Hey, are you feeling salty about STAR WARS for no reason whatsoever, just totally happened randomly, and want some fic that reflects the Jedi Order of the movies and TCW? Ones that are novel-length time travel fix-its to really make yourself feel better? Then I have some ones that I've been reading and really enjoying! Because I think maybe we could all use a bunch of fic to get lost in over the weekend, just 'cause. STAR WARS TIME TRAVEL FIC RECS: ✦ there is no death ashkav, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & cal & quinlan & ocs & cast, time travel, 134.9k wip Darth Vader is a cataclysmic event, and Cal, delirious with pain, scrambles to catch the hilt of his saber as he begins to drag it out their corpses – and that’s what he and Cere are, corpses, with only a last few seconds of misfiring neurons left in them, no matter how much BD-1 trills and punches stim after stim into his arm – they are tipping past that point of no return now, and Cal needs to do something right now before it’s too late for – for what?
✦ Take it from the top and try again by mauvera, obi-wan & anakin & qui-gon & padme & mace & dooku & cast, time travel, 142.3k wip     Five years into his self imposed exile on Tattooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi is gifted the chance to go back and bring hope back to the galaxy. With hindsight on his side, he fully intends to save his master, save his padawan, make some new and old friends again, prepare the Jedi for a war they’ll hopefully never see and begin to pull apart all the many tangled threads of the Sith Lord’s plans. Should be relatively easy. Right?
✦ Let Go by Micillyn, qui-gon & obi-wan & anakin & padme & cast, time travel, 101.5k Qui-Gon did not expect to die on Naboo. Nor did he realise that by insisting for Anakin to be trained as a Jedi, the boy would one day fall and become Darth Vader. Foresight, it seems, did not confer the gift of infallibility, yet if it took all those tragedies to destroy the Sith and restore balance to the Force and hope to the galaxy, then perhaps it wasn't so bad after all. Or, the story as happened in the movies is the fix-it, and this is the story of the disaster that happened before the time-travel happened.
✦ a distant fire is burning by e_va, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & cal & cast, time travel, 47.4k wip Cal Kestis can move backwards in time (kinda-sorta-not really), and his confrontation with Darth Vader in the Fortress Inquisitorius plays out a lot differently. Fixing the timeline while stuck in his 10-year-old body will be quite the task, but Cal is up to it. He has to be.
✦ Reprise by Elfpen, obi-wan & anakin & qui-gon & mace & cast, time travel, 558.9k wip Ben Kenobi dies aboard the Death Star in the year 0 BBY. He wakes up shortly thereafter in the Jedi temple in the year 41 BBY. Haunted by memories and regret, Ben must forge a new path for himself in the Jedi Order of his youth while navigating the murky waters of time travel. Crafting a better future from bitter experience is hard, but learning to heal is even harder. Major AU.
✦ Unexpected Awakening (The Rewrite) by Rhiw, obi-wan & qui-gon & anakin & feemor & bruck & jango & cast, time travel, 135.1k wip     The life of General Kenobi is cut short at the hands of his Padawan, but the sight that greets his eyes upon awakening is not that of blinding light of the Force, but the Jedi Temple he knew when he was still a youth. As he struggles to understand the path laid out before him, Obi-Wan unwittingly captures the attention of a singularly unusual Temple Guard, and that of a reluctant Qui-Gon Jinn.
✦ Averting Galactic Destruction by kj_feybarn, obi-wan & anakin & quinlan & rex & cody & fives & dogma & wolffe & plo & shaak & dooku & sidious, time travel, 44.3k     AKA The Time the Force Sent Obi-Wan Back in Time and Quinlan Vos kept him from Going Kamikaze because let’s be Honest, Being Forced to Come Back in Time Would Suck.

Light rain pattered against the window, occasionally broken by a violent crack of lightning. They didn’t go together. The rain was barely more than a drizzle, one that children could dance in, but the lightning was fierce enough to make some adults cower in fear.
Ahsokah was neither an adult, nor a child. So instead of dancing or cowering, she studied. She’d found some interesting writings on meditation, and was trying her best to follow the steps. The soft rain helped her get into the zone, and the lighting was a good test of concentration.
One thing kept nagging at her. It had been quite a few days since she’d heard from you. Maybe you’d been found out, and Grievous had ordered that your conversations stop. There was another possibility, one she dreaded even more than the last. What if you had sunk even deeper into the dark side, and decided to cut off communication all on your own? You could be devotedly fighting against the Republic on some far-flung planet.
A peal of thunder rumbled outside, and she pulled herself back to her meditations. If you were countless parsecs away, there was nothing she could do.
Little did she know, the two of you were mere miles apart, and you were growing ever closer. Your hood stayed up over your head, concealing your face. With help from the Force, you managed to circumnavigate the security measures, and began ascending the side of the Temple.
When you reached the right window, you could see Ahsoka sitting there cross-legged on the floor, eyes closed, with a scroll unrolled in front of her. The lights were on, just enough to read by. It was shockingly sparse. Only a bed, low to the ground, and a small table.
Hesitating, you raised your fist to knock on the window. What if this was a mistake? You coming here could endanger Ahsoka, get her in trouble with the Jedi Council, kicked out, even.
But… You needed her right now. There was nowhere else to go, no one else who could understand. So, you lightly tapped your knuckles against the transparisteel.
Her head darted towards the unexpected sound at the window, and when she saw you, her face was filled with confusion. She said something you couldn’t hear, and when you tried to tell her as much, she motioned for you to wait.
Turning, she picked up one of her lightsabers, and drove it into the window. Within a moment, a circular chunk was missing.
“Y/n?” She said, just barely loud enough to be heard.
“Hey 'Soka.” You said, then promptly tumbled through the hole. She grabbed you a moment before you hit the floor, and helped you sit against the wall.
“What are you doing here?” She asked. “It’s not safe for you!”
“I… I didn’t know where else to go.” At that moment, Ahsoka noticed that blood was trickling down your neck.
“Maker, Y/n.” She said, pushing your cloak out of the way so she could see the cut. “How did this happen? Who did this?”
“I did.” You said. “I had to. Grievous had a tracker implanted in my neck.”
Once she had stopped the bleeding from your neck, Ahsoka’s eyes darted over the rest of you. Your clothes were dirty and wrinkled, like they hadn’t been washed in a few days. You had a few minor scrapes and bruises, but you were tired. Every breath took effort, and your eyes were filled with fear.
“Y/n,” Ahsoka started, “How are you going to get back to Grievous’s ship?”
“I’m not going back.” You said. “I can’t go back.”
“Well, I can’t hide you here.”
“Tano, I would never ask you to.”
“What do you suggest I do?” She asked.
“Turn me in.” You said, and Ahoska gave you an astonished look. “It’s the only way you don’t get in trouble with the Council, and I stay safe from the Sith.”
A moment passed, one in which the two of you just sat, inches apart, taking in the gravity of the situation.
“Can we just have a few more moments?” She finally asked.
“Of course, ‘Soka.”
When Ahsoka called for the guards, they clapped specially-crafted Mandalorian manacles onto your wrists, and brought you to the medic, who patched up the back of your neck. They locked you in a small cell until the Council could be assembled. Waiting there was the worst part. It gave you plenty of time to sit and reflect.
Ever since your encounter with Ahsoka at the ruined temple, the two of you would avoid each other on the battlefield. One night, you received an encrypted message. It was just one short question.
Why did you let me go?
And you replied with the simple, honest, answer.
I don’t know.
From that point on, you become each other's confidants. Strategic information was never shared, since the consequences of espionage were much worse than simply fraternizing with the enemy, but more personal matters– doubts, dreams, dreads– were all fair game. Because of this, Ahsoka knew things about you that you wouldn’t dare tell anyone else and vice versa.
She first suggested you join the Jedi a few months after you started talking. Deep down, you knew what the Sith were doing wasn’t right, but years of conditioning and propaganda with just enough truth sprinkled in was hard to break away from. So you declined her offer.
Again, when you were stranded on a planet with her, she brought up the idea. She even suggested you could fake your death and go back to the Temple with her. It was tempting, and she had convinced you that the Sith were doing more harm than good. Ultimately, the idea didn’t pan out.
You were pulled out of your reminiscing when the guards came to escort you to the Council Chamber. The twelve Jedi Masters were seated in a circle, and you were guided to the middle.
“Y/n y/l/n.” Began a man with dark skin and a bald head. “We know you are a Separatist, and the apprentice of General Grievous. You have fought against the Republic and the Jedi Order for years, taking down waves of our troops and foiling countless missions. Today you are brought before the Council in a strange turn of events including but not limited to breaking into the Jedi Temple.”
“Your side,” Said a short shriveled green man, “You now must tell us.”
“I was a Separatist,” You said, “But I have turned against Grievous and the entirety of the dark side of the force. I wish to study at the Jedi Temple, but I understand you have your reservations, and that it is a real possibility that I will spend the rest of my days in a cell.
“For now, the CIS are unaware that I have defected, but when they do figure it out, they will hunt me down. I have only one request: Wherever you lock me up, make sure it has the best of security.”
“We will see.” The bald man said. “We have further questions. Why did you go to Ahsoka Tano?”
“She and I met before, during multiple battles.” You replied simply, casting a glance towards the door, where Ahsoka was standing with her master Anakin. “And I felt that our similarity in age would help me gain her trust.”
The questioning went on for a little while longer, until, satisfied with your answers, the green man spoke.
“A moment we must have,” He said, “To discuss. Back to your cell, you will go. Call you we will, when a decision we have reached.”
On your way out, you exchanged the briefest of glances with Ahsoka. A look of thanks passed between the two of you, like Ahsoka was grateful you did not bring up your secret correspondence.
Not too long later, you were called back to the Council Chamber.
“It has been decided that you will be welcomed into the Order,” Said the bald jedi, who you learned was Mace Windu. “You will live here, and be trained in the light side of the force.”
“Thank you!” You said, a smile spreading across your face.
“Padawan Tano and Master Kenobi, you should thank.” Said Yoda. “Spoke on your behalf, they did.”
“Understand that there are caveats to this agreement.” Master Windu continued, “You will stay on the Temple grounds with supervision at all times. You will not be allowed access to your lightsabers, or communication to anyone outside the Temple.”
“Of course,” Obi Wan jumped in, “You will also provide us with any and all future CIS plans.”
“Of course.” You nodded, just happy they weren’t shipping you off to a prison planet, or executing you here and now. Once the rules were all laid out, they had the guards show you to your room. It was as bare as Ahsoka’s, except it was equipped with a security camera, and the windows were too small to fit through.
A short time later, Ahsoka joined you. She brought some robes and some scrolls for you, along with dinner.
“Honestly,” She said as the two of you sat cross legged on the floor, “I was surprised they let you in.”
“Me too.” You said, scooping up a bite from your bowl. “I thought the whole ‘fighting against you all in a war’ thing would’ve given them a bit more pause.”
“Yes, that,” Ahsoka agreed, “But also, you’re really old.”
“Excuse me?” You raised an eyebrow at her. “I am, like, a few months older than you at most.”
“I know that, Y/n,” She scoffed, “What I meant is that Anakin is one of the oldest people they’ve agreed to train, and even then there were some grumblings about it.”
“Well,” You shrugged, “They already agreed. Can’t go back now!” You had another bite. “How old was Anakin? I can’t be that much older.”
“He was nine.”
“Oh.”
Ahsoka left to go to bed, but said she’d be back in the morning to take you to breakfast and show you around the Temple.
“I’ve got a few day’s shore leave,” She said as she was leaving, “But after that I’ve gotta keep kicking Separatist butt.”
True to her word, the next morning she was in your room right as you finished getting dressed.
“Do you know where I should put these?” You said, holding up your old Sith robes. The red and black patterning stood out harshly against the soft neutral colors of the room.
“The laundry basket’s in the closet.” She said, nodding her head in its direction. “Let’s go, we’re burning daylight here. The sun’s been up for nearly a half hour! By the time we get to the Refectory, all the good food’s gonna be gone.”
Just as Ahsoka predicted, there was no good food left. After breakfast – which wasn’t all that bad – Ahsoka brought you to a quiet, dimly lit room, then left. Inside was a small group of people, mostly children, seated in a circle around an older Jedi.
She beckoned you to an empty cushion on the ground, and briefly explained that they were practicing silent meditation, and that the goal was to completely quiet your mind and body.
One of the conditions of your staying here was getting some training to combat the Sith teachings, so here you were, meditating cross-legged with a class of children. The silence sank into your bones, at first you tried to fight it, but when it eventually settled, you found yourself with a strange sense of peace.
You did as the instructor said, and whenever a thought or feeling entered your mind you acknowledged it, and let it drift away. For a moment you felt the anger and pain drift away, too. It was like a weight had been eased off your mind.
But when your concentration wavered, the weight settled on you once more.
After meditation the older Jedi led your group to the refectory. Ahsoka met up with you there. In the afternoon neither you nor Ahsoka had any obligations, so you spent it in the gardens. There, you saw a Jedi digging through the dirt holding a plant with wide heart-shaped leaves. The edges faded to green, while the rest was a pleasing pinkish red.
“Oh hello!” Said the Jedi, straightening up from his work, “Have you come to help out in the garden?”
“Uh…” You glanced at Ahsoka, unsure what to say.
“We would love to.” She said. So that afternoon was spent working peacefully in the garden. The Jedi you were working with was old, like your meditation instructor. He had the odd tendency to be silent for many minutes, state something completely out of the blue, and immediately go back to silence.
“Gardening used to be a popular activity among the Jedi.” He said, “Everyone from Younglings to geezers like me would be up here, digging through the dirt.” He said wistfully, “But that was before the war. Now we’ve got children out there fighting. It’s just us old folks holding down the fort here. Keeping the Younglings learning and such. You two are the only teenagers I’ve seen around here in a long time.”
“I will be here for a while.” You said, “If that’s any consolation.”
“Hm.” He grunted, and pleasant silence descended again.
And so went your days. Dinners with Ahsoka cross-legged on the floor, classes in restraining anger, teaching morality, and afternoons in the gardens, and weekly check-ins with the Jedi Council. You were still getting into the groove of things, when one night Ahsoka told you she had to leave.
“Wait what?” You asked, nearly choking on the bite of food in your mouth, “Already? It’s only been a few days!”
“I know,” Ahsoka said, “I know, but this war still needs fighting.”
“Do you at least know when you’ll be back?” You asked, eyes downcast and voice full of sadness.
“No.” Ahsoka saw the look in your eyes, she continued, “But your information has been invaluable. We’re winning, Y/n. The end is in sight. Soon no one will have to fight.”
“Yeah.” You said. “That’s… Comforting I guess. I just wish that I could talk to you, while you’re gone.”
“We could ask the Council to make an exception to the ‘no outside contact’ rule,” She suggested, “Say that you need someone your age to talk to.”
“That might work,” You said, “I’ll still miss you though.”
“I know. I’ll miss you, too.”
You were granted permission to talk with Ahsoka while she was gone. Nothing about her locations or missions, and they read all your messages before sending them, but it meant you got to preserve the friendship.
When she finally returned, it was like you were a different person. You happily wore the brown robes, tended the gardens, meditated, and lived without fear. The lessons you had been taught were sinking in, and the peace that came with them washed over every aspect of your life.
The moment she got back, Ahsoka started looking for you. She found you in the gardens, watering and digging. Your entire demeanor had shifted. You carried yourself like you knew you belonged, and yet humbly. You dutifully attended to your work, and Ahsoka felt more at peace simply being in the same room as you.
“Y/n.” She said. You poked your head up from the bushes, and smiled at her.
“Hey Tano.” You said, brushing your hands off against your robe and standing up, “I’m glad to see you again.”
The two of you walked through the Temple together, talking for hours.
“You…” She started, “I’ve only been gone a few weeks, but you seem so different now. Happier.”
“That’s because I am.” You said, “Happier, that is. I’m finally discovering peace.”
“Good.” She smiled at you, “Because you deserve it.”
The night before Ahsoka left again, she brought you dinner.
“Hey Y/n.” She said, holding a greasy bag up, “I brought you some food from Dex’s, since refectory food is all nutrition, hold the flavor.” Just like that first night, you sat on the floor of your room, and talked late into the night.
“Imma miss you.” You said as Ahsoka was just about to step through the door.
“I know,” Ahsoka paused, “But I have some good news. My friend Barriss Offee’s gonna be here for a bit. I think you’ll like her.”
And sure enough, you and Barriss hit it off. She was a little older than Ahsoka, and was able to give you some guidance. She often joined you in the garden, or for meditation.
She was interested in your swap from the Seperatist’s side, perhaps a little too interested. She often asked about what you were taught as a Sith, which made you uncomfortable. Whenever that came up you steered the conversation away.
It was probably just her naturally investigative personality. That's another thing you liked about her, she was smart. You could point to any plant, painting, or carving in the Temple and she knew something interesting about it.
Occasionally, she would share her doubts about the Order with you. It reminded you of your secret correspondence with Ahsoka, back before you joined the Jedi, so you indulged her. Her concerns were similar to those Ahsoka had, mostly centered around the war, but they were different. These weren't just lamentations that the world was messed up and the Jedi Order needed reform, they were more like subtle hints that the Order itself was the problem.
It was almost like she was probing you to see if you shared these beliefs. You brushed it off the first few times, but as the hints became less subtle, and her ideas less like ideas and more like plans, you resolved to tell the Council at your next weekly check in. It was just a few days away. In the meantime, you compiled all the worrying things you’d heard Barriss say so you could show them to the Council.
The day finally came, and as you walked down the hall to the Council Chamber, you had your head buried in a tablet, going over what Barriss said one last time. You tucked it away just before entering the room.
It was dark. The room was empty, except for one man lurking in the shadows. He stepped forward, and you saw it was Obi-Wan.
