Summary: Since your brother was now gone, Harry was the only person that mattered to you
A/N: Welcome to book places one year event!!; This is a part 2 for Potter Twins
Inspired by: American Pie by Don McLean
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Long long time ago, I can still remember how that music used to make me smile
Slowly, your eyes opened and tried to adjust to the light streaming through the windows directly at you, as if on purpose to wake you up.
Stifling a groan, you sat upright and dropped your head into your hands, not wanting to face the day. Not another one. You didn’t know how much longer you could do it without your brother by your side. And it had only been a month.
The singular thought keeping you going was the thought that one day you would be able to get Harry back, your last link to James and your only surviving family member.
It had been a struggle tracking him down, it was as if he had disappeared off the face of the earth. But you weren’t yet ready to give up.
You had meant it, you would find the boy. Even if it was the last thing you ever did.
And I knew if I had my chance, that I could make those people dance
Picking up the Daily Prophet, you shoveled a spoonful of eggs into your mouth and began reading.
The news had long since slowed down, and tried to move on from the war by talking about it. As if that would erase it from everyone else’s memory. As if it never happened.
It was quite boring, the new players for a quidditch team, some Ministry of Magic mishap with the muggle thing called hand sanitizer mixed with a hair growing potion.
But then you got to the last page.
The reporters finally got a full list of everybody that passed on during the war. Names on random spots of the page jumped at your eyes in sharp, dangerous pangs.
James Potter. Lily Potter. Marlene McKinnon. Fabian Prewett. Gideon Prewett-
You harshly pushed away from the table, not paying any mind to the high pitched scraping sound it made against the floor, and your breathing picked up.
You couldn’t do this, you couldn’t be here, not without them. Not without them. Not without them. Not without-
Harry.
You needed to find Harry. He was the only thing that would keep you grounded. And if you didn’t find him soon, you don’t know what you would do. What you would live to regret.
And maybe they'd be happy for a while
After finishing buttoning up your cloak, you let out a sigh, slowly letting your eyes drift to the dresser in the corner of the room, the one that held a picture on its surface.
In it, you were jumping on James’s back making funny faces, stuck in a timeless loop of happiness.
What the camera hadn’t picked up on was Mia and Fleamonts smiling faces behind the flash, capturing the moment for all of eternity.
It was one of the only photos you could stomach to keep on display.
But February made me shiver
Finally. You had finally done it.
Frozen, you stood before the plain brown door with unseeing eyes and a mile-a-minute mind.
Harry James Potter was sitting just beyond this door.
You had finally been able to track him down with mountains of spells and potions that had taken months to go through. You had a first gone to Dumbledore, hoping he would give you any indication as to where your nephew was, but he offered you nothing, claiming it was safer that way. You had proceeded to storm out of the room, slamming the door harsh enough to shake the walls behind you.
The wind rushed against your skin like a swarm of needles, and you shuddered a little, officially breaking out of your thoughts and you raised your fist to knock on the door.
With every paper I'd deliver
You couldn’t believe your own eyes, not as you stared down at one year old Harry in your arms, staring up at you with wide eyes and an even wider, gummy smile.
You hadn’t wasted another second after standing on the Dursleys doorstep to storm in wand ablaze and demand you take your nephew.
The cowards didn’t even put up a fight as they let you take him, but you wouldn’t complain- you were able to get in and out without any trouble.
Bad news on the doorstep, I couldn't take one more step
“Auny Y/n! Auny Y/n!” Young Harry babbled, making grabby motions with his chubby hands up at you from his crib.
You smiled softly, reaching your arm out and allowing his tiny fingers to wrap around your much larger ones.
The second a knock sounded through your home, your entire body stiffened and your hand automatically went to the wand you kept in your pocket at all times.
Turning on your heel, you left your giggling nephew behind as you slowly crept towards the front door, unsure of what was awaiting you on the other end.
Tentatively, you peered through the small window near the door and let out a sigh of relief, stance automatically relaxing as you opened it to reveal the headmaster of Hogwarts. Though you were still angry with him for not revealing Harry’s location, at least it was him and not anyone else.
“What do you want, Albus?” You asked, long since having stopped using teacher-student formalities.
He looked up at you with sad eyes, “I-“
Harry let out a particularly loud babble behind you, and your body once again stiffened.
What if he tried to take Harry away from you? What if you couldn’t stop him? What if-
“First of all,” His tone softened, “How is young Harry doing?”
You eyed the man skeptically, “He’s doing fine,”
He chuckled lightly, “I assure you, I’m not here to take him away, Miss. Potter.” His words made you calm down once more, “But I am afraid I come bearing bad news.”
It was like someone was playing with an on and off switch with your emotions, allowing you to think everything was okay before flipping the switch teasingly.
“I understand that you haven’t always been the closest with Sirius Black,”
Your eyebrows furrowed, “No,” You admitted, “Not like James is-was, but he’s still my friend.” You cleared your throat slightly at the small error you made.
“I’m afraid Mr. Black has been sent to Azkaban for the murder of Peter Pettigrew.”
You didn’t know if it was possible to have your heart torn into any more pieces than it already had been. But if it was possible, then that’s exactly what happened to you in that moment.
Though you and Sirius hadn’t in fact been very close, you had been there for him when he moved into your house that one summer after things got really bad with his parents. The two of you could always joke around in a class together and be comfortable around each other.
You never could have pictured him killing one of his best friends- even though you barely knew the other boy. From what you saw though, Peter was a sweet and gentle kid that would do anything for his friends. Just like how Sirius used to bed
“I shall leave you alone once more,” Albus declared softly, “And Miss. Potter?” He called after a silent moment. “I truly am sorry for everything.”
You slammed the door in his face.
I can’t remember if I cried, when I read about his widowed bride
For the first time in weeks, you picked up the Daily Prophet after being able to put Harry down for his first nap in a while, that boy was as stubborn as his father.
You casually flipped through the pages, skimming over the sections that went on about quidditch matches finally starting up again after the war. What you hadn’t expected to see, was the grinning faces of your brother and sister in law on the last page.
Your breath caught in your throat and your eyes went wide when you realized that it was a tribute to the two of them from some of their friends from their time in Hogwarts. Some kids that knew them well enough to be friendly, but not enough to have any right to print a long section in the paper about how impactful their lives were.
It felt as though your lungs were closing in on themselves as you stared down with watered eyes at the words. You thought you had gotten over it. You thought you would be able to move on.
But seeing the page-long writing about them pushed you over the edge and you dropped the paper as you collapsed to the ground with a sob.
You reached a hand up to cover your mouth so you wouldn’t wake Harry, who was sleeping soundly in the other room over.
Apparently you weren’t quiet enough though, because Harry’s cries soon joined yours, alerting you of his newly awoken form.
Quickly, you reached up and harshly wiped your tears away. You wouldn’t let your own grief get in the way of taking care of Harry. You were going to do everything in your power to look after the boy to the best of your ability.
“Hey, Harry,” You smiled softly as you entered the room, bending down and scooping him into your arms, “It’s alright, it’s alright. I’m here now.”
But something touched me deep inside, the day the music died
“Auntie! Auntie!” Harry cheered, tripping over his own feet as he stumbled into the room, “Look! Look!”
You raised your head with an amused twinkle in your eyes as you moved your gaze to meet his, “What is it?”
Grinning wildly, he took a large eveleope from behind his back and presented it to you, “It’s my Hogwarts acceptance letter!”
Pride and happiness swelled and whirrled around in your chest and you broke out into a grin that was similar to his, “Oh, good job, Harry!” You cried, wrapping your nephew into a tight hug that he excitedly returned.
“Merlin, I can’t believe I’m going to Hogwarts,” Harry rambled, “I mean, after all the stories you’ve told I feel like I’ve already been there, but it’s still-“
“Harry,” You cut him off with a small laugh, pulling away and putting your hands on his shoulders, “Do you know what this means?”
He shook his head, messy hair that was much like James’s flopping back and forth, “What?” There was curiosity in his voice.
Your grin widened, “It means that we need to take a trip to Diagon Alley!”
The boy let out a cheer, jumping up and down on the balls of his feet.
With that, the two of you took the floo network and began shopping around for any and everything that he could possibly need during his year, all while memories of the past tickled the back of your mind. Of the summers before every September that you and your family would spend roaming these very streets.
As the two of you sat down at a small table with some ice cream, you couldn’t help the small, sad smile you sent Harry’s way.
“Wha’?” He asked through a mouthful of the food.
You shook your head softly, “This just reminds me of times with your father.” You admitted in a small whisper.
He smiled understandably and reached over to squeeze your hand, “It’s alright, Aunt Y/n.” He comforted, “Because you have me now.”
You gave him a teary smile and patted his hand appriciantly, “Thank you, Harry.” You reached over with your other hand and ran it through his messy locks, “I know I do.”
So bye-bye, Miss American Pie
“Your grandmother always used to fuss over me and your father like this,” You mumbled, dusting imaginary lint off of Harry’s shirt, “I can't believe I’m turning into my mother.”
The boy smiled, “Getting more like an old lady every day.” He teased.
You scowled, reached up and lightly slapped him upside the head, “Watch it,” You mockingly scolded, “Or else I’ll make you live in the closet under the stairs when you get home.”
His grin widened and he reached over and wrapped his arms around your waist, “I’ll see you at Christmas.” He mumbled into your shirt.
Harshly, you blinked away tears that had begun to fill your eyes, not wanting to cry in front of your nephew over something as simple as him leaving to go to Hogwarts.
“I shouldn’t be crying, right?” You mumbled into his ear.
He pulled away with a laugh and shrugged, “I don’t mind.”
You smiled at him through your blurry vision and reached up to cup his cheek, “I want you to write all the time. Don’t hesitate to come to me if you need anything. I mean it, Harry.”
“I will.” He promised, hugging you quickly again so you could kiss the top of his head before standing back and picking up his bag, “I better go before the express leaves without me.”
“Yeah, yeah,” You cleared your throat, “Good idea.”
“I love you, Auntie!” He called before disappearing into the crowd.
“Love you too,” You whispered to the empty place he had once been standing in.
“Oh, darling.” The familiar voice of none other than Molly Weasley cooed, making her way over to where you stood and wrapping a comforting arm around your shoulder, “First year is always hard.”
You let out a watery chuckle, “I don’t know how you’ve done this so many times.” You admitted.
“It’s still hard,” She confessed, “But it started to get a bit easier over time.” She turned her head to smile at you, “I’m just glad that Ron and Harry are together.”
You hummed in agreement, glad that he was with the childhood friends that he met in nursery school, causing you and the rest of the family to grow close as well over the years. Well, after they got over the fact that he was The Harry Potter, that is.
“I’m gonna miss him,” You mumbled.
“I know, but he’s going to do so well at Hogwarts. You’re going to be so proud of him.” The woman reassured you.
You smiled at her, “Both of them are gonna make us really proud.” Bringing her son into this as well.
Molly shook her head helplessly, “It’s either that or we will be getting a letter for their expulsion in a week.”
“Fred and George made it this far.” You teased with a small snigger.
She threw her head back with a laugh, “Indeed they did.”
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
You smiled widely at the letter that sat in your hands, reading and rereading everything that Harry had to tell you about his first week at school.
About the new friends he made, the adventures he already had in Gryffindor house, and even some of the enemies he made. Though, you couldn’t fault him for hating any son of Lucius Malfoy.
What you had said to Molly was true, you were going to miss Harry. But Hogwarts would be good for him. He would be able to make memories just like you had. The good and the bad.
Not only that, but he wouldn’t have a war to worry about. He would be able to enjoy being a kid within the walls.
Them good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye
“Happy Christmas!” You and Harry cheered in sync the moment you stepped through the doors of the Burrow, piles of presents in your arms.
“Oh, Happy Christmas!” Molly cried happily, coming around the corner and beginning to help you with everything, “Boys!” She snapped, “Come help the Potters with their things!” Before smiling kindly at the two of you once more, emitting laughs from your lips.
“Thank you, Ron.” You breathed out once he took a particularly heavy wrapped box before turning and nodding in greeting to Arthur, “Happy Christmas.”
“Happy Christmas, yourself.” The man chirped back while grinning and pulling Harry into a quick side hug before ushering the two of you into the living room where the rest of the Weasley children sat.
Quickly, they all scrambled up at the sight of the two of you and you all exchanged hugs and joyful greetings.
“Can we please do the presents now, mum?” Ginny whined, “We’ve been waiting all morning!”
Her mother looked down at her sternly, but you were quick to wrap an arm around Mollys shoulder and smile at her, “Come on, Mol, it’s Christmas!”
“Yeah! Listen to Aunt Y/n!” Fred piped up, George nodding along with his twin.
“Oh, alright,” Even Molly couldn’t hide the smile that sat upon her features as she said it though, “Pass them out, all of you.”
You looked up in surprise and slightly wide eyes when Ron shyly handed you a gift, “This is for you,” He mumbled.
“O-oh, thank you, Ron.” You said genuinely, not having expected anything at all.
As soon as you opened it, tears began to fill your eyes when you saw the contents. It was a sweater with your first initial sewn into it.
“I know I normally just do it for the kids,” Molly spoke, “But I figured you could use one too.”
You bit down on your lip slightly, running a hand gently down the soft fabric. It reminded you of when your own mother used to knit, “Thank you, Mol.” You whispered, thankful that the children were too preoccupied with their own gifts to realize what was going on.
“Oh, come now. Cheer up,” She rubbed your back comfortingly, “It’s Christmas.”
You smiled over at her, leaning your head against her shoulder, “Thank you.” You repeated.
Singing, "This'll be the day that I die"
“What the bloody hell happened?” You demanded as soon as you slammed open the doors to the Hospital Wing and stormed into the room with a cloud of rage sitting over your head.
“Ah, Miss. Potter. So nice of you to join us.” Dumbledore spoke, standing up from beside your nephew's bed, where he lay unconscious. The man spoke in such a way as if you had simply run into each other at the grocery store.
“Cut the bullshit, Albus.” You snapped with a deadly glare set on your face, “Your letter only told me that Harry was unconscious. You didn’t tell me a single thing about how he ended up unconscious.”
He sighed, cutting right to the chase, “I am afraid that Voldemort has returned.”
You froze in your steps, heart hammering mercilessly against your rib cage, “What did you just say?” As if he would change his words by your tone alone.
“This might be a conversation best had while sitting down-“ He gestured to some visitor chairs.
“I much prefer to stand.” You seethed, unable to slow your racing thoughts.
So the headmaster explained.
Voldemort. The man who slaughtered everyone you loved in the name of his pathetic war- and almost succeeded with taking Harry- was back and he went after your nephew again to try and seek revenge.
“I thought Hogwarts was safe.” It wasn’t hard to miss the way you had shifted your body so that you were standing in front of Harry’s bed, as if you alone could create a wall of protection around the boy, “This is supposed to be a place that will protect him.”
“Indeed,” Was the only answer you were offered.
You scoffed, “I hope you know that he will not be returning next year after all this.”
“Are you sure that is wise?” The older man asked with a single raised eyebrow, “It is your choice Miss. Potter, but don’t you think that it’s better for Harry to be surrounded by some of the finest witches and wizard staff who will now keep a closer eye on him?”
That made you hesitate.
“You alone can’t protect the boy from the world.” He continued.
Slowly, you turned your head to stare down at Harry, who’s steady rise and fall of his chest was the only thing indicating that he was still alive.
This will be the day that I die
“I don’t like this,” You mumbled, crossing your arms over yourself as your eyes flitted around the train station.
He sighed, “I know, Aunt Y/n, but I think Dumbledore was right, Hogwarts is the safest place for me to be.”
Finally, you met his eyes and sighed, dropping your arms to the side, “I know,” You admitted, “But that still doesn’t mean that I have to like it.”
Harry gave you his best attempt at a smile, “I know.”
“Here,” You reached forward and plucked his glasses off his face before rubbing them softly against your shirt and placing them back on the bridge of his nose once you deemed them clean enough, “Remember what I said?”
“Notify you the minute anything seems off.” He repeated the words you had drilled into his head over and over again over summer break.
“Right,” You breathed out, “Now, are you sure you still want to go-“
“Yes.” He smiled a little bit, “I’ll be fine. I have Ron and Hermione.”
You huffed a bit, “I know that, but-“
“Auntie.” He spoke sternly, “You don’t need to worry, it’ll be fine.”
You were silent for a moment, before you put your hands up in surrender, “Okay, okay, alright.”
“I’ll be fine.”
Did you write the Book of Love?
“This is the second time,” You ranted angrily, pacing up and down Dumbledore's office, “This is the second time in two years that Harry was put into immediate danger in this school.”
Albus sighed, eyes following you back and forth, “I assure you, it was never my intention to put him in any harms way-“
“I never said it was.” You rounded on him, “But it still seemed to happen under your watch.”
He pursed his lips together, “That is very true.”
You reached up and ran a hand through your hair in frustration, “What am I supposed to do now? You claim that Hogwarts is still the safest place for him, but he was attacked in this building twice.”
“I assure you, Miss. Potter, necessary precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of him and all of the other children.”
You glared at him, “I was told something like that last time. But then Harry was still attacked by a basilisk.”
It was silent for a moment before he spoke up again, “I didn’t tell you this before because I didn’t want to further worry you nor Harry, but there is a possibility that Voldemort is still out there.”
You sucked in a sharp breath at his words, “But you said after last year-“
“I know what I said,” He agreed, “But there is a large chance that I was wrong.”
Your eyes snapped over to meet his, “Having him here is better than having him outside of here if he decides to come for him again.” You whispered quietly.
Albus nodded, “My thoughts exactly.”
Slowly, you nodded and turned to leave, but paused with your hand on the doorknob, “Let’s not tell Harry yet. Just in case it’s not true.”
“You have my word.”
With that, you exited the office, softly shutting the door behind you.
And do you have faith in God above?
“Remus,” You froze, breathing out the name almost as if you didn’t believe that you were saying it.
“Y/n,” He was in a similar state to yours, staring at you with wide eyes, neither one of you paying any mind to the commotion of the platform going on around you.
The two of you hadn’t talked since that day you shoved him away while grieving for James. Sure, he tried to reach out from time to time, but ultimately decided that space was what you had needed the best.
You swallowed, “What- what are you doing here.”
“I’m going to be the new defense against the dark arts professor.” He informed you while clearing his throat, “It’s good to see you.” He added after a moment.
You shook away your shock and decided upon smiling kindly at the man, “You too, Remus, you too.”
“Is…” He trailed off, seeming to try and find the right words.
“Harry just got onto the train with some friends.” You informed him, knowing exactly what he was going to ask.
“Third year?” You nodded your head and he let a small breath loose, “It feels like we were just his age.”
Your smile turned sad, “We might as well have been.”
The train whistled and both of you turned to look at it.
“I should go.” He spoke, giving you one of his famously kind smiles.
Your face turned serious, “Listen, Remus. I know that I’m in no place to be asking for favors, but-“
“Of course I’ll watch over Harry.” He said softly, “And not just for James. For you too.” He looked you in the eyes to show his sincerity.
“Thank you.”
He shook his head, beginning to walk backwards towards the train, “There’s no need to thank me.”
It felt like a weight had been lifted off your chest because even though you hadn’t spoken to the man in years, you knew that he was one of the only people alive that you would trust with not just yours, but Harry’s life as well.
If the Bible tells you so
You gripped the Daily Prophet tightly, eyes scanning over the same line again and again. The one that read that Sirius Black had escaped Azkaban.
The very man that had not only betrayed Lily and James, but had also killed Peter right afterwards. And now he was loose and running amok in Merlin knows where.
As long as he stayed far away from Harry, you couldn’t find it in yourself to care. Even after all he did. It was best not to dwell on the man who had taken everything from you, it would only consume your entire being.
Do you believe in rock 'n' roll?
You crept up the creaking stairs of the Shrieking Shack after receiving a vague letter from Remus that you had no reason not to wholeheartedly believe.
He would never under any circumstances lie about Sirius Black not being the traitor that you all thought him to be. That Peter was really it and he was still alive. You knew you could believe it because James and Lily’s deaths are nothing to joke about, and Remus more than anyone knew that. So that’s why you had snuck into Hogwarts and were meeting him here.
As soon as you reached the top of the stairs, your eyes locked onto Harry, Ron, and Hermione, all cowering in a corner of a top room and you rushed to their sides. Immediately, you reached out to cup Harry and Ron’s cheeks as your eyes scanned over Hermione for any sign of injury.
“Are you guys alright?” You asked worriedly.
Without a word your nephew guestered shakily to a figure behind you, and you whipped around to face what he was so scared of.
Remus standing beside none other than Sirius Black.
Though he was dirty and had changed so, so much from the last time you had seen one another, you didn’t hesitate to spring forward and wrap your arms around his neck, bringing him in for a hug.
True, you had never been as close to him as your brother had. But you still spent most of your summers with him and he had once been someone you could consider a friend. And you didn’t have many of those now adays.
“What are you doing?” Ron shrieked in horror before either you or the man could get a word in to one another after pulling away, “He’s trying to kill us.”
“No, he is not, Mr. Weasley.” Remus explained patiently, “But I am afraid that there is another being in this room that is.”
“A-Auntie?” Harry asked shakily, “What’s going on?”
Before you could respond, a rat you hadn’t even noticed leapt forward and transformed into a man midair. A man you knew to be Peter Pettigrew.
The sight of him alone made you see red. Every bit of pain, grief, and despair that you had felt within the last thirteen years all coming to crash down on you at once because it was all due to him. He was the reason James was dead.
Ignoring Sirius’s hand that flew out to stop you, you stormed over and grabbed Peters collar with so much power that the large man was left stumbling, and pulled out your wand, jabbing it painfully into his neck.
“You dirty little rat.” You seethed, “How dare you,” You took a deep breath and repeated the question, shouting it at the top of your lungs this time. You missed the way the three children flinched at the suddenness of it.
You sensed the two men coming to stand at your sides.
“I’m going to kill you for what you did.” There was no threat behind your words, it was only a clear statement.
Gently, Remus guided your hand down, “He’ll pay for what he did.” He whispered the promise in your ear, “By sending him to Azkaban.”
You didn’t reply, just pushed your wand into his neck harder, making him whimper pathetically.
“Harry doesn’t need you going to prison too.” Sirius muttered from beside you, and those words finally made you pause.
You glanced over to where he stood, being held back from springing forward to help you by his friends, and you finally, reluctantly released your death grip on Peter.
As soon as you let go though, you reeled your fist back and sent it flying forward until you heard a satisfying crunch and a scream of pain from the traitor.
Without a look back, you allowed Remus and Sirius to grab either arm and begin to drag the struggling man out and you went to the trio that was still in the corner.
“Are you all alright?” You repeated your earlier question.
“Was that him? The man that turned my parents in?” Were Harry’s only words.
Ron and Hermione silently exchanged glances before slipping out of the room to give the two of you some space.
Biting down on your lip, you nodded your head and immediately wrapped your arms around the boys shaking form, “Yeah, yeah it was.”
“Did you almost kill him?” His words were slightly muffled through where he was resting his head against your shirt.
“Yes,” You didn’t even try to lie to him, “And I would have if I wasn’t reminded that you still needed me out here, not needing me to be thrown into Azkaban.”
He looked up at you with tear filled eyes, “But that’s where he’s going?”
You sighed and nodded, “Yeah, yeah. That’s where he’s going.”
Can music save your mortal soul?
“I miss James.” Sirius spoke up after a comfortable silence had been sitting over the two of you for many moments.
You hummed, glancing at the man from the corner of your eye, “Yeah, I do too.” You said quietly.
You both sat a little bit away from the group, staring up at Hogwarts, so beautiful and lit up at night.
Neither of you spoke for another minute before you blurted out, “I’m sorry.”
He turned to you with furrowed eyebrows, “What for?”
“I didn’t at first…” You spoke hesitantly, “But I guess over time I began to believe that you really had betrayed them.” You shook your head roughly with a scoff, “There was just not other explanation and I couldn’t let myself live like that anymore. Going it over again and again in my head without end to try and figure out what really happened-“
“Hey,” He cut you off by placing a hand on your shoulder, “It’s alright, Y/n. I get it, I promise you, I do.”
“It’s still not fair to you.” You whispered.
“Maybe not,” He agreed, “But at least now we both can rest knowing that we put away the man that really betrayed them.”
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?
You let curiosity take over and you blindly let your feet begin to walk by themselves towards the kitchen, where music appeared to be floating from.
Pausing at the entrance, you took in the sight before you. Harry was gently bobbing his head up and down to the music that played out of an old music player that sat on the counter as he made cookies a few feet away.
“This was your father’s favorite song,” You made your presence known with a small voice.
He startled, eyes whipping up to you frantically before relaxing when he realized it was just you, “Really?” He asked.
You nodded, “He would drive me and mum crazy by blasting it in his room with Sirius. They would sing at the top of their lungs to see who would get yelled at first between the two of them. It was always James though.” A fond smile played at the ends of your lips.
“Sirius didn’t tell me he liked this song.” He said, resuming his previous activities.
“Eh,” You waved it off, “There’s too many memories we have with your father to keep them all straight.”
He laughed lightly at that, “Wanna help with the cookies?”
You smiled and went to stand beside him, listening to your brother’s favorite song.
Well I know that you're in love with him
“Aunt Y/n?” Harry called hesitantly, shuffling into your room.
“What’s up?” You asked, looking up from your book with a raised eyebrow.
The boy's cheeks turned red and he began stuttering, “U-uh, how- how do I tell a girl that- that I l-like her?” He looked like he was about to die from embarrassment.
Immediately, you snapped your book shut and patted the empty spot on your bed next to you for him to sit down, which he did.
“Who is it?” You asked automatically, a small smirk pulling at the ends of your lips.
Quickly, he shot out of his seat, “You know what, this was a bad idea-“
“Hey, hey, no.” You stopped smirking, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I’m just excited, is all. Tell me about her.”
“Her- her name is Cho,” He mumbled, eyes averted to where he was fiddling with his fingers, “And I really like her but I don’t know what to do.”
You smiled softly, wrapping your arm around the boys shoulder and pulling him down onto the bed beside you, “Just tell her how you feel.” You told him, “That’s the best thing you can do. No big gestures or confusing signals, just the honest truth.”
“What if she doesn’t like me back?” He looked up at you as he softly spoke the question.
You squeezed his shoulders lightly, “Then she’s an idiot.” You reassured him.
He laid there for a moment, taking in your words before nodding along slightly, “Thank you,” He mumbled.
You playfully poked his side, “Look at my little boy growing up.” You teased.
Harry scoffed a bit, cheeks tinting red again as he tried to push your hands away, “Shut up.” He protested weakly.
“Hey,” You pressed a gentle kiss on his forehead, “Let me know how it goes. Okay, bud?”
He nodded, standing up and quickly scurrying out of the room to be saved from any further embarrassment.
'Cause I saw you dancing in the gym
“The Triwizard Tournament?” You burst out, leaning back in your chair and running a hand through your hair, “What kind of bullshit is that?”
Harry grimaced, “I kinda don’t have a choice in it, Aunt Y/n.”
You rubbed two hands down your face before looking down at your nephew through the floo network, “I know, but why does it always have to be you?”
“Because I'm special?” He weakly joked.
A scoff escaped your lips, “Yeah, that’s special alright… Just- just promise me that you’re gonna be careful.”
“Of course I will,” He reassured you before shaking his head and laughing to himself, “I feel like this is the only conversation we ever have.”
“That,” You glared pointedly at him, “Is because of your father. The two of you always seem to attract trouble, whether you want to or not.”
You both kicked off your shoes
“He-he was killed right-right in front of me-“ Harry sobbed into your arms as you gently rocked him back and forth, tears of your own sitting in your eyes.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” You kept mumbling over and over again into his hair, where you had buried your face.
He didn’t deserve this. He didn’t deserve any of the shit that happened to him or anything that he was forced to live through. And of course, the Triwizard Tournament just had to be added to that list, and Voldemort was really back this time.
“Cedric is gone,” He choked out, hands gripping onto your arms tightly- desperately- as if they were a lifeline for him.
“I know, I know,” You blinked and tears slipped down your face, “I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.”
Then I dig those rhythm and blues
“We’re getting the Order back together,” Sirius informed you, leaning back in his chair with a small grin, “So I suppose I’m here to recruit you.”
You scoffed, crossing your arms over your chest, “Because the last Order ended so well.” You shot out sarcastically.
The man’s smile faltered, “It’ll be different this time.”
For some reason, those words only made you angrier, and you harshly pushed back your chair and stood up, pointing accusingly at him with a glare , “In what sense?” You hissed, “In the sense that I don’t have a brother to lose anymore? In the sense that it’s just another war?”
He shook his head from side to side sadly, clearly trying not to take your words to heart, “In the sense that you have Harry to think about and look after this time.”
That made you freeze, just like he knew it would, and you dropped back down into your seat, “Shit,” You cursed softly, running a hand through your hair.
“We will win this time,” He told you confidently, reaching out and squeezing your hand, “We’ll avenge James, Lily, and everyone else that we lost the first time around.”
Hesitantly, you began nodding, “Fine, I’m in.”
I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck
“What the hell were you thinking?” You shouted over the chaos, eyes panickingly sweeping over Harry for any sign of pain, your hands tightly gripping his shoulders.
All around you, Order members and Death Eaters shot curses at one another with no sign of slowing.
“I- I thought he had you and Sirius,” The boy quickly explained, “I couldn’t reach either of you and it was driving me crazy, I couldn’t just sit by and do nothing.”
“Why would Voldemort have brought us to the Ministry?” You hissed at his idiocy before sighing heavily and stepping back slightly, “Okay, okay, I would’ve done the same. I’m sorry for getting mad.”
Tears began to fill his eyes, “I’m sorry for coming here.”
“Hey, hey,” You rushed to comfort him, “It’s not your fault.”
“Y/n!” Sirius called with a grunt from nearby, narrowly blocking a curse thrown his way, “I hate to break up your little Potter reunion, but I could use some help over here!”
With one last smile at Harry, you tightened your grip on your wand and took off in Sirius’s direction, the sound of footsteps behind you letting you know that he had followed you.
Quickly, you threw a stunning curse towards Sirius opponent, sending him flying back into a nearby wall.
“It’s just like old times!” Only Sirius could grin that wildly despite the circumstances.
You scoffed playfully as Harry joined the two of you, both blocking two separate curses in sync, “If this were like old times, then you’d be owing me a drink for saving you!” You teased.
For a split second, he diverted his attention away from the task at hand to smile wider at you, “Maybe I’ll get you one-“
He was cut off by a blinding flash of green being sent directly to his chest.
Both of you froze in sync and you were forced to watch with your feet glued to the ground as he looked between you and Harry with a small smile before his body was pulled into a nearby veil.
Your blood curling scream sounded through the room long before Harry’s did, and you were practically numb to the arm that Remus wrapped around both of you as you each sobbed violently.
You weren’t even able to register the way the man himself was shaking with tears, but he didn’t let up his grip on you and Harry.
How many more times did this have to happen for you to become immune? How many more people did you have to lose before you stopped shedding tears in their names?
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck
With a shaky sigh, you dropped the pink carnation bouquet that you had picked out into a vase you and filled with water and let it rest on the counter, where you then let your head fall and rest upon.
“What’s with the flowers?” Harry piped up softly from behind you.
You raised your head to look at the beautiful plants slightly before signing again, “When Sirius first moved in with us, he didn’t know how he could ever thank my parents for what they had done for him. So he started doing little things to say thank you, meaningful things. One of them was picking a bundle of these types flowers that grew nearby the house and bringing them to my mother, getting her new ones every time the others died.”
He nodded in understanding, gazing at the pink leaves, “They’re beautiful.”
A hum of agreement left your lips, “My mother thought so too.”
But I knew I was out of luck
“With your bad luck, I’m surprised you three idiots made it this long.” You informed them with a small, playful scoff.
Hermione smiled a little bit, “Yeah, me too.”
“Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m grateful for it!” Ron squeaked, and frowned a bit as the three of you laughed.
“Auntie, we have to get on the express.” Harry said softly.
You nodded a little bit, pursing your lips, “I know.”
“We’ll be careful,” Hermione promised, and you smiled softly at her while cupping her cheek, rubbing your finger up and down subconsciously.
“Oh, come here.” You quickly pulled all three children into a tight group hug before kissing every one of them on the tops of their heads.
The day the music died
“What happened that night?” You whispered, watching as Harry’s eyes glazed over quickly and his defenses went up.
He shrugged stiffly, and though you felt guilty for asking, you needed to know what really went down at Hogwarts the night that Dumbledore was killed. You needed to know how much Harry would be affected by it and how negative that affect would be.
“Harry,” You begged with a soft whisper, “I just want to help you.”
“I know,” He admitted with a sigh, dropping his head against the back of the couch you both sat on in your living room.
Silence fell over you for a few minutes that consisted of you chewing on your bottom lip nervously before he finally spoke up again, “We need to prepare for a war.”
His words made your head snap over to him in alarm, “Don’t talk like that,”
“It’s true,” He insisted, turning his body to face you, “After everything that’s been happening, we both know it’s coming.”
You shook your head stubbornly, tears filling in your eyes, “Don’t you talk like that,” You warned through gritted teeth, “Your parents died so you would never have to live through a war like we did.”
He sighed, reaching over and wrapping his arms around you, “I know,” He whispered into your hair as you leaned your head against his chest, “But it’s true. And I’d rather fight and defend others than not and watch them die.”
You squeezed your eyes shut, “But you're just kid.”
“I know.”
“It’s not fair.”
“…I know.”
“Please reconsider this, Harry.” You turned so you were staring up at him with wide eyes, “I know that I’m not your parent, but please, don’t go through with this. This isn’t what they would want for you.”
“Would they prefer I stand by and do nothing?” You fell silent, “They fought in the first war, and if they were still alive, they would fight in this one in a heartbeat… you know I’m right.”
You dropped your head in defeat, because you did know that he was right.
“Then I’m fighting with you,” You sat up.
He was quick to shake his head, “I don’t want you getting hurt-“
“You forget that I’m the adult here, Harry.” You reminded him sternly, “And if I can’t stop you from doing this, then you can’t stop me either.”
Slowly, he nodded, “Okay… okay… We’ll do this together.”
I started singing bye-bye, Miss American Pie
You gripped your wand tightly as your eyes scanned the forest back and forth, you quickly glanced behind you at the sound of leaves crunching.
“Under different circumstances,” You spoke as Harry sat beside you, “This place would be beautiful.”
He hummed in agreement, looking around as well.
The tent that Ron and Hermoine were in rested a few yards back, where they hopefully were sleeping off the craziness of the day.
“Your mother would kill me if she knew I wasn’t sending you to school this year,” You laughed softly at your own words.
Harry chuckled beside you, kicking at the ground a little bit when his smile faded, “I wish I didn’t have to drag you all into this.” His face was twisted up with guilt.
“Hey,” You grabbed onto his hand and shook it slightly, “This was our choice, we all knew what we were getting into. But we all love you, so it’s gonna be worth it.”
“What if one of us doesn’t make it?” He wondered out loud, voice barely above a whisper.
All at once, your body stiffened, “Don’t talk like that.”
“It’s true though!” He cried, “What if Ron, Hermione, or-or y-you die because I dragged you into this?”
“And what if we hadn’t come along?” You rounded on him, “What then? Would it have been you that died?” You asked furiously, “I would die in a heartbeat to keep you safe- all of you.”
He paled at your words, looking slightly nauseated, “You can’t die.” He whispered.
“Then we’re going to drop this discussion.” You determined, “And neither of us are going to think about it again. Got it?”
He nodded numbly and you sighed, “Come ‘ere,” You muttered, wrapping your arm around him.
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
The snow fell gently across the town that you had once viewed as beautiful. That is, until your brother and sister in law moved into a certain quaint house and your entire life was flipped upside down.
You swallowed harshly, fighting with every bone in your body not to turn around and sprint in the other direction with every step forward that you took.
Hermione and Ron had gone off to a small coffee shop, muttering about giving you and Harry some space.
The boy had his arm tightly locked around yours and he seemed to be struggling just as much as you were, both of you with your feet frozen right in front of the cemetery.
“I haven’t visited this place,” You admitted with a guilty whisper, “Not once. I didn’t even show up to the funeral. I couldn’t.”
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Harry asked you hesitantly, eyeing you sideways.
You forced a tight smile on your face and gave him one nod of confirmation, “It’s about time I said goodbye for real.” Before adding, “Both of us.”
With that, arm in arm, you slowly made your way past the gravestones until you came upon two side by side with the names of Lily and James Potter printed across them.
You inhaled sharply at the sight of it, blinking away tears, knowing that they would freeze instantly on your face if you let them loose.
Slowly, Harry took out his wand and muttered a small spell that Hermione no doubt taught him, and a bundle of pink carnations appeared on each of their graves.
A watery laugh left your lips at his actions, causing a small smile to pull at the ends of his own lips, “They’re beautiful, Harry.”
He rested his head against the top of yours and you each silently said your own goodbyes to the ones that you lost.
Them good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye
“Look! They’re here! They’re here!” Students all around you cheered, and you couldn’t help but feel a slight spark of happiness at the looks of hope and joy on their faces.
When you and the children had returned to Hogwarts to finish what had been started, you hadn’t expected all of these students to begin cheering your names as they finally got their first sign of hope in seemingly months.
As your eyes scanned through the sea of kids, you knew that you couldn’t let them down. They had all lost so much, being forced to go through what you and your peers had back then in some ways, and you would be damned if you let them suffer any longer.
Glancing over at Harry, you knew instantly that he had the same thoughts.
Singing, "This'll be the day that I die"
“No!” You screamed so loud that it felt like your throat was ripping, but you could barely feel it over the pain in your heart, “No! No! No!”
Molly let out a sob, quickly wrapping her arms around you to stop you from running forward towards the Death Eaters at the sight of Harry’s limp body in Hagrid’s arms.
“Harry Potter is dead!” Voldemort announced with a malicious grin, thoroughly enjoying watching as your entire world came crashing down right on top of you, suffocating your lungs.
It felt as though he held your heart in his disgusting hands and was squeezing it in an agonizingly painful way.
Arthur had to make his way over and wrap an arm around you as well, your sheer strength from anger and denial making it impossibly difficult for Molly to hold you alone.
You couldn’t even hear the rest of what The Dark Lord had to say over your hopeless, despair-filled cry’s that raked through your entire body violently.
Harry was the only thing that had kept you going after all these years, after what happened. And with him being gone now, you knew that you wouldn’t be able to go on. Not without him.
Then, without warning, Harry’s body rolled out of Hagrid's hold and he jumped up, locking eyes with you briefly before picking up his wand and pointing it at Voldemort.
You gasped, a large amount of air filling into your lungs for the first time since thinking he was dead, to much in a state of shock to even register the chaos that erupted all around you as everyone sprang into action, firing spell after spell at the opposing side.
When you finally snapped out of it though, you sprang forward and fired a deadly curse towards Voldemort, years of rage and heart brokenness behind it for everyone and everything you lost at his hand.
He barely even glanced at you as he deflected it and sent a light of green straight into your chest.
This will be the day that I die
It was over. The only war was finally over. And for the first time in weeks, Harry felt himself smile as he desperately looked around for you. Despite all the two of you had gone through, at least you would be able to enjoy the new world- one rid of Voldemort- together. A world that was finally safe.
His eyebrows furrowed and he paused in his steps when he caught sight of Hermione, Ron, Molly, and Arthur all standing in a circle in the middle of a hallway, every one of them crying.
He moved forward to see what was the matter, “What is it? What’s wrong-“
Harry cut himself short and he felt all the air get knocked out of his lungs, sending him falling to his knees, “A-auntie?” He stuttered out, mouth running dry as he looked down at your limp form on the ground.
Your lips were parted slightly and your eyes were wide open, staring unseeingly at a nearby pile of rubble.
Everyone’s heads snapped over to him and Molly fell down beside him, wrapping her arms around the boy, “Oh, Harry-“
He immediately shrugged off her hands, instead frowning slightly and beginning to shake your shoulders, “Auntie? Aunt Y/n, wake up.”
All anyone could do was just stand there and watch silently with tears streaming down their faces.
“No,” He choked out when you didn’t stir, “No, wake up. Please, please wake up,” He begged through sobs, “We’re free, we’re finally free. Wake up!”
Nobody left his side, not for a single second of the hour he sat there, screaming- pleading- begging- you to wake up until his throat was raw and scratchy and he fell backwards on his heels.
“All she ever wanted was what was best for me.” The boy whispered, “That's all she ever wanted.”
“Then let’s give her that,” Molly spoke softly, hugging him again, “Honor her by living your life to the fullest. She wanted your happiness more than anything in this world.”
Harry looked down at you once more, the woman that had taken him in on her own free will in order to honor her brother and lost friends. The woman who raised him and taught him everything he knew. The woman who gave him everything. The woman who sacrificed herself so that he could keep living his life.

