My Feemor proposal
A popular headcanon for Feemor is that he's a Jedi Shadow. Shadows are spies and basically detectives. Feemor's lineage has a reputation for being eccentric, infamous, and finding trouble everywhere they go. So, walk with me here, Feemor's an eccentric, famous, blonde detective.
This is Feemor.
#i can't stop giggling over this#sure feemor gets hints from the force but that's not admissible in court so he has to do it the regular way and he's damn good at it#feemor figuring out palpatine is the sith master and his Grand Evil Plan like “it's so dumb it's brilliant!” “NO! it's just dumb.”#many space tweets have been made going#“was anyone going to tell me that galaxy famous detective Feemor is not only a Jedi but brother to a High General AND grandson of DOOKU??”#sound off on who you think should be the phillip to his blanc i personally think it should be a famous space actor ala hugh grant#yeah i think benoit blanc is married to real life actor hugh grant phillip's just his middle name#feemor#star wars

The sith are not an oppressed culture forced underground by the Jedi
They're a deranged cult devoted to creating tyranny which they rule, murdering anyone they deem an enemy, and selfishly indulging in their wants no matter what it costs everyone else

when ppl see this & this, directed by the same person, and think the narrative is "anakin is evil" not "anakin is a steward of the balance, a force demi god, as was foretold on Mortis" 😂
#anakin skywalker#ahsoka#not my gifs#if you havent seen TCW i really feel like stock in your anakin opinion is p low#you need to watch it to get a full picture of his journey and his purpose in the galaxy#he was good and evil#he is quite literally a demi god#he is always and will always be both#his ultimate struggle was wrestling with that and failing it in life bc he couldnt accept it#he was a slave to the destiny the force created him for#he was a slave to the sith#he was a servant of the jedi#he is quintessenially never truly free#he hated and loved the jedi in equal measure#he never loved the sith#he is balanced but OF THE FORCE#he was manipulated by the dark side but he is MADE OF THE FORCE#therefore he will always stand for the force the jedi way and the light#which is why he is a forceghost#star wars#u all know how i get when i put my stanakin shoes on#anyway the ogt and prequels are buddhist allegories and anakin isnt beholden to western concepts of morality in that sense as a character#in a mythic literary epic sense#also obviously he isnt human either#which is a big ring-a-ling

Now and then I have a little giggle when I recall that JJ Abrams made Rey Palpatine's grandkid via some sort of nonsensical cloning plot. It's not the worst thing in the ST but I do think it's emblematic of why it's bad. Signifier without substance. Derivative *and* gutless. Tried to rip off ESB without understanding how the Vader reveal works as a narrative beat, gave Sheev spawn, and didn't even have enough courage of their convictions to admit that he fucks.
Like we all know Vader spent two decades pining gloomily after Padmé. But Palpatine? Sheev Palpatine? The guy whose two modes are smiling smug self-satisfied secret smiles to himself and crowing POWER, UNLIMITED POWER? The guy who cackles with maniacal relish anytime he gets to let his hair down and have a lightsaber fight? That guy is a hedonist. Tell me I'm wrong. That man is at all times enjoying the hell out of being irredeemably evil. He is a literal emperor, the vastly powerful and mostly unchallenged ruler of the galaxy, reveling in a victory he spent many years plotting and scheming for. And they had to invent some half-assed narrative afterthought of a cloning program rather than simply allowing us to assume that at some point in the two+ decades between ROTS and ROTJ, that man got laid? The cowardice. The incompetence. The sheer commitment to taking every conceivable L
#sheev probably fucked somebody on the THRONE#what else was he doing? lounging around the jedi temple and giggling to himself? subjecting vader to awful medical procedures for fun?#he has people to rule the galaxy with an iron fist dude is fully living his best life watching operas and doing lil sith research projects#i'm sorry i just find this SO funny. literally what is the point of the cloning shit except the creators nervously wringing their hands#and assuring us that we don't have to contemplate the evil toad man/walking corpse in bed#COMMIT TO THE BIT COWARDS#obvs i'm being a bit facetious but i'm also not#star wars#palpatine#my posts#also#on writing

