This is just a hypothesis, but…

What if Optimus had the best dad, but not the best mom?

Actually, not even the best, the WORST mom?

Orion pax was born between two cybertronians, the Sire: who was very happy to have a sparkling of his own, and promised to take care of him the best as he could. On the other hand, the Carrier: who wanted a fem, wasn’t happy at all, only feeling disgust towards the sparkling.

The Carrier would neglect Orion pax, berate him with hurtful names and in worst case putting their hands on him. Mean while, the Sire treated him with utmost kindness and so much love for him.

Carrier and Sire got into a fight, ended with a divorce with Orion pax in the hands of the Sire.

And because of the Sire, Orion was able to get into a high rank among the archives, meet Alpha Trion and Ratchet, and become a successful leader and Prime.

He learned how to be Kind, how to love and so much more from his Beloved Sire.

Orion pax, now Optimus Prime, swore on his spark, to treat anyone with kindness and so much love, just like his Sire raised him.

The plot is kind of messed up from the original, sorry about that 😅

Optimus is running towards Megatron, looking around while he does so. "Megatron!! Have you seen our little one? I can't find them anywhere!" Optimus paces around. Fretting and looking worried.

Megatron, in turn. Has the fakest supriced expression. "Oh? Well, I haven't seen any little one running around here. Have you checked the kitchen?"

"Yes!! I-" Then Optimus hears a giggle. One that suspiciously sounds like it's coming from behind Megatron. Optimus huffs in amusement. Relieved that their little one is safe, and now more than happy to play along with this little game of hide and seek. "Meeegaaatrooon..?"

"Yes, my dearest conjux?~" Megatron stares innocently at Optimus as another giggle is heard from behind the ex-warlord.

"Are you sure you don't know where our little one is?" Optimus asks again. A playful smile on his lips as he raises an optic ridge.

"Oh! Is my spark-bonded accusing me of being a liar? Optimus, I thought you knew me better than this! The nerve!" Megatron pretends to act offended. Huffing as he then turns around with his arms crossed to reveal that their sparkling was holding on to Megatron's back. Still giggling and now squealing at the fact that Optimus can now see them!

"Siiireeee!! You said you wouldn't let my carrier see me!!" The sparkling whined. Kicking their little feet on the back of Megatron's frame.

Megatron chuckled. "I don't remember making such a promise. I only remember a certain someone climbing up my back and wispering at me to hide them?"

Optimus sighed with a grin, shaking his helm, and went over to pick up their sparkling. "Megatron, you seemed to have had a little scraplet stuck to your back."

"Oh really? Thank you, Optimus. For removing it and avoiding a bigger problem. Now, shouldn't you go back to searching for our little one?"

"Huh?" The sparkling looked between their two creators, a bit confused.

"Yes, I think you're right. I wonder where our little one could have gone?" Optimus hummed. Pressing a kiss on Megatron's lips.

"Carrier!! It's me!! I'm here!!" The little one giggled, wiggling and trying to get Optimus's attention.

"Have you tried looking in the bath?" Megatron teasingly commented, knowing that it was a bath that their little sparkling was running away from. He hummed into the kiss and pressed one of his own to Optimus's forehead.

"Sire!! No!!!" The sparkling gasped, trying to wiggle free from Optimus's grip.

"You know what, I just came from there. But it would be a good idea to check again. I'll see you soon." The ex-Prime chuckled. Turning around with their sparkling, who was laughing and shouting a dramatic "noooooooooo!!" As Optimus now pretends to notice that the scraplet he was holding suddenly turned into their sparkling! A lecture ensues as they turn the corner.

Megatron watches his two most cherished walk off. He himself chuckles, walking to their kitchen to get some energon. Knowing he'd need it for when it became his turn to take care of their little one. How did Megatron get so lucky to have Optimus in his life? He will never know. All he knows is that, as he hears the laughs of both his conjux and sparkling, that he is glad things turned out this way.

I want (and still plan to) draw this and even write this so bad. i wanted to draw it this week but my job got in the way T-T but I'm also saving this so i can draw them because them all in their T-Shirts would be so funny.

I can just imagine drift and rodimus being so damn chummy and laughing, and then ratchet is moping on the side. not only because he was forced to wear a shirt that basically screamed he got fucked side-ways, on the counter, on the floor, on the wall, etc., my drift, but he is so grumpy too. he is so damn grumpy like he has an attitude, the sparklings are probably gonna come out with one.