...
"They slipped briskly into an intimacy from which they never recovered" - F Scott Fitzgerald
After landing on the front steps and promptly unlocking the door, Remus follows Brigitte inside. She takes his hand and quickly leads him up the stairs trying to avoid Sirius. Little do they know he has his head in the fireplace talking to Harry, moments away from almost getting caught by Umbridge...
Brigitte opens her bedroom door and turns to Remus with a look in her eyes he's never seen before.
"Are you sure you me to ...?", he asks her quietly.
She takes his hand and pulls him into the room. Brigitte closes the door and Remus wraps his arms around her middle, burying his face in her neck. She spins to face him, and they kiss passionately while he pins her against the wall. Brigitte's hands tangle in Remus' hair as he nips and sucks her neck and aggressively kneads her soft hips.
Her chest heaves against his; Remus' hands roam the small of her back and up to her chest, cupping her barely clothed breasts. They moan deeply into each other's mouths at the sensual touch, feeling that internal flame burn deep inside them in the best way.
Remus breaks away and guides her to the foot of the bed. Eyeing him lustfully, Brigitte kicks off her boots and pulls off the dress in one swift motion, making Remus practically drool at the sight of her wearing nothing but sheer stockings, a garter belt, and a black thong.
"Fuck, you're so beautiful, Britt. Perfect ...", he breathes out, not taking his eyes off her soft, womanly form. In his opinion, none of the art they looked at earlier can begin to rival her beauty. His heart palpitates as he appreciates his current reality: about to make love to a woman he's head over heels for, who looks at him with the same adoration and lustful desire.
Remus brushes the hair behind her shoulders as she desperately unbuttons his shirt.
"I want you, Remus. I need you", she pleads while yanking the sleeves off his broad shoulders, feeling herself pooling in between her legs looking at his rugged torso. It's splattered in scars. Some white, some pink and purple. Some thin and shallow, some deep and jagged as if he was whipped by lightning. Brigitte kisses a few of his marks, making him groan at her soft lips. Blood rushes to his groin as their unclothed chests graze each other.
A surge of confidence Remus has never experienced courses through his veins, seeing such an unearthly beauty gazing at him with lust-filled eyes. Remus grabs a handful of her hair and pulls her head back for a better angle, licking down her neck, collarbone, and making his way to her breasts.
He kneels down to suck and bite her nipples, tasting her sweet skin. She whimpers pathetically because his touch is better than ever imagined, "Oh, Remus I love your mouth on me".
He looks at her with dilated pupils and sprinkles kisses across her milky stomach. "You're softer than I imagined, Love. I want to feel every inch of you", he says against her goosebumped skin. He nips along her panty line and squeezes her squishy bum. Brigitte runs her hands through his coarse hair and gasps blissfully, hardly believing this sweet man is on his knees for her.
Remus gazes up at her animalistically, "I want you to keep these on", he says caressing her sheer stockings and inadvertently giving her shivers.
"Take the garter belt off me, please", she begs, feeling the pressure swirl between her legs. He smirks devilishly and begins unclipping it, tickling her with his facial hair while he lightly kisses her thighs.
He removes the garter belt and stares at her clothed mound. "You have no idea how badly I want you; how good I'm going to make you feel". He rubs his thumb along the thin fabric between her legs.
Brigitte lets out of high-pitched squeal and pulls his hair to steady herself. He chuckles condescendingly, as if his own groin isn't throbbing from anticipation. "You like when I touch you like that? How about like this?", he adds more pressure while rubbing back and forth. Remus kisses her navel and trails down until he's on her mound.
"Yeah Remus, touch me like that!", Brigitte whimpers. He puts his mouth around her clothed clit and reaches up for her breasts. Brigitte slowly thrusts her hips towards Remus in pleasure, her moans becoming louder as he presses hard kisses on her most sensitive spot.
She looks down to admire him and notices the sizable bulge in his pants which makes her core pulsate. "Lunaire... I want you", she pleads.
"Yes, my darling. Such a needy little thing", he teases with a loving smile and hooks his fingers around her panties. He hitches his breath at the sight of a string of arousal sticking to the fabric as he pulls them down to her feet.
"God baby, you're already so wet", he lets out in admiration.
Brigitte mewls and wriggles around in place, "Mmm, for you, Remus".
He stands up, keeping his focus on her. Brigitte unloops his belt and pushes his pants and briefs onto the floor. Her eyes widen at the thick, pronounced cock that springs out.
Brigitte wraps her dainty fingers around Remus, making him whimper and cover his face with his large hands. She goes to lower herself to her knees but he scoops her back up under her armpits.
"No, I want to please you. Lie back on the bed for me, Darling", Remus asserts softly.
He pushes his ruffled bangs out of the way and watches Brigitte sprawl her naked body out on the silky sheets, staring up at him seductively. He waves his wand at the door and her stomach to conceal their noises and her womb. She looks up at him with a deep desire as he braces himself over her.
Brigitte grinds against his hard cock as Remus mouths and squeezes her breasts. She gasps euphorically as he works down her stomach; then he sits up in a kneeling position. He gently pushes her legs open, exposing her dripping core.
"So beautiful", Remus says admiring her naked body. Brigitte hides her face in her hands but he quickly pulls them away and pins them to the side. "Don't be embarrassed, I want to see you". He caresses her thigh, making her bite her lip.
"Remus...".
"I know, darling... I'm going to taste how sweet you are", and he kisses her inner thighs, tickling her with his facial hair.
Remus softly flicks her clit with his tongue, which is so sensitive and makes her shake from the anticipation. Brigitte's hands find Remus' hair as he adds more pressure and speed. She's a writhing mess as he circles her bud and teases her entrance with his fingers.
"Ohh... Remus... feels so good", she groans while tugging desperately at the crown of his head, never having felt such pleasure before. He moans into her at the affirmation, the vibrations making her hips jut up.
He ferociously laps at her swollen pussy, feeling her arousal dripping down his chin, determined to make her climax mind-shattering. He places his thumb above her clit and pushes up, fully exposing her sensitive bunch of nerves. A few rough licks has her she's convulsing.
"Re-Remus! I'm gonna... Ahh!", Brigitte moans loudly as an overwhelming wave of pleasure courses through her body like electricity. She shakes uncontrollably at the sensations, tugging the sheets and forcing Remus to hold her hips down so that he can keep pleasuring her. He licks her hungrily through her first orgasm even though she's pathetically trying to push his head back.
"Ah! No, too good... ahh, fuck!", she begs as the second orgasm quickly washes over. Her intoxicating sounds and sweet arousal have Remus' cock throbbing against the mattress. He's licks her up like she's the oasis in the middle of the desert. He lifts his head and teases her with his index finger, watching her jump at the subtle touch.
"You're so sexy right now, Britt. Such beautiful sounds from your pretty lips when I make you come with only my tongue. Look at you squirm when I pet you".
She looks at him hazily over her pounding chest, "Mhmm ... Need you ... inside me, Remus".
He sits up on his knees and strokes himself a few times. His impressive, throbbing erection sticks straight up, pre-cum dripping down his shaft. He falls forward and holds himself over Brigitte's impatient body.
She reaches between her legs and strokes his cock, feeling herself getting wetter from his well- endowed manhood. Remus gasps at her soft hands touching him.
"Fuck, Britt... Let me fuck you", he groans.
"You're so big, Lunaire".
"I'll be slow, I got you, Darling".
She positions him at her aching cunt, and he rubs up and down her slit to gather her sticky arousal. He steadily thrusts all the way inside her in one slow movement.
They both gasp out; Brigitte claws Remus' arms to brace herself against the pressure. He caresses her cheek reassuringly. Biting her bottom lip, he keeps her eyes on his, taking a few deep breaths and wiggling around until she feels used to the stretch.
"Fuck, Darling you're so tight and wet. Doing so well taking me". He tries to control himself, slowly thrusting into her. Brigitte sighs blissfully and starts bucking her hips up as any and all discomfort quickly subsides.
"Faster, Remus. Hard".
He growls into her neck at the plea, and his demeanor immediately changes as he grabs her thighs for a better grip. He plunges his cock deep into her repeatedly, causing pornographic moans to escape her mouth as his tip rubs vigorously on her spongey walls.
Remus has to focus on not coming done already, but watching Brigitte lose control under him is the hottest thing he's ever seen. She desperately grips the sheets and his body, anything she can get her hands on. She's already so sensitive from the two previous orgasms.
"Mmm, Remus you feel so good inside me- Ohhh God!", Brigitte cries shamelessly as he pounds into her, groaning primally as she squeezes around him. Her nails dig into his back, adding to the display of pink lines decorating his muscles. Remus' sweaty brow is furrowed as he tries to keep his breath and movements steady.
"You feel so good around my cock, Love- ah, fuck! I can feel your pussy trembling", he grits through clenched teeth. He leans down and gives her sloppy, open- mouthed kisses and swallows up her heavenly moans.
Then he sits up and lifts her stocking-clad legs, hugging them against his chest and kissing her ankles. His hips violently smack against her ass.
Remus grunts and watches Brigitte's face contort from the overstimulation. Her eyes are tight shut, mouth wide open.
She tries to fight his grip on her, the pleasure overwhelming but he holds onto her tight as his movements speed up; the sight of her desperately thrashing around with bouncing breasts, squirming on the sheets is almost too much to handle.
"Ah! Ah! So... good- Ah! Remus! I'm gon- I'm gonna!", she grinds her hips on him, unable to get the words out as every nerve in her body sets off like a fire sparkler.
"I know darling, I feel you clenching me. Fuck!- I want to watch you cum... Ah! Cum on my cock", he growls as his thrusts get sloppy. Remus reaches down and pushes on Brigitte's clit. His words and the stimulation are enough to send her over the edge for the third time.
"Mon Dieu, Oui! Oui! Oui!", she screams and claws at his thighs. She squeezes around his shaft, pulling him over the edge with her.
"Fuck darling, fuck- I'm coming", Remus groans and falls forward. He holds himself up on his forearms with their glistened foreheads pressed together. He slowly pushes into her, mixing their cum as they come down from the high.
Brigitte wraps her arms around him like a vine. Remus buries his head into the crook of her flushed neck and inhales her sweet aroma.
"Are you alright, darling? I wasn't too rough, was I? I had to restrain myself". Brigitte peppers his shoulders and affectionately scratches his back, still trying to catch her breath.
"It was perfect, Mon Amour".
Neither speak for a few minutes, content with staying in their current positions. Sure, they've both had sex, but they've never made love like this. Remus, in the past has refused to let himself get this close to someone, while Brigitte has never felt comfortable enough until now.
This feels right. Their heads are foggy with ecstasy and still in shock by the events that just took place.
"That was amazing ... you're amazing. I can't believe we did that", Remus chuckles and rubs his nose on hers. He pours all his emotions into a gentle kiss. Brigitte smiles tenderly and cups his face,
"You're amazing. I can't believe we haven't done that sooner". Remus slowly pulls out of her but instead of rolling over, he lays his head in between Brigitte's breasts and caresses her sides. She plays with his sweaty hair as they lie in a comfortable silence.
For a moment, Brigitte worries Remus fell asleep on her- literally. Then he takes a deep breath and speaks up, "I really care about you, Britt ... a lot. So much. I want you to know how special you are to me. I'm not, uh, vulnerable like that often, hardly ever, not in a very very long time and I never expected to ever be with someone again. I wouldn't have done this except ...".
"Except what, Lunaire?".
Remus looks deep in her eyes. "Except... I'm falling for you and I can't seem to control myself. I couldn't not be with you. Even ... even with my scarred body, I want to have that ultimate intimacy with you and show you how much you mean to me".
She looks at him with big twinkling eyes, completely shocked by how open and sincere he is,
"Oh, Lunaire, I'm falling for you too. I've been craving your body, your touch. You mean so much to me and your scars don't matter. Besides, I think they're sexy", she smiles at him reassuringly.
"I don't", he says flatly.
"We all have your flaws, Remus. You don't like your scars... I don't really like my stomach. When I lean forward I get a little pooch, and it's kinda jiggles when I shake my hips", she confesses.
Remus looks at her dumbfounded. "What are you talking about? You're absolutely perfect, Darling. Your tummy is cute and sexy and... so kissable", he affirms, tracing his lips over her abdomen and tickling her milky skin.
"Well Lunaire, so are your scars", she smiles warmly and runs her nails along his scalp.
"Again... I don't deserve you".
"You already have me". Remus eventually gets up to fetch a damp cloth to clean them up. Then he gets back on the bed next to Brigitte and pulls the covers over their naked bodies.
She buries her face in his chest and folds her body into his. He soothingly scratches her back until they both fall asleep. Their legs are practically braided together, and their sleeping exhales mingle as they breathe in sync.
The room is peaceful, the passionate energy slowly subsiding to a warm contentment. The painted Springtime couple peers lovingly at one another as vines of clematis descend from the ceiling over the bed- the new sensations of love and lust creating a magical energy so strong that the talented witch is emitting it in her sleep.