“They thought it would be better if you heard it from me,” he said. You were close with Obi-Wan, and often sought him out for advice. He stuck up for you during the Council’s private discussion, since he truly believed in you.
“Master Kenobi,” You said, “Is everything okay? Where are the other Masters? Is Ahsoka in trouble–”
“No,” He interrupted, “She’s fine. I’m here to return these to you.” He opened a small box, which contained your Sith robes. They seemed familiar and yet out of place. Just a relic of a part of your life that was long gone.
“Why would I need these?” You asked. Kenoi stayed silent. Searching for an answer, you looked at his face. His eyes were filled with regret and resolve.
“I’m so sorry.” He said.
“Why would I need these?” You asked again, voice more serious.
“You are part of a prisoner exchange.”
“No.” You shook your head, “No, I can’t go back. I’m not going back! They’ll kill me! Master Kenobi please-”
“They don’t know you defected.” He said, once again interrupting you.
“Then where do they think I was?” You questioned.
“As far as they know, you were imprisoned by the Republic.”
“How is this fair?” You spat, “I betrayed the CIS, the Sith, and everyone I used to know for a chance at joining the Order, and this is how it repays me? By manipulating me to get all the information it needed and then sending me back to the very same evils I fled?
“The Jedi Council never manipulated you.” Obi-Wan said, his voice infuriatingly serene and steady.
“Really?” You scoffed. “You imprisoned me, and didn’t even bother to let me know. I trusted you.”
Your voice lowered to barely above a horse whisper.
“You let me believe I had a future here.”
“I thought you did, too.” He said, “I’m sorry.”
“Can I at least say goodbye?” You asked after a moment of silence. Tears started to gather in the corners of your eyes, but you blinked them away.
“No.” He replied. “We have to leave now.”
You nodded, and followed him to a transport shuttle. It took about a day of travel to get to the exchange point. First you took a small shuttle, then a larger ship, a landing pod, and finally you rode on the back of Cody’s speeder. The whole time you didn’t utter a single word.
It was a remote planet. Just farms with little to no strategic value. You were wearing your Sith robes once more, and your arms were shackled behind you to align with your ‘prisoner of war’ story. You’d gotten there before Grievous, so you leaned against the bike while the clones and Obi-Wan sent out snipers to stay hidden in the surrounding hills’ shrubbery. The long grass rippled in the slight breeze, and the sun beat down. A few wispy clouds drifted lazily across the sky as the minutes ticked by.
After what felt like an eternity of waiting, the CIS finally showed up. Their speeders kicked up a storm of dust, which could be seen from miles away, even with the rolling hills. They slid to a halt on the other edge of a dusty clearing in perfect formation; Grievous at the center, flanked by a v shape of commando droids.
The metallic General dismounted, pulled a tied-up Jedi from the back of his bike, and shoved him to a droid. Cody started to grab your arm to lead you forward, but you shoved him off of you and affixed a look of disdain to your face.
Back when you first met him, this attitude would have come naturally, but now, after learning empathy, you actually felt bad for the clones. They didn’t ask to be soldiers. They never had a choice. But you couldn’t think about that right now. You had to keep up the guise of a disgruntled young Sith, complete with eye-rolling and sneers.
Cody walked you halfway across the patch of dusty ground while a droid brought over the captured Jedi. After confirming that the Jedi was alright, Cody signaled to Obi-Wan, and the exchange was confirmed. Before you left, Cody passed you a box containing your lightsabers. As you were rushed to the Separatist speeders, you dared to cast a final glance back at the Republic forces.
They were too busy welcoming their returned friend to even look at you.
“Each time you find yourself scooped up by the Republic reflects poorly on me.” Grievous continued berating you as the commando droids loaded the bikes onto the shuttle. “Have you learned nothing? When will you stop allowing yourself to be snatched by these pieces of Republic scum?”
“Those reflections are deserved!” You spat back. “You seem to forget that it is your job to teach me to fight. Instead you’re too busy chasing down Kenobi for some personal feud that he doesn’t even seem to know (much less care) about.”
Those words hung in the air for a moment.
“Ha.” He laughed hollowly, “Perhaps you have learned something.” He then climbed into the shuttle. You knew he expected you to follow, but you could tell your emotions were reaching a boiling point. Instead of thinking about leaving Ahsoka without saying goodbye, or how the council betrayed you, you changed the sadness into blind rage.
The wood of a nearby tree splintered as though an invisible hand crushed it. You looked at your hands, squeezed into fists so tight that your nails broke the skin, and realized that had been you. You had unintentionally channeled the Force. Slowly, you loosened your fists, and a few splinters fell away from the tree trunk.
From that day on, anger would be your fuel, and it would serve you well.

Dissecting Tales of the Empire (Barriss stuff)
So let's break down all the Barriss stuff in the trailer:
There's an Inquisitor Shuttle approaching Our - likely after she is freed from prison
When Barriss is freed from her cell
This little bit is actually quite interesting. First of all Barriss is wearing a prison symbol with the emblem of the Jedi Order on the shoulder.
The clone troopers are Republic Shock Troopers, The Coruscant guard.
Fourth Sister is actually wearing Jedi robes not an Inquisitor uniform, she's already fallen to the Dark side as evidenced by the eyes.
This is suggesting that Barriss is freed from somewhat close to the end of Revenge of Sith
Also the framing of Barriss in prison is very similar to Luminara's hologram in Rebels.
Barriss's eyes are really blue in this scene. Like more so than other ones.
Barriss walking down a hallway
Pretty self explanatory. She's walking down a hallway. She's wearing Robes that a likely Inquisitorius initiate robes. (Or maybe it wasn't Laundry day and Barriss's uniform wasn't ready)
The Clones are just Regs in Phase 2 armour. It looks like Fortress Inquisitorius on Nur.
Speculation: Barriss is giving a little side glance, she's either taking her environment or she's plotting something.
The Grand Inquisitor scene
When then see the Grand Inquisitor leading Barriss into a room with several lightsabers
None of the Lightsabers are Luminara's (Trust me i double checked Weapon's Factory.) They are most likely reused models and generic sabres - because animation and props design is hard and short cuts should be taken whenever you can.
.....but two of those lightsabers are very close to Barriss's lightsaber.
The one in the middle doesn't seem to hold a significance (The bottom of the hilt slightly resembles Ahsoka's Padawan lightsaber, and you could go Green symbolic of Luminara.)
....wouldn't it be just awful if its Tutso Mara's lightsaber?
Inquisitor and Barriss have a sparring session, he tries to get her to use Anger and slams her into the roof, she's noticeably angry.
"Mercy only breeds defeat, i will help you overcome this weakness."
This line is interesting because it's not the usual only your Hatred can strike me down line, the Grand Inquisitor is actually being polite and offering a twisted form of assistance.
Which brings me to a thought - The Grand Inquisitor was right beside Barriss during her big confession at Ahsoka's trial, he's probably going to see her as someone that they don't have to break or torture.
Fourth Sister using Spinning Lightsaber
So this is a very short sequence. The Fourth Sister is in an area with a Rock wall, jumps down, glances around nervously, spins her blade and looks up.
Speculation: Something hasn't gone to plan, maybe the Jedi later in trailer is tougher, or maybe someone else has swapped sides...
The Jedi Fight
This shot opens with Barriss in a proper Inquisitor Uniform and her own useless spinning lightsaber running towards Fourth Sister and an unknown Jedi with a blue Saber
During the fight we can see ITS NOT LUMINARA, this Jedi has a different facial structure, skin tone and likely human.
We can also see who i assume is Barriss looking like she is hesitating on what to do.
We then cut to a different seen of a hooded figure using the force to blow away B2 Super Battle Droids. This implies its during the clone wars and the hooded figure is very likely Barriss cause that silhouette is very similar.
The figure is illuminated by a white glow and it's probably a part of sequence meant to show Barriss before she went nuts - cause its been 11 years so new viewers might not know this character who only appeared in technically 7 eps at most is...
FIGHT TO THE DEATH
Fight to death between Barriss and an unknown initiate.
Grand Inquisitor throws a lightsaber between the two - no its not Barriss's lightsaber
Ray shields go up. Initiate who i'm calling Glup, goes for the Saber. The crystal has been bled so it's red.
Glup and Barriss fight and Barriss goes for the sky high kick or possibly punch to the head.
THE NEW MASTER
'it is time to meet your new Master."
This implies the initiates don't meet Vader until they're full members.
We see Barriss lined up with the other Inquisitors - she's in full uniform. Really hard to tell if her eyes are dark side yellow or not. (They still look Blue compared to Fourth's)
Also it's really funny to me that she's lined up with Bird face Inquisitor, Marrok and Fourth Sister, cause everyone said all of those Inquisitors was Barriss Offee.
They all kneel, Barriss goes down first.
Vader walks past and Barriss looks up slightly and watches him...and she immediately frowns and furrows her eyebrows.
She's plotting something....
Interesting note: Since bird face is alive and has his head perfectly attached to his neck still, This places Barriss's eps of Tales of the Empire prior to Ahsoka's last ep of Tales of the Jedi
Look i can hope for Barriss to escape and then we seen the back of Ahsoka walk into frame....

Mace Windu and the Disaster Couple | Oneshot Humor and Fluff Obikin | Rating: T | Words: 1350
Summary: Mace Windu has had enough. The two biggest idiots in the galaxy and their shatterpoints have given him far too many headaches, so he decides to take some actions and decides to fuck the Code and bring balance to the Force in his own special way.
Based off the stick figure comic I made. I'm so not an artist, but the muse hit HARD. Many thanks to @to-proudly-go and @tideswept for alphaing this story with me and giving me some excellent ideas! Extra thanks to Tideswept for betaing this as well!
Mace Windu grimaced as he felt the onset of yet another headache -- his fifth one of the day.
It started with only seeing shatterpoints around Anakin. When the boy was knighted, the shatterpoints expanded to Obi-Wan. His mild headaches were now so severe that he felt like someone was pounding his head with a hammer that had kriffing rainbow-coloured lights on its handle. It was all those idiots' fault that Mace had a scowl on his face all the time now. Qui-Gon was bad enough when they were younger, for his friend also had a lot of shatterpoints, but Obi-Wan and Anakin were utter hell in comparison.
For the past year, the shatterpoints around them had grown brilliant. The fault lines in the Force used to only twinkle softly at him as they let him know gently of their importance like the stars in the night skies. Now? It was a kriffing supernova at every single point in the fault line as if the lights were now on a mission to blind him permanently and give him non-stop headaches.
It was bad when they brought him nausea; it was worse when he couldn't sleep or meditate.
This was why, as Kit Fisto kindly pointed out to him, he now carried a scowl everywhere he went and caused everyone to scurry away from him.
One day, he decided to focus on those bright shatterpoints. Through his headaches and nausea, he concentrated on what he could sense from them. Yes, the future was always in motion, but with them being so kriffing dazzling, surely he could glean something from them.
The only thing he managed to figure out was that the Force wanted Obi-Wan and Anakin to be together -- not as friends, not as the Team, but together. In that way. The way that went against everything in the Code. The way that brought naughty, unwanted images that made him want to bleach his eyes and brain. The image of Anakin on his back moaning prettily, as Obi-Wan slammed into him at a pace that surely put Anakin's speeder driving to shame was one he needed to erase immediately.
Sith's hell, Mace also needed a stiff drink or ten.
Not too long after, when both Obi-Wan and Anakin had returned to the Temple, Mace quietly observed them from a distance. His discerning eyes didn't miss the adoring gazes Anakin cast Obi-Wan's way, especially when the older man praised him. In conjunction, he caught the fond look in Obi-Wan's eyes while Anakin would coach Ahsoka in sparring techniques. Most especially, he didn't miss their longing, hungry expressions they'd give each other when the other wasn't looking.
It was . . . sweet, he supposed. But still nauseating.
These two idiots are not subtle. At all. If we offered dramatic arts here at the Temple, they would both fail, full stop.
The looks were bad enough. But then came their bickerings that reminded Mace of married couples who'd been together for years. Sometimes they bickered about their upcoming assignments. Other times, they bantered about the stupidest things in the whole galaxy. Case in point, he overheard them arguing about whether a cheese could taste green or whichever colour it came in.
For the love of all things in the Force, how the kark could anyone taste colour? And green cheese sounded quite inedible.
He wanted nothing more than to hit both of them with that hammer and its rainbow-coloured handle.
A few days later, as he was walking down the hallways, he heard their familiar voices. Unsurprisingly, they were bickering yet again about another topic -- something about blue milk tasting different from purple milk.
However, he stopped listening as he felt severe pounding on the right side of his head. He swallowed back bile as his stomach churned intensely. The shatterpoints attacked him for the tenth time that day, even more worse now that the two idiots were nearby. Gritting his teeth and scrunching his forehead, he brought his hands to his head and let out a loud angry breath as he felt something snap inside of him.
He stalked around the bend and saw that the storage room at the end of the hallway was open. Without warning, he used the Force to push and shove the two men into the room, completely ignoring their surprised squawks (Obi-Wan) and indignant shouts (Anakin). He didn't miss the smirk from Anakin, nor the "what the Force" look from Obi-Wan. At this point, he simply didn't care. Once they were inside, with a wave of his hand, he slammed the door shut and locked it.
"Enough is enough! You two motherfuckers will stay in there until you two idiots kiss! I'm sick of your bullshit!"
Kriffing hell. I just projected my distant relative, Essel Jaksun.
Instead of feeling shame at losing his temper and using Essel Jaksun's favourite profanity, Mace felt instant relief as he felt the shatterpoints beginning to dim from their immense brightness. A sense of tranquillity he'd not felt in ages came over him, and he took several deep breaths as he reached into the Force for some more of that peace he'd been missing.
When he looked at the closed door, Obi-Wan and Anakin's love glittered through the Force. As if he'd developed x-ray vision, he knew that the two were finally kissing. The Force felt just right as it blessed the two. Before he could relax, though, that love he sensed turned heated, radiating so much pleasure that he felt like his own self would burn from their intense feelings.
Mace decided to strategically retreat.
He did not need be here. After all, it was the perfect time to invoke the "see no evil, hear no evil, and smell speak no evil".
*****
Six months later . . .
Obi-Wan and Anakin were getting married, which Mace wasn't surprised about. What shocked him and nearly made him fall into one of the many fountains in the Room of a Thousand Fountains was when they asked him to be his best man, with Ahsoka as their maid of honour.
So shocked, that Mace once again projected Essel Jaksun. " . . . Are you motherfuckers for real?"
"Mace!" Obi-Wan chided.
"Aw, come on, Master -- I kind of like it when he goes into that mode. That profanity actually suits him," Anakin said with a smirk.
Mace took a deep breath before he could wipe that smirk off the very annoying motherfucking Chosen One. "Apologies."
There was a long silence before Obi-Wan said, "Do you accept?"
"Wouldn't someone like Vos or Plo be a better option?"
Anakin shrugged and announced in that aggravating sassy way of his, "They could be, but you're the one who brought us together. Don't tell me you forgot that storage room incident?"
"Anakin!" Obi-Wan exclaimed as he blushed hard.
"Come on, Master," Anakin retorted with a sulky expression. "It's the truth."
Before the two could get on with their infamous banter, Mace quickly interjected, "I'd be honoured."
"Excellent, my dear friend," Obi-Wan said with a pleased smile.
Mace didn't miss the soppy look from Anakin, and he quickly made another strategic retreat, but not without missing the joyful twinkling he saw in the shatterpoints.
This was why, when the Council started to complain about Obi-Wan and Anakin and their breaking of the Code, Mace unintentionally projected Essel Jaksun one more time.
"Man, fuck the motherfucking Code this one fucking time."
Everyone stared at him, and Mace just sat there and studied his fingernails, completely uncaring of anything at this point.
"Ignore, we shall," Yoda announced.
And that was the end of that. The wedding was beautiful, and if he shed a tear or two during the speeches, nobody dared say anything for fear of Mace channelling Essel Jaksun. Distant relative aside, Mace had unknowingly saved the galaxy, and it was all thanks to the shatterpoints that had made him suffer for years.

Note
Vader's "disability" was entirely the result of his own actions. Being disabled is NOT the same as being a good person.
I could give you a really long and detailed answer that debunks what you are saying, but that isn't what you are getting, with this ask, that is quite frankly one of most ableist things, that I have ever read.
Rewatch the movies, because you don't understand them.
Anakin had a disability long before he became a Sith, and did lots of good then. in fact, his arm made him stronger.
Vader did shit but he was not wholly responsible for what happened on Mustafar. Negotiator couldn't negotioate.
Please Explain how the PTSD, CPTSD, the psychotic breakdown and the arm he lost, all prior to becoming Vader, are his fault without sounding like the ableist jerk that this ask makes you sound like.
Before Mustafar he had Child PTSD from being a slave, PTSD from the clone wars, he'd lost his arm to Dooku, he almost lost an eye to Ventress, he had a whole dissociative, psychotic episode. There's the many times he's been concussed. There's the reliving of his childhood trauma in Zygerria. There's the Morti.s trauma of quite literally watching Ahsoka die right before his eyes. There's the dozens of soldiers he's watched die
He did tons of things that were wrong in his time but it doesn't make him less disabled and bringing something like that into this makes you horribly ableist.

Let's fix Star Wars!!
(I said at the start of the summer and wrote nearly 100k.) (It needed a lot of fixing ok.)
Tumblr media
Here is a fix-it fanfic but it's for three series and the entire sequel trilogy. I will be posting about this more because I am determined to finish it soon (and then redraft it wooo!).
Description:
Somehow, Darth Maul returns. (As a force ghost.) (Somewhere Ahsoka thinks is probably the living Force.)
This changes everything.
In other words: The Mandalorian S3 but make it Din/Luke; the Ahsoka series but make it EZRA AND THRAWN SPACE ADVENTURES; and ‘somehow Palpatine returns’ is ripped to shreds because I connect plot points and add new characters.
