Silly drabble, 600~ words.
Tumblr media
Sebastian smoothed the sheet of parchment over the desk and reviewed his work with a small nod of satisfaction. Curfew was near, and the library was deathly silent save for the near-constant stream of dark mutterings coming from the girl beside him. Aurélie, for all her beauty, humour, and charm, was a force to be reckoned with when she was in a bad mood, and after an entire day of being grumbled, glared and snapped at, Sebastian was quite ready to put a stop to it.
'Right,' he said decisively, squinting at his untidy scrawl. 'Are you ready?'
'No.'
'First question —'
'I still don't understand how this is going to help!'
Not for the first time in his life, Sebastian thanked whatever higher power had given him a twin sister and thus a lifetime of experience dealing with the wildly shifting moods of girls: Anne was certainly a  formidable foe when she was upset, but even the volatile temper of a Sallow paled in comparison to that of a French girl when she woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
Still, vast experience notwithstanding, he exhaled a deep, slow breath before calmly explaining, for the third time in a row, ‘It's called practising gratitude. It's supposed to help you shift your mood so you feel better.'
'Fine,' Aurélie pouted, slumping lower in her chair. 'Ask the stupid questions.'
‘First,’ he began, referring to the list of prompts he'd compiled. 'List five things you love about yourself.'
'Five?' she shrieked, bolting upright as if he'd just assigned her a twelve inch essay on the history of flobberworms. 'Pass. Next.'
'We'll come back to that one, then, shall we?' he said through his teeth. 'Share four things you're excited about.'
'Going to bed,' she muttered.
Sebastian scribbled it down. 'And?'
'That's it.'
Unwilling to concede defeat until he at least drew out a single, tiny, begrudging smile from her, he went on. 'Next question. Three people you love deeply.'
'Shoes.'
'Shoes are not people, Aura.'
'Shoes are a girl's best friend.'
'That's diamonds!'
'Those, too. Write that down.'
'Alright.' With mounting frustration, he added "shoes" and "diamonds" to the list of people she loved. 'Who else? Real people, Aura.'
'Celeste,' she offered, leaning forward to watch him write her best friend's name on the list.
'And? Come on, you might play the part of World’s Most Aloof Ravenclaw, but I know for a fact you love more than just one person…'
'Hmm, Poppy. And Esme! And Jean, and Siobhan. And Lory, Cordelia, Tessa, Rosalie, Gibby, Allegra. Ummm...' She paused to catch her breath while Sebastian's quill flew across the parchment, struggling to keep up. 'Johanna, Calypso, Matty, Eleanor, Ariane, Winter, Alyn. Oh, and Artemis, and Lydia! And Violet and Pearl, and Eloise, both of them —'
When finally she found herself out of names, Sebastian reviewed the long list with a bemused expression. ‘All these friends and you can't think of a single nice thing to say about yourself. Anyway —’ He shook his head and turned to look at her, ‘— you're missing someone.'
'Oh?' she frowned, critically eyeing the list of names. ‘No, I don't think so.’
'Mhm. A certain charming, good-looking, highly intelligent, freckled someone.'
'Oh!' She smacked her palm to her forehead. 'You're right! Garreth Weasley.'
Sebastian nearly choked on his tongue. 'I'm not writing Garreth fucking Weasley under "people you love deeply"', he refused, throwing his quill down.
'Oh, but he's so friendly.'
‘No,’ he said flatly.
‘Alright, alright, grum-py. How about this?’ With an impish grin, she picked up his quill and, in a long, elegant script, wrote “Sebastian Sallow” across the top of the parchment.
Sebastian narrowed his eyes. ‘You couldn't have put me first?’ he grumbled.
‘I could've,’ she replied, smiling for the first time that day. ‘But it's much more fun making you jealous.’

favorite ocs/mcs in the hl fandom?
Thank you for this ask anon!! I have so many MCs I could fawn over in fifteen page essays, but here are the ones off the top of my head in no particular order. This is a long list so prepare yourself.