Where Padfoot Lays His Head
Summary: Inspired by @thewriterghost's reblog of my last animagus!reader fic, this is just a sweet drabble of Whiskers comforting Padfoot:,)
Words: 1.7k
Warnings: not proofread, fem!reader, your marauders/animagus name is whiskers, walburga black, black family dynamics and trauma, vaguely implied abuse, sirius spiraling into self-loathing, platonic physical affection, romantic!regulus x reader but platonic!sirius x reader is the main focus, background platonic!moonwater
Note: this is based on the same reader from Feline Touches, Sweet Like Honey and Padfoot vs. Whiskers, sirius' beloved almost-sister-in-law that he has frequent (loving) sibling squabbles with
Sirius pretended he didn’t feel the humiliation burning through his veins from his friends’ worrying looks.
Stop looking at me, stop caring so sodding much.
His internal begging was all for naught; this was apparently what he signed up for when he strolled into the train compartment that housed the largest smile Hogwarts had ever seen and his pack of make-shift slightly-fucked-up-but-lovable friends.
Most days, Sirius was grateful to the bone for the family he had been able to assemble at Hogwarts, stretching from his boyfriend to his boyfriend’s childhood best friend to his biological brother and the boys that became his brothers. However, on days that Walburga Black, the hag to end all hags, sends him a Howler berating him for leaving home over the summer, few sentiments besides anger, self-loathing and isolation remained in the young boy’s body.
When he eventually stops reeling and wallowing, all this attention would make him feel warm once more, especially when he sees they didn’t stop showering him in it even as he retreated perhaps a bit rudely from it. Right now, though, it just kept the wound open and Sirius was sure the infection would kill him this time around.
He was sure of that every time.
It became evident quickly that he would not be able to get away from his friends. James was practically glued to his side from the moment he left the Great Hall after Walburga ruined everyone’s lunch. His brown eyes were so wide beneath his glasses and Sirius was sure he could almost see tears in them as he swung his arm around Sirius’ shoulders and kept telling jokes like his life depended on it. Remus was not much better. He had learned by now not to soften his touches when Sirius was in these moods – on the contrary, harsh, direct touches helped ground him – but his hands rarely left his being, as if he would fall apart without him. Even Lily tuned down her playful banter with him, swapping it for concerned questions and checking in on him throughout the day. Sirius loved them all, but he hated it.
Even Regulus showed him more compassion than normal, though he didn’t say much. His entire being seemed to radiate I get you, I understand more than anyone, because frankly he did. Even as hearing Walburga’s voice must have rattled Regulus too, he didn’t show it, instead holding space for Sirius, carrying what was supposed to be his burden.
Humiliating.
All of which to say, Sirius did what Sirius does best; he ran from them all, in the one form none of them would be able to hold a conversation with him in.
Padfoot had turned out to be a blessing that way. Sirius picked up on it from you, who only ever was in your animagus form when you felt particularly well or horrifically poorly. Difficult to ask how a dog is feeling, yeah?
He laid in front of the common room fireplace, stretched out in a position that showed he was ready to pounce should anyone try to pet him. Around him, his friends were cuddled up on the sofas and armchairs, chattering lowly amongst themselves and playing the occasional game of wizarding chess. Padfoot had his head placed on his front paws as his gaze flickered all over the room, unable to settle. His nerves always seemed to transform with him, manifesting as the most anxious dog Gryffindor had seen.
Their stares were still on him, penetrating and with downturned frowns over their faces. Stop it, stop it, stop it. He couldn’t string too long sentences together in his dog brain – part of its fantastic appeal right now – but that sentiment remained steadfast.
You were sat in Regulus’ lap opposite the fireplace, murmuring something in his ear as you both intermittently looked at Padfoot. Your hands were playing with his hair, lips almost grazing his skin as you talked, even pressing the occasional kiss to his cheek, his jaw, his ear. Love. Padfoot loved love and he loved his little brother getting to experience it so wholly, even as he laid here, destroying the moment with the same misery that hunted any children raised by the Black family. He felt as if he was sucking the joy out of the room with his wallowing, yet he couldn’t stop himself.
Padfoot couldn’t help the low whine that escaped him at the darkness swirling around inside him. Upon fearing having to meet the gazes of anyone who caught the noise and see the goddamn sympathy and pity in them, he brought his paws up to cover his eyes, pathetically hiding within himself.
Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad.
In his internal chanting, he didn’t notice when the chatter died down a bit, nor did he see the glances exchanged. He felt the footsteps reverberating through the floorboards, suggesting somebody was walking away, but he didn’t register its true implications. Leave, was all he could think. Good, leave. Go.
What he did notice to its fullest extent was when a few moments later, soft fur collided with his own as something was rubbing against him.
A bit too quickly, almost too violently, Padfoot’s head snapped up from beneath his paws to see what this intrusion was – only to come face to face with a white-and-grey cat, blinking slowly at him. His mouth fell slightly open, and he thought a complaining bark may be on its way out, but then you – Whiskers – butted your head against the side of his neck, caressing him with your feline body.
The adventures of Whiskers and Padfoot were a running joke, especially one Remus and Regulus loved to team up to tell. Whether it was chasing each other around, hunting rats – preferably Wormtail, but any would do – and mice or playing with the house elves, you two loved to conduct mischief together in the one form you could never be properly caught in. There had been the occasion where you cuddle or pet one another, but it was rare and usually unspoken, attachment growing deeper and softer without either properly addressing it.
So, this was not necessarily out of left field, but it surprised him nonetheless. He couldn’t say it wasn’t quite welcome, though.
You had started purring as you walked up and down his body where he was laid in front of the fire, soaking up the warmth he was bathed in and oddly calming the vibrating nerves within his own body. Whenever you reached his head, you bumped your snout against his, rubbing the space between your ears all over his face.
Cats are weird, Padfoot thought. Like it.
Mere minutes ago Sirius had been surveying his friends and his effect on them intently, digging himself deeper into his self-inflicted hole. Now, his attention was captured by the much smaller animal beside him, and he didn’t see how most conversation had stopped to witness the interaction. Lily and James looked at them in almost shocked awe, both having been snapped at and ran away from when they attempted to pet Padfoot themselves. Regulus and Remus, however, sat there with soft, knowing smiles – seeing the girl they loved most go for it with no fear and comforting their favourite dog. Remus would deny it to anyone who asked, but there were tears in his eyes.
The next time Whiskers came up beside his face, you stayed there, leaning yours against his. You laid your body down over the paws Padfoot had previously rested his own head on and made yourself comfortable in a position no one but a cat could possibly conjure up. From there, you began cleaning his fur like you were his personally-assigned cat mother, licking the strands in their correct direction. When his face was too far away, you lightly brought your paw up to his snout to bring him further towards you.
Despite being placed in front of a fire, warmth didn’t truly spread through Sirius before now. When he brought his head down, he laid it on top of you and let it rest there across your midsection, careful not to hurt you, as your upper body curled around his head. You continued cleaning up his fur as you purred loudly, easing the tension from Padfoot’s poor body.
A cuddle only animals could come up with, an embrace Sirius would deny anyone today, yet like this, it just worked.
When his eyes became heavy, Sirius let them fall. You continued your ministrations without hesitation, carefully and slowly tending to Sirius face, only stopping occasionally to nuzzle your forehead further into his fur and purr even louder.
He didn’t quite fall asleep, he rarely did as Padfoot, too alert and awake in this form, but he let himself fall into a place of tranquillity. Walburga’s harsh words seemed almost funny in their anger now, and Sirius’ own spiral was becoming a thing of the past.
Would he still be red-cheeked tomorrow and avoid his friends’ eyes for the first half of the day? Perhaps, but they would reel him into their arms and hearts regardless. Would he sputter and fall back into his evil cycle of thoughts if anyone brought this specific moment up? Without a doubt, but that’s why they would not, at least not before he settled.
Padfoot was suddenly safe in the Gryffindor common room. He was safe with this warm weight over his paws and beneath his head, he was safe with love being quite literally carded into every strand of fur on his body. He was safe with the hearth behind him and his pack in front of him, quiet voices further lolling him further into a state of peace.
Padfoot was safe – maybe even loved.
Across the room, Remus and Regulus had gravitated further towards one another, as theirs were the only eyes who never left the scene of cat-dog-solidarity displayed before them.
Regulus bumped into Remus’ arm with his elbow and whispered, “He doesn’t like cats, he says?” with a knowing smirk.
The other boy huffed a laugh at that, lips remaining softly upturned. “I believe he has an exception or two to that rule.”