Chapter excerpts below!
Chapter 1 excerpt:
“Not as far as I remember. Oh, wait! I wanted to rule the galaxy… shame.” He rolls his shoulders again. “Can’t do much about that now. Being dead is quite demotivating.” “I’m sorry for your lack of motivation.” “Don’t make fun, Lady Tano. Have sympathy for this poor, dead, ex-Sith.” “I guess 'dead' is your only personality trait now.” “You preferred me before?” Ahsoka grimaces. She can’t argue with that. “No, sorry." “I will be honest,” Maul says, “I haven’t felt this peaceful since before I lost the lower half of my body.” Ahsoka fixes him with a reproving look. "You were Palpatine's apprentice then." “Yes.” Maul sighs wistfully, chin sinking into his hand. Ahsoka rubs her eyes. Maul has already given her a headache and they've only been talking for a minute. There is still nothing but darkness and flickering light, and Maul’s steady, yellow eyes. “Do you know where you are?” Ahsoka asks. “Why should I help you figure this out? You didn’t help me once. Also, in case I haven’t made it abundantly clear, I’m dead, so I don’t care what happens to you or anyone else who is still alive. Some of us aren’t so lucky, you know?” "If we figure this out, maybe I'll get peace. I really don't want you as a voice in my head." Maul grimaces. “B’ahor,” he mutters. “In the Al'har system?” "There is a dark power on that planet… I sense evil, but also… something else." His eyes burn. "Perhaps you will go there and die. That would solve this problem quickly."
Chapter 2 excerpt:
“What was that?” Mayan asks as they hurry towards the mountain. “That feeling… the…” “The Force,” says Ahsoka. “The Force exists all around us. It is created by all living things, it moves through them, and it binds the whole galaxy together.” “How do you know about it?” “I was trained as a Jedi.” Ahsoka is surprised when her face remains impassive. There is no flicker of recognition, no spark of awe in her eyes. She just nods. “In my village, people like that are called world breakers.” “There are more of you?” “There were.” Mayan looks away. “The legends say that world breakers can take a planet in their hand and shatter it.” “That's... impossible,” Ahsoka says. She wonders why she had never considered that remote planets may have different legends about the Force. “According to the stories, we are children of the Great Universe. If we follow its will, it will guide us... That's how it used to be.” Ahsoka means to ask if there is more to these legends, but Mayan comes to a halt suddenly and points to the rock face in front of them. “This is where the curse is,” says the girl. “Yes.” Ahsoka can sense it too. This is where the Force has been leading them. It reeks of Sith and of evil. Something terrible must have happened here.
Chapter 4 excerpt:
Fleeing vehicles kick up a cloud of dust, and Luke jumps up onto the roof of the adjacent building, crouching close in preparation to drop down. Sweat licks the back of his neck. For a stupid moment he thinks how this is the complete wrong time of day to be out, when both suns are high in the sky. Then he leaps. There isn’t even time to be annoyed as the roller-wheeler careers around the corner. “Peli, I told you to keep him inside!” “He wanted to see his dad!” Peli screams. Luke sends Grogu a withering look. The little guy sticks his tongue out from where he is held securely in the Mandalorian’s arms. “I am so sorry,” says the Mandalorian. Luke doesn’t even know where to start. “It’s alright, can you hang on to him?” The roller-wheeler jolts suddenly, and Grogu squeals in what’s probably excitement. “Yeah, but you can’t get through their shield with your lightsaber. I tried with mine.” “Ok.” Luke tugs the vehicle slightly to adjust its course. “We’re gonna have to talk about why you have a lightsaber later.” He senses annoyance from the helmet. “Did you kill a Jedi?” “Won it from Moff Gideon.” “You defeated Moff Gideon?” “Watch it.” The Mandalorian blasts a Pyke who was aiming for Luke from the top of a building. “Good shot.” The Mandalorian nods. Next thing they know, a Pyke has taken out the droid, and Luke somersaults off the roller-wheeler before it flips. He plants his feet in the ground and catches the vehicles momentum that everyone lands relatively unscathed. The Mandalorian caught Grogu immediately, so Luke draws them towards him, until his hand meets bescar. “Nice catch,” says the Mandalorian. Luke grins. “Is Grogu ok?” Grogu pops up over the Mandalorian’s shoulder. He’s a little shaken, but a smile breaks across his face when he sees Luke. Peli spits out a tooth from where she’s lying.
Chapter 5 excerpt:
“We’re even,” Boba decides. He makes a hand gesture for the blue liquor, which Fennec tosses to him with a roll of her eyes. Boba places his helmet beside him on the seat and takes a swing, acid-scarred face regarding him cooly. Luke bows respectfully. “Thanks a bunch.” Boba waves an arm dismissively. “Go see the little green guy.” He turns to leave, but Boba isn’t done. He comments, offhandedly, “I thought you would’ve gotten a few more scars since the last time I saw you.” Luke turns, puzzled. “Why?” “Haven’t you been Jedi-ing?” “Jedi-ing...” “Saving the galaxy.” “We... I did that.” “What about Tatooine?” Luke’s smile falters. “Tch. ∂ι’кυтℓα נєтιιѕє.” “What's that s'posed to mean?” “It means I don’t like you.” “He called the Jedi useless,” says Ahsoka. Luke meets her eyes, trying to stifle the burn in his skin. Ahsoka clears her throat. “We’ve been gone a long time.” “That’s why I want to rebuild what was lost.” Ahsoka looks at him for a long moment. “I know.”
Chapter 6 excerpt:
“σяιтѕιя!” Koska yells. “Bo-Katan Kryze!” Bo-Katan’s eyes widen, she drops her gaze and breathes softly. “Stop yelling.” “You… you…” Koska clenches her fists. “иιвяαℓ! αяυєт!” She kicks the metal desk, exclaiming incoherencies. Bo-Katan shakes her head. “What do you want me to do?” She sits back, hands out. “I don’t have any way to unite our people, and Mandalore is inhabited by a clan of psychos.” Koska’s lip trembles, but she bites it down. “We were going to follow you. We were going to get our home back,” her voice cracks. “Don’t tell me it’s all over now. After everything we’ve been through to get here.” “Mandalore, and my legacy, is dead,” Bo-Katan seethes. “Even with the darksaber, would we be able to subdue, or, live alongside that… Clan куяαу¢, knowing what they did to Mandalore?” “Just get the darksaber from him!” Koska says. “If you get it our clan will stop kriffing falling apart and we can take them down.” Bo-Katan slumps into her hand. “This is why we fell apart in the first place. We fought each other instead of the Empire. It’s not a path I am willing to go down.” “The others are,” Koska states. Bo-Katan looks up. “And they will,” Koska continues, eyes hard. “That’s why you need to decide what to do now before they decide for you, and we end up going down a path of self-destruction. While they’ll still listen to you, choose.”
Chapter 8 excerpt:
Ahsoka clenches her jaw. “Maul,” she grits out, “what did you do?” “Em, an… indoctrination ceremony? It was mostly just for fun,” he assures her. “Ezra thought it would be fun.” “You indoctrinated him into your clan?” “That’s…” Maul blinks. “Yes. He could be considered a son of Dathomir.” “And that’s why the night sister magic took him to Dathomir.” Ahsoka groans. “Well, this was a complete waste of time! Now I have to deal with Thrawn and get out of here somehow.” Maul nods, as though that had been his plan all along. “How long has it been since they returned from the unknown regions?” he asks. “I don’t know.” “Find out,” insists Maul. “Spending too long on Dathomir with the spirits of the night sisters… would not be advisable.” Ahsoka narrows her eyes. “How so?” “They will attempt to resurrect, using whatever means they can get their hands on. I wouldn’t be surprised if they sacrifice his mortal body to gain strength to cross back over into the physical world.” “Are they immortal?” “They are… like Force ghosts that can absorb energy. With enough energy, they can reconstruct themselves, piece by piece, until all they are lacking is a physical body. They will need many sacrifices to resurrect fully.” “Hold on… could you resurrect?” “I would prefer not to,” Maul says simply. Ahsoka’s eyes widen. “Okay… why?” “Haven’t you asked enough personal questions?” he snaps. “Leave. I’m busy trying to wallow in misery.” “Sure, okay.” Ahsoka shrugs. “But if you want to talk about it—” “I said go,” Maul hisses.
Chapter 9 excerpt:
The smaller tunnel winds further down, deeper into the centre of the planet. There’s the slightest movement in the air, vibration, and Luke recognises the energy of life forces and stops walking suddenly. “There are… people down here,” he says. Din casts him a dubious helmet tilt, and they continue until it is unmistakable. Voices echo through the tunnels, many, it seems, perhaps a covert worth. “Do you wanna go say hello?” Luke asks. “Perhaps they can help us find the living waters.” The tunnel breaks off into several other small passageways. This close, Luke can pick out the soft glow of light, and he gestures for Din to switch his torch off. When he does, they are plunged into darkness, but gradually, Luke’s eyes adjust to the light, and he leads Din by the arm towards the light and the voices. The voices hush suddenly. Luke pauses, he wonders if they should stop, go back, maybe confront these people somewhere they have more of an advantage. But Din steps past him, leaving Grogu in Luke’s arms. “тισи’¢υу?” “иι αℓιιт мαи∂σ.” “иυ тισи’αℓιιт ѕσℓυѕ?” “иαу¢… αѕн’α∂.” “к’σℓαя.” Din steps into the room. Luke follows after him. Inside the large cave, is a group of Mandalorians. One of them stands abruptly, blaster raised. “тισи’ѕσℓєт?” he barks. “єни,” Din responds. “тισи’ναιι?” Din reaches for Grogu, and takes him into his arms. “иєя ιк’αα∂. иι куя'тαуℓ gαι ѕα’α∂,” he says. The Mandalorian stares at them for a moment, then sighs raggedly, and sinks back onto the rock. The others in his group relax, but keep their eyes fixed on the newcomers. Their armour is in a state of disrepair, some of it clearly salvaged from the ruins. Some wear their helmets while others do not. The faces that Luke can see are pale and gaunt, as though they haven’t seen the sunlight in a long time and their torn clothes hang off their body in a way that makes Luke think of skeletons. “Do you speak basic?” Din asks. “We haven’t,” the Mandalorian says harshly, “since a long time.” His eyes are dark, hooded, his hair matted and entirely grey. “We are looking for the living waters,” Din explains. “Do you know how to get there?”
Chapter 10 excerpt:
Mayan has gotten better at interpreting binary speech, but she’s not quite there yet. It takes her a moment to figure out what the little beeps mean as she stuffs some out-of-date rations into a makeshift pack. “Um… we’re going to rescue Ahsoka.” R2 spins excitedly. Then he stops and says, “…. --- .--?" “I don’t know how.” Mayan ties her boots. “By now, the blue man will think we’ve gone, so we can surprise him, right?” R2 whistles uncertainly. “Well… there’s no other choice.” Mayan grips the lightsaber in her hand. “You said Luke can’t come… so…” R2 bumps into her as she walks towards the ladder. “Ow, that was my toe.” Mayan groans. “What is it?” “-.. .- -. --. . .-. --- ..- …!” “I know it’s dangerous. You didn’t want Luke to come because he’s an important Jedi, right?” Mayan squeezes past him. “If the blue man finds him it’d be bad, so it’s better if I rescue her.” R2 whistles a sad note again. Mayan clambers up the ladder one-armed, her other arm tucked into a sling under her cloak. It’s completely useless. She doesn’t know how bad the break was, but since it happened, the skin has gone from red to purple — the edges faintly green. If she tries to use it, a sharp pain stabs through her. The town is quiet this early — even the fruit vendors haven’t opened their stalls yet. Mayan sneaks around the side of the blown-up house, pulling her cloak over her feathered hair. She gestures for R2 to follow. She thinks if she can get to the mountain again, she can… well, she doesn’t really know. Mayan has always been good at getting out of dangerous situations, not getting into them. Maybe R2 can come up with a plan. “This is hopeless,” Mayan decides. They sit within viewing distance of the tall mountain base, hidden in a valley of rocks. “--. --- ……. -… .- -.-. -.-?” R2 suggests. Mayan rubs the wrinkly skin of her fingers. “I don’t want to give up, but I don’t know how to get in, or where she is. I’ve never even seen a prison before.” She pulls her knees up to her chest. “I don’t know why Ahsoka even believes in me at all.” “… -.- -.-- ……. .. … ……. .- -- .- --.. .. -. —.!” Mayan smiles a little. 'Sky is amazing,' R2 said. It’s nice that he gave her a nickname after she said she wanted one like Ahsoka had as a padawan.
Chapter 11 excerpt:
Their arrival must have caused a minor uproar. A dozen Mandalorians watch from every hallway Luke glances down. They are all blue, presumably Bo-Katan’s people, and they don’t seem happy. They are brought into a large hall, where spear-shaped windows bite into the ceiling, and white crystal casts a steady light over the room. A long carpet leads to a throne that resembles a hardened splash of lava, and on it, sits Bo-Katan. She’s really got the throne thing down, maybe even as much as Boba Fett. Luke would not mess with either of them unless absolutely necessary purely based on their throne demeanour. “What the kirff are you doing,” Bo-Katan says. She doesn’t yell, just sounds exasperated, maybe even exhausted. “I’m taking you up on the offer to join you.” Bo-Katan looks at him. Her amber eyes narrow, and she gets up, and makes her way towards them. “You’re too late now,” she says. Her expression touches on cold rage. “I’m barely holding this together as it is. With the arrival of your covert, things have only gotten worse.” “Mandalore is habitable,” Din says. “There are other Mandalorians already living there.” “The clans on Mandalore are belligerent and mad,” Bo-Katan snaps. “And the Empire has eyes on the planet. With the numbers we have, staging anything with only attract attention and get us all killed.”
Chapter 12 excerpt:
“You have redeemed yourself?” asks the Armourer. “I have,” says Din. The intense blue of the forge reflects off both of their helmets and the heat dusts Luke’s cheeks with warmth. “And you have acquired another foundling…” The Armourer’s tone shifts to something decidedly less serious and more akin to amusement. “What is the name of this child?” “Kymir,” Din says. “Kymir, do you wish to join our covert?” the Armourer asks the boy. Kymir looks from Din to the Armourer, brows furrowing. “He doesn’t speak basic,” Din says. “Kymir, тιαи’¢σρααиιя тσ αℓιιт?” he translates. Kymir bites his lip. “иαу¢,” he says. Luke infers that his answer is no. Din looks at the Armourer. “He has had a bad experience with his covert. He will not trust easily.” “Without a covert, he will have no protection.” “I will watch over him.” “At this time, you are also in need of protection,” says the Armourer, lightly. “You were almost killed this morning.”
Chapter 13 excerpt:
“Ahsoka? Ahsoka!” Mayan shakes Ahsoka’s shoulders, but her master doesn’t stir. She holds her face and tries to somehow will her awake with the force, but nothing seems to work. Her eyes remain closed, eyelids twitching minutely every few seconds. “Is she alright?” Leia asks, crouching by the broken tree Ahsoka rests against. “I think so… she goes into deep sleeps sometimes. I don’t really know what…” Mayan hugs her arms. “Um, is the Falcon okay?” “Ships fine,” Han says, an edge of annoyance in his tone, as he walks over to them. “But Ahsoka better wake up soon so I can ask her what in the hell just happened.” “We went through a portal,” Mayan says. Han squints. “How d’you know that?” “I’m a Jedi padawan…” Han throws his hands in the air. “Not another one! Come on, Chewy,” he says, “let’s go help Sabine get the engine started like normal people. Damn Jedi…force portals…” he mutters. R2 beeps in a pattern that Mayan recognises as a laugh as Han stalks off. “I hope Ahsoka wakes up soon…” Mayan says, mostly to herself, though Leia is still beside her. “Yes, well,” Leia starts, “we need to get back home. This was meant to be a drop-off, not another adventure.”
Chapter 16 excerpt:
“Come with me to Mandalore,” Din says. “But I don’t think I’m supposed to do that.” “Do you want to?” “Yes.” Luke glances at him from over his shoulder. “But I can’t,” he says. “I’m a Jedi, I have to follow the will of the force.” Din is silent for a long time, and Luke wonders if the conversation is over. But finally, he speaks. “I understand.” Luke huffs dubiously. “Really?” “Yes,” Din says. “I know what it’s like to be told that something that feels right is somehow wrong.” Luke’s stomach twists. Nothing feels right. Nothing. He let the force guide him here and now the force is telling him it’s time to leave. What if Din and Grogu still need him? He’s almost certain they do. But the galaxy needs him too. Perhaps his responsibilities lie elsewhere, maybe he got caught up in his emotions and mistook this for being the right thing. The problem is, Luke doesn’t know. The uncertainty makes him afraid. (Jedi should not be afraid.) He remembers his vision in the mythosaur lair and his throat tightens until he can barely speak. (Fear clouds one’s judgement.) “I can’t choose you,” Luke whispers, and a laugh catches in his through. “I can never choose you. Can you really tell me you understand that?” Din brings a hand up to his helmet. “I don’t know.” Luke stands up and catches his wrist. “Don’t,” he says. “I can’t let you give up your creed for me when I wouldn’t do the same for you.” Din’s hand falls. Luke stares into the dark visor, feeling further from his eyes than ever. The words of Obi-Wan’s Force-ghost echo in his head. “Had she said the word, I would have left the Jedi Order to be by her side.” “I’m sorry,” Luke says and lets go of his wrist. He steps back, gaze falling to the floor. If he wasn’t among the last Jedi… if the fate of the galaxy didn’t rest on his shoulders… But the Jedi are gone. Palpatine and Vader made sure of that. And now Luke has to spend his life paying for his father’s mistakes.