Like they take a family picture, especially for the sparkling shower, and it's ridiculous. I mean, Rodimus and Drift have a good time. Ratchet is a mixture of tired and stressed because he has a million surgeries to conduct--tho Drift won't let him do that. He wants his conjunx to rest.

also trivia but my dratchet sparklings actually don't look like ratchet. none of them look like him, they all favor drift at different stages in his life. however, they do actually have healing abilities. like they are outliers and all their outlier ability is to heal, though one's is to take life away with her touch. she becomes a doctor however and is as good as ratchet. Also adkjfaj Ratchet is still a doctor at that time.

Drift and Ratchet in my aus never actually stop having children so i cannot cap it. Like yeah we know in LL Ratchet dies but I've explained how he's still alive in my aus even after that and guess what...they go right back to having children. Ratchet always carries because in my aus personally, Drift has trauma with carrying because of things that happened in his past. He actually got his forge tank/valve removed. Originally, Rathcet wouldn't have cared to sire or anything, like he expected that's how it would be with he and Drift but Drift is very serious about being a sire.

He can't afford to blow his cover and well he still wants this kid (and he can't imagine what'll happen if he leaves them), so he just. Runs because no matter what if he stayed there'd be questions

Makes me wonder tbh if Shockwave can change his disguise from "Longarm" to one unrecognizable to others, cuts his losses on that former disguise and tries to build himself up through the ranks through a different route (sure, it'll take time, especially since he has a bitlet he has to take care of alone now and tell as few people as possible about)

I don't know what's funnier:

One, some random bot/con overhearing locker room talk between humans, and get really curious enough to hassle the medbay for cosmetic frame change.

Two, the bots/cons found human porn and some mecha are getting into the shit to try it out.

Three, external reservoirs already exist in certain frame-types because I have a personal headcanon that Cassette-Carriers are funky as hell. (So yeah, Soundwave and Blaster have them. Que their sex (mis)adventures with other mecha. And yeah, their balls glow like a fucking glowstick.)

*Megatron throws Bumblebee across the floor. Bumblebee coughed trying to get up. Megatron kicks Bumblebee onto his side and pulls him up by the arm.*

Megatron: You won't talk, right? 

Bumblebee: Not a word to you or any deceptacon. I won't let you hurt them.

Megatron: Then let's make it official, shall we. Shockwave is the table ready?

Shockwave: Yes, Lord Megatron.

*Megatron drags Bumblebee making him stumble over his steps trying to keep up, over to the operating table by his arm.* 

Bumblebee: What are you planning?

Megatron: I think you know, tie the Autobot scout down.

*Megatron slams Bumblebee onto the table as Shockwave grabs his arm and ties it down. Bumblebee thrashes against Megatron's and Shockwave's hold on him. He wouldn't go down without a fight.*

Bumblebee: Let me go!

Shockwave: It's useless to struggle.

*Shockwave secures both of Bumblebee's legs as Megatron secures his left arm. Once Bumblebee is secured to the operating table Shockwave grabs his tools and brings them back over. Bumblebee's breath quickens at the sight of the sharp tools.*

Bumblebee: Stay away from me!

Quintessence: Rip out his voice box.

*Shockwave begins by opening Bumblebee's neck skin, Energon blood leaking down his neck onto the table. Shockwave quickly locates his voice box and begins to pull and tear the wires connected to it. It hurts, Bumblebee thrashes around in pain, consequently the cut opening becomes wider.* 

Bumblebee: No! Stop, stop it! Ow! Aagh! 

Quintessence: Ahahah. 

*More blue blood bleeds out 

Bumblebee: Aaagh! Noo- Aaaagh! *cough*

*It hurts, make it stop! It became harder to talk with each passing second. Robotic tentacles started to rap around his limbs.*

???: Bumblebee!

        Optimus Prime shook Bumblebee awake from his nightmare. Bumblebee opened his optics looking around frantically before putting his hands to his neck. His neck was no longer cut open, only a scar where the cut was made. Bumblebee sighed in relief leaning against Optimus who was rubbing his back in comfort.