— defending you ; remus lupin x black!reader 𐙚

a/n: in love with my protective!marauders so here's this !!! also, snape has his suspicions of remus in this, just to be clear.
check out my masterlist & send in any requests <3
remus lupin knew when to keep his mouth shut. he knew when not to react and how to stay under the radar, but that didn't stop you from not keeping your mouth shut for him.
you knew it was going to be a rough day when your defence against the dark arts professor unexpectedly changed the lesson plan from banshees to lycanthropes.
remus, if he had known prior, would've faked an illness and skipped out, too uncomfortable with the wandering eyes and the permanent fear that someone would find him out.
instead, he sat beside you at your shared desk, having been there for too long now to get up and leave and ultimately cause a scene. more eyes on him was the last thing he needed.
you had kept his hand in yours, feeling it squeeze and tense and shake throughout the entirety of the class, and you were sure all the skin of his bottom lip was bitten clean off from his nerves.
everything was okay for the majority of it. the professor was surprisingly respectful in his delivery and you, james and sirius spent the whole time calling out immediate answers to his questions. the three of you, for obvious reasons, knew everything like the backs of your hands and tried your hardest to avoid any snarky comments from other students for the sake of poor moony, who remained dead silent.
everything was okay until the group of slytherins opened their mouths.
you'd left the classroom with the three boys, grip still tight on remus' hand as he let out a relieved breath, glad to be out of there. you didn't, however, make it that far down the corridor before you heard snape's voice.
"those freaks need to be studied in mental hospitals. that professor had no idea what he was talking about, still calling them humans. they're monsters, that's what they are-"
remus tensed beside you at his words and sighed as he felt the inevitable coming on. the four of you stopped in your tracks, and in no less than a few seconds you'd whipped around and had your wand pointed directly at snape.
"i think it's you that has no idea what you're talking about, right severus?" you challenged.
james stood protectively beside you, ready to jump in if you needed him and sirius stood just behind, arms folded and a proud smirk on his face.
"i think the lady asked you a question, snivellus," james piped up, sporting a similar smirk to your brother as he raised his hands in mock defence. "i'd answer her if i were you."
malfoy snickered behind snape, not knowing the true intent behind his words as the latter stared back at you, head tilted with a gross sort of grin as he looked between you and remus. "did my words hit a little close to home, black?"
remus just sighed again, head bowed in slight humiliation as the rest of you tensed up.
"fuck you, snape, i swear to merlin-" you seethed, grip on your wand incredibly tight as you started towards him before you felt a gentle hand on your forearm pulling you back.
"it's not worth it," remus spoke softly into your ear, his voice conveying more hurt than he would've liked.
you didn't lower your wand, still breathing heavily as you remained in place. snape was still grinning at you and it took everything in you not to hex him into oblivion.
james moved to stand in front of you to get your attention and also put some distance between you and snape. "we'll get him later, yeah? i swear."
"trust us, we have a plan," sirius clamped a hand down on your shoulder, his signature smirk returning as the three of them pulled you away.
true to their word, the marauders had pulled of a series of pranks on snape that left him too terrified and humiliated to even leave his dorm, the last two turning his hair semi-permanently pink and breaking him out head to toe in bubbling warts.
remus had seemingly gotten over what was said by the end of week (after two or three vulnerable moments in the safety of your arms), and snape hadn't left the slytherin common room in days.
it was the following saturday afternoon, and the five of you were scattered about by the fountain in the courtyard. you, remus and peter were studying for the upcoming charms exam whilst james and sirius... pretended to.
remus was just about to test you on your recently read chapter when a shout from across the courtyard rudely interrupted.
"oi, gryffindors!"
"here we go," james spoke proudly, smirking to himself as he pushed himself up off the ground. "and what is it you want on this fine afternoon, mulciber?"
the slytherin boy in question stalked over to your group, malfoy and avery in tow. "did a fine number on our snape there, didn't you?" he spat in james' face, sizing him up.
the rest of you stood up at that, sirius particularly fast as he threw an arm around james and flashed mulciber an innocent grin before scrunching up his face in disgust. "oh mate, you might wanna get your mouth cleaned out before getting too close to my james here."
you snorted out a laugh at your brother and mulciber sneered, shoving him away by the shoulders. "you keep quiet, black. you think you have any right talking to me?"
"snape got what he deserved," you spoke up, narrowing your eyes at the group of boys as you got between him and sirius. "you should teach your friend to keep his big nose out of where it doesn't belong."
avery barked out a laugh, your attention turning to him as he joined mulciber's side. "you're funny, little black. all bark and no bite, aren't you?"
peter stood back, eyes wide in fear. remus, remaining his usually calm self, tensed up and took a step closer to you when avery jabbed his finger into your chest, only for it to be slapped away by sirius with an angry "don't fucking touch her".
"alright, avery. that's enough," remus spoke up, his voice firm as he rested his hand on your lower back.
avery did nothing but laugh again, not taking his eyes off of you. "you're nothing but the gryffindors' little slut, aren't you?"
sirius suddenly shoved him back with an angry force just as remus stepped in front of you, his voice scarily calm as he spoke. "the fuck did you just say?"
"you heard me," avery shrugged, clearly unfazed by sirius' actions as his smirk grew even more. "i bet she gets passed around you all like the little whore she is. is she good?"
you stumbled back into peter in shock, his words ringing through your ears as the blonde boy wrapped an arm around you protectively.
"if you know what's good for you, avery, you'll shut your fucking mouth," remus seethed, his eyes never leaving avery's face as he slowly moved closer towards him.
the boy didn't answer him and instead turned his attention back to sirius as he lowered his voice, sneering at him evilly. "i bet you join in on the action too, don't you? some sick fantasy you blood traitors like to indulge in, huh? regulus is the only worthy one out of you three, you ever invite him to join?"
sirius exploded in a fit of rage and james grabbed him as he lunged towards the slytherin, holding him back before he'd kill the guy. "who the fuck do you think you are, avery?! i swear, you're so fucking dead!"
"you'll be done with her soon enough," malfoy joined, shrugging his shoulders casually as he sneered at remus, stalking towards him. "maybe then you'll let us have a go, yeah? she was meant to be one of us, after all. she may be a blood traitor but she's hot as-"
a sickening crunch interrupted him as remus sent his fist reeling directly at his nose, nothing but pure rage seeping through his veins as he sent punch after punch to avery's face.
"remus!"
james and sirius watched in shock for a moment (both quite frankly more than happy to let remus beat him to a pulp, and in fact cheered him on for the first two or three hits) before your pleading voice snapped them out of it. they each grabbed one of remus' arms and narrowly avoided getting an elbow to the face as they dragged him off of the half-unconscious boy.
"you even look at her again and i swear to godric you'll be spending the rest of your lives in the hospital wing."
the two other boys scrambled to grab avery and ran off towards the castle, terrified of remus' sudden outburst.
"alright, show's over you fuckers!" sirius called out to the relatively big crowd that had formed around you all, who reluctantly dispersed out in different directions. "give us some bloody space!"
"well that felt good," remus chuckled quietly as he shook his hand a few times.
you just stared at him with wide eyes and your mouth dropped open slightly. "you.. you just-"
"fuckin' hell, moony that was bloody brilliant!" james broke out into a cheer, him and sirius praising him and re-enacting just how brilliant it was as remus laughed quietly again before turning to you.
he gently took you from peter's grip and raised his eyebrows as he looked down at you, going back to his usual gentleness as he scanned your features worriedly. "are you alright, darling?"
you didn't quite know what to say, looking up at him slightly starstruck as you just nodded your head and stumbled over your words. "yeah, i- yeah."
he gave you a gentle smile and cupped your face with his non-bloody hand before leaning down for a kiss, conveying all his usual love and softness into it as if he didn't just completely wreck avery's face.
the sounds of gagging filled your ears and you broke away from remus with a soft laugh at james and sirius' antics.
"don't forget that's my sister, moony! merlin, what that fucker said about us is going to haunt me forever."

hii what about Remus with shufflepuff! reader who's really good with animals but is made fun of by James? Sirius just playfully teases Remus about his not so secret crush but James is just outright mean to her...thx!
a/n: i hope i made james mean enough, thank you for requesting!! enjoy! ♡
pairing: remus lupin x hufflepuff! reader
“remus, isn’t that your girlfriend, over there!?” sirius jokes, grabbing remus softly by the shoulder. remus turns his head to see you out by a tree helping a small animal, he’s too far away to make out what it is. he can’t help but smile at your kindness.
“she’s not my girlfriend.” remus snips back, pushing sirius hand off his shoulder. rolling his eyes at his idiot friend. looking back to you with a new red tint added to his cheeks.
“oh yes, of course.” sirius shakes his head in mock sorrow. “so when are you going to ask her?”
before remus could tell sirius to mind his business, james scoffs. “i hope he never does.”
remus snaps his head towards james, with a scowl. “what’s that supposed to mean?”
“she’s weird.” james answers, not really interested in the conversation.
remus scowl changes into a confused frown. what did that mean? you weren’t weird. different? yes. but remus liked that. you were shy, you didn’t have many friends. but, you were always kind to others. people, animals and even non-living things. you were soft spoken and so sweet. a true definition of a hufflepuff. remus always appreciated that about you.
“i think she’s sweet.” sirius helps remus out, defending you. sure sirius teased remus but, it was only because remus’ crush on you was so obvious. and he couldn’t help but tease his friend.
“she’s still crazy.” james shrugs, watching you pick up the small animal. “i mean she talks more to animals than to humans.” he waves his hand towards you, making a point.
“james-“ sirius tries to interpret, but james can’t help but provide more of his thoughts on you. “also, she has no friends.”
“yes, she does!” remus defends. as james continues to rant, remus can’t help but feel more agitated. “a total of three.” james speaks in a “duh” tone. he’s stating the facts.
“she’s shy-“ remus and sirius speak at the same time, surprised at how james is acting.
“one of them is hagrid!” james continues, raising his voice slightly more than needed. “the other two are pandora and xenophilius!” he continues on his rant. “and they’re more looney than her!”
“i’m her friend james,” remus snaps, angrily at james. his eyes now narrow and lips turned down. his body shaking from anger. “i think she’s the most loveliest thing.” remus voice is sharp, and stern as he moves from his friends. he cast james one more dirty look. “it’s a shame that you can’t see how lovely she is.” and then he walks off, joining you to help the small animal. remus would rather spend time with you, his sweet girl anyways.

James Potter - Jealousy, jealousy
Summary: You kiss Lucius to make James jealous since he was too slow at making a move... wc: 800 ish
James thought that the best way to approach a new relationship - or rather the girl he liked - was by taking it slow. At least, that was the lesson he'd learned with Lily, who got easily tired of his attempts to woo her. But now, as he sat with Remus and Sirius in the Room of Requirements, the party blasting around them, he realised that maybe that wasn't what you wanted.
How did he know?
Well, one could argue that by the way you had your hand on Lucius Malfoy's chest, your own chest brushing up against his while you fluttered your eyes at him, you preferred that men had a more straight-forward approach with you. "Mate you've got to stop staring that hard." Commented Sirius, handing him another drink. James mumbled something incoherent under his breath, interrupted by Remus adding on "You're going to burn holes right through her tits." James broke his gaze from you, turning abruptly to look at Remus "I'm not staring at her tits, I just- I know she likes me back so why? Why him?"
He barely heard Marlene laugh from beside him, patting his shoulder with fake sympathy "Oh yeah, I wonder, why him? It's almost as though she's trying to make you jealous or something." She paused while watching James' face, and when she got no look of realisation from it, she sighed, continuing "You know, because you hate him?"
James shook his head "No, she wouldn't do that." There was a moment of silence during which a soundless conversation between Marlene and Remus was taking place. James saw Marlene shrug her shoulders at Remus from the corner of his eye, spinning on her heels and walking away from the three boys, leaving the problem solving to them. He furrowed his eyebrows, watching as the hand you had on Lucius's chest begun to trail upwards until it rested on the nape of his neck. With horror, his eyes followed Lucius's hand which dragged up your side to rest on your jaw, keeping your head tilted upwards to look at him with those beautiful eyes of yours.
It was as though everything went in slow motion, the music tuning out and the background blurring, James's gaze only set on you and Lucius fucking Malfoy, who was now lowering his face down so he could press his lips against yours. James could almost hear the satisfactory sigh you let out as you got onto your tippy toes, pressing yourself up against his mortal enemy.
Remus's pat on the back was almost enough to make up for Sirius's loud pitiful groan, but the embarrassment of the situation had him marching straight up to you and Malfoy, who he shoved away from you with full force. You squealed in shock, looking at Lucius, who had taken a tumble to the ground and back at James whose eyes were burning with rage and jealousy. You bit the inside of your cheek to stop a smile from spreading on your face, instead looking up at the boy with doe eyes. "Out, now." Lucius was now stood up, frantically brushing his hair out of his eyes, but before he could retaliate at James, you were halfway across the room, blindly following him out into the dimly lit hallway.
On your way out, you caught Remus's eye, and he grinned at you, shaking his head in fake disapproval. Once you were alone in the hallway, you barely got the chance to look up at James before he was mimicking his earlier actions towards Lucius on you, pushing you against the wall so he could kiss you roughly. You moaned in shock, hands instantly travelling to the back of James's neck so you could pull him closer while returning the kiss.
James was panting when he pulled away from you, his big hands on your shoulders, pressing you against the wall to keep you from stepping closer to him. "Now fucking explain to me why you were kissing Lucius Malfoy." Your jaw went slack at the dominance in James' usually light-hearted voice and you stuttered, nearly forgetting about your plan to play dumb. "I don't- I don't know what you mean."
"Yeah Potter," A voice interrupted, making you both turn around to face it. "If she wants to go around kissing me, I think we should all let her." Continued Lucius, stepping deeper into the corridor. You sighed, turning back to face James, whose hands were still on you, but was facing Lucius with a look of disgust on his face. You knew what you had to do. You put your hands on James's face so he instinctively looked at you, and you pulled him forward so you could kiss him again, effectively getting both Lucius away from you and James to forget that you were kissing him mere minutes ago.