Chapter 18 excerpt:
“Leia, I don’t like this.” Luke tries not to squirm in his seat. If he had no appetite for the fancy Coruscant food before he certainly doesn’t now. “A Moff, after a force-sensitive child, working with a cloner? What the kriff were they doing?” “He might just have been after him because he was force sensitive and you know how the Empire felt about the Jedi.” “I wish I’d asked Din about this! I’m such an idiot.” “Who’s Din?” “Never mind. Okay, I’ve got to find out what Pershing was doing for Moff Gideon. I have a seriously bad feeling —” “Okay,” Leia says. “I trust your judgement. Are you finished? Let’s go speak to them.” Luke’s stomach swoops. “What?” “Sorry, farm-boy. Sneaking around isn’t how we learn things on Coruscant. You’ve got to play the game.” “What game?” “Politics, Luke.” “Oh great.”
Chapter 19 excerpt
“Good. I’m going down. Kymir and I can reach them fastest. Once we know where the creature lives we can go with a small group and rescue Ragnar.” Bo-Katan narrows her eyes, searching his visor for something to reassure herself. Din’s stomach drops when he realises that she’s desperately searching for his eyes. He touches her shoulder instead. “Keep them together,” he says, nodding in the direction of the others who are still reeling from the shock of the attack, some badly wounded. Bo-Katan sighs. “That’s what I’ve been doing for years, Din.” She shakes her head. “Let me wrap your arm. Take some more painkillers or you won’t be able to think when you’re down there. You might still lose the arm the way it is now.” Din stares at her. “Yeah, okay,” he says. “Okay?” Bo-Katan squints, winding the bandage around his arm which is thoroughly smothered in bacta. “I think you mean fuck.” “Fuck,” Din says. “It’s fine. I still have another arm.”
“∂ιи ∂נαяιи נσя иєя’вυιя נιι.” Din Djarin is… my… Din grabs a wall to steady himself. The words bounce around his helmet and his ears ache. He shuts his eyes, tries to focus on the words through the pain. They’re the important thing. “σяι’νσ∂ вυяк’у¢. ναιι’уαιм ∂яαgσи?” My friend is in danger. Where is the dragon’s home? “куяαмℓα.” He’s dead. “иυ ∂яααя!” Not never! “кумιя, уαιм’σℓ.” Kymir, come home. Din steps out to stand beside him. He tries to stand straight. He pulls out the darksaber with his good hand. “gαα’тαуℓιя,” he says, and ignites the blade. Help me. For a moment, nobody moves. Then, somebody asks, “ιвι¢… иι ¢єтα?” Will this… redeem us? Din looks at Kymir. Understanding wells in his eyes. "Do you forgive them?" “иααѕα∂ мι’ѕυя’нααι,” says Kymir. Not in my eyes. Din nods. Good. “мєн’gαα’тαуℓιя, нιвιяαя gαя иι ¢єтα.” If you help us, you may learn to forgive yourselves.
Grogu frowns in concentration. He peers out of the window, ignoring the computer completely, but his hand shifts on the stick and suddenly his eyes widen and he presses the button down. It hits the dragon and the creature screeches in agony, twisting up into the sky to escape from the onslaught. “Mu?” Grogu turns to Din. “Uh, lucky shot,” Din says. “I wouldn’t shoot without aiming first, kid. Wait, actually… can you use your Jedi stuff to aim? Is that what you’re doing?” Okay. What would Luke say? Something like… “In that case, just focus, and… listen to the — is it called the Force? Yeah, listen to the Force.” Grogu snorts. “What? Wouldn’t I make a good Jedi?” Din smiles, but Grogu can’t see it.
The guns bombard the remaining dragons with enough firepower to essentially obliterate them, and litter their scaly corpses across the ground. Boba-Fett lands his ship with a whoosh of hot air. Din stares as he lowers the landing ramp and marches towards him, Fennec following closely. “Thought you could use a hand,” says the gruff voice. Din tries to speak but his legs decide to give out. “Woah, there.” Boba keeps him upright with a firm hand on his shoulder. “Let’s get you inside, Manda’lor,” he says. “Someone oughta throw you in a bacta tank,” says Fennec. “We don’t have a bacta tank.” Bo-Katan scowls from the cave entrance. “What are you doing here, Fett?” “I heard there was a get-together on Mandalore. Someone must’ve missed my invitation.”
Chapter 20 excerpt:
The magic tethering her to Dathomir tugs sharply on her wrist as she falls again into the familiar darkness. And then stops. Ahsoka can hear her breaths this time, sharp and cutting, and she scrambles to her feet, searching for — “You…” “Get away from him,” Ahsoka snarls. Leia’s lightsaber ignites with a burst of blue. Palpatine, or whatever’s left of him, has found them. His dark cloak drowns his physical form, making him almost impossible to discern from the flickering darkness, if it wasn’t for the ghastly, misshapen white of his face. Yellow eyes melt through the darkness, and grey lips stretch in a triumphant gleam. “He is of no more importance,” Palpatine snarls. Maul’s body twitches in the air, hands grasping desperately at his throat. “Let him go,” Ahsoka says. “S-sever our dyad,” Maul gasps. “Don’t let… don’t let him…” Ahsoka rips her arm free of the green string. “No!” Maul cries. Now there is no going back. “I will not leave you with him.”
“Grand Admiral, Sir, permission to speak freely?” “Permission granted, commodore Faro. You know I always value your input.” “Well, Sir, we’re kriffed.”
Chapter 25 excerpt:
“Thrawn,” Eli starts, looking into his red eyes, “y’know I—” The security feed beeps. Eli’s eyes widen when he sees Ezra waving up at the camera from the supply room. Eli clicks the comms. “Um, Ezra, wha’d’ya think you’re doing there? Actually, how’d you even get on board?” “Space portals!” “Right. I see.” Eli rubs his forehead. This is going to be a long day. “You need anythin’?” “You won’t believe what happened down there,” Ezra practically yells. “Anyway, I need the key now because we’re locking Dathomir so this doesn’t ever happen again, then we’re all jumping through a space portal to you guys. Is that alright?” “Sure. See ya in a bit.” “Excellent,” says Thrawn. He turns to Eli. “What were you going to say?” Eli sighs. “Moment’s gone. Alright, let’s get this data ready for Ezra-kid to look at.”

Rebels on the Run

Chapter Four
Chapter Six
Chapter Five
Swirls of faint light dance in the vast darkness of your mind. Whispers fill your ears as you try to listen and make out what they’re saying. Their colors differ, although you can assume what they mean. Blue and green are the jedi that are still pure, grey are those that walk the line between the light and dark, and red are sith and fallen jedi. Some are flickering, indicating that they might be faltering in their ways.
There are four lights that stand out to you; two red, one blue, and one grey. Anakin, Tayah, Obi Wan, and Ahsoka. They travel different paths, and none of them lead to each other. Part of you wants to find each of them, but you know that you have more important matters at hand.
One matter is how to get off of Ryloth. Nothing has been working out for you, and your hope is starting to wane. Although, you keep your morale up when Howzer is around, as you don’t want to worry him.
Another matter is how to keep the two of you hidden once you’re off the planet. Dohbar likely will be a safe place for the two of you to stay, but you haven’t raised that question to Howzer yet. Plus, you haven’t been a ‘thing’ for long. You don’t even know what you really are. That’s a third matter, figuring out where you stand and what, if anything, is your label.
The fourth matter is Howzer’s aging. You want him to be able to live as long as he’d like, even though you’re not quite sure how long that is. A Kaminoan scientist had been working on Dohbar to come up with a sort of treatment to slow down the aging process for your battalion, but seeing as they were lost to the Empire, they no longer require it.
All this, plus little worries, have now replaced the lights of force users as stars in your mind. The big problems glow the brightest while the smaller ones twinkle softly. You let out a soft sigh in your meditation, blowing away all the issues and focusing on one.
A hand caresses your cheek and you open your eyes slightly before closing them again and leaning into Howzer’s touch. His breath is warm on your nose as he places a gentle kiss there, then one on each cheek, making you giggle. You open your eyes to playfully pout, causing him to chuckle in response. “I know you were busy meditating,” he says, placing a kiss on your forehead now, “but we should get going to the city before it’s too late.”
“About that…” you say, letting your fingers intertwine with his as he sits next to you, “I was thinking we could stay in the hotel tonight. I miss having an actual mattress instead of sleeping on stone. Plus, we’re already going there, so might as well make the most of it.”
“We could do that,” he agrees, “but I still think we should head out soon.”
“Why? You got a hot date or something?” you tease, nudging him in the side.
“Yes, the one by my side,” he replies with a smirk, “but also something else. I’m expecting a comm, that’s why I want to go to the hotel. I was able to use an old comm channel last time I was scouting. I reached an old friend of mine and we decided to do another transmission because I asked him to find some stuff out for me. He said he and some others might be able to help us get off of Ryloth, and soon!” he says, excitement building in his smile, “Just think, y/n, we can leave and never have to take another step into sand again! Wouldn’t that be great?” His smile is wide and expectant, but you don’t feel the same way as him. A silence fills the space between you as you sit and process his words. Your grip is tight on his hand, and concern starts to flood Howzer. “Y/n? Is everything alright?”
You close your eyes, taking a deep breath before finally responding. “I know you’re trying to help,” you say slowly, “but using comms…it’s dangerous, Howzer. Especially if you use channels that the Empire might be able to listen in on.”
“There’s no way they could have, it’s an old channel that only clones ever used.”
“And how many clones have security based jobs for the Empire?” you counter, “someone could have heard you.”
“Well, my friend made sure-”
“Howzer, I’m not trying to argue with you,” you say, cutting him off, “but…I don’t want either of us to have gotten so far, gotten so close to freedom, and then have everything stripped from us again. The risk is far greater than the possible reward. What if it was a trick? What if the Empire somehow, I don’t know, copied your friend’s voice and way of speaking? What if they track us down? What if people get in trouble for allowing you to go free? I just can’t see a way in which no one gets hurt from this.”
Howzer shifts to kneel in front of you, reaching up and cupping your face with both hands. “I promise everything will be alright, y/n,” he says, “we can get off this planet and join the rebellion, fight for everyone’s freedom.”
“Join the rebellion…” you echo, and you have to swallow hard as you look away. “I…I can’t do that, Howzer. Not yet, at least. There’s something else that I’m responsible for, something closer to me.”
“Oh,” he says, pursing his lips, “I uh, I get it.”
“I’m not saying that I’ll never join,” you reassure him, “just that I have something else first. I failed someone, and I have this urge to try and meet them again, to see if I can help in some way.”
“Would you want some help?” he offers, but you shake your head.
“This is something I have to do alone. I guess you can call it a master and apprentice situation.”
“You had an apprentice?” Howzer asks, and you nod.
“Briefly. For a year in the middle of the war. But, things went wrong.” You don’t want to speak more on it, so you stand and pull him up with you. “Come on,” you say, “don’t wanna miss your comm date.”
“It’s far from a date,” he chuckles, following you out of the hideout, “it’s with a brother of mine.”
“I thought you said it was a friend?”
“Friend, brother, fellow clone trooper, it’s all the same to me,” he shrugs before climbing onto his speeder. Once his helmet is on, the two of you start your engines and race to the far town.
“So, who exactly is this friend-brother of yours?” you ask as you wait for him to get the comm set up.
“His name is Echo,” Howzer replies as he begins to set up his transceiver. You stand off to the side, helmet in your hands as you wait for him to tell you it’s connected. “He was in the 501st under General Skywalker.” You stiffen then, heart lurching at the name. “Then he joined the group of clones called the Bad Batch, or Clone Force 99. He left them to join Captain Rex, also of the 501st, and help liberate other clones.”
“I know Rex,” you say, “and I knew Echo too. Although I never got to see him after he was rescued. I heard about what happened to him though. Are we sure he’s trustworthy? The Techno Union could have put some…programming into him. Can we really be sure-”
“If I wasn’t sure that he is trustworthy, I wouldn’t have let you be here,” Howzer says, looking up at you. “I would have told you it was too dangerous if I wasn’t sure. Same with Rex.”
You let out a sigh before nodding. Howzer finishes pressing a few buttons then nods at you. You slip your helmet on and watch as he puts his on as well. “This is Repeat and King reporting to Howler.”
“Howler here,” Howzer responded, and you instantly figure out the code names they are using. Smart, you think to yourself, but is it smart enough?
“Is Wizard with you?” Rex, that has to be him. The hopeful tone in his voice is all too familiar to you. And the way he says wizard, as if he’s remembering his own former general.
“Wizard is in the area.” Howzer’s vague confirmation of your presence sticks out to you. Just this small detail can be very confusing. If someone is listening in, they won’t know if you’re inside or outside, unless they have some sort of tracking technology.
“Good. Our information about exports is no longer confidential. We are contacting you to give a report.”
“We are prepared to hear the report.” Well, that just confirmed where I am.
“There is a cargo shuttle scheduled to pick up exports in city three at 0800 on Taungsday.” In three days time, there will be a ship coming to city three at 0800. But what is city three? “The ship will depart with exports at 0900, and no later.”
“What are the items that are being exported?”
“Local products, as well as a few foreign products that had been mistakenly imported a while back.” I guess we’re the mistaken foreign products.
“Alright, thank you for the information, Repeat and King.” Repeat must be Echo, while King is Rex. “Wizard and I will be ready to help load the exports onto the shuttle by 0900. We unfortunately have not been able to secure guards to make sure things go smoothly.”
“I’m sure there won’t be any interference,” Rex says, and hearing his voice again reminds you of the good old days. “We must go now. We will contact you if we receive any more information on the exports.”
“Thank you,” Howzer says before the transmission ends. You move from your spot and take your helmet off, sitting next to Howzer as he rests on the edge of the bed. “Three days,” he says, “until we’re finally off of this planet.”
“Hopefully,” you agree, leaning over and resting your head on his shoulder.
“We could just stay here until then. This is city three,” he suggests, but you shake your head.
“There are things I need to go get,” you reply. “Things I can’t leave without.”
“Could you bring them back here?”
“Too dangerous. It’s best if I get them and then stay back at the hideout until Taungsday.” Howzer nods, and you get up and stretch. “You know, I think I’m going to take a shower. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to use a proper sanisteam.”
“That does sound like a good idea,” Howzer agrees, and you turn to see the slightest smirk on his face, which gives you an idea.
“I’m taking one first, but you can have a little nap in the bed while you wait. Just don’t go on my side, I want the left.”
Howzer’s smirk drops and he purses his lips, which confirms your suspicions on his idea. “Actually, I was thinking,” he starts, “it might be a little wasteful for us both to take separate showers.”
“I was just going to take a quick one,” you reply, “maybe ten minutes at the most.”
“But that’s still ten minutes of water we could be sharing,” he counters.
You feel a giggle slip from you and you shake your head. “Now now, Howzer, you should never try and convince someone to let you shower with them.”
“Wha-no!” he says, panic settling on his features, “that’s not what- I’m sorry-”
You walk over to him and grin, taking his face in your hands before pressing your lips to his. “I was joking,” you say as you pull apart, “I guess it was kind of a rude joke.”
“Yes, it was,” he says while playfully pouting. “I know how you can make up for it.”
You raise an eyebrow and step back, folding your arms while smirking at him. “Oh really? And how is that?”
A grin spread over his face and he stood up from the bed, playfully grabbing your hand and starting to pull you towards the refresher. You stop, however, which causes Howzer to look back at you. “Are you…sure we should?” you ask, meeting his confused expression.
“Well, if you really don’t want it, we don’t have to. But I don’t see any problem with it.”
You sigh, taking a step forward and raising your hands to look at how they’re clasped together. “We’re getting off of Ryloth soon,” you start, “we’ll be free of this endless hiding. Well, I will. You’re going to go off and join the rebellion. Save your brothers who are still trapped in the Empire. We won’t be together anymore.”
Howzer’s eyes drop to your hands as well, and he squeezes slightly before pulling them to his chest. “You’ll always be here with me,” he says, pressing your hand over his heart, “even when you’re not standing by my side.” You lean forward and rest your forehead against his, letting a small sigh escape as you move. “But if you think this might be too big of a step, I understand.”
“Maybe…maybe when we finally leave.”
“Alright, mesh’la,” he whispers, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Enjoy your shower.” He steps back and smiles gently at you as you walk into the refresher. After you close the door, you hear the bed creak as he lays back down. Part of you feels bad for denying him, but another part of you thinks that going so far might be a mistake. Will you guys even still talk after you leave this planet? Are your promises just there to be broken?
You end up taking longer in the sanisteam than intended. Your mind wanders and distracts you, as well as the water. The warm liquid soothes your body, and you revel in the feeling you’ve been deprived of for so long. A soft knock on the door followed by your name is what pulls you back to reality. You turn the water off quickly and step out, looking around for a towel. “Uh, Howzer?”
“Are you okay in there? You’ve been taking a while,” he replies.
“Yeah yeah, I’m fine,” you reply, taking another look around the room, “but uh…I forgot to bring in a towel.”
“Oh,” he says, “I’ll grab you one.” A few moments pass and there’s another knock on the door. “I have one.”
“Thank you,” you say, opening the door a crack and sticking your arm out. You wait for a few more moments to let him hand it to you, but nothing comes, other than a few chuckles. “Howzer?” you ask, sticking your head out, “can I have the towel?”
“Of course,” he replies with a grin, “it’s right there.” You look down to where he’s pointing, and the towel is just barely out of your reach.
You look back up at him with a raised brow, and his cheeky grin only widens. “You know I can just use the force, right?”
“Yeah,” he shrugs, “but you wouldn’t ruin my fun, would you?”
“You wanna bet?” you ask, and he gives a fake pout, making you sigh with a small smile. “Alright, what do you want?”
“Kisses and cuddles,” he instantly responds.
“That’s all?”