       "Are you alright, Bumblebee?" Optimus' voice was filled with concern and worry, Bumblebee looked up at Optimus frowning. He wasn't okay, he was scared. Bumblebee shook his head, Optimus wrapped his strong large arms and held him tight to his chest, kissing his forehead.

       "I was back in that room, Optimus, but it had an operating table in it; and Megatron was there and so was…" Bumblebee choked on his words as he sobbed into Optimus' chest. All of his worst memories had come back to haunt him. 

        Optimus Prime wished that Bumblebee didn't have to go through that. Both this time and the time before, it was all because he was too late in saving Bumblebee. He was never there for Bumblebee when he needed him but when Optimus needed someone Bumblebee was always there. "I'm sorry Bumblebee. I truly am." Bumblebee sobbed harder into his chest.

       "I couldn't move, I was so scared." Bumblebee whimpered as Optimus pulled him into his lap, cuddling him. "It's okay now, you're safe. I won't let it happen again." Optimus Prime would keep this promise in his spark and mind. "Even if I have to kill." Bumblebee couldn't help but chuckle in between his cries. Optimus killing somebot for no reason was so funny to him.

       "Optimus, you're too soft for that." Optimus softly smiled at Bumblebee who had a small smile on his face. But Optimus couldn't deny the fact that he was right, he wouldn't kill somebot for no reason. Bumblebee slowly began to relax in Optimus Prime's arms. 

       Optimus looked over at the doorway hearing it opening, standing there was a little light blue sparkling. "Strongarm?" Bumblebee turned his head to see what Optimus was talking about. Strongarm walked over to the berth and tried to climb up. Bumblebee smiled softly and let go of Optimus and picked up his little creation, bringing her to his lap.

       "What's wrong, my strong little warrior." Optimus Prime put his arms around Bumblebee's shoulder as Bumblebee cuddled Strongarm. "I heard Sire shouting Carrier's name. I was scared something had happened." Strongarm cuddled Bumblebee back, she hoped that Bumblebee was okay. She traced Bumblebee's neck scar but quickly pulled away. 

       Strongarm looked back up at him and asked a question, "Can I fall asleep in here?" Both Bumblebee and Optimus Prime smiled at her. Optimus pushed some of her short white protoform hair out of her face as Bumblebee nodded. "Yeah you can." Having his creation and bondmate nearby always calmed him down. Giving him a sense of relief of safety and peace.

       Bumblebee put Strongarm in between him and Optimus and laid down next to her. Optimus pulled the covers over them before lying down with them. Before Bumblebee could fall fully to sleep he heard Optimus whisper, "I love you, Bumblebee." 

       There were no more nightmares while recharging.

bro you LITERALLY put one of my biggest issues with megastar into words. I didn't know what the issue was and why I got weirded out by a lot of content but this is it. Especially 'when it's the other way around it's a good thing' part. People either make sub starscream the worst thing possible or talk about it like it's the worst thing to ever happen to his character and then flip things around with him and make him dom/sire and then suddenly he's not weak anymore. I wish people would put in more effort into making carrier/sub Starscream a good thing rather than making it this shameful, taboo thing that he's ashamed of. I really don't mind how people ship Starscream but like you I've noticed a ton of weird vibes. People can do what they want but you honestly just explained my issue with a lot of it.

this isn't the case for everyone, but it's something i've seen a lot. i've seen people who will write fics with starscream carrying with megatron and it's the worst experience for him, but then the other way it's like supposed to be good or even to show that starscream is powerful, or isn't weak or whatever.

It's so hard to find fics, or aus, etc. that have starscream carrying that don't push this idea that it's something truamtic and it's even worse to find people who don't see it that way but in conjunction see carrier megatron as the only 'acceptable' and non traumatic/abusive forms of sparklings and mechpreg in megastar. I don't think people know how weird it is to act as if starscream carrying (or lbr even subbing) by default is a bad thing and that it is the worst thing in the world so the fix if is to flip things around.

and then it's also unfair to megatron to portray him like only one way as a sire. like i hate that so many people portray him as a brutish, harmful and abusive person when he's a sire, when in reality i just find him being a very soft, nervous and caring sire...like do y'all hate him that much?? Do you hate him that much that you just rely on those unfair tropes for him, same with starscream.

but then when it's the otherway around suddenly it's all good. all the abuse, hatred, etc., is all gone??