Strawberries

“So you’ve never read Pride and Prejudice?” You asked, almost offended by your discovery.
“No. Do you happen to remember that my parents are blood supremacists who forbade me from reading muggle literature?” Regulus responded.
“Okay, maybe I forgot. Either way, this is unacceptable. Reggie, it appears we have found our next book to read.” You announced, picking up a strawberry that Regulus had been reaching for.
“Oi! I was gonna grab that one!” He exclaimed, trying to reach for the red fruit, only to have you pull your arm away from him.
“You snooze, you lose,” You said with a shake of your head.
However, right as you went to bite into the sweet berry, Regulus tackled you, his body hovering over yours and your wrists pinned against the picnic blanket laid on the grass.
Throughout being tackled, you somehow managed to continue your hold on the strawberry, refusing to yield to him.
“You could’ve just asked to split it and I would’ve done it, love,” You pointed out, cocking your eyebrow.
“Well, this is much more fun. Isn’t it?” Regulus’s voice dropped to a whisper, his face lowering closer and closer to yours.
“It is…” You breathed out, lifting your head up until Regulus’s lips were pressed against yours, his hair brushing against your forehead.
The blissful silence was broken by a loud shout.
“What the hell is this?!” Sirius yelled, causing the two sixteen-year-olds to quickly break apart, scrambling to opposite sides of the blanket with their eyes wide in horror, the strawberry long forgotten.
You opened your mouth to respond but faltered at the rage burning in Sirius’s eyes.
“What is it Padfo- what in Merlin’s name is going on here?!” James’s eyes fell upon the sight of Regulus and you, his big brother mode immediately activating.
All words of defense and explanation quickly disappeared from your tongue, unsure of how to respond to the obvious rage emitting from the two boys.
“James, Sirius, I... I can explain- we can explain, please-” You stuttered out, struggling to get any words out of your mouth as your panic set in.
“No. No, c’mon Y/N, we’re leaving,” James said, his voice as firm as his grip on your arm as he pulled you off of the blanket, glaring at Regulus and dragging you away from the Black brothers- one of which was frozen in horror, the other seething with rage.
“Y/N-!” Regulus called out, going to stand before falling back from a shove from Sirius.
“What the fuck, Regulus?!” Sirius exclaimed, “Why her? Out of every girl in this school, you chose the one who’s like a little sister to me- is it to get back at me for leaving?”
“It’s not that, Sirius- I…” Regulus faltered.
“What? Spit it out!”
"Listen, I... I really like Y/N- really like her. Please, I'm not doing this out of vengeance, Sirius. I wouldn't even think about hurting Y/N! Siri… I’m not lying to you, I swear," Regulus stuttered out, the childhood nickname accidentally slipping off his tongue, "It's... real and I've never experienced anything like it before.”
“Godric… I just don’t…” Sirius paused, chewing on his lip, “I can’t do this right now.”
Sirius turned around for a moment, but turned to face his brother once more, “We aren’t done, Regulus. But this? This is.”
Regulus sat there speechless as his brother jogged to catch up to James and you, looking down to see the red strawberry sitting on the blanket, miraculously untouched.

Not Half Bad - Marauders x Reader
AN - I'm a few minutes early but happy valentine's day, my loves. I wanted to post something that wasn't crazy romantic because I know today can be pretty lonely. So, enjoy some platonic marauders x reader fluff. This is my first time writing anything like this so please let me know what you think. 1.7k words.
Y/N startled awake, her head throbbing and her eyes swollen from tears. She groaned softly, feeling the weight of exhaustion as she rubbed her face, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. Then, the unmistakable sound echoed through her apartment again.
Bang, bang, bang.
With a resigned sigh, Y/N muttered curses under her breath before she shuffled towards the front door. The harsh hallway light made her squint as she opened the door, taking a moment to register the trio standing before her.
“Come on, you. Out of the way, we’ve got some serious work to do!” James declared, gently nudging Y/N aside to enter her apartment, with Remus and Sirius following close behind.
“What the hell are you doing? It’s practically the crack of dawn!” She exclaimed; her voice still thick with sleep.
“Oh, yeah? And you’d know what time of day it was, would you?” Sirius teased, theatrically throwing open her curtains, allowing light to flood into the room for the first time in days.
“We’re on damage control. Y’know, since we haven’t heard from you in almost a week.” Remus explained, heading straight into the kitchen and flicking the kettle on.
Y/N sighed heavily, feeling a pang of guilt for having shut off herself off from her friends after her recent break up. The end of her relationship had hit her harder than she had ever anticipated, leaving her feeling raw and vulnerable. She hadn’t felt up to facing her friends properly. She had shot them a quick message briefly explaining the situation before shutting off her phone and finding solace in her own company as she grappled with the emotional fallout.
Remus busied himself in the kitchen while he waited for the kettle to boil. He had a tea towel swung over his shoulder as he started washing the dishes that had been piling up in the sink. James was getting the living room straight, opening windows, clearing up the endless piles of scrunched up tissues and fluffing up the sofa cushions.
“You don’t have to do all this – I'm fine!” Y/N protested.
“Stop fussing and just let us help you,” Sirius chimed in, poking his head around the doorway from where he was in the bathroom, “Now, get in here because I’ve just run you a bath.”
Y/N’s protests died on her lips as she relented, allowing herself to be guided into the bathroom by Sirius’s firm but caring insistence. The soothing scent of lavender filled the air as she stepped into the room. Sirius shut the door behind her, allowing some privacy. He had set her some fresh towels and clean clothes on the side, even going as far as to light a few candles. Y/N let out a sigh as she sank into the tub, the warm water washing over her tired body.
After a while, Y/N emerged from the bathroom feeling a bit lighter. She smiled at the three boys, appreciating their practical gestures of support. They had practically cleaned her whole apartment while she was in the bath. It had taken a bit of a hit in the week that she had been moping around. Remus had set her a steaming mug of tea on the coffee table, and she took it into her hands eagerly.
“Feeling better?” he asked, patting the spot on the sofa next to him.
“Much better. Thanks for the rescue” she smiled at each of them, “I owe you guys one.”
“Nonsense.” James dismissed with a wave of his hand, “That’s what friends are for. Plus, I’ve been dying to bring out my superhero cape.”
Remus snorted into his tea, “Superhero cape? More like a tea towel tied around your neck, mate.”
“Hey, it’s all about the dramatic effect, Moony. You should try it some time.” James mock-glared at him.
“I’d pay good money to see that.” Y/N laughed.
“You nearly did!” Sirius remarked, “I literally had to pry it from around his neck before you got out of the bath.”
Y/N burst into laughter at the mental image, shaking her head in amusement, “I can only imagine the heroic struggle.” She said, grinning at James, who rolled his eyes with a good natured sigh.
“Yeah, well, it was a valiant effort on his part,” James admitted, earning a playful elbow jab from Sirius.
It was the first time in a good week or so, that Y/N had laughed properly. She felt her spirits lift with each passing moment, the heaviness that had weighed in her heart for the last week beginning to fade. Their light-hearted banter and playful antics had a way of lifting her spirits, offering a welcomed distraction from her recent troubles. It was only when the boys stood up to leave that the empty feeling in the pit of her stomach started to return.
Sirius noticed her face fall when they started getting ready to leave, each of them shrugging on their coats and slipping into their shoes.
“Don’t worry, we’re coming back.” Sirius reassured her.
“Yeah, you didn’t think that you could get rid of us that easily, did you?” Remus chuckled.
“We’ve just got to nip out to get some stuff but then we’ll be back.” James promised.
“What stuff?” she questioned.
“Ask us no questions and we’ll tell you no lies.” James quipped, playfully tapping her on the nose before swiftly exiting.
A bemused smile played on her lips as she watched her friends disappear. Although they had only been around at her flat for a few hours, it felt eerily empty now that they had gone. Collapsing onto the sofa, she reached for her phone, hesitating before finally switching it on after days of deliberate avoidance. There was the expected flurry of messages from her friends and family checking in on her and she made a mental note to reply to them later on. She quickly deleted a particularly nasty text from her ex before she gave herself chance to read it properly. As the screen blinked back up at her, the date glared back with unexpected significance.
Valentine’s Day.
The realisation hit her and stirred up memories and emotions that she had been trying to suppress. She couldn’t help but feel a twinge of loneliness as she thought back to past Valentine’s Day spent with her now ex-partner. For a moment, she regretted even switching on her phone; ignorance might have been bliss on a day like today. Tears prickled in her eyes and she bit down on her lip in a futile attempt to hold back the flood of emotions.
Just as she had been earlier that morning, she was brought back to reality by the door of her apartment swinging open and James, Remus and Sirius bustling back inside.
“Told you we wouldn’t be long!” James said brightly, though the look soon dropped from his face the second his eyes fell on Y/N.
“Oh, no! What’s happened? Everything okay?” Sirius rushed over and crouched in front of her, so his face was level to where she was slumped on the sofa.
“It’s silly,” she sniffled, “I turned on my phone because obviously I’ve been avoiding it for ages and I saw the date. It’s just... overwhelming.”
Remus moved to sit beside her, his presence a comforting anchor as he place a hand on her shoulder.
“It’s not silly at all, Y/N. Valentine’s Day can be shit. Especially after everything you’ve been through.” he said softly, offering her a sympathetic smile.
James signed, rubbing the back of his neck as he stepped closer, “We came over today because... well we didn’t want you to spend Valentine’s Day alone. We didn’t realise that you didn't even know what day it was. We’ve kind of fucked up really, haven’t we?”
“Don’t be daft.” Y/N wiped the tears away with her sleeve, “You’ve already cheered me up so much just by being here.”
“Let’s not stop now then, eh?” Sirius said, patting her affectionately on the head as he stood up, “We’ve got plenty more planned for this evening. Why don’t you go get yourself freshened up while we get set up in here?”
Y/N smiled gratefully and obliged, making her way to the bathroom. She splashed her face with cool water, letting it wash away the remnants of tears that clung to her skin. As she caught sight of herself in the mirror, she forced a smile onto her face in an attempt to make herself feel better. She quickly ran her hands through her hair and smoothed out the wrinkles in her clothes.
In the other room, the boys had sprung to action. James rummaged through the bags of shopping, his brows furrowed in concentration as he set about preparing dinner. Remus, ever the organiser, rearranged the furniture to create a cosier and more comfortable set up for them. Sirius, with his flair for the dramatic, set about lighting candles and pulled an assortment of decorations from his bag to add a festive touch to the occasion.
As Y/N stepped out of the bathroom, her eyes widened in surprise at the transformation that had taken place in the living room. The warm glow of candlelight danced across the walls, casting soft shadows across the room. Tears of gratitude welled in her eyes and with a shaky breath she made her way to join them.
“Speechless, huh?” Sirius joked gently, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes.
Y/N managed a watery smile, “I don’t even know what to say.”
“Nothing needs to be said.” James stepped in from the kitchen, floral apron tied around his waist.
“Just know that we’ve got your back always, yeah?” Remus chimed in.
With a grateful nod, Y/N settled into her seat at the table, feeling a sense of peace wash over her.
“Nice apron, James.” Y/N teased, unable to contain her laughter.
“What can I say? Real men wear floral.” he quipped, setting down plates of food in front of each of them.
“Ah! I almost forgot!” Sirius stood up quickly from the table and disappeared into the other room.
He returned a few moments later, holding a bouquet of flowers. He presented them to her with a flourish. Y/N gasped in response.
“You really didn’t have to!” she protested, her voice filled with gratitude, “You’ve already done so much for me today!”
“We wanted to.” Remus smiled.
“Besides, we’d be pretty crappy mates if we let you go a whole Valentine’s Day without flowers.” Sirius chuckled.
“Yeah, it’s practically a cardinal sin to neglect such an important tradition.” Remus nodded in agreement.
“See? We’re not completely useless, are we?” James nudged her, grinning.
“Nah, you’re not half bad.” she beamed back at them, “I might even go as far as to say that you’re the best.”

We'll heal together: Prologue
Harry Potter x Reader (Platonic)
Masterlist
Summary: Harry Potter grew up without the warmth of a family he should have known. A father in James Potter, a mother in Lily Potter, a God Father in Sirius Black, and an Uncle in Remus Lupin. Oh, and let's not forget, an aunt in {Y/N} {L/N}.
Cw: Use of {Y/N}, thoughts of self pity and mourning, {please reach out if I missed something}
Wc-526
Harry felt lost, he felt cold.
He found himself at the astronomy tower late at night, wrapped in the invisibility cloak up to his neck and leaning forward on the banister rail. His eyes were hazy, glossy and warm, fogging his glasses. With a huff he pulled them off and cleaned them with a corner of the cloak, sliding them back up his face as the hot tears that threatened to spill just made him repeat the process.
He had been wandering late at night, really anything to keep his mind off of everything that had happened so far. He felt guilty, this year had started off so well, all of his friends seemed to be happy, but here he was, Harry Potter, moping over a love he truly never knew.
He found his eyes drifting up to the stars. He had never seen so many before Hogwarts, in the city he grew up in, even the skies seemed dark in the clearest of nights. His mind attempted to wander, back to the Dudley's and the cupboard he slept in. The life he was denied and the truths they kept. But he pulled himself from those thoughts as soon as he could, focusing instead on the lights.
He squinted, as if the constellations he learned of in class would suddenly take shape. That they would morphe into creatures and instruments, the ones that matched the stories he heard. That Leo would suddenly come to life and the two lions he heard so much about would return to him, back home to his heart. He found it fitting, being born to those clusters of stars. He himself had put them up there, in protecting him, and now they were forever what he would think of. The two lions who fought so fiercely just to meet him. Just to have him. But he sat here, weeping their names, as if he had even known them.
He shook the thought away. He would not sit here moping about his dead parents. Even with his mini pep talk, he found his eyes dragging up to the sky once more. His eyes caught by the brightest star in the sky. He frowned, slowly sitting up straight as he witnessed it, a pout growing harder. Before he could ponder what the longing in his heart was, he heard it. The foot falls of the Prefects on their rounds.
Harry huffed and shook his head. He needed to go back to bed.
The moon provided a strange warmth in his stomach that he had never known before, as its light flickered in the halls everytime he passed a window. He let his eyes trail back to the window, pausing for only a moment as he saw what seemed to be a small fox scurry its way between the courtyard walls and a small burrow it seemed to have made for itself. He found himself smiling despite it all, tonight was.. wasn't all bad. Summer was soon, and next year, there would be no Tom Riddle, no basilisks to fight, no Lockheart. After this summer, it would be okay.
Year 3 would be his year.

haircare routine
pairing: sirius black x fem!reader
description: in which sirius does your hair.
tags: fluff, they're best friends so platonic!!, sirius takes reader through his extensive routine that he undoubtedly has because he has amazing hair, reader is a bit lazy so im assuming she uses no products, reader wears a swimsuit but nothing is specified.
a/n: first sirius piece!! i love that guy. also, i'm being so unspecific about the bathroom arrangements, so think of it however you want. i didn't want to get too into the logistics. enjoy!
wc: 854
“ow! fuck, sirius,” you curse as he yanks your head with a brush. he continues to abuse that knot in your hair much to your dismay.
“it's not my fault your hair is like this.”
“yeah, but- ah! i said i could do it myself.”
“when? you wouldve left it like this for a few more days and then been all pissy to me because you look like shit. i'm doing you a favour. stay still,” he says firmly.
you whine, “you could be less rough with it.”
“sorry,” he frowns sympathetically at you in the mirror, “just trying to detangle, ‘m almost done.”
his actions soften, smoothing a hand over your hair. he turns you around and nods his head toward the bathroom. “get in the tub, i'll be there in a second.”
james had dared you to jump in the lake and you, always up for a challenge, did it. when sirius found you, sopping strands and layered clothes, he coerced you into letting him wash your hair, yapping on about how your hair’s going to be matted if you don't shampoo it now–high maintenance prick.
you assess the temperature of the water, deeming it perfect, you take off the damp shirt you had on. climbing in carefully, you sink down till you're fully submerged, letting the warmth encompass you. you come back up for air after a few seconds, and sirius walks in with a stool. he sets it behind the clawfoot and looks at you.
“where'd you get that swimsuit from?”
“oh, got it from marlene, i ran into the changing room after her swim team practice.”
its explanation enough for him as he doesnt press further, far be it from him to question your antics. he pulls out a shampoo and conditioner–his ones, fancy looking bottles with labels written in cursive print, they exude expensive, nothing like the plastic bottles that sat in your shower caddy.
he sits down and picks up a cup filled with water and tips it over your head, you don't mind that it drips down your face. he slowly scrubs the shampoo into your scalp, unintentionally massaging as he goes, you hum in approval and he chuckles. he does this twice, rinsing off the soapy suds before moving on to the conditioner, raking it through your ends. he combs through your hair before washing that off too.
when he's done, he leaves you to clean the rest of your body. Its a clumsy ordeal taking off the swimsuit that clung to your skin, but you manage, leaving a few puddles in your wake. stepping out of the tub, you slip into a bathrobe, securing the tie at your waist. you walk out to find sirius waiting next to the vanity.
“what are you still doing here?”
“you’re getting the full treatment, sweetheart,” he urges you closer, “c’mon sit.”
you tentatively step forward and take a seat in front of the mirror, eyeing the box of vials–all glass but containing liquids of different colours and consistencies. you peer at him suspiciously through the mirror.
“you're not dyeing my hair green are you…?”
he flashes you a wicked smile that makes you nervous, “if i was, would i tell you?”
a small pout forms on your lips and he shifts to earnest, fingers gently raking through your hair, “i'm not,” he says firmly.
a hint of hesitancy remains but you nod nonetheless, allowing him to begin.
you watch as he pours product into his hand, and work it into the damp strands, making sure to evenly coat it. he crosses over to stand before you, a different substance in his palm, it looks like whipped cream and you arent sure how he managed to get it to foam up like that.
“bend your head please,” he guides your head down till your hair hangs over, he kneels down too. “your neck will hurt a bit because of the angle, but i’ll finish up quickly.”
he scrunches your hair up, careful not to accidently tug, causing drops of water to trickle down his arm. he continues doing this all over, all the way up into the roots. you notice how loose ringlets of curls form as he lets go.
when he finishes, he mutters a quick drying spell, one that when you use leaves your hair a frizzy mess but when he does, it looks fine. maybe those strange vials contributed to that.
he stands and raises you up with him. he's still in front of you so it obstructs your view of the mirror. he sneaks his fingers in and shakes through your hair, to give it more volume, he confirms later.
finally, stepping aside, you see yourself. he's stood beside you, with a somewhat smug look on his face, as you admire your hair. the waves are defined and remind you of your hair when you're at the beach, only healthier and more hydrated.
“thanks,” you chirp, offering him a small appreciative smile.
he brushes it off with a wink, returning your smile, “you've got great hair, you should let me style it more often.”