“Well, if you insist on more-”
“No, no no,” you cut in, “that is enough. Now can you please hand me my towel?”
“Anything for you,” he says, walking over and picking it up before taking another step and kneeling down. He raises the towel above his head with both arms and bows slightly, saying, “my lady.” You roll your eyes and snatch the towel whacking him on the head briefly before closing the door and drying off. You then redress and step out to find him back on the bed.
“I’m not cuddling you until after you shower,” you say with your hands on your hips. “Since I just got myself cleaned.”
“Ugh fine,” he says, dramatically slipping off the bed and falling onto the floor.
You walk over to where he is, grinning like a kowakian monkey. “You’re acting very…childish today,” you say, looking down at him, “is there something you’re happy about?”
He looks up at you with genuine confusion before standing up. “We’re about to get off of this rock,” he says, “of course I’m excited.” You look down again as your mind goes back to your inevitable separation. “Mesh’la,” Howzer says softly, reaching his hand out and gently lifting your face to look up at him, “it’ll be okay. We’ll be okay.”
You close your eyes again and take a deep breath, leaning back to look up at his messy curls. Your hand reaches up to run through them, and Howzer’s eyes flutter softly as he melts into the feeling. “I’ll let you go take a shower now,” you say quietly, moving your eyes to meet his beautiful dark brown ones. He nods, and you lean in to gently kiss him. His hands go to your waist and he holds you close, pulling you into a hug after you break from the kiss. You think about letting those three words fall out, but decide it isn’t a good time. So instead, you let your intrusive thoughts win. “You stink.”
Howzer immediately pulls back, giving you a look of fake offense. “How dare you,” he says, “and here I thought we had something special.”
“That smell is special,” you snicker, and he sticks his tongue out at you playfully, causing you to giggle. “Don’t forget your towel,” you say, throwing it at the back of his head as he walks to the bathroom.
“Oh, you’re not going to tease me like I did to you,” he chuckles, and you pull the towel back with the force.
“I can if you want, or,” you say, grabbing your wet one and twisting it up, “I can be a lot more mean.” An evil grin covers your face, and a look of fear covers his as you run towards him. He lets out a yelp before slamming the door shut, and you laugh maniacally from outside. “I still have your towel!” you say while standing outside the door.
“I’ll be fine without it!” he responds before turning on the sanisteam.
“Well it’s outside the door if you want it,” you say, crawling onto the bed before slipping under the covers. It’s been a long time since you’ve been this comfortable, and before you know it, you’re falling into a deep sleep. You barely notice when Howzer crawls in next to you, his arms wrapping around your waist as his nose buries into the back of your neck.
You and him have never actually shared a bed before, not even just to cuddle. But it feels so natural when you wake up that you swear you’ve done it a million times. You don’t think about it for too long, though, as the coziness and warmth from Howzer pull you right back into sleep. Besides, you have a couple more days until your escape. You can spend the time cuddling with him, nothing will go wrong.
Right?

Displaced in Time
Read on AO3
Separatists have attacked an old museum for a war almost all but forgotten though they find that the past isn't quite as dead as it seems. Inspired by one post on Tumblr I'll link it when I find it. I might do more for this au. May the fourth be with you. Characters: Onorshash Haly (my Jedi Consular), Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Yoda, Mace Windu, Rex
"What is so important about this museum?" Ahsoka asked. She was looking at the various old droid models.
It was an old museum from a war that happened three thousand years ago. From what little Ahsoka knew of the war it lasted for 7 years during a slight lull in the war between the Republic and the Sith Empire. It was between an independent system called Zakuul and another faction known as the Alliance.
It was really a blip in galactic history, but on the side of the galaxy, it was a major thing as many of the planets and systems were affected by the war.
"The Separatists want something that is kept here," Obi-Wan said
"Yeah, some old droids," Anakin said. He was looking at one of the many displays of old soldier droids.
Ahsoka continued to look around and saw a half-finished sculpture. It seemed that the artist had only finished the front part leaving the smooth rock part way through the sides.
The sculpture was of a female tagruta. She was wearing what seemed to be ancient Jedi robes.
"Who's she?" Ahsoka asked.
Obi-Wan walked over to the statue.
"That is Master Onorshash Haly, the last Barsen'thor of the Jedi Order," Obi-Wan said. "She was the commander against Zakuul."
"Sir, we got incoming," Rex said over the comms.
"Looks like we are going to have company," Anakin said.
The three of them pulled out their lightsabers and activated them.
Blaster fire sounded through the halls. Some of the clones came into the room. The droids entered and the fight truly began.
The clones hid behind some of the exhibits for cover and occasionally popped out to return fire on the droid. The Jedi rushed forward slicing through the droids and occasionally deflecting blaster fire.
No one noticed that the side of the statue of the Jedi Master looked like to be covered in dust or rocks. They didn't notice a stray blaster bolt hit the side and that the side looked like an ancient controller. They didn't notice that it short-circuited and that the rock began to heat up.
The fight continued.
Suddenly, all of the droids were crushed. Everyone looked at each other in confusion.
"Someone needs to tell me what is going on," A female voice said.
They turned around and saw that in front of the destroyed statue was the very Tagruta that had been depicted. She had green skin with white markings and purple montrals. Her robes were brown though some armor was now visible.
"How did you get in here?" Anakin asked.
"I'm not sure, I'm not even sure where here is," the woman said.
"Who are you?" Ahsoka asked.
"I'm Onorshash Haly," the woman said.
"That's impossible she died thousands of years ago," Obi-Wan said
"You would think I would...wait thousands of years," Onorshash said. Her eyes widened in realization.
The sound of more marching droids sounded.
"More clankers are on their way," Rex said.
"Clankers?" Onorshash asked.
"You got a lot to learn," Anakin said
~~~
Onorshash sat on a seat on the ship. She looked over the datapad that she had been given.
None of this made any sense. The Republic was in a civil war against those who want to separate from the Republic. They have a droid army and the Republic has a clone army.
The idea of clones filled her with dread. The clones themselves she had no issue with. They were just like any other soldiers she served with.
No, it was the fact that they were created purely to fight in a war they had no control over and no stakes in. Perhaps she spent too much time fighting those who didn't have a say in the fact that they were fighting or those who forced their will upon others, but everything about this war screamed wrong to her.
It didn't help that reading what the history books say about her made her ill.
Some of her exploits had been erased especially the ones that the Republic wished to do away with or when the Republic and Jedi Order was in the wrong. Some of the accomplishments of those around her were attributed to her and they were erased from history.
"Master Jedi," One of the clone troopers said.
Onorshash looked up and smiled at him.
"There's no need for honorees, Captain Rex, was it?" Onorshash said
"That's correct, I'm surprised you remembered," Rex said.
"I like to know the names of those I serve with," Onorshash said.
"That is different than most Jedi some of us have worked with," Rex said.
"I've never worked with clones before, but I don't see it as much different than the soldiers that volunteered that I fought with before. As such I will give you the same courtesy that I extended to them," Onorshash said. "That includes learning their names, their families the small stuff like that."
"I'm afraid you won't be learning that much from us," Rex said.
Onorshash frowned.
"I can't imagine it," Onorshash sighed. "You have no choice but to fight. I know how the Republic treats deserters and you were created to serve the military."
"You have an issue?" Rex asked.
"Of course, I fought so people would have a say in their life away from the fear of the tyranny of the Empire and Zakuul," Onorshash said. "To imagine that it is now the Republic that is doing this."
"Sometimes morals have to be changed for the greater good," Rex said.
"No, to compromise on one's own morals makes you no more different than the enemy," Onorshash said.
~~~
"Interesting this is," Yoda said after Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka explained their situation.
"Do you remember what led to you being locked into carbonite?" Mace Windu asked.
"No, I remember waiting for a friend of mine," Onorshash answered.
"Curious," Yoda asked.
"I'm afraid I won't be much help with that," Onorshash said.
"Though we have to decide what to do with you," Mace Windu said.
"Won't she be reinstated into the Jedi Order?" Ahsoka asked.
"She was once a member of the Jedi Council," Mace Windu said. "We don't have a seat for you now."
"I'm fine," Onorshash said.
"Of course, the galaxy has changed much since your disappearance," Mace Windu said.
"I'm aware, Master Kenobi, Knight Skywalker, and Padawan Tano have been catching me up," Onorshash said.
"So you are aware of the war," Mace Windu said.
"Aware yes, understand no," Onorshash said.
"Help you understand we will," Yoda said.
"Thank you," Onorshash said.

here, have the start of the next story in that one series I wrote two years ago, about what would have happened, if ahsoka tano thought to ask maul who his sith master is.
in which time has passed, old wounds are healed if still tender, and there is a new generation to shepherd and nurture.
—
Ahsoka meets Cilghal for the first time when Obi-Wan volunteers her to lead a group of younglings to Ilum with Master Windu.  Normally, the Temple respects her status as a Ranger too much to snatch her up for missions during those periods she’s on Coruscant to rest, but somehow, this time was different.
She has to jog through the hangar to catch the Crucible in time, which she also doesn’t appreciate.  Force, she didn’t even manage a real shower, just a quick run through the sonic in her quarters, which means her montrals are a touch out of sync with the rest of her; it’s not quite a headache, but it makes her…cranky.
That’s something she can admit to herself, if not Master Windu, who eyes her when she sheds momentum by nearly sliding up the ramp into the ship, projecting faint irritation in the Force.
Catching his gaze calmly, she pulls her emotions back behind her shields and gives a faint bow.  “Master Windu, it’s nice to see you again.”
“And you, Knight Tano,” he returns, and they walk deeper inside together, the younglings already scattered to set up their bunks in the berth.
It’s been a while since they’ve spoken at any length; most of their interactions are consigned to polite acknowledgement as they pass one another in the halls of the Temple.  Ahsoka honestly wouldn’t put it past Obi-Wan to be forcing them to finally get over themselves, after all these years.  They don’t dislike each other, it’s not that.  But there’s a hum-thrumming of sensitivity itching under her skin whenever they spend too much time together, force-memory of a shatterpoint shared and echoes of tortured laughter cut brutally short.  That’s something she’s spent the last eight years trying to put down.
Though on rare occasions, that edge of a reminder at the back of her head makes for a spectacular spar between them in the salles, and their last bout drew what felt like half the Temple before it was over.  Her musing actually pulls that particular clash out of both of them and into the surrounding Force, and they both soften at once.
Just in time for a little Rodian youngling to dash into the room across from them, chanting, “Knight Tano!  Knight Tano!  Padawan Katooni said when you took her to Ilum you were kidnapped by pirates is that true?  Are we going to be kidnapped by pirates?”
She gets a blinding flash all her own of Ganodi pouting in disbelief at the idea of learning from a droid, but before she can even smile, a chorus of half a dozen other younglings gasp, “Pirates?” and practically stampede into the room in the wake of their fellow.
Mace audibly sighs, and Ahsoka’s not-quite-a-headache has definitely solidified.
But she spends the next hour or so recanting the frankly ridiculous series of events that followed her last trip to Ilum, including being attacked by pirates, being kidnapped by pirates, the worst circus acts she’s ever seen in her life, teaming up with those same pirates, and a brief and terrifying battle with General Grievous.
Fucking Hondo.
By the end of it, she has all their attention wrapped around her like a cloak, wide eyes following her hands and, in some instances, seeing what she saw through the Force.  A few of them definitely have a talent for clairvoyance, if not outright precognition, which will make this trip interesting, to say the least.  Ilum is strong in the unifying Force.  She does her best to tuck the sheer desperation of that final duel away as she tells it because it’s just another fun story, for them.  Jedi, fighting the forces of evil!  The ups and downs of battle are exhilarating, not horrifying, because they still know in their hearts a Jedi can do anything they set their mind to.
—
Creating a lightsaber is a sacred process, one that unites every Jedi.  These younglings will remember one another for the rest of their lives, remember the feeling of each other in the Force every time they held the physical manifestation of their lives in their hands.
All the crechĂŠmates Ahsoka built her first lightsaber with are dead.
—
aaaaand that's as far as I got, back in 2021. Cilghal is a real star wars character, a healer-knight from the days of the new jedi order. i figured bariss and ahsoka probably ended up sharing a padawan, given the ending scene of Had we but World enough, and Time.

Look who just woke up- is that JIMMY SMITS? No, I must have been mistaken, that’s BAIL PRESTOR ORGANA from STAR WARS. I heard they are 67 and stuck here just like everyone else. Even in the 20’s, he still gives off a FATHER OF THE REBELLION, FIGHTING FOR WHAT’S RIGHT EVEN IF FIGHTING ALONE, HARD BEING THE SURVIVOR, SAVING EVERYONE BUT YOURSELF, CONFIDENCE THAT COULD KILL impression. In Sydney they work as a MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT. They’re known to be quite COMMITED & KIND, but have a tendency to be DISHONEST & STUBBORN on their bad days.
Gender/Pronouns : Male / he/him
How long have they been in Sydney : In his memories, whole life. In reality, 1 month
Which suburb do they live in? Darling Point
Personality description : Above all Bail is kind. He believes in creating a better future. He is completely committed to that, and is respected for his views. He also loves deeply, and is a family man. Whilst he is honest in his beliefs, he does have the ability to lie very convincingly as he managed to hide his own allegiances even from Sith.
Memories of their real life :
Bail Prestor was born into nobility, but dreamt of a life outside of that. Dreams often full of chasing purrgil far from his own. He soon realised it was not something that would ever happen, and soon he found new a new dream when he met Breha Organa. Eventually they married, and he took her name. However they knew if they were to have children, it would be from adoption.
With Breha as Queen, he became the statesman for Alderaan, and it was also where he met Mon Mothma. He did not join the senate until after the attack on Naboo. During this he made contacts, ones he knew would be important. However unlike them, his honesty and commitment to justice meant he he held the respect of his opponents. Though he was also known to be an ally of the Jedi, and also befriended Padme when she joined the senate.
As war broke out, Bail remained loyal to the Republic and the senate. When Kenobi discovered the clones, he did originally vote in favour of their creation. That was until he saw them, and realised how human they were. It was a mistake he knew he'd need to redeem, and need to keep fighting for what was right. As the war carried on, he did what he could to bring about peace in the senate, but together with Breha also made sure that Alderaan gave relief aid.
Eventually it seemed that the Clone Wars was over, and then Bail received news that the Jedi had tried to take over the Jedi temple. With his knowledge of the Jedi, he rushed over there, but was intercepted by clones. He had been leaving when he saw them kill a Padawan, and so went to find Yoda. Obi-Wan was able to get to them, but they hadn't heard from any of the others, and those who hadn't been killed by the clones initially were being told to return to the temple. Bail was summoned to the senate, where Palpatine announced the creation of the Empire whilst he and Padme watched in horror.
Whilst he tried to help Yoda attack the Emperor, after this failed Obi-Wan bought an injured Padme to them. He watched one of his closest friends die, and soon learnt the truth about the children's father. Whilst he would have taken both twins, they knew it was safer for them to be seperated, and so he returned to Alderaarn with Leia.
He went to Padme's funeral, but on seeing Ahsoka there, gave her a communicator. Publicly he declared his loyalty to the Emperor, but secretly he and Mon began forming a rebellion. To begin with, it was simply to supply relief, yet he kept an eye on any news of rebellions happening in the galaxy. He could play the part of the loyal senator, but in reality the rebellion was growing quickly.
Eventually they realised a full scale war was coming, and Bail needed to bring Obi-Wan out of hiding. He returned to Alderaan, and sent Leia to go and find him. But Leia's ship went missing. Bail never learnt that she was alive, he was killed when Alderaan was destroyed.
What was their fake life like:
Born before the turn of the century, Bail had a similar life in that he worked in politics, climbing the ranks. However, he did not need to establish any rebellion this time. He also married and adopted children. Whilst he was too old to enlist during WW1, he did what he could to try and assist the soldiers and their families. However his wife passed away working in munitions. He did what he could to raise his children, and do his job, though now has become a bit of a workaholic.
Optional, please pick at least three and interpret them however you wish ::
Theme Song: My Way - Frank Sinatra
Quote: The whole galaxy knows I'm a family man, Ahsoka Tano. The Empire is counting on it. They think it means I'll be more amenable to certain suggestions
Wanted Connections: Co-workers Friends Family - he'd have adopted

“Another happy landing,” Obi-Wan laughed with relief as he slumped back in his chair. He closed his eyes for a moment, his heart pounding in his ears, head pounding still from his fight with Count Dooku, but he was alive, and Anakin’s laughter was the final reminder that the end to the war would be just around the corner. He didn’t move for a long moment despite the smoke and electrical sizzles jumping around the room. Crash aside, he was honestly still feeling disoriented after gaining consciousness in the elevator shaft. He just needed to close his eyes for five seconds. That was all he needed.
“Come on Old Man, you can’t be that tired already. You were knocked out half the time,” Anakin chided and nudged his boot against Obi-Wans leg.
He raised a brow without opening his eyes. “I could have a serious brain injury Anakin, and here you are kicking me.”
“Thats how I can tell you’re fine.” Anakin held out his hand and helped Obi-Wan to his feet before turning and guiding the chancellor toward one of the somewhat intact port views. Already a small open aired transport manned by the  Coruscant guard hovered just outside waiting to carry them down to solid ground and safety. Obi-Wan and Anakin’s lightsabers made quick work of cutting through the bridge’s view ports, and soon enough the two jedi and the Chancellor were looking up at the burning spacecraft as it sent large dark plumes of smoke into the Coruscant sky. Aside from the general exorbitant amounts of pollution filling the already hazy atmosphere, Obi-Wan couldn’t quite shake the nagging feeling that kept tugging at the back of his mind, that he had missed something.
Granted he did miss Anakin apparently killing Count Dooku, the one lead the Jedi had on figuring out the true identity of Lord Sideous, but somehow he didn’t feel surprised by that. He absolutely felt a mix of emotions thinking about that duel and what transpired, but surprise wasn’t exactly one of the emotions he felt. At least not in the sense that the duel came to those extremes.
