Grammy-nominated singer Halsey, known for chart-topping hits and unapologetic vulnerability, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a deeply personal revelation. In a series of videos and a heartfelt message, Halsey revealed a hidden battle with chronic illness and announced the creation of a new album inspired by this experience. Halsey Opens Up A Glimpse into Medical Struggles: Documenting a Journey The Instagram post featured a slideshow of videos, offering a glimpse into Halsey's medical journey. While the specific diagnosis remained undisclosed, the visuals depicted the singer-songwriter receiving medical treatments. One video captured Halsey massaging her legs, seemingly in pain, while expressing a desire to reclaim her health by the age of 30. This poignant statement resonated with fans, sparking an outpouring of support and well-wishes. Unveiling "The End": A Song of Resilience Halsey didn't just share her struggles; she also channeled them into artistic expression. Alongside the videos, she released a new song titled "The End," an acoustic ballad sung on an acoustic guitar. The raw and emotional lyrics hinted at her experience with illness, with lines like "Every couple of years now, a doctor says I'm sick" and "And at first, it was my brain, then a skeleton in pain." "The End" serves as the lead single for Halsey's upcoming fourth studio album, signifying a new creative chapter inspired by personal resilience. From Illness to Inspiration: A New Album Takes Shape In a powerful caption accompanying the post, Halsey encapsulated the essence of her experience: "Long story short, I'm lucky to be alive. Short story long, I wrote an album." This statement underscores the transformative power of art. Halsey's battle with illness fueled the creation of a new album, offering both a personal catharsis and a relatable experience for her fans. Philanthropic Efforts: Supporting Chronic Illness Research Halsey's announcement extended beyond personal revelation. The caption further stated her intention to donate proceeds from the new single "The End" to two organizations dedicated to chronic illness research: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance. This act of generosity highlights Halsey's commitment to raising awareness and supporting those battling similar health issues. A History of Openness: Navigating Chronic Illness This isn't the first time Halsey has spoken openly about her health. Previously diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren's syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), Halsey has used her platform to raise awareness about these chronic conditions. Her openness has fostered a sense of community and empowered others facing similar challenges. A New Chapter – Beyond Illness Halsey's message is one of resilience and hope. While acknowledging the difficulties of her health struggles, she expresses a determination to reclaim her life and enter a new era of well-being. Fans eagerly await the upcoming album, "The End," anticipating an artistic exploration of her journey and a powerful anthem of overcoming adversity.

Shout out to disabled people who are, ya know, existing with symptoms - whatever they may be. Who are exhausted/fatigued some (or all) days. Who are in pain. Who live in a world that doesn’t understand them, a world that isn’t built for them.
I hope you have the time to cuddle your favorite stuffed animal. I hope you watch an amazing episode of your favorite show. I hope you meet a doctor that smiles and sees you and works with you. Much love to you all.

My eyes are so red that I look like I've spent a weekend hanging out with Willie Nelson. I am allergic to Marijuana so please know I'm not a pothead. My hair was a mess! The day I took the pictures of my hair looking crazy, I made up my mind I had to do something about it. I decided to start my loc journey. The last picture was me at the salon after she had combed out all of the knots and locs that had formed after 3 months of me not doing anything to my hair. No one knew what was really lying under my forever ponytail/bun.
The reason I let my hair go like this for so long was because I have arthritis and doing my hair is a struggle. I got fed up with the process and just said whatever happens, happens. I stopped loving my hair which reflected how I felt about myself.
I am so glad that I made a decision to love myself and take care of my hair in a way that is more manageable.
Here's to a beautiful loc journey!

“So even though I understand the reasoning and I also want people to stay safe I can’t help but feel disappointed. It’s frustrating when you feel like waiting is all you ever do. — But today I’m going to be sad that I have a lot more waiting to do and tomorrow I will focus on the positive things again.” This is a couple lines from this newest blog post that I didn’t even plan on writing today after getting some frustrating news from pain management. https://katiesierra.blogspot.com/2020/06/how-much-longer_12.html?m=1 ________________________________________ #butyoudontlooksick #spoonie #chronicloveclub #sadsickgirls #sjogrenssyndrome #sjogrens #sjogrenswarrior #sjogrensawareness #rheumatoidarthritis #rheumatoidarthritiswarrior #chronicpainmemes #chronicpain #chronicillness #chronicpainwarrior #chronicpainsucks #chronicpainawareness #chronicillnesswarrior #chronicillnessawareness #juveniledegenerativediscdisease #degenerativediscdisease #spinalstenosis #backpain #backpainsucks (at Lexington, Kentucky) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBVdWMPnzm6/?igshid=9kly9nulwrsc

Soooo...... this is a big deal..... I just realized something. Yesterday I had a HUGE accomplishment.... I did my morning #swim but then jumped on the treadmill for a run. Running is physically hard for me. I grew up running but have not been able to do much in YEARS due to my #sjogrenssyndrome #autoimmunedisease .... however, over the past 4 months I have been slowly trying to run. It started with 1 mile then 2... BUT yesterday I was feeling good as I hit mile 4.... so I went for 5 and BOOM!!!! I realized in that moment that I CAN do THIS! And I will SUCCEED! I will do an #olympictriathlon AND it will be awesome! And just to recap.... this time last tear I was still barely able to move..... I started my workouts with 15 minute walking exercises in my living room.... now I can workout for 2 hours and I just ran 5 miles! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!! . . #triathleteintraining #running #cycling #swimming #autoimmunewarrior #icanandiwill #keepmovingforward #believe #thankyouGod #mortgagebroker https://www.instagram.com/p/B7GfubahVef/?igshid=hqvfr47wz410

March is National Autoimmune Awareness Month! "During March, AARDA hopes to educate the public on the top five things everyone should know about autoimmune disease: (1) 50 Million Americans have an autoimmune disease, comprising a major U.S. health crisis. (2) There are 100+ autoimmune diseases including Crohn's disease, celiac disease, rheumatoid arthritis, vasculitis, and Addison's disease. (3) Autoimmune diseases "cluster" in families; for example, if your grandmother had lupus, you could be at greater risk for developing an autoimmune disease. (4) Fewer than 13% of Americans can name an autoimmune disease. (5) Autoimmune diseases target women 75% more often than men; and combined, autoimmune diseases are one of the top ten killers of women under the age of 65." #CeliacDisease and #SjogrensSyndrome are the two main #autoimmunediseases I happen to have acquired over the years. Thank you #AARDA (@autoimmune_diseases) for all the helping to educate the public at large on this subject. #autoimmunewarrior #autoimmuneawareness #autoimmunediseaseawareness #autoimmunediseaseawarenessmonth #autoimmunewellness (at West New York, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpV8BjQvfos/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