A Million Dreams
Warnings: slight violence, mentions of dying, let me know if I missed any :)
Pairings: Marauders x reader platonic
*not my gif*
Summary: The school years go by a lot faster with a solid group of friends by your side
A/N: Welcome to book place’s one year event!!
Inspired by: A Million Dreams by The Greatest Showman cast
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
I close my eyes and I can see
“Hello there,” Your head shifted over, eyes locking onto a nervous looking boy, standing at the door of your compartment.
“Hi!” You piped back happily, fully turning your body away from the window to face him.
His cheeks tinted a slight pink as his eyes averted to the ground, where he was shuffling his feet back and forth shyly, “All the other carts are full… is it alright if I sit here?”
A wide grin spread onto your face, “Of course!” You beamed, glimmers of hope shooting through you at the idea of being able to make a friend- on your first express ride nonetheless.
Relief sagged onto his face, “Oh, thank you,” He gushed, scurrying over and plopping down onto the cushioned seat across from you, a large trunk with the Hogwarts emblem on it in tow.
“I’m Y/n, by the way,” You informed him, smile yet to drop.
“Peter.” He responded, reaching over and gently shaking your hand.
“Are you a first year as well?” You asked curiously, leaning back in your seat.
He nodded, “Yeah, I’m kind of nervous, though-“
Before he could continue his thought, another knock sounded from the door and the two of you looked up, being met with the sight of two more boys peering through the doorway.
One of them had round-framed glasses and shaggy hair that seemed to stick up every which way while the other had similar black hair that went down to his shoulders.
“Hey there,” The first boy greeted with a toothy grin, “Me and this bloke just met, we’re looking for somewhere to sit. Do you mind?”
“Not at all!” You chirped, glancing at Peter for confirmation. The boy was smiling politely, so you took that as a yes.
“Wonderful!” The boy dove forward, plopping down on the cushion next to Peter rather quickly, sticking a hand in his direction to shake, “I’m James by the way.”
“And I’m Sirius.” The other boy spoke up for the first time, moving to sit across from James and next to you.
“I’m Y/n and this is Peter, we just met as well!”
The bespeckled boy allowed his grin to widen as he settled back in his seat, “I have a feeling that we’re all going to be great friends.”
“Here, here!” Sirius pumped a fist in the air.
A world that's waiting up for me, that I call my own
“Wow,” You breathed out, spinning in a small circle as you took in the room before you, “This room is way different than mine.”
After meeting the three boys on the train, you had all been taken to the sorting ceremony, only to realize with extreme delight that you were all placed into the house of the lion. Now, you had already unpacked your stuff in your dorm and had wandered over to the boys to see what theirs was like.
“I wish we could see yours,” James pouted and crossed his arms, “It's blatant unfairness that boys aren't allowed in the girls dormitories, but girls are allowed to come into ours as they wish!”
You giggled, reaching over and ruffling the boys' already unkempt hair, “It’s only because we’re better than you.”
Just as he opened his mouth to protest in offense, the boy's door crept open and in walked a tall boy with faint scars running over his face.
He blinked once in surprise when all of you stopped what you were doing and turned to face him, “Oh-erm- sorry,” He cleared his throat, “This is my dorm as well,”
Sirius didn’t miss a beat, grinning widely and bounding across the room, linking his arm around the boy's shoulders, “Well then, welcome, roomie!” He exclaimed excitedly.
“Welcome!” Peter piped up as well.
You gave the boy a wave when his eyes landed on you, “I’m not your roommate, but it’s nice to meet you.”
He gave you a small smile before letting his eyes flit over to the others, “I’m Remus.”
“Nice to meet you, Remus.” James greeted happily.
Through the dark, through the door
“Is class always going to be this boring?” You asked with a dramatic yawn.
You and the other boys were in your first class of the school year, History of Magic, and you couldn’t even fathom the idea of sitting through this class almost everyday.
“Normally I’d disagree,” Remus muttered, leaning farther back in his seat, “But I’m about to fall asleep.”
As if right on cue, James let out a quiet snore. His head was propped up in one palm, but slipping slightly.
“Is it almost lunch time?” Peter whined under his breath.
“We’ve only been here for fifteen minutes,” Remus informed him sorrowfully. His words made Sirius look close to tears.
On the other hand, you were extremely happy that the five of you got along so well, you were almost always hanging out with each other.
It made you feel slightly less anxious about the future of your time at Hogwarts knowing that you had a solid group of friends.
Through where no one's been before
“Come on, Remus, don’t be a downer.” Sirius teased with one of those grins of his that promised nothing but trouble.
“I’m not being a downer,” The boy lectured, “I’m trying to keep us alive.”
“Being alive is overrated!” James cheered, jumping up and wrapping an arm around Remus’s neck to bring him into a playful chokehold.
“You say that until we’re dead.” He grumbled in return, easily slipping out of the boy's hold.
“Now, now, guys,” You mockingly scolded, “If Remus wants to go back to the castle and stay with Peter, then he’s more than welcome.”
Said poor boy had fallen asleep while you all waited for the prefect rounds to finish so you could sneak out of the castle and onto the grounds surrounding it.
Lupin rolled his eyes, “Someone has to stay here to keep you bloody idiots out of trouble.”
You and James let out identical whoops of celebration, high fiving and continuing to skip joyfully towards the Forbidden Forest when the bespectacled boy let his grip loosen on Remus.
“We have to be the only first years to ever do this,” James gushed excitedly, “We’re doing something no one our age has ever done before!”
“Maybe that’s because others our age aren’t downright daft enough to even consider this.” Remus hissed, “It’s one thing to sneak into the professors lounge, this is completely different.”
“Cheer up, Remus,” Sirius swung an arm over the boy's shoulder as you all strode through the trees that blocked out all moonlight except for the occasional ray.
“This is going to be so fun,” You surged forwards with a hop in your step.
“Nothing about this is fun!” Remus insisted, beginning to try and chase after you as you got farther and farther away.
But it feels like home
You yawned loudly, trying to muffle it with a hand to the mouth, but still snuggling back farther into the couch cushions.
Around you, your friends were spread out around the great fire in the common room, just hanging out during the very early hours of the morning after having stayed up all night. There was no doubt the sun would be rising very soon.
“You know,” Sirius spoke, “I overheard some Hufflepuff fourth years talking about us,”
“What did they say?” Peter asked curiously from where he was curled up on an armchair with a blanket wrapped tightly around his shoulders.
“They were just talking about our prank in the Great Hall the other day,” He smiled slightly, “They called us ‘The Marauders’”
James perked his head up, “What does that mean?”
“It means ‘raider’.” Remus mumbled sleepily. Of course he knew.
A light smile played on the ends of your lips as you let your eyes flutter shut, “That’s badass.”
“I like it,” James agreed, “We should use it.”
That was the last thing you heard before sleep swept you into its embrace. A feeling warmed your heart as well, a feeling of belonging. Of love. Of home.
They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
“Hurry up!” Remus hissed, “Finch’s gonna be here at any moment and you’re all moving slower than Pete after the Halloween feast!”
“Hey!” Peter whined in complaint, but nobody paid him any mind.
“Remus, this is our first prank of second year, it has to be good.” James insisted, “And might I remind you that you’re the one who thought of it.”
“But I didn’t think we would be setting the dungbombs off in the Slytherin common room!”
There was a glint of mischief in your eyes, “Again, your idea. Not to mention the fact that you’re also the one that figured out the password to their dormitories.”
He shot you a glare, “You were encouraging it!”
“And I will continue to,” You grinned in his direction.
“Shh,” Sirius shushed you, “You’ll wake the bloody snakes up.”
You carefully set the last dungbomb in place and immediately turned on your heel and began sprinting towards the door, the sound of thundering footsteps from the rest of the marauders on your heels.
The door successfully shut behind you right as the first one had gone off.
You all- even Remus- had to try to muffle your cackles of delight all the way back to your own common room after a shout of disgust came from one of the Slytherins and somehow made its way to your ears.
They can say, they can say I've lost my mind
“I’m worried about him, guys,” You mumbled, crossing your arms over your body as you all walked side by side on your way to the infirmary.
James ran a tired hand down his face, letting loose a sigh, “I know, I am too.” He admitted.
“He would tell us if something was wrong, right?” Peter asked timidly, toying with the end of his sleeve.
“I don’t know,” Sirius had a lost look in his eyes, one he almost never had. It was unsettling to see.
“He’s in the hospital wing too much to just be a sickness,” You commented softly, “It’s too much like clockwork- always happening at the same time every month.”
Sirius blanked once in surprise, “I hadn’t thought about that.”
Just then, the four of you quieted when you neared the doors, James holding one of them open until all of you had been able to make your way inside, eyes falling upon Remus, sitting upright against some propped up pillows on the first bed.
His eyes widened when he caught sight of the four of you, “What are you doing here?” He hurriedly rushed out, scrambling to sit even straighter on the bed.
“We came to see you,” Your eyebrows were furrowed as you all drew nearer, “We’re worried about you.”
“You don’t have to be.” His answer came far too quickly for your liking.
“Well, what kinds of friends would we be if we didn’t worry?” James tried to lighten the mood with a smile, but no one joined in.
Remus sighed through his nose, and you suddenly realized how exhausted he looked. How his skin was so pale that his scars were more prominent than normal, and how there were bags under his eyes dark enough to be bruises.
“Just…” You moved to gingerly sit on the end of his bed, “Just tell us what’s going on, Rem, we’re your friends and we deserve to know.”
The boy hesitated, “I… I’ve been keeping something from you all.” He finally muttered out, averting his eyes so stubbornly that nothing could have made him raise his focus from the sheets in front of him at the moment, “I-I’m… I’m a werewolf.”
It was silent.
Remus cringed- or maybe flinched- eyes screwing shut as if in pain.
None of you said anything for a very long time.
“Oh, Remus,” You finally breathed out, reaching across the bed and gently wrapping your arms around the boy.
He blinked in surprise upon impact, “W-what- what are you doing?” He stuttered out, “I-I’m a monster. You shouldn’t be hugging me right now, you should be running away screaming.”
It almost sounded as if he was trying to convince you to do just that.
James appeared at your side, joining in on the hug after a moment, “You’re not a monster, Remus.”
“You’re our best friend.” Sirius came over as well, closely followed by Peter.
The werewolf’s breath seemed to hitch in his throat as tears welled up in his eyes and he hugged every single one of you back tightly, “T-thank you. Thank you all so much.” He began sobbing quietly. You all just held him tighter.
Eventually, Madame Pomfrey came in and shooed you all out, claiming that Lupin needed some rest. So you four began trekking back to the Gryffindor dormitories, silent for a little while.
“You know,” You spoke up after a little while, “I think there might be a way that we can help him.”
Everyone's heads snapped over to you so fast that you were surprised that they didn’t get whiplash.
“What do you mean?” Sirius asked quickly.
“Well,” You began to explain, “One of the only times I ever paid attention in class was when we had a lesson about werewolves in Defense Against the Dark Arts, and we learned that werewolves won’t hurt other animals.”
James furrowed his eyebrows, “What’re you saying?”
“Animagus.” You stated, “That’s what Professor McGonagall is, she turns herself into a cat. If we can do that, then we can stay with Remus during full moons and we can help him.”
One by one, each one of your three friends' faces lit up.
“That’s bloody brilliant,” Sirius gushed, “And we can turn into our favorite animals. I want to be a dog.”
“Deer!” James cheered.
“I’ve always liked rats and mice.” Peter mused.
“And foxes are nice.” You said dreamily.
“This might just work afterall.” James said with a wide smile.
I don't care, I don't care, if they call me crazy
You sniffled, trying to muffle your cries with a shaky hand resting over your mouth- to almost no avail.
Thankfully though, you were around a corner in a corridor that nobody ever wandered into because it was just a dead end with no doors, so hopefully nobody would come by and see you in your pathetic state.
You tried not to let their words get to you- you really did- but the merciless students just made it so hard to do so.
Freak. Disappointment. Good for nothing. Trouble-
Their voices just kept bouncing back and forth inside your head, ringing on and on like an endless bell. Never once giving you a moment of peace.
Kids from all different houses had been picking on you for a while now. And at first, you just let it bounce off of you, you remained uncaring- never even finding the need to tell your friends about it. But it didn’t take long for their words to begin to wear you down, break through your barriers and begin getting to you.
“Y/n?”
Your head snapped up and your eyes got went at the sight of your four closest friends approaching you with just as much worry as there was hesitation within them.
Quickly, you swiped at your face with the back of your sleeve, trying too late to rid of the tear stained evidence.
“G-guys,” You stuttered out, staggering to your feet, “What are you doing?”
“What happened?” James ignored your question as he walked closer with furrowed eyebrows.
“Nothing, it’s nothing,” You quickly cleared your throat.
“It doesn’t seem like nothing,” Peter piped up, concern shining in his eyes.
You released a shaky sigh, falling backwards against the wall and dropping your head, unable to keep up your already flimsy charade any longer.
“Kids are making fun of me,” You mumbled, “It’s stupid, and that’s all. Nothing I can’t handle.”
Looks of rage immediately took over all four of their faces.
“Who?” Sirius seethed, already curling his hands into fists at his sides, “Just point me in their direction-“
“Us in their direction,” James corrected, jaw clenched in a way that left for an unsettling sight.
“Oh, n/n,” Remus sighed, anger washing away momentarily as he quickly moved forward to bring you into a hug, “I’m so sorry.”
He rubbed your back comfortingly and you greatfully relaxed into his hold.
“Don’t listen to any terrible thing they say to you,” He murmured into your ear, “I can guarantee you that every single one of them is a lie.”
You sighed, “Thanks, Rem.” You sniffled.
The four of them exchanged looks over your shoulder. Those kids would get what was coming to them- eventually. But for now, you needed them.
We can live in a world that we design
“We need new names,” James announced suddenly, leaning his back further against the tree behind him.
Peter looked up with a small frown pulling at his lips, “But I like my name.” He mumbled.
The black haired boy shook his head, messy locks of hair bouncing back and forth at the action, “No, I mean like nicknames. Everyone is already starting to call us ‘The Marauders’ so why not fit into it even more?”
You grinned, throwing your head to the side to look at him, “I like your thinking, J.”
“Well, I was thinking maybe they could have something to do with our animagus’s.” James had a wild grin on, “You know, so it would be like our own little inside joke.”
Remus paled, “Nope, no way, nope. That is far too risky.”
Sirius threw his head back and groan, “Oh, come now, Remus! It would be so much fun!”
“I agree,” You spoke thoughtfully, “It’s not like anyone even has a small indication about what we are, so what’s the harm?”
The tall boy still hesitated, so you all threw your best pleading faces his way- James and Sirius even going as far to put their hands together and shake them in a begging way.
“Please, Rem, please!” The two chorused.
“Oh, all right,” He finally gave in, sighing and running a hand down his face, “But don’t come crying to me if you get caught because of this.” He warned.
After much discussion and debate, the night ended with each of you being able to settle on a nickname that was subtle enough, but also downright hilarious to those who knew your secret- the five of you.
James was Prongs, Sirius was Padfoot, Remus was Moony, Peter was Wormtail, and you were Vix.
'Cause every night, I lie in bed, the brightest colors fill my head
“Pst… Y/n… hey, Y/n, wake up!” A voice whispered directly in your ear like an annoying fly that couldn’t be swatted away.
“Shut up,” You mumbled sleepily, wrapping your blanket tighter around yourself and burying your face further into your pillow.
“I told you we shouldn’t wake her,” Peter’s voice had a somewhat frightened tinge to it, “She’s gonna be angry if we do.”
A scoff came from James, “What are you, mate, five?” He shook your shoulder gently but firmly, “Come on, Vix, wake up-“
You quickly backhanded him in the face, causing a yelp to escape from his lips and his grip to loosen on you as he fell back with a cry, clutching his nose.
Remus snickered, “He tried to warn you, Prongs.”
Your eyes finally forced themselves open, and you glared at your four friends that stood above you, bickering back and forth with one another.
“What do you bloody idiots want?” You hissed.
Sirius held his hands up in mock surrender, “Hey, you’re the one that fell asleep in our room.”
“We wanted to sneak down to the kitchens and get some cookies!” Peter was bouncing on the balls of his feet excitedly, eyes wide and glistening with glee.
“You couldn’t have done it yourself?” You grumbled, slowly sitting up and stretching your stiff bones.
James pouted, finally relinquishing his hold on his nose to cross his arms over his chest, “It wouldn’t be the same without you.” He paused in mock thought, “Although, I don’t entirely see how deserving you are of joining us on our expedition after you attacked me in my own dorm.”
“You had it coming, mate.” Remus clapped him on the back, clearly fighting back an amused smile.
A large eye roll made its way out of you as you threw your legs over the side of the bed, “Enough of the dramatics, Prongsie, it’s time to go steal some cookies.”
Peter let out a cheer of happiness, only to be quickly shushed by the four of you in fear of waking any nearby dorms.
A million dreams are keeping me awake
“It’s beautiful,” Your mouth was gaped open slightly in awe as your neck was craned back to stare at the starry sky.
Sirius hummed in agreement, lowering himself so he was laying on his back with his arms folded under his head.
“I bet you can name all the constellations up there,” You teased.
He made a show of mockingly shrugging his shoulders, “No, not all… just most.”
You laughed lightly, falling backwards so you were next to him on the floor of the astronomy tower.
Neither of you had been able to sleep so you had snuck out of the dorms to climb up here and silently enjoy the view.
“I can't believe we’re already fourth years,” You said offhandedly, “It feels like only yesterday we were being sorted.”
“I know,” The boy sighed, “The years are flying by.”
Both of your heads turned to look at each other for a few moments, only a few blinks exchanged together, before you burst out in laughter, holding your stomachs and you rolled around on the ground.
“We sound so old,” You snickered after a little while once you had sobered up a bit.
“Perhaps we finally are,” Sirius grinned, “Give it another year and we’ll be looking like Dumbledore.”
That was followed by another fit of giggles that evidently led the Ravenclaw head girl on patrol to finding you and docking points off of Gryffindor house.
I think of what the world could be, a vision of the one I see
“If you could be anything,” James spoke suddenly, breaking the silence that had encompassed all of you, “What would you be?”
You were all spread around the boys dorm rooms, each minding your own tasks when he asked the question.
Remus had been trying to do some homework, Peter had been nibbling on a snack, Sirius had been dozing off and on, James was throwing a snitch up and down, and you were trying to read a book that Moony had recommended.
“You’re too random for your own good, Prongs,” Remus muttered.
“A unicorn,” Sirius answered immediately, ignoring the other boy, not taking off the arm he had draped over his eyes as he lay stretched out on his back atop of his bed.
“Then why isn’t that your animagus?” You asked curiously.
The boy's face dropped, “I hadn’t thought of it at the time.”
“Perhaps you would have been a lot cooler if you did,” James teased, tapping his chin in mock thoughtfulness.
“Oi!” Sirius bolted upright on his bed and glared at the boy, “Take that back!”
The bespectacled boy grinned, “Never.”
“Oh, Merlin, here we go,” Remus closed his eyes with a groan.
You excitedly scrambled over to where Peter and Remus sat, “I’ve got five gallons on Sirius.” You whisper-yelled to the two as said boy lunged at James, tackling him to the ground.
Peter giggled, taking another bite of his treat, “It’s hard to say.”
Both of you turned expectantly towards Remus, who only blinked at you both for a moment.
“My moneys on James,” He finally gave in after a moment, turning his head towards the fight.
“Hey!” Sirius whined from where he held James in a headlock nearby, “I heard that!”
Lupin rolled his eyes in amusement as you and Peter burst into a fit of laughter.
“Distraction!” James let out a war cry as he shouted it, elbowing his friend in the stomach and gaining the upper hand in the fight.
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
“Minnie!” You, Sirius, and James squealed simultaneously.
The professor had a frown pulling at the edges of her lips, “Potter. Black. L/n.”
“Oh, Minnie!” You cried dramatically, throwing yourself across a chair near the front rows of desks in her classroom, “How I’ve missed you!”
“I has been two hours since we’ve last seen each other, Miss. L/n.” The woman deadpanned, then gave a pointed look, “Remember? When I gave you this detention?”
You tapped your chin in mock thought, “It rings a bell.”
She tutted and rolled her eyes disapprovingly, “Just take a seat.”
The three of you immediately plopped down in the row right in front of her desk.
“It’s not fair,” Sirius muttered into your ear, “Remus was the one to come up with the prank and the bloke doesn’t even have to be there.”
“That’s because he wasn’t stupid enough to get caught.” You grumbled with a huff of breath.
“This is the third time this week you all have gotten a detention,” Minerva scolded, “I expect better from you.”
You and Sirius burst out into laughter and James raised a single eyebrow whilst snickering, “Better? Minnie, you ought to know us better than that by now.”
She rolled her eyes, “Yes, I suppose I must.” She muttered to herself.
Oh, a million dreams for the world we're gonna make
“Let’s go James! Let’s go Sirius!” You cupped your hands around your mouth in hopes that your cheers would somehow magically make its way through the other screams and cheers of your peers and into your friends ears.
Peter clapped loudly from beside you and Remus smiled, wrapping his scarf tighter around himself as the wind harshly whipped against the sea of students.
“Kick their arses, you two!” You screamed again, ignoring the glares from nearby Ravenclaws at your words.
The match against Ravenclaw would decide who won the house cup for the year, and you along with the rest of Gryffindor were more than ready to accept the trophy.
It had been going on for about three hours now and Marlene as well as the Ravenclaw seeker had yet to catch the snitch and end the game.
The chasers for both houses were pretty tied up, James, of course, having the most points scored for the red and gold house.
On the other hand, Sirius was having the time of his life, whacking the bludger at any blur of blue that flew around him.
All of a sudden, Marlene looked like she was practically doing a free fall on top of her broom, arm outstretched and going so fast that the Ravenclaw seeker never even stood a chance of catching her. But it would be too late to try anyway, because her fingers wrapped around the golden snitch and ended the match before anyone could so much as blink.
Like a roaring chorus, all of your house mates around you broke into screams that no doubt were making everyone’s throats scratchy and raw, but that didn’t matter. You had won the house cup.
Your grin was so wide that it even rivaled Sirius and James’s, who had flown down into the stands to celebrate with everyone.
Every person was jumping up and down in pure excitement, shaking the stands in a way that no doubt could be concerning and lead it to fall over. But nobody could find it in themselves to care.
There's a house we can build, every room inside is filled with things from far away
“This place is bloody magnificent.” Sirius breathed out in awe, leaning back against a hammock that hung between two pillars.
“I can’t believe it took us so long to learn about it.” You added.
“This could be like our new hang out!” Peter chatted excitedly.
“Not to mention the fact that it doesn’t even show up on the map,” Remus said, “It’s incredible.”
“The Room of Requirement,” You mused, “I like the sound of it.”
“Do you think a lot of people know about it?” James asked excitedly, jumping up and down a little bit on a nearby couch.
Peter gasped, “Maybe we’re the first ones to discover it!” He practically squealed.
You laughed, leaning back in your own hammock across from Sirius’s, “I think I could get used to this.”
Special things I compile, each one there to make you smile on a rainy day
“Hey, guys,” You smiled weakly as you glanced up at them, “How’s it going?”
James and Sirius grinned widely at you, coming to a stop in front of the couch you were sitting at and dumping arms full of cookie bags onto the cushions to your sides.
“What the-“ Your eyes widened as you stared at the treats, “What are you guys doing?”
James shrugged, plopping down beside you and offering you a bag while taking one for himself, “You weren’t having that great of a day, so we decided to try and make you feel better.”
“And what better way to do that then bring up some junk food for us all to share.” Sirius added.
Your smile turned genuine this time, “You… you guys didn’t have to do that.”
“We wanted to,” James shrugged as if it was nothing.
“And besides,” The other boy wore a playful grin, “It’s an excuse to eat cookies.”
They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
“You’re insane, James Potter.” You crossed your arms over your chest, “I hope you know that.”
He threw you a grin, “Insane? Or just a hopeless romantic?” He asked.
“Insane.” You confirmed, letting loose a sigh when you realized he had already diverted his attention to where Lily Evans sat across the library, reading out of a large book.
“Look at her,” He sighed dreamily, “She’s perfect.”
You bit back an amused smirk, “Come on, Prongs, just go talk to her. Give her the flowers.”
James’s face immediately dropped, “Wait-uh-no… maybe- maybe this was a bad idea after all.”
“Hey,” You gently scolded, “It was my idea, remember? I thought of it to try and help you to finally get you to shut up about it?”
The black haired boy gulped and looked down at the bouquet of beautiful wild flowers he had picked specially for her- with your guidance, of course.
“Deep breaths, Prongsie.” You reminded him, placing a calming hand on his shoulder and offering him a reassuring smile, “You got this.”
He attempted his best grin, “I got this.” He repeated somewhat shakily.
You gave him a gentle shove forward and he made his way over to Lily, gently tapping her on the shoulder and flusteredly presenting the bouquet to her, all while you watched from afar with a proud smile resting upon your face.
They can say, they can say we've lost our minds
“To the Marauders,” You raised a glass.
“Here, here!” The four boys echoed back, clinking all your glasses together before taking sips out of their own.
You smiled, sitting down at the table of Three Broomsticks with them, admiring the way they all chatted and laughed amongst one another.
You couldn’t be more happy that there weren’t any empty carts that first day of Hogwarts on the Express.