He willed the thought away. He couldn’t continue to dwell on what should have happened, or what he could have prevented if he had not been incapacitated. He told himself it was just his worry about Ahsoka on Mandalore, that he would need to contact her soon. He still couldn’t pin down his thoughts or emotions on that issue either. He knew that Rex, Pyrrha and Bo Katan were with her, but that did little to assure him of any kind of victory against Maul. Again he pushed the thought away. It was out of his hands for the time being. All he could do was petition the council to intervene again now that the Chancellor was back on Coruscant.
“Maybe you hit your head harder than I thought,” Anakin’s voice pierced his thoughts briefly.
Obi-Wan took a deep breath through his nose, and tried not to choke on the awful smell of burning oil and steel before letting it out. “What makes you say that?” he asked, finally facing his friend with a raised brow.
“I don’t know you’ve got that kind of weird spacy look.”
“I assure you I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Just make sure you get your head checked-” Anakin paused mid sentence and a small fighter craft came barreling down toward the surface. If Obi-Wan hadn’t known any better he almost would have thought it was going to crash right into the landing pad.
“What is this about?” The Chancellor said stepping between the two jedi as their own craft finally reached the landing pad.
Obi-Wan’s brows furrowed as Anakin nudged him with his elbow before following the politician. He knew what his former apprentice was getting at, he just wished he wouldn’t be so open about his attempts to tease him. He put the thought aside for a moment. He couldn’t deny the anxious flutter in his stomach as the two person fighter craft touched down a little ways away. He couldn’t deny that he was happy to see the fighter and the two cabins open up from the top, the two women inside moving with just as much urgency as the Coruscant Guard trying to usher the Chancellor onto a transport back to the Senate Building.
In front of him, Anakin and Palpatine seemed to already be discussing the next steps to go after General Grievous, and though Obi-Wan was also eager to bring the war to an end, thinking about that so soon brought back the vague nagging in the back of his mind. He had to remind himself to take things one step at a time. He couldn’t let himself get caught up in those feelings. Then there was still the clean up after, reparations to be made, and the small matter of hopefully letting the senate re-elect a new Chancellor at last.
“Glad to see you’re both in one piece,” The dark haired human woman said. Jankari crossed her arms and though she did sound pleased to see them, Obi-Wan didn’t miss her complete disregard for the Chancellor. He understood she was still grieving the loss of ARC-Trooper Fives and from what he understood of the situation, she held the Chancellor personally responsible for what happened.
“Was there ever any doubt that we weren’t?” he said, unable to stop the grin forming on his face, as the green woman with Jankari barreled into Anakin for a hug.
Jankari raised a brow, keeping her arms tight around her chest, “Well considering how many pieces the ship was in, I’d say there was some reason to doubt.” She stepped aside as Sas let go of Anakin and eagerly jumped into Obi-Wan’s arms.
This was how their reunions went. Sas rarely greeted Obi-Wan first, he tried to only hold her for as long as what would be seen as appropriate. Though admittedly, he always held her for two heartbeats longer than he should and gave her a small squeeze before setting her back down on the ground. It didn’t matter if their current company, namely Jankari and Anakin, had some idea of what Obi-Wan’s relationship with Sas was, they continued to remain committed to their parts. Sas always being much more openly affectionate and Obi-Wan embracing it with a distant amusement.
This time however, was slightly different. Sas huffed in his ear as she squeezed him, and Obi-Wan did his best not to squirm as her breath tickled his skin. “Get out of here. Theres nothing more you can do?” She echoed his words from what felt like a lifetime ago when Anakin tried to get the buzz droids off him. ”Were you trying to give me a heart attack?" She pulled away abruptly an amused smile on her face, despite the waves of anxiety that poured off her in the force. “I have a bad feeling about this? Really? REALLY.” Sas had always been excellent at maintaining her physical composure. She often described her skill as an absolute necessity, and Obi-Wan, though he sometimes hated to admit it, found that it had been useful on several occasions, some of which had little to do with their roles in the GAR.
“Hey we’ve come out of worse things alright,” Anakin cut in as he, Jankari and the Chancellor turned to face Obi-Wan and Sas.
“Thats not the point-” Sas said, crossing her arms as she followed them to the shuttle.
“I think she means the comm silence after that comment had all of us worried,” Jankari cut in, her eyes darting between Sas and the Chancellor as he stepped aboard his shuttle.
Anakin followed after, not looking to see if Jankari or Sas was behind him. Already, the Chancellor had drawn the young Jedi Knight’s attention away again. Of course Obi-Wan wasn’t entirely surprised, as he was sure Anakin had plenty of questions as to how Grievous was able to get to the Chancellor so easily, and if he knew the fate of any of the other jedi who were sent to intervene. Shaak Ti hadn’t been on the ship, nor had there been any other signs of the Jedi sent to protect the Chancellor. Obi-Wan got the sinking feeling that there would not be much celebrating today in the temple.
“You’re really going to wait here?” Sas’ voice pulled Obi-Wan’s thoughts back to the surface. He had one foot already on the shuttle, but still he turned to her in confusion. Instead however, he found Jankari, standing a few feet away watching him warily. Well not really watching him but looking past him to where Palpatine had already sat himself in the shuttle.
“Yeah…someone has to to return the ship to the docks, and after your shaky landing its probably best I just fly the ship alone.” Ever since the incident with ARC trooper Fives, Jankari had a tendency to pull away any time she thought Palpatine would be around or involved in some way. He never discussed it with her, but Sas was deeply troubled when she found out about it. They had both been off-world when it happened, and yet again Sas had expressed feeling inadequate in maintaining her friendship with the hunter. Even now he could feel the uncertainty rolling off both women.
Sas didn’t press though. “Thank you Kari,” he heard her say as she followed him into the shuttle.
Most of the flight to the Senate building passed in welcomed, though slightly uncharacteristic silence. Well, somewhat. Anakin and the Chancellor kept up their conversation as the former updated the other on news from the Outer Rim Sieges. That was only to be expected between the two of them. Obi-Wan wasn’t entirely sure when it happened, or how it started, but Anakin’s friendship with Palpatine unsettled him in ways he couldn’t quite explain. The Jedi Master had a tendency to boil it down to wishing that he could have had that same kind of communication with Anakin over the years. While they were no long master and apprentice, and Obi-Wan trusted no one more than he trusted Anakin, there was still a barrier between them, one that didn’t seem to exist between the young knight and the Chancellor. That shield kept Anakin from confiding in him about his relationship with Senator Amidala, and Obi-Wan couldn’t help but wonder if his friend had told Palpatine about that.
Sas shifted in the seat next to Obi-Wan. She was actually the one uncharacteristically quiet. It wasn’t so much that he was expecting her to mouth off to the Chancellor for likely forgoing some of his own security protocols, as she had done so in the past among other things, it was that she wouldn’t even look at him. He supposed he shouldn’t be surprised though. Four years of knowing Sas and Obi-Wan knew that there was a part of her that questioned whether or not it was actually in the Republic’s favor to rescue the Chancellor. If Obi-Wan were being honest, he was slowly beginning to wonder the same thing.
“Master Kenobi,” the Chancellor’s voice pulled him away from those thoughts. “How much longer do you think this war will wear on? Surely, not much longer with Count Dooku gone.”
Sas crossed her arms and shifted again next to Obi-Wan. Her back was slightly to him, and had they been alone, she likely would have leaned back against him. The end of the war wasn’t something they both really talked about, despite wanting nothing more. Well, at the very least, he knew Sas would always struggle to imagine the end of the war, and now that it seemed within their grasp, he couldn’t quite explain why his stomach churned the way it did.
“I don’t think I’m at liberty to say Chancellor,” he started honestly. “I don’t imagine Grievous has the discipline to keep going on his own, nor the cooperation of other Sepratists Generals, however, how much longer the war lasts would depend almost entirely on how long it takes to catch him.” Just saying that out loud made Obi-Wan feel exhausted. Several times throughout the war he and the 212th had tried to capture the Cyborg and yet nearly every time he managed to find a way to escape. It was incredibly frustrating, but mostly exhausting. The only redeeming thought in it all was the possibility that he and Anakin had also given Grievous and the other Sepratists military leaders just as many headaches over the years.
“It shouldn’t be long,” Anakin followed up. “We’ll have that cyborg dealt with in no time.” There was a confidence in his voice that Obi-Wan always admired and appreciated when he himself was feeling less so, however he had to wonder if Anakin was really thinking through what could possibly follow after.
Again Sas shifted in her seat next to Obi-Wan, and while he and both Anakin were very aware that the green woman tended to move a lot  when seated in a regular chair, it didn’t escape either of their notice that it was after each time commented on the end of the war. He would need to discuss it with her later. For now he would just need to hope that the Chancellor would not question her behavior.
“Miss Vom, is there something else you wish to add? You’ve had just as much experience with General Grievous as Master Kenobi-”
“My opinion has little bearing on the results,” Sas answered curtly.
“I would hardly say that,” Palpatine continued. “I doubt Master Kenobi would have kept you on his command team if your opinions had such little bearing.”
Obi-Wan felt the knot in his stomach tighten a bit at the comment. While everything the Chancellor said was absolutely true, Obi-Wan did value Sas’ input, something about the tone Palpatine used made his nerves crawl. The Chancellor’s words were just a little too close to the truth.
“No, no, no, you see, Master Kenobi and the other Jedi keep me around for what happens when this is all over,” Sas said curtly. Her ability to modulate her voice and features so that she still seemed calm, even playful, despite the frustration that rolled offer her was certainly a feat to behold. “You, Chancellor, have a massive mess to clean up politically when this is all over."
And there it was. Obi-Wan thought she had been doing well. At least this time she waited for him to ask for her comment. He wanted nothing more than to take her hand in his own, let her ground herself and let her know that he'd support whatever heated comment was about to fly from her lips. Instead, she sat up a little straighter meeting the Chancellor’s tired expression.
"Do I now?" Palpatine seemed amused.
"Sas, the Chancellor has been doing his best to keep the Republic in one piece," Anakin interjected.
Obi-Wan had to resist the impulse to roll his eyes. This of course was more for Anakin’s sake than Palpatine’s, but he would leave the remarks to Sas and do damage control after.
"Chancellor, there will be systems on both sides in dire need of aid and supplies, former Sepratist systems that will need to be negotiated with. Winning the war is only one small part of this crisis, there are still the grievances on both sides to be addressed or else this would have all been for nothing."
Obi-Wan felt the corners of his lips pull up ever so slightly. In another life Sas might have made a good politician, or a very poor one who spoke too frankly.
"Sas, it sounds like you want to let these systems off without facing any consequences for their treason," Anakin said, cutting in before Palpatine could speak.
"The Republic failed them, so they left. If the Chancellor does not take the time to consider what changes they'd like to see then we're all for the worst. You might as well put the last of those emergency powers to good use before handing them back over to the Senate and they hold another election."
Obi-Wan wasn’t sure how to describe the shift that overtook the transport at Sas' words. Despite the afternoon sun beaming through the portholes, washing everything in warm golden light, a deep cold passed through him and seemingly drained the color from Sas’ face. He looked between her, Anakin and Palpatine. Despite her green complexion somehow looking faded, Sas kept her composure and sat firmly in her seat. The Chancellor kept a rather placid expression as he watched her with his hands in his lap, but Anakin’s brows furrowed darkly over his eyes.
“All she means to say is that even once the war is over, there is still much to do and many relationships to mend,” he said, hoping to draw some of the attention away from her. “Just as during the war, she would like to continue her part to help the Republic work towards peace.” None of his companions seemed fully appeased by his statement, and the cold still lingered in his core. Obi-Wan didn’t like it, but it was something he would need to discuss with Anakin when they were alone.
Thankfully, the shuttle arrived at the Senate Building before anything else could be said. Obi-Wan watched as the Chancellor swiftly stood up, and exited the ship without another word. Anakin gave Obi-Wan a brief look that the Jedi Master assumed to be talk some sense into her, before leading R2 out of the ship as well. Sas on the other hand stayed seated for just a moment before sprawling back on the seats with sigh. If Sas felt the cold lingering in her, she didn’t let on, in fact she didn't appear to be affected at all. Even as Obi-Wan watched Master Windu and Yoda greet the Chancellor he couldn’t quite shake the cold, and mind grew as hazy as Coruscant skyline.
Despite this feeling, Obi-Wan considered stepping out and greeting a few of the senators, namely PadmĂŠ and Bail, but thought better of it as he saw Anakin searching the crowd gathered. He himself quickly searched the crowd as Palpatine greeted them, but noticed several usual faces were missing.
“You’re not going to see your sister?” Obi-Wan called over his shoulder to Sas.
“I talked to her just before the battle. Crix went off world to go visit our mom and our cousins. She’s either coming back tonight or tomorrow morning.”
Obi-Wan gave a brief nod before realizing Anakin was looking back up at him expectantly. Even R2 had already rolled out to mingle with the crowd.
“Are you coming, Master?” Anakin said, and again Obi-Wan wondered if he should. Then again, it wasn’t necessary that he himself debrief the senate, the Chancellor could do that himself, and so could Anakin. They were conscious for more of the escapade anyway, and then there would need to be a Council briefing- Obi-Wan didn’t consider himself prideful but he would be lying if he said he didn’t mind having to explain the fiasco in the lift system more than once.
“Oh no I’m not brave enough for politics,” he answered with a grin, “I have to report to the Council.” At least his excuse was actually a practical one. He was only going to be polite in greeting Bail and Padmé, but truthfully if he could avoid it, Obi-Wan did not want to be swarmed by the senators. His head still hurt, and the thought of being trapped in the echo chambers of the senate building only made it worse. He’d leave the politicians to Anakin, “Besides, someone needs to be the poster boy.”
He could hear Sas let out a snort from behind him.
“Hold on. This whole operation was your idea.”
“Let’s not forget, Anakin, that you rescued me from the buzz droids-” Obi-Wan started.
“Saved, is a strong word,” came Sas’ voice again, but this time much closer.
Obi-Wan tried to keep his thoughts focused as he felt her arms wrap around his waist. “And you killed Count Dooku, and you rescued the Chancellor carrying me unconscious on your back.”
“See you could have used ‘saved’ there instead.” Sas teased quietly, her breath ghosting across the back of his neck. He tried to let it just roll off of him, focus on what Anakin was saying, something about training. He let out a breath, but couldn’t fight the shiver that ran through him. Thankfully, the Holonet reporters were fixated on the Chancellor.
“Anakin, let’s be fair. Today you were the hero, and you deserve your glorious day with the politicians.”
“All right, but you owe me one, and not for saving your skin for the 10th time,” Anakin said, though Obi-Wan almost felt something like relief wash over the young jedi. He knew that, Padme might not have been in the crowd, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t waiting for Anakin. Clearly, he was hoping she was anyway.
“Ninth time. That business on Cato Neimoidia doesn’t- doesn’t count.”
“No it doesn’t, that was all Rouge and Jankari,” Sas chimed in loud enough this time for Anakin to hear.
“I’ll see you both after the briefing,” Anakin said with a wave of his hand before finally moving into the waiting crowd with a shake of his head. Almost immediately his friend was enveloped into the swarm of senators and reporters.
Obi-Wan watched for a moment before turning at the light brush of Sas’ lips over the back of his neck. As the steps folded back up, he let out a breath as he moved his hands over her arms around his waist still. “Patience, My Dear,” he said, lifting one of her hands to his lips.
Slowly, her arms pulled away and he turned to see a mixture of emotions cross her face. They poured off her in waves; concern, confusion, worry, longing, happiness. It wasn’t often that she was speechless, especially when they were alone, but  her brows furrowed for a moment as she tried to search for the right words.
Then there was the  little nagging feeling in the back of his mind. Obi-Wan had thought it would have cleared away with Anakin and Palpatine out of the transport, but still it hung like the thick mass of smoke still rising over the horizon where Anakin had crashed The Invisible Hand. He hardly imagined that it could be coming from Sas.
Taking a seat as the transport started to pull away from the landing platform, Obi-Wan gently guided Sas to sit next to him, one arm draped over her shoulders, the other hand still holding hers. He slowly wove his fingers with hers and leaned over to kiss the side of her head. “I’m sorry I scared you,” he mumbled against her hair. She smelled of metal, blaster fire and sweat still. As she leaned into him, it dawned on Obi-Wan how difficult this battle must have been for her. He was a Jedi Master trained to use the force to navigate intense situations like this battle, she didn’t have that ability, nor did the clones they served with. It was chaotic for him and Anakin, to say the very least. He could only imagine what the battle must have looked like to her. He wished he could promise that it wouldn't happen again, that he would not cause her to worry again, but that was impossible, even if Dooku was dead now. The cloud swirled in the back of his mind.
Just one more thing to add to his list of things to discuss with Anakin.
“Thats a pretty lousy apology, Pretty Boy,” Sas sighed and leaned into his hold. He could feel her shoulders rise and fall slowly as she took in a deep breath. In the reflection of the portviews, he could see the tired smile pulling on the corners of her lips. It was one he knew well. The smile she gave when she had so many thoughts clawing for attention in her head, and she was doing her best to ignore them all to be in the moment.
“Hmmm and how would you suggest I make it better?” He mumbled against her hair. Obi-Wan really didn’t have to ask what she meant by her comment. He knew what her answer would be, but he would be lying if he said he didn’t want to hear her say it. He nuzzled against her head, purposely freeing some loose strands of hair from her braid.
“You can start by making sure your kisses reach their target.” Sas shifted next to him, swinging her legs up so that they were draped across his lap.
“Well, you know there is a way that we can remedy that,” Obi-Wan chuckled as he sat up, moved his arm that was around her shoulder, more around her back and waist so that he could hold her closer in his lap.