me wanting to design blitzbee sparklings bc its soo fun making fankids but also not wanting to because yall would go absolutely feral and never let me live it down, and not every relationship needs kids. if any ship of mine wouldn't have kids, i feel like it'd be blitzbee (not to complain if they did tho 👀)

bc see on one hand, they have a LOT to work through before they could ever even consider kids, both about themselves and their relationship. and they just have the vibes of a recently graduated college/uni kid and his older boyfriend trying to make it in the world. no time for kids and not everyone is suited to be a parent or even WANT to be a parent, and that's okay

Any title ideas guys? Ch.18 - Protocols activate

Chapter summary: Bumblebee's protocols activate. When I was writing this I was on Tumblr a lot for these things, and I ran across sire and carrier coding. I was intrigued and wanted to test them out.

notes: aka I pull a little bit of shit out of my ass along with various other wonderful people's ideas on carrier and sire protocols activating for the first time during emergence. However, as Sam is the Allspark, she decides to 'slow down' the pregnancy until the crew on *ship* aren't as physically damaged and resources taken back from Earth aren't thrown haphazardly in the halls to be sorted later.

It was a slow process but after an Earth month or two Bee was following just behind her following Ratchet's instructions with a lightly diluted medical grade of energon to the exact percentage. The two were a cuddlier couple, but Bee was taking it to a whole new level after Sam’s plating started to expand with the creation of the sparkling frames. (For the majority of the sparking the plating generally expands not in one particular place just in general.) It was sweet but it was also stifling at times.

The two were walking towards the improvised break room - a place for usual hangouts and the general energon dispenser - which was currently keyed with some medical-grade energon as everyone onboard needed it.

One of the male bots on the ship won’t take no for an answer from Sam - this bot dosen’t know about her being sparked and thinks it's highly inappropriate for her to be with such a low classed bot. Bee punches him, (as his sire protocols are activated and Sam was incredibly fed up with him.

Sam has to wrestle Bee into an open chair. Taking the time to literally sit in his lap crosswise while the other bots get the first out of the room. Everyone goes back to what they were doing. Bee calms down and refuses to meet Sam’s optics. Though he does wrap his arms around her shoulders and places a servo over her knee joints. The two sparklings on Sam’s frame have already been moved into the divot that Sam’s body created, with her legs thrown over one side of the chair and the other is lightly separating her wings from her body in a semi-comfortable manner. The chair was designed for grounders and this was one of the most comfortable positions to sit in. She settled her left servo over Bee’s servo which was resting in her knee joint after further settling the two sparklings, while the other went around his neck cables in a comfortable and familiar feeling.

“Wanna tell me what’s been happening, Bee? This isn’t the first person you’ve gone after or lost your temper towards.”

Bee kept his head facing away though tellingly his door wings were slightly lowering in shame and embarrassment.

As Bee continued to be silent and try to process or wallow in his embarrassment. Sam spent the time giving the two sparklings in her lap attention and making sure they weren’t fighting badly while thinking about possible reasons for their mood changes to Bee. Finally sending a comm to Ratchet about taking the time off for the few hours the rest of the day she was scheduled, but always on call for serious emergencies - more than acceptable with the hours off she was amassing. When he asked what was going on, being so last minute about breaks wasn’t like her.

:: Yea, Bee almost seriously fought *an annoying person who won’t take an answer of no*. I’m staying here to keep the peace and to get to the bottom of Bee’s unusual moodiness.::

There was a pause from Ratchet before he said:: It could be sire protocols:: He sent over a data pack for Sam to parse through regarding everything he has about sire protocols. With her unusually fast processor speed it would be easy for her to get through it in well under an hour.

Sam spared a good chunk of her unused processor to learn this new information.

Done processing the new information, she compares it to how Bee was acting recently. Out loud she looked at him asking “ Bee, did your sire protocols activate?”

[Bee’s sire protocols did indeed activate. He dosen’t know how to deal with himself. There is no one on board who can help him as no one experienced them personally before. If Sam was at all concerned enough to talk about her emergence she would have found only one other person had carried before. But Sam has absolutely no worries about the emergence.]

After asking that and Bee manually going through his coding he realises that yes, he is now having active Sire protocols. Though he didn’t need to answer as looking between Sam’s optics or at Ellie and *sparkling* remaining in their laps before turning away was enough of an answer for Sam. Without being able to stop herself she outright laughs burying her face for a moment against his frame before sobering and saying “Looks like you also need to visit Ratchet.”