Destiné à Être: A Remus Lupin Story
Chapter 15: Good Times are Changing
(Warnings: Smoking, drinking, language, sexual themes. 18+ only)
Word Count: 3.7K
Redamancy: (n.) The act of loving the one who loves you; a love returned in full
The next morning in the early sunlight, Remus wakes up under the comfort of warm covers. Brigitte's arm is still draped across him, and he feels an unfamiliar sense of peace that he could bask in forever.
Remus admires Brigitte's sleeping face; eyelashes fluttering, freckles speckled across her little scooped nose, and heart-shaped lips that graced his skin. He wants to remember every inch of her; to have every inch of her, always, even if it's just by memory.
Remus glances up to the movement in his peripheral vision— the blooming clematis vines dangling from the ceiling. He's beginning to think it's not coincidental that her magic fluctuates when the two of them are having a special moment. He sinks back down into his pillow and gently sprinkles Bri's freckles with kisses, making the sleeping beauty groan and stir awake.
"Good morning, Darling", Remus whispers lowly. She burrows her face in the crevice between his chest and the mattress, hiding from the morning sunlight. His heart warms at the reaction, 'she's definitely not a morning person', he makes the mental note. He kisses her shoulder and rubs her back, tickling her sides until she emerges.
"You're lucky I like you so much and the way you call me 'darling', Loopeen", Brigitte grumbles his name dramatically as she rubs her eyes. Remus snorts and let's out a raspy laugh.
She whimpers and pulls the blanket to her chin, "You wake me up from my peaceful sleep and now you laugh at me!".
He rubs the tip of their noses together, "I'm not laughing at you, it's just... the way you say my name. It's goddamn adorable", he tells her lovingly.
She scrunches her face and blushes, "What do you mean? Looopan. Lu-peen? Lu-pehnnnn. Loopen! It's my French tongue, I can't do the stupid mouth shapes!", she pouts.
Remus' chest shakes as he laughs hysterically at her preciously failed attempts. "I love it. You can pronounce my name however you want... but your 'mouth shapes' and French tongue are perfect, trust me", he smiles at her suggestively.
She looks up at him through her thick lashes, "Yeah?".
He snickers through his nose, "Oh, Darling... hey, d'you know you did it again? Your magic...", he whispers and points to the ceiling.
"Oops. It can be receptive if my emotions are really high ... so it's your fault now, really", Brigitte admits bashfully. Overcome with desire and love, Remus smashes their lips together and pulls Brigitte's body close, allowing not a sliver of space between them.
Eventually she pushes him onto his back and climbs on top of his radiating body. She crawls down, kissing his scars and the pink scratch marks she created the night before.
In the morning light she can see a dashed, gnarled pink scar in an odd crescent shape on the side of his ribs. Contrasting from the claw marks on his body, she recognizes it immediately.
The bite mark that changed his life forever, what causes his immense pain every month, and the reason he first rejected her. Brigitte leans down, just barely pressing her lips to the rough skin. She grazes her fingers over the slight ridges and looks into his eye.
Remus takes a deep breath and pulls her back up the bed, having her lie back down while he tells her how it happened. "It's my first memory. I can't really remember anything before then. Perhaps my fourth birthday party a few months prior? I didn't get to celebrate for a while after it happened and I remember my Mum giving me a cake covered in candles ... Anyways, my Dad had confronted Fenrir Greyback, he's a werewolf under Voldemort's command now... There were some attacks and Dad said that werewolves 'deserve nothing less than death', so Greyback decided to prove a point with me. He made sure to be near our house during the full moon".
"Remus ... I'm so sorry". Brigitte has no idea what to think. She's heard plenty of horror stories of people recounting the moment they were infected with lycanthropy— her oldest brother's story isn't all that different. But it hearing it from Remus and the pain in his voice all these years later is one of the saddest things Brigitte has witnessed. She can't imagine the guilt Remus and his father both carry because of that.
"Don't be, Love. You're trying to help... One of the only people doing so", he adds grimly.
"I wish that I could take the pain away from you, Lunaire", Brigitte says with her face in the crook of his neck.
"Believe me, darling, you do. I... If I may confess, I've thought about you during these last full moons, and in those moments before I transform, I almost forget about the pain. And being in your presence makes it all okay now", he confesses
while stroking her messy bed head. Her eyes twinkle at his vulnerability, "Really?! I think it's obvious you have the same affect on me. When I had that trap stuck on my leg, I panicked. I did... but, then I felt you. Your scars and familiar scent- a foresty chocolate smell- I didn't feel so scared or lost anymore ... You make me feel so safe. I know I'm safe with you", she reveals.
"I will always keep you safe, Britt".
"And I want to keep you safe, Remus".
He brushes the frizzy hair from her face. " Y'know, this could be the best morning of my life. Forget the werewolf talk, but waking up next to you, I'm not sure this isn't still a dream".
To have such intense feelings reciprocated isn't the reality Remus is prepared for. Brigitte climbs back onto his firm chest and wiggles down, sucking on the faint V muscles leading to his groin like an arrow. Propped up on her hands and knees, she holds herself above his muscular thighs, and proceeds to show Remus exactly what her French tongue can do.
⋆。˚☽˚。⋆
The morning in bed passes by too quickly. The only motivation to rejoin the outside world is when their hunger gets too strong to ignore. Again, Brigitte's stomach growls like a monster.
"C'mon, let's get you fed", Remus teases, throwing the sheets off their bodies.
"Ah! That's cold!". Brigitte hugs her naked form. Remus gazes down at her. It's the first time he's taken a good look at her body all morning and his eyes widen at her figure covered in love bites.
"Merlin! Darling, I'm so sorry, I didn't hurt you did I? I guess I got carried away. Your neck.... and chest...", he trails off.
Brigitte looks down, confused. "Oh! I didn't even realize!", she hops out the bed and over to the full length mirror. "And no you didn't hurt me, I actually quite like having your marks on me, Loopen", she says seductively while looking at him through the mirror and stroking the bruises on her exposed chest.
"I- I should go before we end back up in bed", he laughs nervously. "Not that I mind, but we've been in here almost twelve hours ... and Sirius is probably waiting for us".
Remus kisses her quickly but passionately and runs to his room, wearing just his underpants and hoping to be unseen. He rushes to shut his door upon hearing the faint mumbles of Kreacher on the stairs and puts on a unusually casual outfit– warm corduroys and an old Abbey Road t-shirt underneath a maroon jumper.
He enters the kitchen with his untamed mousy locks and a stretched out smile, excited to make breakfast for himself and his lover.
No surprise, Remus finds his raven-haired friend already settled down at the table reading The Daily Prophet (his face front and center on the front page) and drinking coffee.
"Sirius! Morning. You're up early...", Remus tries to say casually as he makes his way to the coffee pot.
Sirius peaks over the tabloid, "More like 'afternoon', Moons ... sounds like you were up late last night. Date go well, I assume? I thought I heard giggling from someone's sleeping quarters, and noticed your bedroom door open and bed empty on my way down earlier", he lowers the paper to reveal an evil grin.
Remus looks up from the coffee mug and at his smug friend, his cheeks slightly pink. He opens his mouth to weakly respond but luckily isn't quick enough.
"Tsk tsk... Ya know, I'm impressed your hearing works so well in your matured years, Sirius, but I suppose you being half mutt and all...", Brigitte quips.
She enters the room wearing a long, black floral skirt that flows behind her, with creamy cashmere socks peeping out the bottom hem; and tucked into the skirt is a tight dark turtle-neck that hides any evidence that Remus spent half the night sucking on her skin.
The men ogle at the effortlessly chic witch as she glides to Remus.
"I'm sorry, did you just call me old?! Because I am most certainly not and my hearing isn't the only thing working perfectly well, honey. I can promise you that!", Sirius rambles as he fluffs the paper back open.
"Alright, Pad, we'll take your word for it", Remus deadpans. He and Brigitte look at the flustered man, trying to conceal their giggles.
"Aw look, Lunaire, he's so easily ruffled ... Don't dish what you can't take, babe", she jokes while pouring coffee. Sirius huffs into the newspaper that is held so high his entire upper body is shielded from the couple.
Remus drapes his arm across Brigitte, their height difference allowing him to easily tuck her under his shoulder– it's a comforting touch.
"Can I make you breakfast? Anything you'd like", he whispers joyfully, his breath tickling her neck. He wants nothing more than to please Brigitte; to spoil her after weeks of avoidance.
She nods eagerly, almost childlike at the offer, "Let's cook together, and the muggle way! How about pancakes?", she looks up at Remus with dewy eyes that he'll never be able to say no to.
"Pancakes sound wonderful, Darling". He pecks her lips.
"I'm going to be sick...", Sirius mumbles from behind his paper partition.
"Not bragging about that good hearing now, are you?! Would you like some pancakes too, Love?", Brigitte offers the melodramatic man.
He responds with a whimpered "yes please".
Humming along to an old song, Brigitte makes the batter while Remus cuts up fresh fruit and sets the table. Sirius throws the paper aside, smelling the impending meal. He supervises.
Brigitte takes her wand from her calf holster and guides the meal over to the table, then takes three champagne flutes from the hutch. She joins the men at the table, pouring champagne and orange juice.
"Since it's noon this is technically brunch, which means we can have mimosas!", she cheers, "not that I need an excuse to drink, I'm French!".
"I knew I always liked you. Hold onto this one, Moony!", Sirius grins as he lifts the drink. Remus looks down at Britt and squeezes leg under the table.
'I'm never letting her go', he thinks.
After distributing the sliced strawberries and bananas to their pancakes, they bring their glasses together to toast.
"A toast!", Brigitte says raising her glass. "As Charles Bukowski once said: Alcohol is probably one of the greatest things to arrive upon the earth... alongside of me!".
"Here! Here!"-
"Couldn't have said it better myself!".
They dig in, slicing up the fluffy round cakes that have soaked up the warm maple syrup like a sponge. The first bites are eaten simultaneously, followed by echoing "yummmmmm's".
"Remember the Sunday dinners?", Sirius asks Remus reminiscently as he reaches for the spiked oranges juice.
"We always had breakfast because James loved Lily's eggs and toast", Remus adds with a nostalgic smile.
"I loved going to their house, getting to put little Harry to sleep", Sirius says proudly.
"Plus you weren't ever actually awake at breakfast time ... not much has changed", Remus jokes under his breath. Brigitte listens with a smile on contently as the two old friends go back to their happy memories.
"Who cares! Eggs and pancakes taste amazing at any time. Especially after a night of partying ... or whatever you two were doing last night". Sirius smiles shamelessly.
"And this morning", Brigitte adds cheekily. Remus blushes and almost chokes on his pancake.
"Nice guys, real nice ... Y'know Brigitte, I have a very fond memory of Moony and breakfast food. After a very fateful night of drinking ...".
"Sirius no-", Remus interrupts.
"Go on, Siri", Brigitte prompts.
"It was fifth year. Moony had never had a drink, and in hindsight I should have eased him into it. Anyway, James and I encouraged him to try some fire whiskey–"
"Encouraged? More like peer pressured until I caved", Remus interrupts.
"As I was saying, one shot turned into two, turned into five. Before we know it, the bloke's using an empty bottle as a microphone as he serenades the room with a performance of 'Bohemian Rhapsody'", Sirius cackles. Brigitte rubs Remus' shoulder endearingly, holding back her laugh.
"I don't remember anything after that", he argues.
"I do! He howled himself to sleep after James and I tucked him into bed. Then we snuck down to the kitchens and brought up pancakes and sausages, so we'd have something to soak up the alcohol in the morning".
"Nothing worse than waking up with that hangover, but it was shortly cured by that small feast. The house elves charmed the food to stay warm, but it's still nothing compared to these", Remus compliments, bringing the last of his pancakes to his lips.
"You're just saying that", Brigitte bashfully pushes his arm.
"Moony would never lie to you", Sirius bats his lashes. Brigitte sticks her tongue out at the man before returning her attention to Remus, who shrugs in agreement.
"He's not wrong", he chuckles, leaning over to kiss her cheek before sipping his mimosa. Brigitte treasures this moment.
She and Remus have fallen so naturally into this new dynamic, and she can't deny how much she enjoys Sirius' company. Especially when he and Remus are making each other laugh about memories from the younger days.
"You cooked, let me clean up", Sirius offers, waving his wand and stacking the sticky dishes in the sink. "Oí! Kreacher!".
The shriveled house elf emerges from his makeshift home past the pantry, a soured look in his face as he gives the world's smallest bow to his master. "Filthy vermin ... How may I assist the rotten heir of the Noble House of Bla–"
"Clean the dishes in the sink. With soap and clean water. Then put them back up in the hutch where they belong, and don't break anything. Don't touch any food, just make the dishes in the sink clean and put away", Sirius instructs firmly, ensuring Kreacher doesn't do anything destructive.
"Yes, master", he bows before snapping his fingers, the dishes sudsing up with bubbles at his command.
"And don't insult these two while you're out here!", Sirius adds.
"How generous, Sirius. This does not count as you doing the dishes", Brigitte comments with a raised brow. "Cleaning spells aren't that difficult to learn. I learned from Molly after one demonstration".
"What's that saying? Can't teach an old dog new tricks? Well, I'm going to go take a nap before the champagne wears off. Thanks again, you two". He looks between Remus and Brigitte, grinning before disappearing into the dark hallway.
"Did he just call himself old?", Brigitte asks.
"Come. Let's warm up in the drawing room, eh?".
That's where they spend the rest of the day. Brigitte effortlessly ignites a roaring fire, and Remus makes himself comfortable on the velvet couch. A stack of paperwork rests on his lap, presumably containing Order information.
Brigitte gravitates to the piano. She sits on the dusty bench and puts her hands on the keys, her finger's muscles memories playing scales flawlessly.
"You just sit over there and read. Don't mind me, please", she says embarrassed, opening up the practice book on the music rack. Remus glazes over the pages in front of him and taps his foot to the tempo of Brigitte flawlessly playing Rêverie by Claude Debussy. He leans his head back and lets the sound wash over him.
"Beautiful, darling", he whispers. He sets aside the monotonous reports and picks up a new book, allowing them to have this uninterrupted afternoon before he returns to his Order assignments ...
Remus leaves Brigitte and Sirius to entertain themselves for the night while he's guarding the Department of Mysteries. They wait around the house; waiting for Remus to come back, hopefully with some kind of update that they're closer to stopping Voldemort.
So, Brigitte does all she can do in the meantime-- read and brainstorm revisions to the anti-werewolf legislation in hopes of making progress there.
"I can't believe this déchets is the law", Brigitte says bitterly, while Sirius cleans Buckbeak's room. "That Umbridge woman is pure scum, it breaks my heart to think of Remus. She has his old job and is also the reason he can't find a new one. How fucked up is that?", she scoffs, leaning against Buckbeak's feathered torso. The hippogriff lovingly nudges her arm before resting his head on the floor.
"I know. I think he would've been bloody great had he been given the chance; the kids say he's the best DADA professor they've had ... He'll really appreciate you writing up amendments, whether or not the Ministry acknowledges them", Sirius attempts to comfort her. Handling women's emotions has never been his strong suit.
She looks over and smiles appreciatively, "They'll acknowledge it if it's the last thing I do. This disgusts me. They can take away your job, home, and children all because of a violent attack you had no choice in".
"Just look out for yourself, Love. The Ministry of Magic doesn't take kindly to those who try to defy them".
"So I've noticed. I'll do what I have to do. Like slap that Umbridge woman in the face with my scorching hot hand. I can do more than conjure up fire. I am fire", Brigitte threatens.
"What's life without a little risk, eh? I don't think you can get riskier than that", Sirius chortles.
"I don't care what it takes. I won't give up on this. On you or Remus. The Ministry can't continue this way forever". Brigitte brackets an entire paragraph and writes tiny notes in the paper's margins. "Want to supervise while I practice my magic after I finish this? I should be able to do it safely inside. I'll keep the fire to a minimum".
So Sirius sits on the piano, at a safe distance as Brigitte sets an array of candle sticks and empty glasses on the long coffee table.
"I can't practice volume in here, but I can work on precision. That'll be more important if I have to use it on a target in public", Brigitte explains. She sits on the floor on the other side of the room and stares intently. The glasses fill with water, candle wicks flicker on and off repeatedly, and the water freezes in some of the cups. Ivy vines snake up the table legs and wrap around the lit candles, picking them up, and dipping the flames into a glass of water.
"Wow... It's not aggressive magic, but you know how to use it to your advantage", Sirius observes.
"We shall we", she chirps. If Remus can make Brigitte's magic emit beautiful delicate flowers, there's no telling what see could do when fighting a Death Eater.
"My ivy will for sure throw them off. All I need is holly and we are ready for the holidays!", she jokes.
"That's right, Christmas is barely a month away! I'll insist the Weasley's stay again. Don't you think Harry will like that? I never dreamed of celebrating with him ever again, Remus too ... and you'll be here to decorate the house!", Sirius cheers, getting excited for the full house. He never thought he'd find delight in this house, loving energy filling the space which had always been nothing but joyless.
⋆。˚☽˚。⋆
After hours of practice, a bit of dueling, and eating leftovers, Pink Floyd's soft instrumentals lull Sirius to sleep on the worn out rug. Brigitte tucks a pillow under his head and makes herself comfortable by the fireplace, using it to light her sketchbook.
"What are you doing still up?", a quiet whisper comes from the darkness of the stairway. Remus emerges, finally back from watching the Department of Mysteries. Brigitte tosses her drawing to the side and meets the lycanthrope half way.
"Tiredness hasn't found me yet", she shrugs innocently, though the yawn she holds back would beg to differ.
"You don't have to wait up for me", Remus says while snaking his arms around Brigitte's waist. "Sleep deprivation is not good for you. Won't be safe once you get the all clear to resume your work for the Order".
"If I could help with the night guarding, staying up late would no be a problem". Remus sucks in a breath through his teeth.
"Sorry, Darling, don't think you're convincing Moody of that one quite yet".
"Yeah, Moody's the concerned one", Brigitte eyes him suspiciously. "How were things out there? Are you hungry?".
"Tonight was the same as all the other nights. The only people I saw was Moody and Gus. I told them you've recovered ... and I'm not hungry, just want to sleep". Remus softly rubs Brigitte's arms to relax her.
"Cuddle in my bed? I'm already getting cold, not being so close to the fire", she persuades him, stepping closer. Remus smirks, wrapping his arm around her shoulder.
"I can think of nothing more that I'd like to do right now".