@ladyofsappho’s Nettie Mulloy, who is such a strong, well written character with a super intriguing backstory and story, which you can read in the creators *AMAZING* fic the Nettie Chronicles, one of my favorite fics. Not to mention her swoon worthy relationship with her girlfriend, Mia Boyensberry, who I also love dearly. She is a witty, sweet, and caring witch with a story just as epic as Nettie’s. And of course, there’s Carlotta Ellerbee, who may be Nettie and Mias enemy but has my heart in A CHOKEHOLD. She is fashionable, badass, gorgeous, and not only has stolen my heart but Calypsos as well 💕
@silvyadrakkons Lyssa Edwards , who is SO AWESOME! She may be short but she is badass, hilarious, gorgeous, caring, and one of calypsos best friends 🥹💕💕 she is an amazing MC and her pal Morgan the chicken is just as incredible. Not to mention Calypso will forever be fighting with Sebastian for Lyssas heart 😂💕
@ethniees Inger Eve Nilsdott, another absouletly *INCREDIBLE* MC who, despite the creators words, I have NOT. drawn. ENOUGH. Badass, hilarious, iconic, I am so happy to call her one of calypsos best friends. Not to mention her relationship with Garreth is SO cute, and I am so excited to read more writing about them!!
@masqueradereveler21s Gwendolen Hedera, a badass mc I admire so much: from her well developed story and personality to her beautiful design and love triangle which I am eating up, everything about her is amazing and I am excited to hear more things about her in the future. And an honorable mention to Hypatia Goodwin, who is super awesome and interesting, and her story is SO intriguing!
@wrongcogs Siobhan Moriarty, whom I am IN LOVE WITH!! An excitable, girlboss, stunning, fun and all together amazing MC whom I have many ideas for drawings with her. Not to mention her design is so cool, and her and calypsos dynamic is to die for 🥹💕
@sallowslove Jean Vestit, a super intriguing and GORGEOUS MC whom has a role in the creators upcoming fic, Where We’ll Go After Battle: which from Snippets I’ve read looks absolutely fucking amazing and I am so excited to obsess over it.
@morelikeravenbores Aurélie Collins, WHOM I WOULD DIE FOR. She’s badass, amazing, gorgeous, spell binding, and Calypso is her number one fan girl. She has an amazing fic called How To Make A Villain, which you should totally check out. Aurélie is also another MC Calypso is fighting with Sebastian over 😩💕💕
@plxnetn1nes Calliope Venzak, a gorgeous, badass, and super intriguing MC with a very interesting backstory and family lore. She looks absouletly beautiful in game and in the creators drawings as well!
@keri-mcberrys Lyla Estaris, the first MC I fell in love with and canonically Calypsos first crush LMAO. A cute, badass, hilarious Hufflepuff with an amazing design. Also the first MC I ever drew haha 😂
@choccy-milkys Clora Clemons, a well written and well developed MC with a wonderful story you can read in the creators fic, The Raven and The Snake. Cute, caring, funny, and all together wonderful—and, ofc, calypso will fight Sebastian over her 💕
@faustinio27s Faustine Daemon, WHOM I LOVE SO DEARLY!! Cute, intelligent, and a total badass—not to mention I absolutely love her design. I still need to draw her and her other amazing MC, Bonnie Hutchinson: whom is just as amazing and I am genuinely so in love with her story!! She is so intriguing, stunning, girlboss, and I just know calypso would have a little crush on her haha.
@magicallylegacys Valle Dunnes. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her in one of the creators just AMAZING screenshots. Her design is gorgeous, and I’m so excited to hear more about her.
@wit-grizzlys Bear Whiteclaw, a caring and badass Ravenclaw with an awesome design! I’m always so excited to see more of the creators awesome art 🥹💕
@siboom777s Sally Salamander, an absouletly awesome MC who is always such a joy to draw. Caring, hilarious, sweet, and altogether awesome, I love her with a full heart. Not to mention she has SUCH an awesome design!
@lorrainmorgans Lorrain Morgana, WHO IS SO AWESOME?? Fun, excitable, hilarious, I would most defintely want to be her friend in real life. Her and calypsos dynamic is adorable (foreshadowing), I love her design, and not to mention her relationship with Ominis is so cute?? Go read her fic “Looking Thru My eyes”!