Let's briefly talk about this scene.
It starts with Anakin lamenting how the Clone War corrupted the Jedi and the principles of the Republic.
Now, Padmé thinks she and Anakin are talking about the same thing: this war is corrupting the Jedi and the principles of the Republic and Palpatine doesn't seem to want to put an end to it, instead increasingly amassing power.
She asks Anakin to get Palpatine to cease the fighting and let diplomacy resume. And Anakin. Gets. Triggered.
Why?
Well, firstly... it's because they weren't talking about the same thing.
1. What Anakin really means when talking about "the principles of the Republic".
While Anakin may say that he's concerned for the corruption of the Jedi Code and the principles of the Republic... he isn't really.
Anakin has a track record of saying he supports abstract principles and concepts, then complaining when standing by that hurts him.
Like when he'll preach that wartime forces him to make hard choices, duty over emotion...
... but then gets mad when someone else makes the hard choice in doing their duty, and it hits close to home.
There's this line Matthew Stover wrote in the ROTS novelization, which I think is very relevant:
“I think," Obi-Wan said carefully, "that abstractions like peace don't mean much to him. He's loyal to people, not to principles. And he expects loyalty in return. He will stop at nothing to save me, for example, because he thinks I would do the same for him.”
Anakin isn't about abstractions like "peace", "duty" or "democracy". He'll say he is, because he knows he should be, in theory... but, in practice, he's more loyal to people than to principles.
And right now, he's very loyal to Palpatine. Arguably more than anyone else. No matter how blatantly he acts like a dictator, Anakin stays on his side.
So whenever he uses the words "Senate" and "Republic", what he means is "Palpatine". To him, they're one and the same.
He loves Palpatine very much but the two other people he loves, Padmé and Obi-Wan, are both telling him Palpatine's bad news.
Which brings us to the second reason he gets triggered...
2. He's under an enormous amount of stress.
He's barely had any sleep since his nightmare about Padmé and is now scared at the prospect of losing her like he lost his mother.
He's been on an emotional roller-coaster with the Council, first being put on the Council, but not as a Master, then being given a mission but it's a mission to spy on a mentor and father figure. Now he's not even sure the Jedi trust him and he's not even sure they should, after his outburst.
Also Padmé herself is asking him to tell Palpatine to stop, criticizing the Chancellor just like the Jedi do.
It's understandable that he's on edge. That said... a huge chunk of this stress isn't Padmé or the Council's fault. It has been manufactured by Palpatine.
He appointed Anakin to be his representative on the Council specifically because he knew it would put Anakin under pressure... pressure he can exploit for his own gain.
That's what Palpatine does. He orchestrates pressure then swoops in, in the guise of a savior.
With the Republic, he does this by engineering a war then bringing about order (to the chaos he caused) as an Emperor.
With Anakin, he does this by engineering conflict between him and his family - Padmé, Obi-Wan, the Jedi - then presenting himself before Anakin as the solution to all his problems.
From that point on, he enables the Republic and Anakin to give in to the worse parts of themselves and implode.
The former goes from being a democracy to a dictatorship, the latter goes from being a sweet kid to a bad man.
#And if we wanna get technical he does this with Naboo as well#first he sicks the Trade Federation on the planet#then he uses the opportunity to become Chancellor and bravely “stand up for the little guy and punish the evil Viceroy of a corporation!”#Anakin Skywalker#Sheev Palpatine#Darth Sidious#Star Wars#Revenge of the Sith#meta#sw meta#padmé amidala

One spicy scene left to write in this fic and then finally done wooooooo!
A little snippet that I’ve probably shared in the past:
“So the entire army is a time bomb, one that could be pointed at anyone deemed an enemy at any time.”
“People, whole planets, political—”
Something cold crawled down Cody’s spine as he considered the possibilities. “The Jedi.”
Obi-Wan froze and raised an eyebrow. “The Jedi? There was nothing about them on the list.”
“You said it was partially corrupted, so the data may be incomplete. And if you’re a Sith Lord and you already have control of… everything, who could possibly threaten your power?”
Obi-Wan considered the idea for several moments before dropping onto the bed with a thud. “The people you put in charge of an army they now trust with every bit of their hearts and souls, one you could have turn on them at any moment.”
“It’s a sound strategy, one unlikely to fail.”
“Your mind for strategy is quite terrifying, my dear.”
“You told me you liked it.”
“I do not know how I feel about you entertaining more sinister ideas than even I possess.”