i hear searching for fluff. i raise you cat animagus reader and the animal politics that come with being a cat. oh that’s a glass of water you’ve placed on the counter? what a perfect place for my paw to go. they’re a total goodie two shoes but can never stop themselves from swatting at and generally terrorizing sirius, dog form or not. i’ve seen so many videos of woodland animals like stags befriending cats or stealing their food and everyone just being like “wdym i didn’t know they could do that”. reader starts slow blinking at people without realizing. i could go on for forever i would love to see shenanigans and hijinks
beautiful thoughts, i enjoyed all of them. i let them inspire me into a drabble situation of cat!reader terrorising sirius with reg (and rem) on her side. this is just pure chaos and silliness, thank you for the opportunity lovie<3
Words: 2.4k
Warnings: not proofread, fem!reader, no use of y/n but your cat form is called "whiskers", james and sirius pranked you mildly, you get revenge as a cat, you are only in cat form throughout this, sibling squabbles, super minor injuries (you put your claws in sirius), platonic physical affection, general chaos and fluff
Note: this is technically in the same universe as my other two (first, second) cat!animagus!reader fics with regulus, but can be read alone. it is more of a platonic!sirius x reader fic though, it focusses on the interactions between them + reg, rem and james
Sirius had been made aware by many a parent, professor and otherwise nosey adult, that actions had consequences. Which was all fine and dandy with him, the consequences were often the sole inspiration for his actions.
This, however. This, they did not warn him about.
“Ow, ow, ow!” he hissed, trying to shake the feline creature off his shoulder.
Just a few seconds ago, she had been innocently peering down on his textbook, front paws resting on his shoulders as she stood on the top of the sofa he was reclining against. That didn’t last long though, as her claws came out and dug in through the fine material of his shirt, seeking the pain and destruction this evil creature seemed to live off of.
Unaffected by his shaking, she elegantly climbed down his arm – claws still out and still using him as leverage – to plop onto the table before them with a soft prrt!
“Remus, your friend is hurting me,” Sirius sneered at his boyfriend who was sat in a grandfather chair beside him, flipping through a newspaper Sirius was quite certain was out of date.
The other boy hummed noncommittally. “Does she have reason to?” he asked without looking up from the paper.
“No!” Sirius exclaimed at the same time as Regulus said, “absolutely.”
He shot his brother a glare on the other side of the sofa. He was reading through a novel in pristine condition, only looking up to glance fondly at the menace currently parading around the coffee table. Sirius was growing miffed that none of his hangout companions were sparing him any attention.
“I haven’t done anything, and if I had the minx should be over it by now.” Sirius did his best to seem authoritative, but he had a tough crowd.
You hissed at him from where you were standing on the table. Regulus looked up at that with mirth swimming in his eyes despite his impassive facial expression.
“She seems to disagree, Pads,” Remus said nonchalantly. “She’s also been running around as Whiskers for the past few hours, which she only does when she is either really pleased and really upset.”
“And she’s not pleased,” Regulus added unhelpfully.
Sirius muttered something under his breath that amounted to “I wouldn’t be pleased either, if I had to be in a relationship with such a grump” to which he received a throw pillow to the face, another hiss and an admonishing “Pads”.
"It was just a little prank," Sirius defended himself. "It's quite literally what we do." He didn't feel the need to go into the specifics; this was a dog he wanted to bury yesterday. Or, well, cat.
"To no one's enjoyment but your own, I'm sure," Regulus huffed. "If she's bothered by it, that's entirely her right."
Sirius looked to Remus for some backing up, and when he found none, he let out another groan, collapsing further into the sofa in his evident despair.
He would have happily stayed there, bitching and moaning as he pleased, had it not been for the suspicious sounds coming from the coffee table.
There, he found that you had not looked away from him and were sitting disturbingly close to the little homework station he had sat up earlier to then promptly ignore – an open textbook, half-written essay, quill and unscrewed inkpot. The look in your eyes was one you had picked up from Remus in your early days together, full of mischief and tomfoolery.
“Don’t you even dare–” Sirius managed to get out as he sat up in his seat and pointed a chiding finger at you, but the damage was done.
With what almost sounded like cat laughter – something most unknowing students would brush off because why would a cat laugh but Sirius knew all too well must be your joy at his expense – you knocked over his inkpot. The pot was almost full and the ink fell right on top of his essay and textbook. He let out a half-screech as he moved forward to correct the damage, but you walked straight into the pool of ink, ensuring you were spreading it further around his essay and the feather of his quill.
Regulus let out an unrestrained bark of laughter as Sirius sank to the floor in front of you, blabbering anger, while Remus simply snorted as he shook his head, choosing not to get involved yet.
“You furry bastard!” Sirius called out as he picked up his parchment, trying to shake some of the excess ink off, only worsening its condition. “You absolute menace.”
Some of the ink he shook off got on your fur, adding to what was already coating your paws from dragging it around. You solved this in the only manner that made sense in cat-world – by launching yourself at Sirius, effectively doubling his screeches within the second.
“Oi! Oi!” Sirius kept calling as you hopped onto his chest, burying your claws into him so he couldn’t simply shake you off, ink smearing all over Sirius’ previously white shirt. The assault of a lifetime, if you asked him. “Azkaban! Azkaban for all of you!” he called when he saw Regulus doubling over with laughter on the opposite end of the sofa.
“Pads! What’s going on, mate?” James’ voice called as he came half-running over after spotting the commotion the second he entered the common room.
Sirius opened his mouth to reply, but upon James spotting the feline devil currently attempting to smear more of the ink across his being, he interrupted with a coo.
“Oh, hi there little Whiskers!” James greeted, bending down to pick you up by the neck. In that James-Potter-way he simply peeled you off of Sirius and held you out before him, just far enough that the ink wouldn’t get on him. “What’s got you in such a tizzy, huh?” he asked, poking at you with his free hand which earned him a petulant hiss.
“The bloody puma destroyed my essay and leaped at me,” Sirius huffed as he clambered back up, ignoring how he sounded like a first year telling on a classmate to McGonagall.
“I believe she is seeking revenge from that little stunt you two pulled earlier,” Remus drawled from his seat, sharing a look with Regulus who rolled his eyes. They knew.
“Which is fully within her right, I must add,” Regulus said, ever the devoted boyfriend. Bloody lucky you. “And she’s not a puma, you wanker, you’re just scared of cats.”
“Slander! ‘M not!” Sirius defended himself, but James ignored him, turning his attention to the cat wriggling in his grip.
“Did we upset you, little kitten?” James asked so friendly you almost wouldn’t catch the teasing in his tone. “So sorry. Next time we’ll hex your tie a different colour. Robe too, yeah?”
Upon receiving another hiss from you and a lunge of your paw, James outright giggled and petted the top of your head carefully, neutralising you if for but a moment.
“How come she’s forgiving you right away? I have had my property destroyed and was lightly maimed in her quest for revenge!” Sirius shook his head in disapproval, attempting to stare you down. It wasn't turning out to be fruitful.
“Sirius, I have a question for you.” Regulus didn’t continue until Sirius reluctantly met his gaze. “Did you know – and be honest with me now – that you’re a wizard?”
Before Sirius could give him a snarky response, Regulus had waved his wand casually over the ink pools on the table and stains on his clothes, cleaning both up effectively as if nothing had happened. Then he gave Sirius a smug smile that made him want to turn into Padfoot and lunge at him – which probably wasn’t a good idea given there were other people in the room.
“Imbécile grossier,” Sirius muttered under his breath as he kicked a leg out at Regulus, intended more for effect than harm.
He received a “connard stupide” in return as Regulus dodged any further assault by getting up and walking over to James, who was now fully petting the rabid killer, whispering something about “please forgive me, it was just too funny not to”. Traitor.
“Hey there, amour,” Regulus said as he picked you up out of James’ arms. “Are you regretting marrying into the family?”
You made a huffing sound, climbing out of his arms to settle along his shoulders, over his neck, were you could cuddle against him while still scowling at Sirius.
“You and me both, sister,” Remus mumbled half-heartedly. Sirius gasped at him with every theatrical bone in his body, earning him an eye roll and – at last – for Remus to abandon the paper to give him a quick smooch.
“I didn’t realise sister-in-laws were allowed to be as sibling-y as an actual sister,” James mused as he folded his arms to take in the scene before him.
“She’s not,” Sirius argued, extracting another eye roll from Remus who patted his thigh placatingly. “Cats are just evil.”
“You could always confront her as Pads, you know, level the playing field,” James suggested.
“Absolutely not.” Regulus turned around so his body was shielding the cat on his shoulders from the three boys. “Not that I doubt she would win against your clumsy self any day, but let’s not even go there.”
Sirius and James barked a laugh that was disturbingly similar while Remus shook his head. “Don’t worry Reg, the less time I can spend around kittens, the better,” Sirius said briskly, feeling emboldened by James’ presence.
You poked your head around Regulus’ neck at that, so that the two of you could share a look. It’s always peculiar for Sirius to see how much understanding seems to pass between you two, especially when in different forms altogether. It's not something he expected for his baby brother and he feels his heart warm at the display – which he promptly pushes down to focus on the war currently playing out in Gryffindor.
As if you two reached an agreement through just that look, you butted your head against Regulus’ cheek while he nodded. Carefully, he manoeuvred you into his arms and plopped you down on the armrest of Remus’ chair, and disappeared from sight to a secluded corner of the common room.
“What in Merlin’s name just happened?” Sirius mused out loud, exchanging bemused glances with James who plopped down beside him.
“Oh, I’m sure it was nothing good.” Remus smiled through his words as he freed one of his hands to scratch under your chin, causing you to purr and brush your feline body closer to his arm. Sirius would be remiss if he didn’t think the sight of pure love between you two wasn’t adorable, but to hells if he would admit it before you two reached a truce.
Your purring was interrupted as you let out a soft prrt! for seemingly no apparent reason, and reached up to give Remus’ cheek a soft cat kiss – that made the boy’s face crinkle into a smile – before jumping down onto the floor. There, Sirius saw the reason for your joy and felt his heart drop in his chest.
“Oh, hi, Shadow,” Remus greeted the black cat that made a beeline for you on the floor, brushing his body against yours with soft purrs. “Come to join in on your brother’s torment?”
“Absolutely not–” Sirius started, but before he could get up and out of his seat, both cats had jumped up onto his legs and made their way to his lap. “What are you guys doing? Get off?!”
James was giggling once more beside him and Sirius had half a mind to throw the cats at him and run away. Though, he was beginning to doubt whether he would be able to as he saw the determination in Regulus’ eyes.
“I believe they’re making you eat your words, love.” The smile in Remus’ voice was so evident that had he not been as handsome as he was, Sirius would have smacked him.
His arms were frozen at his sides, hands hovering in the air, unsure of where to go as he watched the two cats settle down in his lap in horror. Your bodies were horizontal with his and flush against each other’s, becoming liquid in the cuddle puddle you were currently creating.
Sirius tried hissing at you to no avail as Regulus only slapped him with his paw in response. He tried shifting slightly to push you off, but you buried your claws through the fabric of his trousers – Sirius would give Remus a run for his money as the scarred one of the group after you were finished with him. He tried looking to James and Remus for help, but neither boy were willing as they took far too much enjoyment in the show. Remus at least pretended not to as he “read”, but James was fully angled towards him to see the events unfold, shoulders shaking with mirth.
A sigh escaped Sirius as he accepted his fate. “I hate you lot,” he said decisively. “Each and every one of you.”
Regulus made a noise that sounded like it was in disagreement with his statement while Remus just hummed. James nodded his head as if to say “fair”.
You, however, picked your head up from where it was resting over Regulus’ and just stared at Sirius. Usually he felt like he could read you quite well in feline form, which he assumed was due to some skills of Padfoot’s transferring over, but right now you were impossible to understand. You held his gaze head on, almost as if you were studying him, but your breaths were coming so slowly you had to be calm, right? Though this forced proximity was clearly a form of punishment, you were growing comfortable. Was he forgiven?
His train of thought was interrupted as the staring competition you had for a few seconds was interrupted – by you blinking. Slowly. Keeping your gaze on him but fully closing your eyes intermittently.
A slow grin spread across Sirius’ face.
He didn’t know a lot about cats and he principally disliked them. But he did know what that meant.
“Yeah, yeah, princess,” he mumbled as his cheeks almost grew a bit red. “You too.”

Request from an anon: Can you do where all the characters are safe and happy after the war, but at the last second wolf!daughter moves their hand from their blood soaked gut? (this is pretty depressing lol sorry)
A/N: hey guys! Two blurbs back to back!! Productive era!!! This is some of my best writing I think. But it is sickingly sad so be advised.
Cotent warnings; implied stabbing, death, and blood.
You can send a request here.
Part two.
War is over.
You watch everyone, checking on their friends and tending to the wounded as what were once tears of sadness and grief give way to ones of pure relief. The Dark Lord is dead. For good this time.
Your dads are holding on to each other just a little tighter than normal. Even from where you’re slouched against the wall, you see them trembling. Perhaps they’re waiting to wake up from some fever dream, to a world where Sirius is still locked up and Remus is still struggling alone without him. You want to go and join their hug, but you don’t have it in you to even yell, let alone walk. You don’t mind though. Watching them come out of their shock and hug had the same effect.
You didn’t notice your eyes closing until the patter of several concerned-sounding feet startles them open. Your friends—and family are watching you, Sirius and Remus front and center. You try to give them a smile To reassure them of…something, but it’s too small to stick. They waste no time sitting on each side of you. You welcome it. It’s nice to have company.
“You’re alright darling?” Sirius speaks first, squeezing your hand. You relish in the fatherly gentleness of his touch. You get an odd feeling like you should savor it this time. When you don’t say anything Remus tries this time; a little more desperate. “What’s happened? Are you alright?” You see he’s trying desperately to hold it together but he’s slipping. The tremor in his voice gives him away. You want to tell him you’re fine and everything is okay, but it’s not up to you. Not even what your body does is up to you anymore, maybe that’s why your hand falls off your side to reveal what you’ve been trying to hide this whole time.
Blood is steadily seeping through your shirt, the stain getting bigger by the second. You’re not sure who did it. All you remember is fighting of deatheaters, holding your own pretty well until you felt something sharp pierce straight through you, then pull out again. When you turned around whoever did it had already run off, leaving a sickening cackle behind them. But even as you bled, you managed to clear out another three of them before they finished you off.
The wound startles your poor parents, but not into doing nothing. Remus rushes off to find something, anything to help. Sirius squeezes your hand tighter. “It’s fine sweetheart. W-We’re going to fix it alright?” His voice is now quiet and his body and stare unmoving. Like he’s scared you might fade away if he doesn’t keep watching. You manage a weak smile and tilt your head just enough to lean on his shoulder. “That’s alright papa. I’m just tired, it’ll wear off I’m sure.” Your eyes want to flutter closed but you force them open. You can’t rest yet, you’re not finished. “I think I might sleep now though. Once Harry turns up, tell him that…that I love him. And I’m proud.” Sirius is shaking, but he nods.
You think he’s going to say something to you, but you don’t stay awake long enough to hear.
