own father and starts traversing the land

And he eventually, either before or after The Merge, he ends up in the Land of Lost Things, where he takes on the name Spitz because he doesnt want to be just a shadow of his father who neglected him???

I'll admit, this is a hot take and it could very well be that you see Skales Jr. and Selma in the last episode of crystallized and I was just too blind to see it, but- this would be super interesting to see, wouldn't it??? Especially with Cole having had a similiar situation and then helping and comforting Spitz and telling him about his dad!

Anyway, this thought just randomly hit me at 5 AM and I should go to sleep now, bye TAT

Just realized:

The age you think the ninjas have directly correlates to how much time you think that happened between S2 "Legacy of the Green Ninja" and S3 "Rebooted"

It is the only time gap (excluding the merge) where they don't tell you how much time has passed. You are either "I am suspending my belief, it was only a year/ a few months" or a "Skales jr exists... so 6 years minimum right?"

Also I'm not sure if Echo counts, but this is my art soooo... He does now

Fun fact, way before Dragons rising was an idea, I had a little theory/AU thingie, where the ninja got sent to another realm, where time passed differently. (How funny, it was way before SotFS...) So basically these kids formed a replacement ninja team to fight the evils treathening ninjago, discovering they themselves are elemental masters. And that's been in my brain, slowly adding all the new kiddos to it. Might make some art, and a post about that too, because I would love to draw them.

Here's my spitballing on these dummies and their designs.

The Darkleys kids!

The little shits. They would be the ones to have kidnapping as their first resolve.

- I kinda didn't know Sally existed, but I liked all the art, so she does now. Also, she loves pink, I love pink, we all love pink

- Brad is definitely the muscle of the group, with a big heart, but not the greatest mind. Also, he has a babyface, that's very hard to make look evil.

- His design kinda grew on me with time, but it still feels a bit lacking...

- There's this theory that Gene is Skylor's brother, and Chen's son, that I kinda absorbed into my brain and ran with it so yeah.

-Also, the hand thingie is not a glove, it helps hold his hand together after a nasty injury :)

- The bowlcut was uniform at Darkleys, but Gene was such a nightmare they just gave up with him.

- They have matching pins and earpieces. Cause of course they do. Also, dumbo boots uniform.

The Paperkids!

Antonia and Nelson are a given, and I just kinda added Unagami on there, since he waved at them once. Also, I think it would be cute if they were friends.

- I know he doesn't anymore, canonically, but I like to think he still wears his purple gi under the jumper. Who knows when someone will need the purple ninja?

- He has a scar from the injury he had when he met with the ninja. Also, am I the only one who tought something much worse was going on than a broken leg? Obviously a kid show can't have a terminally ill kid, but fsm that's still how I remembered it.

- Antonia! I loved drawing her hair. Also kinda like her badass big sis vibes.

- She has her hands out to make sure the two kids, but mainly Nelson, don't go missing somehow (happens more often than you think)

- Even if he can shapeshift, I like to tjink Unagami keeps his line-marks in whatever forms, since it's apart of his skin. He can hide them, but it takes effort, so he just doesn't bother.

- He can change his form generally, but you could still tell it's him by the lines, eyes, and hair

- He has a little nick in his eyebrow, and so does (did i guess) Jay. I just think that's a cute detail

The Forgotten ones...

Just called that cause I had to add them on a separate canvas after forgetting them. I forgot Skales Jr, shame on me, I tought Jake and Nelson were one character, and I was still debating Echo. But here they are!

- It was surprisingly not that hard to draw him, even tho I was very scared

- Since he has white on him, I was trying (and failing miserably) to replicate those partially albino reptiles. Also added some pink scales, since he is also Selma's son, who's pink.

- I don't know to this day why Echo was introduced only to be left behind.... Nevertheless he's a sweetheart

- I guess if you count Mr.E, but then he would be dead... Unless the kids fix him (lightbulb moment)

- Also, ahy is his head weirdly tiny? How did that happen?

- Jake. Goddamnit, how were you the hardest to draw? Somehow I couldn't get the head right...

- The giant pants is an idea that lived in my head. I like yo think he would be able to fix ancient artifacts with hairties, ductape, and sheer force of will.

- He might have a bowlcut, but cmon, are you telling me he wouldn't at least try to replicate whatever the hell Kai's hair was in the beginning?