@the-ozzies Millie Claire. I fell in love with her caring, energetic, and badass personality the moment I saw her, and the creators comics including her are hilarious. Not to mention her design is GORGEOUS
@ravenwind-75s Johanna Newman, who is so amazing, hilarious, badass, and sweet, and she is written and developed wonderfully in the creators amazing writing. Also someone whom is very good friends with Calypso 💕
And finally, my friend-who-isnt-on-tumblrs MC Cori Condrego. A sweet, fierce, badass Slytherin who I love dearly, her design is so cute and her relationship with Sebastian is very sweet 💕
Thanks for all being such awesome people in the fandom!!

Gender, in fact, was crucial to Darwinist ideas. One of the basic assumptions within the Darwinian model was the belief that, as organisms evolved through a process of natural selection, they also showed greater signs of differentiation between the (two) sexes. Following this logic, various writers used sexual characteristics as indicators of evolutionary progress toward civilization. In Man and Woman, for instance, Ellis himself cautiously suggested that since the "beginnings of industrialism," "more marked sexual differences in physical development seem (we cannot speak definitely) to have developed than are usually to be found in savage societies.” In this passage, Ellis drew from theories developed by biologists like Patrick Geddes and J. Arthur Thomson. In their important work The Evolution of Sex, which traced the role of sexual difference in evolution, Geddes and Thomson stated that "hermaphroditism is primitive; the unisexual state is a subsequent differentiation. The present cases of normal hermaphroditism imply either persistence or reversion." In characterizing either lesbians' or African-American women's bodies as less sexually differentiated than the norm (always posited as white heterosexual women's bodies), anatomists drew upon notions of natural selection to dismiss these bodies as anomalous "throwbacks" within a scheme of cultural and anatomical progress.
Siobhan Somerville. “Scientific Racism and the Emergence of the Homosexual Body,” from Queering the Color Line.

@wondererryn's concept of American-ized names for the Project SEKAI characters inspired this.
I mostly stuck to similar-sounding or thematic American names for the first names, and used surnames with similar meanings or themes.
Names beneath the cut (in case you can't read the tier list):
Leo/Need: Melody Sterling, Skye Griffin, Carolina "Carol" Lunas (Honami is now Latina), Siobhan Sonnenberg
More More Jump!: Minerva "Minnie" Fiore, Harriet Blumenthal, Allison "Ally" Pitts, Shirley Sonnenberg
Vivid Bad Squad: Cosette Bean, Anne Whitestone, Andrew "Drew" Shakhar (the Shinonomes are now Jewish), Troy Galanis (the Aoyagis are of Greek descent)
Wonderlands X Showtime: Solomon Griffin, Emilia "Emmy" Wondervogel, Callie Burr (from "Excalibur", as a parallel to "Kusanagi), Louis "Louie" Godwin
Nightcord at 25:00: Kaitlyn Nightingale (to facilitate the "K" nickname), Jane Morgenstern (as a homage to "Jane Doe", or an unknown body), Artemis Shakhar (to match the art theme of the Shakhars), Taylor Light (a pun of sorts on "twilight")

The Not Finale 2
Tumblr media
The second part in the Not Finale series for Siobhan and Crow. Is Siobhan more stubborn than Shaxx? Well, she could probably give him a run for his glimmer for certain. Nevia belongs to the wonderful @shaken-veil
Content Warning: more trauma discussion, some angst, is there room for growth? Perhaps.
Tumblr media
“Has her kick gotten stronger?”  Cayde hopped on one foot while he rubbed at the sore spot while watching Siobhan leave.  Nevia merely sighed in exasperation at his antics before turning to Crow.  She saw him watching Siobhan’s back disappear before releasing a sigh and Nevia gave into the thought she'd had since the very night Siobhan left the Tower.
The resounding smack echoed through the small area they were in.  Cayde froze and looked over at the two in silent amusement.  Crow yelped and grabbed the back of his head, before turning to glare at Nevia.  She shook out her hand as her palm throbbed in slight pain from the impact, she’d smacked him good.  “What was that for!?”
“For being an idiot.”  Crow grumbled at Nevia's words, but he didnt object.  Nevia saw the regret on his face and wondered what caused it.  She had an idea why Siobhan avoided Crow but no matter how much they fought about it, Siobhan refused to go back to the Tower unless Crow was on a mission.