“When you say things like that, it makes me think you’re not actually sorry.”
“You might possibly be correct about that.”
Sas narrowed her brown eyes at him. In the sunlight, he could see little green flecks in her eyes, shimmering like plants that grew under the water’s surface off the rocky coast on her own home planet. He wondered if she knew she carried that with her, that looking into her eyes was to see an entire world that she loved and lived for. He slowly untangled his fingers from hers, cupped her face and smiled as she leaned into his touch.
For a brief moment, Obi-Wan held the entire galaxy in the palm of his hand. Attachment was against the Jedi Code, and of course he knew that was exactly what their relationship was, but there was some small comfort in knowing how fleeting this moment was, and that she cherished it just as much as he did. Perhaps it was sad, and said more about their outlook about the end of the war, that they only could only imagine holding onto each other so long as the galaxy was crumbling.
He let out a breath and pressed another kiss to her forehead. They keep me around for what happens after. Sas’ words rang quietly in his ears. He felt his chest ache as he held her a little tighter to himself. She was absolutely right, that he would be requesting her assistance on missions to bring systems back into the Republic. The end of the war wasn’t truly the end. Their work never stopped. It didn’t matter what either of them did, their war, their fight never seemed to end. Another weight settled in his stomach.
"Where's your mind Obi-Wan?" Sas' voice pulled him back into the present. That was the only place he truly wanted to be.
"With my hero, my heart, my glowing star," he answered and smiled at the giggle she breathed out against his lips. He would happily drink in that sound for the rest of his life. Once this war was over, he planned to.
Her hand moved up and through his hair, only to pull away quickly when he involuntarily flinched at her touch. The back of his head, and honestly his whole back were still pretty tender from his fight with Count Dooku. Again her brows knit together with worry. “I was going to say you must have hit your head a little hard in there-” she started. Usually she was so quick to have some kind of sassy quip, but the worry never left her eyes as she tried to lighten the mood. “I hate being right about these things.”
“An hour or two in a bacta tank should take care of it well enough. Besides, there are others who need it more.”
“You mean if I can actually get you to go back to the medbay,” Sas’ hand moved down to his shoulder, guiding him down so that his forehead could rest against her own.
“Well I do have a report to deliver.”
“So do I, and since Anakin left, I guess that makes it my job to escort you there.”
“Sas, you know as well as I do that many of our troops will need medical aid first. Another hour or two without attention will not bring me any harm.” Even as Obi-Wan said it, he felt something was off. Truthfully, it felt as if he wasn’t supposed to survive this mission at all. Only Anakin’s sheer force of will allowed Obi-Wan to return alive and well.
“Yoda and Mace are getting briefed with the senators, why can't you just go get some bacta spray?" Sas had pulled her head away from him by this point, Obi-Wan still held her in his lap, but there was a wedge between them. He could feel it. He wanted to blame it on the cold that had gripped them both a few moments before. She sounded tired and frustrated. He wasn't helping in trying to make light of the situation he was in during the battle.
"If it will ease your mind, I will go to the medbay first," Obi-Wan said at last. He could let go of the situation, thank the force for letting him come out of it alive, but Sas couldn’t and it was much more difficult for her to move past it.
"Thank you, Obi-Wan," she started and looked away briefly. "I just… there was a lot at once- I thought I lost you.…”
Obi-Wan tilted his head and pressed a kiss to her forehead, just above her eyes. “I’m here now, and always will be.”
Sas made a noise in the back of her throat, something that sounded like it could have been a well, but he only let out a small huff out through his nose in answer.
She really didn’t consider that he could choose her, that anyone could choose her to spend their life with. Obi-Wan didn’t want to say how accurate she had been in her statements to the Chancellor about the end of the war. While he knew part of the reason Sas didn’t like to talk about the end of the war was because it left them in a very uncertain relationship, he understood that it was only a very small part of it. Both of them were well aware that the end of the war wasn't actually the end of the war. Negotiations would need to be made, treaties signed, and reparations made on both sides. The Jedi would likely be called in to take care of these situations as well, and so Obi-Wan would be out planet hopping again. Sas however would return to a planet one step away from civil war. The end of the Clone Wars wasn’t the end of their war, and very few people would willingly step into that kind of life. Obi-Wan had decided however, that he would for her, even if neither of them lived long enough to see their efforts rewarded.
He knew all these things and yet, Obi-Wan kept them all to himself. He told himself that it would be better this way. That should something happen to either of them, it would not feel like something was being taken from them. He told himself that he was protecting her, even if he wasn't so sure he believed that.
After a few moments in silence, Sas said, “I won’t ask you to promise not to do that again. I don’t think I would have survived this long if I thought that was a reasonable promise, but can you at least not…” she paused, her fingers thrumming on the back of his neck as she searched for the right word, “...give up so quickly?”
“Give up?”
“Go on, theres nothing more you can do, sounded an awful lot like giving up.”
Obi-Wan sat up a little then, realizing how grim it likely sounded from where she sat in the fight. Before answering he tightened his hold around her, and pulled her more into his lap. “What if instead, should anything dire happen again, I promise to do everything I can to come home, to come back to you.”
"Thats a big promise Obi-Wan," Sas answered, her brows pulled together.
Even as he heard himself say the words, Obi-Wan knew it was a lot to promise. Well, it was a lot for him to promise. Sas' request was more of what anyone would expect of him. That he would do whatever he could to finish the mission. They often left their relationship out of such things, it was easier to separate their duties and their relationship. They both knew what choices would win in the end.
However as Obi-Wan found himself staring at the end of the war practically at his feet, he was surprised to feel so tired and drained. This war was never how he imagined serving as a Jedi, nor did he see this role ending soon. He could tell himself that it was just the bump on his head that made him feel sick, but if updates they'd sporadically received while in the Outer Rim were correct, then even once the war was over the Jedi would not be allowed to return to their status before the war. They were servants of the Force not glorified soldiers or guards, but that was exactly the role he'd played over the last three years. He could not keep going on that way.
"You've got that far away look again, Pretty Boy," Sas said softly. "You don't have to promise me that."
With a soft sigh, Obi-Wan pressed his forehead back against Sas'. He wanted to promise her that. He wished he could give her more, she deserved more. "Perhaps it is a bit dramatic," he answered with a small smile.
"Only slightly more dramatic than what I'm used to from you," she teased. "Just don't give up on yourself so easily."
"I won't," he promised, before gently tilting her chin up and capturing her lips in a kiss. And you don't give up on us, he found himself thinking as he cradled her against him. Her soft lips moved  hesitantly against his, like she was still thinking about his promise, or she was waiting for something to happen. After a few moments, she leaned into his touch and he could feel the tension melt away between them. He felt her flingers tug at his robes as she pulled herself closer to him.
“I love you,” she mumbled against his lips, her hand sliding down over his back to wrap around his shoulder. Sas was always one to hold on tight, to hold on a little longer than she should, and Obi-Wan normally didn’t mind it, but something felt different this time. Something about the way her fingers clutched at his robe, like each brush of their lips could possibly be their last. It wasn’t until he felt the tear slip onto his palm against her cheek, that he fully understood what she was thinking at that moment. Of course He could feel her worry, her fear, and the longing that radiated from Sas, but the missing piece clicked into place finally. She had nearly lost him before, on plenty of missions, but this was the first time since Fives’ death that they had been separated on a mission, the first time he truly, nearly died since then. Of course she was thinking about what had happened to Jankari and Fives, what happened with Pyrrha and Rex after she followed his leads. Obi-Wan felt the chill lingering in the back of his mind seep into his chest. He was not meant to survive the Invisible Hand.
Promises to return home were just as dangerous as a loaded blaster. Making such a promise was simply daring someone to pull the trigger and rip them apart. The Jedi taught that anticipating the future too much could distract from things happening in the moment. Obi-Wan understood that, and found himself turning to that reminder  more frequently. However, Sas had seen too many future hopes collapse to ever feel comfortable thinking about it. She didn’t think or plan for her future because she was afraid to lose it. She was afraid to lose him.
Pulling away slightly, Obi-Wan once again pressed his lips to her forehead. “I love you too, Sas. I love you so much.” A small smile pulled at Obi-Wan’s lips as Sas nestled her head against his shoulder and neck. Holding Sas was like sitting in the warm glow of a campfire. Her spirit could melt the frost that settled in his chest. “I am sorry for worrying you, Darling,” he assured her. He didn’t promise her that he would always come back to her, instead he just held her tighter as the landing platform came into sight of the view port.
For just a brief moment the shadow passed over his mind again. He would need to deliver his report among many other things that needed to be discussed with the Chancellor’s most recent proposal. However the weight on his chest lifted almost immediately when Sas shifted to look up at him again. No matter what, even if he galaxy was falling apart, she would stand with him through it all.
"One more kiss, before we go back to pretending," Sas said, pulling him for a kiss before the transport landed on the loading platform. She was more urgent and hungrier than their previous kiss, but he was more than eager to match her needs. He pulled away breathless and yet still felt like he broke the kiss too soon. She shifted off his lap and gave his hand a squeeze as the shuttle landed. Thankfully there weren’t nearly as many people on the landing deck of the Temple as there had been at the Senate building. No one was actually there to greet them, most were clones or Jedi hurrying by taking care of their own business. Despite being surrounded by his people, and so much of what normally made him feel safe and at ease in his life, Obi-Wan couldn’t help but feel the nagging in the back of his mind. Even as Sas walked him to the med bay, the distance between them seemed immeasurable. He couldn’t explain it, nor was he sure he really wanted to at that moment. Instead, as a medical droid took a scan of his head wound, Obi-Wan felt the warmth of Sas’ kiss on his lips, and the weight of the unspoken promise he intended to keep.

Rey Gives No F*cks About the Grandfather Paradox
Okay so since nobody’s suggested a fic under these terms, I ended up expanding on this post on discord and things snowballed. We kept to the basics of the entire plot revolving around Rey really hating her grandad and leveraging her blood relation to not be unalived about it.
With contributions by @atagotiak, @dracothulhu, @thepallaspalace, and several others. The title comes from @gelpenss.
The basic thing I absolutely need is this: Rey gets thrown back to the middle of the clone wars, and the subsequent plot leans in really heavily on her being, genetically-via-clone-dad, the daughter of the guy running the entire galaxy.
Nobody knows what to do with her.
The timing is mid-TCW for the past (because I want Ahsoka there) and vaguely between Episodes 8 and 9 because I... never watched E9 and don’t want to worry about the timeline. The only things that matter is that Luke is dead (he can die as he did in canon) and that Rey knows she’s Palp’s granddaughter (not the way she does in canon).
We'll say Luke found out from Anakin's panicked force-ghost and just went "well, fuck, okay, I should tell her this before she ends up in a situation like mine and finds out mid-battle or something."
Luke, prior to time-travel: Okay, so, now that I'm dead I know some things I didn't before. Like who your parents were. In the interest of full disclosure because I was in a very similar situation and I don't want you learning the way I did, I'm just going to come right out and say that your father was a clone was Sheev Palpatine. Rey: ... Luke: Are you okay? Rey: I don't know who that is.
(She grew up on Jakku, the history education was a little subpar.)
Setting The Scene
Imagine Rey showing up during or immediately before the clone wars. There’s this phenomenally powerful feral teenager from a desert backwater who tells you that if you ran a paternity test, it would probably pop up the Chancellor. She may or may not bring up cloning. She accuses said Chancellor of being a Sith Lord.
Your other phenomenally powerful feral teenager from a desert backwater, who may not be a teenager anymore but only barely, is very offended by this because Palpatine’s a Very Nice Old Grandfather Figure, but also he’s a little full of side-eye because if the blood test comes back as proof, then Palpatine had a kid and didn’t even know about them, or lied to Anakin, and that’s! Bad! Family’s important!!!
Palpatine hears about this daughter he apparently? Has? And is very confused because the timing doesn’t match up with ANYTHING he was doing, so the kid isn’t natural, and he says as much. (There is an explanation! It’s not a correct explanation, but he does come up with one.)
Finn and Poe and BB-8 all get dragged along because why not have the gang there? Nobody that’s already born, because [handwave] conservation of souls or something, IDK, point is the only person dragged along that’s even remotely close to already existing is Luke’s Force Ghost, who mostly hangs around begging Rey to be less impulsive. Finn is good because he is a nice polite boy, but for actual useful information they need Poe. The unfortunate situation is that the three do not land together. They land at the same time, in completely different corners of the galaxy. This means that nobody is there to curb Rey being her most impulsive self.
Time travel Rey knows two things. Luke’s dad ends up evil. Palpatine has always been evil.
She can solve one of these problems by killing the other, yes?
Rey: Ready to Rumble
See, the initial idea was this: Rey tried to break into the senate to kill Palpatine, got arrested, and then used the "he's biologically my father" card to get out of jail free. (Force Ghost Luke follows her like “please take five seconds to think this through.”)
But.
But.
It would be very, very, very funny if The Force just dumps her in a flash of light in the senate building and she just attacks Gramps on sight. Just a shouted "YOU!" and no-hesitation attempted murder.
Palpatine has no idea what's going on.
Rey took maybe two seconds to get identity confirmation and then started swinging.
Tumblr media
[Image Description: An individual in a green metal helmet with an eye slit, holding a pistol. In the upper left, upper right, and lower middle are the phrases “I do not know who I am...” “I don’t know why I’m here” and “All I know is that I must kill.” End description.]
Of course, she gets arrested. There are Master Jedi in the Senate. There are Clone Troopers. Palpatine isn’t the weak old man he pretends to be. Of course she’s stopped.
But she isn’t executed in time for Palpatine to stop her from ruining his entire reputation.
Immediately after Rey fails to kill her Shitty Granddad, Luke's ghost shows up and begs her to not talk about the Sith thing because it will completely undermine everything she's trying to do. Pass off the attempted murder as something else!
Rey, panicking: "that fucker left me on a desert planet for 10 years!" "You owe me 19 years of child support you son of a Hutt!"
The Jedi have to do the investigation, because the girl showed up with a laser sword, and the conversation is, uh... interesting. (“Where did you get that lightsaber?” “I got it from a mysterious old pirate lady I never met before. I don't know, I was being shown around by a smuggler and a Wookie.”)
Interviewer: Why did you try to assassinate the Chancellor? Luke: Say it wasn't assassination. Rey: It wasn't assassination. Int: You weren't trying to kill him? Luke: Assassination has to be politically motivated. Rey: This was, um... not political. Assassination is political, right? Int: You mean this was personally motivated? Rey: Yes. Int: I see. What personal motivation? Luke: Jakku! Rey: He's my grandfather. Int: ... Rey: Possibly father. Nobody was very clear on that. Int: ... Luke: Tell them to run a paternity test. Rey: Oh hey, a blood test would tell us which, right? Int: ............ Rey: I spent ten years as an orphaned scrapdealer on Jakku. He's my father. I'm kind of a little angry. Int: ........... Luke: Good job, kid. You bought yourself some time. Int: I'm going to get a medic to see about that parternity test.
Obviously, it comes back positive. Congratulations, Sheev, you’re the father.
Rey comes with a ready-made built-in excuse for hating Palpatine that nobody can question or fault her for!
Rey, pouring Truth into the Force: I didn't even know I was related to the Chancellor until a few months ago, but it's his fault I grew up the way I did, and he should take some responsibility!
The entire thing is mostly kept hush hush but someone leaks it to the press and Palpatine's ratings tank.
"Chancellor, I think we'll need to waive family visitation until she wants you a little less dead." "I would like to find out why she wants me dead, and indeed, where she came from." "...sir, for your own safety--"
Who would win? A master plan years in the making spanning decades of manipulating and work? or One (1) paternity test
"Okay, so, Rey Palpat--" "Ew, no, I don't want his name." "You--okay. Sure, we can understand that. Is there a name you would prefer to put on the paperwork?" Rey, who would have gone by Skywalker in honor of Luke but can't do that when Anakin is right there and all: "Can I think about it?"
Rey: I don't know what I want my last name to be but I know I don't want his, and most of the people I’d want a name from have famous families like you... Luke's ghost, pointing out the Literal Nobody that she cares about a lot: How about Solo? Rey: ...Solo, then.
(A few months later she runs into Poe again and he offers for Finn and Rey to both take his name because honestly they need SOMETHING but at that point she’s already decided on Smuggler Dad.)
Backtrack a bit. We’ve got a bigger cast.
They all arrive separately. Poe, for one, does better than Rey, who is aiming for a murder, but not quite as well as Finn, who is currently being adopted and hidden like a secret cat by a bunch of Alpha Clones on Kamino. He vibes with the names-or-numbers thing. He doesn’t necessarily tell them where and when he’s from, but he’s very sweet and a great liar and they adopt him wholesale anyway.
The Finn situation is just... "Buir Ti, we need you to hide this man, we've decided he's our little brother but if Nala Se finds out she'll make him leave."
Of course, this leads into Shaak Ti teaching Finn how to Jedi.
Maybe consider Finn needing to almost be tricked into learning Jedi things because he willfully forgets it could apply to him. Finn does not like to think of himself as special, which is super valid, but frustrating for Shaak Ti when it comes to, you know, getting him to acquire knowledge. Finn's training at some point is "here, levitate objects with the Force to entertain the tubies." It’s a lot easier to convince him to practice when it involves the babies.
(Everyone on Kamino looked at Finn and went “oh I love him I’m keeping him and teaching him things.”)
(He’s just very lovable.)
Poe, meanwhile, buys the trust of Anakin Skywalker via R2D2 declaring BB-8 the absolute most baby of droids. R2D2 met BB-8 three hours ago but.
"Hey Obi-Wan this is Poe I met him like five days ago but R2D2 says he checks out because his droid is a baby." "That's nice, Anakin, did you know the Chancellor has a daughter who tried to assassinate him in broad daylight yesterday? Because guess who had to stop the Chancellor from getting assassinated by his daughter in broad daylight yesterday."