Though at the thought of moving out of his very safe spot in his lap automatically and lightly tightened his arms. Feeling this, Sam gave a small vent from amusement “Don’t worry not moving right now.” leaning against Bee a little more fluttering her wings to comfortably rest over the armrest and conveniently stopping just above the floor.

The four of them remain there for another half hour to an hour while the first threat to Sam and the sparklings seemingly passed. The first instance was always the worst. However, for Sire coding whenever the carrier was in pain, in too much distress, or in trouble, they would come to alleviate the pain and discomfort as soon as possible.

When the two of them eventually made their way into the medbay Ratchet was waiting for them. Bee’s sire protocols were indeed activated. Upon confirmation, Ratchet burst out into laughter mentioning the unofficial betting pool they had and how many favours he now had in his back pocket due to Bee.

Instead, Bee’s newest assignment from Ironhide was as a bodyguard for Sam and the medbay. Only furthering Ratchet's laughter and humour to himself. But really on the entire ship, this was the best place for him to be so everyone and himself would be the most relaxed. With a literal bodyguard there the other inhabitants of the ship were going to pause before interacting in a negative manner with Sam. Which in turn would lower stress levels and be safer for the sparklings. That Samantha would be in the medbay or frantically enineering in the torture space turned science lab, or in the bridge quarters with Soundwave then those rooms would have a guard at or in the door.

However, having a carrier onboard does affect the other bots - wether they actively know it or not. They have the urge to satisfy her needs. When they can’t they do get irritated and more irritable thus increasing fights. It's only when Sam and Ratchet release that she is carrying do the rest of the crew carry around non-perishable little snacks to offer her, thus satisfying their coding.

- - - - - How this emergence will work I got grossed out and internally confused why aliens would follow a more human-esque way of labour. Then I came across a text post. That emergence is literally unique programming where the stomach area - where the gestation chamber is located and the sparkling (s) can literally slowly climb out, the creator/sire/carer/medical professional could reach in and extract them - preferred and much quicker and less painful for the carrier. This is painful though if caught early enough then the pain will greatly be reduced by a medical bot uploading and enforcing pain receptors down [For Sam as the Allspark this pain is actually less than getting her wing snapped when she first woke up. The Allspark was primus forged to create. As a benevolent God - and particularly favouring Sam for being willing to do this for his children and benign the one to kick the remaining species into their senses to stop the war in favour of peace and to ensure that Cybertronians don’t go extinct so he ensures that when fulfilling what he created her for the pain is greatly reduced when the spark connects to her core. Sam is basically a young goddess/minor goddess due to the connection she has with Primus as his first and only remaining active online child. (Which is different from being part of a species he made.)

Here are a few of my initial ideas which I was playing around with.

In a typical sparking and gestation situation, the sire would donate nanites via sex - the sparkling only are aware that their carrier and sire are happy and excited. This makes the sparkling happy and excited yes, this does affect the sex the adults are having bringing new highs just before the climax. But with this sparking Sam dosen’t need extra nanites for her gestation chamber, she is the Allspark and that's unnecessary, but she does decide to open a different filtration system. She is acutely aware these sparkings aren’t going to be solely hers, but a combination of everyone on board. As bots move they lose a very fine layer of dust (very comparable to dead skin cells. Just by moving together there is this fine layer that Sam can collect and make into nanites from that individual. Which is what she does.) However, this is impacted by how often Sam is vaguely in contact with the other bots and their personal rates of ‘dropping’ are. Ratchet and Bee are surprised when the sparklings start to emerge and they resemble Sam, Bee, Ratchet, Ironhide, Soundwave, and *ship* the most and in that order. Purely because during the pregnancy Sam was exposed to those bots the most often and for longer amounts of time. (Sam later says they get their combiner alt modes from *ship*’s side of the nanite situation and probably a little bit of Primus’ meddling..) Then Sam comes clean about the unique collecting system. Though they do have similar colourings and frames to those bots (it's a cool combination) all of them call Bee Sire and Sam Carrier or another form like it as Sam does prefer to be referred to as a variant of Mama.