No small part of Legends seems determined to make the Jedi look bad and the Sith look good. Considering the Sith are inspired by nazis and fascists, it's both funny and deeply concerning.
But I digress.
One of these attempts is the character Darth Vectivus, a human male Dark Lord of the Sith during the time of the Galactic Republic, when the Sith are in hiding. Apparently, he's a man with friends, with a family he loves and who love him back, a regular job… He's a perfectly normal guy, a perfectly mundane dude among thousands of megalomaniacs.
His first appeareance is as a ghost (some funky Dark Side thingy he created, btw), when he's trying to convince a Jedi (don't remember this one, I think it was a girl?) to strike him down. This is because these ghosts are connected to a living being, if the ghost is striken down, the being they're connected to dies. Vectivus is connected to Jacen Solo, who's on the edge of falling to the Dark Side. Apparently, Vectivus does not want a galaxy ruled by the kind of Sith Jacen Solo (or rather Darth Caedus) would become.
But, unlike other attempts at making the Sith look good in the EU, I actually like this guy. Why? Mostly for the funnies, not gonna lie. This Dark Lord of the Sith, the ultimate villain of the SW universe… is a perfectly normal guy with the same problems in his life as the rest of us.
Vectivus didn't know he was Force sensitive until his adulthood when, while doing Business™️, he and his employees came across a Dark Force nexus inside one of the mines they were working in. Fascinated by the power he could feel, he disolved his business, gave compensation to his employees, and went to search for the surviving Sith who could teach him. However, despite his Sith training, he remains a perfectly normal guy who lives a perfectly mundane life until his death, when he dies surrounded by friends and family. It's hilarious, can you imagine his Master's face? The sheer dissapointment?
He has restrain and moral standards. For example, he seems to be a decent boss and doesn't exploit his employees, cares for his friends and family and, just by guessing, isn't a complete asshole to his Apprentice since, whoever they are, they opt not to kill him despite the existance of the Rule of Two.
And yet… we find out he's still economically predatory, he still abuses his powers to harm and profit over rivals, and generally win at business. He isn't causing harm to those close to him, but he's still harnessing the Dark Side to hurt others.
That's the whole point, the Dark Side is always corruptive. Darth Vectivus is just less corrupted than most Sith.
That's it, that's what I like the most about the guy. He seems normal, is normal in a way… and yet he's still an evil bastard, only the regular evil bastard we find in our daily lives instead of the murderous crazy no-sense-of-restrain kind of Evil Bastard™️ we're used to see in a Sith.
It's… a bit of a grim reminder that evil is everywhere, in everyone, including you, and it can take many forms. That even the most kind-seeming people can be evil.
On the other side, the people he's murdered are… zero. Nonexistant, zero, nada. He's killed absolutely nobody. It's actually pretty funny. He's the only non-murderous Sith in existance, literally the only sane man in an Order of fascist megalomaniacs and it's hilarious.
I'm rather glad for his existance, actually, thanks Legends. Mostly because now I can say that I've killed as many people as a Dark Lord of the Sith.
#darth vectivus#sith critical#star wars legends#star wars#this is a pro jedi blog#anti sith#fantasy evil vs plain old evil. doesn't matter. still evil#if I read even a whisper of sith apologia I'm gonna block faster than you can say 'force'#anti sith apologists#the sith are space nazis. this is canon.#so please don't use fascist rethoric to excuse their actions#Legends is guilty of this btw#it's no small part of why I don't consider it canon. the sith and the empire are evil and fucked up#you can add nuances LONG AS THEY ARE STILL EVIL AND FUCKED UP#The Darth Bane trilogy and the Darth Plagueis novel do this pretty well. The sith are people... just evil and fucked up people#my only problem with the Bane trilogy is its portrayal of the Jedi. Wtf do you mean THE HEROES USE CHILD SOLDIERS?!?!#anyways. let's leave it here. I don't want to get into a rant about Sith and Jedi in Legends

Palpatine’s Thoughts on How the Jedi Treated Anakin
Here’s another small section from Then Fall, Sidious. Here, we see Palpatine’s thoughts on the Jedi and their treatment of Anakin. Obviously, he doesn't think very highly of them.
I like how he calls out their hypocrisy and the flaws in their code, as well as in their behavior toward Skywalker. I especially love lines like, “They tore you from the only safety you had known and then they told you to be grateful. They told you to be peaceful and yet mistrusted you, letting fear make a mockery of their own code” and “What a mantle (an important role or responsibility) they placed on you and yet withheld from your own grasp. How eager you were, how trusting, how corrupted by insincerity (the quality of not expressing genuine feelings) and lies. How tormented by the loss they did not allow you to feel.” Those comments imply that he had some genuine compassion for Anakin, since he was emotionally limited, under the Jedi and wanted better for him.
Let me know what you think.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuck off and fuck you leslye headland
According to a collider interview headland believes the Jedi represent straight men oppressing the Sith who represent queer women who just want to be free
The Jedi-a diverse, predominantly East Asian-inspired culture (with elements of Islam, Judaism, and other cultures) who preach tolerance, peace and acceptance-are oppressive straight (christian, she doesn't say it but it's obvious that's what she's implying) men
And the sith-a nazi inspired (the sith code is literally based off of mein kampf) death cult that believes they are the superior life forms of the universe and that they are entitled to kill take or enslave whomever and whatever they want because of their strength-are actually the poor oppressed queer women trying to be free
Y'know I don't know what's more insulting
Is it the intentional likening of the Jedi to homophobic bigots?
Or is it the blundering stupidity of likening queers to the space nazis?