A summary so far:
Finn, on Kamino: Hey, um, I don't know where this is, but it's not where I was a few minutes ago. Do you think you could get me a comm? What's your name? Poe, on [dice roll] Denon: Oh, hey, you're General Skywalker? Nice to meet you, I'm so sorry about my droid, she's a little excitable and thought your R2 unit looked like a friend of hers-- Rey, on Coruscant: DIE, GRANDFATHER
Finn: [Peacefully vibing on Kamino, unaware of the chaos and bonding with the clones] Poe: [Trying to explain how he knows someone who tried to kill the chancellor and defend Rey] Rey: [Arrested for trying to kill the chancellor]
Just... just...
Anakin: Some guy ended up lost on base yesterday with his droid, how’s your day going? Obi-Wan: I had to stop someone who claims to be the chancellors daughter from murdering the chancellor after she seemingly blinked into existence in the Senate building. Poe: 😐
(Poe: Oh, so that's where Chaos^2 went.)
Poe: In her defense, she is his... well we don't know if she's his daughter or granddaughter, but she's definitely related to him, and she definitely grew up in a shitty situation that was his fault, so...
(Poe is trying very hard to explain this and not get arrested on the military base.)
As you’ve probably guessed, what's especially funny about all of this for me is the fact that Palpatine is fully aware that this girl shouldn't exist, but can't find a single piece of evidence about where she came from. He didn't start any experiments that could result in a female child, and he didn't have sex in that period of time, so where the hell--
Rey spends so much time in jail... BUT they do eventually assign her a Jedi Master. Possibly before she actually proves her evil grandfather is in fact evil. Most votes went to either Plo Koon or Obi-Wan. Plo, because he’s dad-shaped, and Obi...
"Obi-Wan, you already raised one feral desert child with implausible amounts of power, you handle this." Rey in return is very "Sweet, you vaguely remind me of Master Luke," and nobody knows who the hell she's talking about. Obi-Wan is NOT on board with this plan, she'd really be better off with Plo or like........ Mace.
Reunion Tour
What I need out of this is the eventual Finn and Rey reunion scene that is just excited screaming while someone in the background explains to Shaak Ti that yes this is apparently Palpatine's terrifyingly force-sensitive daughter who hates him.
(Finn senses Rey’s approach and just. Gathers the everyone to wait. He’s just :D REY MY FRIEND REY GUYS MY FRIEND REY IS COMING.)
Anakin shows up with Poe--just a guy who signed on to the military, no big deal--and then Poe and Rey are EXCITED and everyone's just like "Cool, how do you know this literal terrorist child?" And Poe has to scramble and "Uhhhhhhhhhhhh she saved my droid from a scrapheap once and BB-8 is basically my child so I owe her one."
Rey knows that Anakin ends up evil so she’s maybe not actively hostile but definitely very “I’m watching you.” That said, she vibes with him on a lot of things that he maybe doesn’t actively notice.
Rey picks up a snake, snaps off the head for venom avoidance, and starts biting off chunks. Obi-Wan's reaction: [undisguised horror] Anakin and Ahsoka: Ooh, where'd you find that? (Obi-Wan: And now I’m up to three feral children.)
What Does Palpatine Even Do?
OBVIOUSLY at a certain point, Palpatine is just phoning up every ally he has to figure out who broke protocol to synthesize a daughter for him.
So of course, Palpatine blame Plagueis.
She'd have been born five or so years before Naboo, just a few years younger than Anakin. It's such an EASY theory to build a conspiracy around. It is ENTIRELY WRONG, but it’s plausible! And anyone who might have been involved to say otherwise is probably dead!
A random bio-kid shows up you can’t possibly have contributed genes to? Maybe it’s the evil bio spark that did it.
Palpatine tries to placate her with the ‘my genes were stolen for an experiment and I didn’t know’ thing. It doesn’t work because her actual main complaint is he’s evil in her future but he tries.
It'd be a struggle to even get access to her, because of the aforementioned “maybe don’t try to talk to the daughter(?) that hates you” thing, but you know who Palpatine does have access to? The Chosen One.
Rey kind of decides on her favorites early on (she gravitates to Dad Energy and Sad Old Men so Plo and Obi-Wan are on her list, and that means decent time around Anakin and Ahsoka). It's really easy to talk Anakin into helping to some degree because "he'd like to connect to a daughter he never knew" and "a child of her power on a planet like that, you'd know her struggle, my dear boy" and so on. Anakin tries to connect! He tries to play up Sheev’s kind political work and how it can’t have really been his fault! It doesn’t work. Rey does not believe a word of it. Mostly she doesn’t even seem to hear him.
Rey's just like "...oh right, you're the melted mask that Kylo Ren was always ranting about," which means absolutely NOTHING to Anakin, but he mentions it to Palps, who loses his goddamn mind trying to figure out what she's talking about, because it also means absolutely nothing to him.
Here’s the thing: Rey’s already decided that Obi-Wan is cool, because Luke said so, and Plo Koon is dad-shaped, and she also gravitates towards earnest kindness in general, like she made friends with Finn real quick, so Ahsoka? Already getting along great.
She doesn’t dislike Anakin, really, he isn’t evil yet, he’s just... meh. She’s a little suspicious and she likes him less than the others but... Anakin.
Rey, to Anakin: You are my least favorite. Anakin, to Palpatine: YOUR DAUGHTER HATES ME???
And he goes from “she’s a lil standoffish” to “she doesn’t like me” to “she hates me” as is normal for Anakin.
It’s just an escalation of this one time Palpatine wants Anakin to not have rifts and trust issues with a person, at least not until later, because he needs information.
Meanwhile, that very moment, Rey is just like "huh, nobody here is listening to me about how make a sixth-hand carburetor work, where's Luke's dad?"
Anakin is venting to Palpatine about how hard it is to talk to Rey, and she's over in the Temple just like "Hey, that guy was useful last time, I should ask him," but also she only ever thinks of him as Luke's Dad.
(At one point, Obi-Wan is having a bit of a break down, and then Anakin starts having a breakdown about that, meanwhile the clones are (badly) trying to hide Finn behind their backs, Rey is watching Ahsoka practice and being like "I want two lightsabers," and Poe is trying to keep R2 from stealing BB-8 and Force Ghost Luke is just face palming in the background.)
(Rey deserved a saber staff, maybe one that can detach and turn into a jar’kai set. Possibly a pike. Mostly I just wish she got more chances to whack things with a big stick.)

OK SO, I have a SW oc who's been through the wringer and had multiple changes of designs time and time again, called Valdis. But in the end, she's wound up as a plant based life form that's incredibly sensitive to the force, but not capable of using it like jedi, just able to feel the ways of the universe and be connected to those who came before &...
Her people have a harsh life cycle where they can absorb life force from others in order to return it to the force [ie, killing someone by releasing their energy back into the galaxy] their body decomposes & they die, to leave behind a small bud or flower and phoenix style grow back to life, if the right conditions are met, with their last time alive more like a whisper or memory than a part of their current life time.
The sith in the past were aware that these beings caused a potential threat to their power since they seemed to most often target those with connection to the Dark Side, so Valdis' people were systematically wiped out, but... one flower remained alone and forgotten for a long time...
On a mission with his padawan to investigate an odd SOS call, Anakin discovers the flower and actually takes it to gift to PadmĂŠ &... by accident, the two take care enough of the flower that it turns into a young baby plant girl. She hadn't been alive in human-like form in so long that she couldn't remember anything of her past lives. Anakin & PadmĂŠ name her and treat her like a member of their little family with Ahsoka and Obi-wan too.
Anyways ANYWAYS, in the current time, Valdis turns herself in to the First Order and states that she needs to speak with Kylo Ren. Her pleas go unheard, but because there seems to be no rational reason this weird being decided to try to turn herself in, after being told about her, Kylo Ren shows up at her cell to interrogate the plant girl.
There, she tells him that his grandfather asked for her to keep a watch over his family line and she's here to protect Ben - startling Kylo since she shouldn't even know his original identity. She claims she had been guided by the force to him had unfortunately reverted back to her flower form sometime before Anakin became a sith, so she clearly has a huge gap in memory there & doesn't seem to have ever met Luke or Leia, but just the same, Valdis is determined to help Kylo Ren any way possible.
Snoke seemed to know SOMETHING is up with this plant lady following around Kylo all the time, so he ordered those of his highest ranking officials to keep and eye on them and ensure no force‐unbalancing fuckery was about to take place.
Honestly, Hux ignores this order, since this gal is keeping Ren away from bothering him and it's quite nice this way with Ren at an all time low for having his melt downs and force attacking his Forst Order peons lol. But, when Ren, Valdis, & Hux are all called before Snoke with a large number of guards waiting there, as if they were ready to attack, and Snoke reveals what the girl is and that Kylo Ren must kill her and strike her down, or else he may risk being destroyed by her, well...
Valdis insists again that she's here to help Ben, and would not hurt him, but after passing on a true message from ghost Anakin to Kylo not to let the Dark Side control him, he breaks from rank and attacks Snoke. By the moment the guards jump to, it's not enough to have killed Snoke, but Valdis uses her powers and connection with the force to evaporate most of the people in the room while Ren strikes the final blow on the fallen Supreme Leader.
Anyways, Kylo Ren dives to the side of his new companion, who tells him she knows something bigger is happening in the force before she swiftly falls apart to soil in his hands, leaving behind a small bulb. He's only broken out of his sad reverie by a squeak of fear from Hux, who miraculously, was the only person left in the room who survived the whole ordeal for some unknown reason.
Unsure of how to proceed, but very aware that something fucky had been going on with his own falling at Snoke's side, Kylo carefully pockets the bulb and grabs Hux by the wrist, deciding they need to make a run for it and fast. There had to be a reason Valdis left Hux alive, so he decided to figure it out after they got away.
Kylo forces a confused & terrified Hux, who's still being sassy and difficult as hell the WHOLE time, into his TIE Silencer and has to deal with Hux threatening him with great action for kidnapping a First Order general. The two are broken out of their normal bickering by a command issued directly to Kylo's TIE that they are both disobeying something called the "True Order" and must allow themselves to be captured as prisoners or expect to be killed by a fleet of TIE fighters suddenly deployed behind them.
Hux shuts up at once with all this and eagerly begs Ren on, who forces his Silencer through the barrage and makes a lightspeed break for the outer rim.
There, at some small outpost planet, the two go into disguise and agree to work together to figure out what was pulling the strings of this all and get themselves to make their own choices without being forced some way by a shadowy figure.
Along the way, the two nurture the bulb back to life and wind up with baby Valdis to take care of, with Kylo determined not to let anything happen to her again, and the two pull on strings that slowly guide their strange family forward.
The force is in a stage of chaos and needs to be balanced. They may need to work alongside... OTHERs who are force users, but want to delve deeper into the secrets of the galaxy around them before ever considering to reach out to Rey and Finn for help.
Oh, also, Valdis calls them both her dads lol. She's naturally drawn back to Kylo, but Hux starts spoiling her silly to win her affections as well &... after getting tired of Hux trying to find his way into the middle of him and Valdis, Hux admits he's a bit jealous and wants in. Even if he has to play nice with Ren, he wants to have something, now that he's left everything behind in the First Order.
The two share in on their lives to one another &... Kylo realizes Hux has always been living under crazy strict order and known nothing but standing in line and doing as he must. Not as he would LIKE to do.
The Solo blood in Ren takes over and he sees this rule-following jerk and starts becoming interested in trying to break Hus out of his old ways and get him to get used to living this bottom dwelling life as they scrape by from outpost to outpost, getting by just enough for their family unit to keep together.
And... things happen & by the time Kylo Ren makes unwilling contact with Rey & friends, he's toting along his husband and their adopted plant child too to the confusion of everyone involved lmaooo
And AND:
If anyone reads down this far, I am kissing you directly on the mouth, holy fucking shit I love you so much♡
Anyways, anyone wanna hear about the dumb AU I'm reviving where after Kylo Ren kills Snoke, he & Hux end up on the run with a small force-sensitive plant girl as their daughter? :P

So I have this headcanon that after Cody adopts this little mutated CT cadet with something to prove to be his official Little Brother™️ and Alpha-17 is just like “yeah okay so this is happening”, all the other CC class clones in Cody’s batch also end up adopting Rex to be the official Little Brother™️. And even though they aren’t quite as open about it, Fox, Bly, Wolffe, and Ponds are just as protective of Rex as Cody is but they’re better at hiding it. Fox in particular is a little gruff and a little rough with emotions so he doesn’t always know how to show he cares but he calls Rex “blondie” and smirks when the kid sasses Cody and Wolffe and stands in the background and glares at anyone, even the long necks, who tries to mess with his vod’ika just for being who he is. And it’s okay because Rex will smile that megawatt grin at him and Fox knows that he’s doing right by his brother.
And then after they all get their assignments, Fox has to deal with the anxiety and stress that comes with watching all his brothers go off to fight in the war while he’s stationed on Coruscant running the Guard and protecting the Chancellor. And of course it doesn’t help that he’s working directly under a Sith Lord, he sees the darker mechanizations that go on in the background, hears the words that are said behind closed doors, the plans that are made under the table, but what is there that he can do about it when he’s just a clone? Who would believe one lowly clone versus the Chancellor of the Galactic Republic.
Not to mention, Palpatine doesn’t need the chip in Fox’s brain to control him, not at first. The Jedi would never use the Force to get the clones to do their bidding, but Palpatine has no problem subtly controlling his commander, gaslighting him, making him question whether what he saw or heard was real or not, makes him forget long swaths of time where if Fox thinks too hard about it it just gives him a headache and makes his hands shake and his skin break out in a cold sweat. We saw the way Fox flinched back from Anakin in To Catch a Jedi not just once, but twice, and Fox doesn’t work enough with the Jedi to know that Anakin might be angry but he wouldn’t hurt Fox, especially when he’s seen how close Anakin is to the Chancellor. His only true experience with the Force is the Dark Side, even if he doesn’t recognize it as such.
Fast forward to an abandoned warehouse on Coruscant. He doesn’t really remember much about how he got here or what he’s doing. All he knows is that his men are stony and quiet around him and Rex, his little blondie, is on the ground clutching Fives, the fugitive, Rex’s vod’ika, sobbing into his chest where the blaster bolt wound is still burning and Fox is holding the smoking blaster.
He tries to talk to Rex, to figure out what the hell had happened, what the hell did Fox do, why wasn’t his blaster set to stun, why wasn’t his blaster set to stun—
Commander Fox, execute ARC-5555. Make sure he is not taken alive.
But his men are pulling him back, telling him they need to report back to the Chancellor, and Fox watches as General Skywalker leads Rex back to their speeder, gently pries Rex’s hands from Fives body as the Guard take the body away to be disposed of.
When he tells the Chancellor that Fives is dead the man looks grim but his eyes are bright with poorly concealed glee as he nods yes, it is good that such a dangerous traitor has been taken down and is no longer a threat to your brothers or the Republic and Fox’s head throbs and he feels like he’s going to throw up but he nods and leaves the office feeling like he’s missing something, something vital.
He tries to comm Rex but Rex doesn’t answer, even when Fox knows the 501st is back on Coruscant. He tries to talk to Bly or Wolffe or Ponds about it but they weren’t there, they don’t see it, they didn’t see the look in Rex’s eyes as he held his dying brother or the frown on his face when he looked at Fox as Skywalker led him away. He just needs time to process, they tell him, you know how much the twins meant to him and now they’re both gone. But it’s more than that, Fox needs to understand, needs Rex to understand that he would never do this to him on purpose, he would never hurt his little brother like that, would never betray the closest family and the only people he truly trusts in such a way and he doesn’t know why he did it.
Finally Fox gets an incredibly rare day off rotation when the 501st and the 212th are both planet side in the GAR barracks and he decides it’s time to pay his brothers a visit, it’s time to take action and take matters into his own hands. Except when he gets to the GAR and he finds Rex in the mess... Rex looks at him and suddenly looks so exhausted, so drained, so physically pained that it takes Fox’s breath away and he turns and leaves before Rex can open his mouth and say the words that Fox knows are coming but is too much of a coward to let himself hear.
And that’s how Cody finds Fox, dressed in civvies and curled up in a ball on the ground of his room. His body is shaking and his hands are clutching at his long curly hair and he’s hyperventilating near on the verge of tears. He’s so tired, he’s so done, he doesn’t know what to do, there’s nothing he can do—
I don’t know what I’m doing, I can’t keep doing this. I killed Fives. I killed Fives and Rex h-hates me, Rex’ika hates me, I can’t—
And Cody can’t do anything but hold onto him and try to assure him that Rex does not hate him, he’s just hurt and sad and he needs time to process it but he doesn’t hate Fox, could never hate his ori’vod.
But Fox just shakes his head because he knows, he knows something isn’t right and he hurt one of the people he swore on his life he would do anything to protect and he doesn’t know what to do anymore, nothing is right anymore, everything is wrong, it’s all wrong wrong wrong—
And months later, when Rex is flying off that Sith damned moon in his and Ahsoka’s Y-wing, he thinks about Fox, his ori’vod who served under Chancellor Pal— Emperor Palpatine, Lord Sideous — the dispassionate way he told the Guard to shoot down Ahsoka on Coruscant, the blankness in his voice when he told Fives to put the blasters down next to Jesse’s detached voice when he told the 332nd to open fire, the way Fox’s hands shook and the aborted step toward him when Rex walked away with the General, the ignored coms, seeing Fox that day in the mess when he ran before Rex could say anything, and his head throbs and his heart aches when he realizes all these little things, these tiny signs of deceit, of betrayal, had been right there in front of him the whole time, but he’d been too blinded by his feelings to see it.