However, as of posting, I've decided they just fuck off camera and there is nothing needing for anything close to 'biology' to give these new sparkling with a ridiculous amount of Aunt, Uncle, Grandparent etc relationships. (Sometimes my brain reverts to ideals closer to those held by the cult I was raised in. It's the programming they teach you from infanthood and I'm getting better at recognising when smaller slip-ups such as this happen.

reinventing the nuclear family model for space robots that turn into cars

so bored and sorry for no fics in years - i may not ever finish this one but i like working on fics where starscream and rodimus challenges dynamics set for them. Starscream in this au was with a mech who was sparked and carrying and starscream loved that mech and the sparklings, however that mech tried to force Starscream into the role of being a sire despite Starscream's trauma with it so he left, and having to leave the sparklings hurt him, and he has to see those sparklings every so often, but he eventually just feels resentment toward them.

Now, he's going through the same thing with Rodimus, or he thinks he will. This is Minimus' sparkling Roddy is carrying btw he and he attempts to lie to Starscream. Starscream doesn't want to leave but his traumatized by his last relationship, but it works out well because Rodimus doesn't try to force Starscream into any roles and when the sparkling is born they both end up raising them together.

In general i also think it makes sense that a larger mech is able to have larger sparklings or more (i typically tend towards more rather than larger because well the issue with Cybertronian chest to hips ratio)

Got exposed to people being weird abt tfa Bots and Cons. Anyway gonna talk sparklings in the Volt Au... I like drawing sparklings, and mostly base them off Beastwars and the Sari protoforms. There are different growth stages that sparklings can be imprinted on, such as the practically full grown ones used in cloning vs the lil thangs that resulted in ppl like Sari or Voltage.

Autobot and Decepticon values and culture are not inherent to any sparkling even after imprinting, they are learned. No bot is destined to a certain personality, they're shaped like human children. No matter how big or small.

And a funfact sparklings can imprint on any multitude of parents, and this does mean a youngbot with exposure to only one caretaker will physically become a clone, but more often this more often means a blend of features from a multitude of bots.

another angsty ficlet series i wanna get to writing is that during their time in the djd, kaon and tarn have an off and on relationship that both wanted to expand on after the war but obviously, they changed.

anyway, long story short, after tarn pops off kaon's head, nickle is able to fix him. kaon survives as does tarn in this ficlet but kaon, rightfully so, wants nothing to do with tarn. unfortunately for tarn, he ends up figuring out that due to previous events he is sparked, by kaon no doubt. attempting to turn a new leaf he goes to kaon and tells him - kaon ends up trying to kill tarn and is repulsed by him and the idea of a sparkling with tarn and denounces them both. tarn isn't upset, because he knows he did wrong and he just leaves.

i think this is something im gonna warp into my tarn and starscream aus where Starscream takes Tarn in after the trial. he just doesn't realize that tarn is carrying a sparkling. of course starscream takes her in .

Beware of Transformers misinformation, fans!

There are a lot of blogs out there who try to act like lore masters. They make charts of Cybertronian history and/or try to make long deep posts that reference Transformers lore. They seem complex and researched so people gobble it up and happily reblog . . . More often than not, I know they got facts wrong. It's painful to see everyone eagerly spreading it like the gospel! Especially when it is Transformers Prime lore. I own the books, I have read them many times, I have carefully summarized them in videos. Some people just skim a few wiki pages then feel knowledgeable. Gah! Tips for everyone else:

~Don't assume common trends like in fanfiction are canon. Concepts like "femme" and "mech" and "spike" and "valve" and "sire" and "carrier" are fandom creations. Traits given to certain kinds of Cybertronians like Seekers (example: Seekers are more sensitive) are also fandom creations. Characters may also be adopted by the public and re-displayed with character traits not truly found in their original source material.

~Don't assume the rules of one Transformers series applies to another.

~Don't assume charts created by fans are fully accurate. For example, a chart of Cybertronian lengths of time. Units of time are unclear and have different meanings in different Transformers universes. There is no one truth. Also, charts of Cybertronian Ages, from what I have seen, have been wrong. For example, excluding the Age of Origins.

~Do not use the fandom wiki for any research. Use TFwiki, which is accurate and links to sources!

I will always try to be a very reliable source of Aligned Continuity lore. I will crack open the books and point to whatever you need. Please be more critical and double check info before reblogging and liking people's lore posts, including mine.