“I know.”  Surprise filled Nevia's eyes and she looked at Crow who kept his eyes in the direction Siobhan had gone, he could just barely see her cloak now.  She wasn’t gone completely but the distance was there between all of them and her.  He rubbed at his chest at the ache there.  “I was cruel.  I was hurting, in pain, confused, and so I lashed out at her because she was there.”  Nevia crossed her arms.  “I told her I never wanted to see her again.”  Nevia’s arms dropped as she realized just how bad the situation was.  Anger at both of them filled her and she exploded.
“You're the reason she left!?  I thought she was just being stupid but you said that?”  Crow nodded and Nevia threw her hands in the air.  “Idiots.  Both of you!”  Yet she couldn't help the urge to meddle.  “Try saying I'm sorry, Crow.  It would go a long way.”  With that she huffed and headed after Siobhan.  Though she didn’t know just how much it would help if Siobhan decided to dig in her heels.  Everyone claimed Lord Shaxx had a legendary stubbornness, but that was nothing compared to her best friend.
Campsite
Siobhan sat on the farthest edge of the camp, she heard them talking about the next step they needed to take.  She just couldn’t bring herself to join them.  Nevia and Cayde needed this time to settle things between them and she just…  She just couldn’t bring herself to talk to Crow.  Ever since they started the mission, lingering memories haunted her steps.  The memory of that fateful encounter on the Forbidden Shore.  She squeezed her eyes and willed the whispered words away.  Arawn floated by her head and told her to go sit by the fire but Siobhan refused.  Arawn complained about stubborn Guardians and she merely stuck out her tongue at him.  Siobhan tilted her head back and scanned the skies of the Traveler sensing the pain it was going through.  She promised to free it from the Witness’s hold.  Even if that took everything from her, she knew Arawn agreed.  This was their purpose.  To defend the Traveler from the Darkness.  Siobhan didn't want to say the words out loud so she settled for thinking them.  Her thoughts were disrupted by the sound of boots approaching.  Her lips settled into a thin line as she debated what to say to him.
“I've kept out of your way this entire time. I'd like to be left alone right now.”  Siobhan sensed Arawn's hesitation and she sighed.  “Unless it's about the mission, then I'm ready to report.” She gave him a mock salute while leaning back that drew his brows together.  He wasn’t quite used to the mocking tone that was so prevalent in her lately.
“More of your humor?” She wrinkled her nose at him.  “What?”  Glint suddenly appeared beside him and floated in front of Siobhan.  He never sensed any hostility from this Guardian.  Never.  Even when the rest all showed derision, violence, and hatred.  They all hurled insults, used their Light against them, and so many declared they’d kill his Guardian.  Even Nevia had a knee jerk reaction to seeing Crow.  But this one never did.  Instead, Glint had sensed a despair so deep he worried it cracked her soul.  Until he found out she was the one that killed Crow, he wondered what had caused such an intense feeling.  Now he knew.  He knew that the regret still chased her and that she carried a heavy burden all alone.
“Hello Glint.” Siobhan smiled at him and his shell fluttered at the warmth in her voice.  She held up her hand and Crow reached for him.  “If you think I'm the type to destroy another Guardian's Ghost, then I have no words for you Crow.”  Siobhan sent him an icy glare that froze him in his tracks.  Glint happily settled into her palm and Arawn joined him.  “I'm happy to see you two getting along.”
“Yes, I remember Glint's travels in finding his Guardian.”  Arawn told them.  “Remember, we saw him in the Cosmodrome once.”
“Oh!  That was you Glint?” Glint bobbed in agreement and Siobhan gave him a warm smile.  “I'm pleased you found him then.”  Even if the reason he did was because of her actions.  She left that part silent.
“I heard my sister sent you a pardon?” Siobhan snorted and looked over her shoulder at him.  He could see the barely contained amusement there.
“Shockingly, yes she did.  A pardon for killing Prince Uldren Sov of the Awoken.  And I did the proper thing and thanked her, even to the Awoken's standard.” Siobhan laughed as Glint and Arawn floated up, leaving a trail of sparkles on her hand.  It helped ease the pain in her heart.  She didn't need Mara's forgiveness, though she wasn't stupid enough to turn it down.  Siobhan knew that she'd never forgive herself.  The regret pulled her down like a weight chained to her heart.  How could she forgive herself?  The second person she had loved was dead because of her, just like the first.  There wasn’t any forgiveness meant for her and she knew it.
“I see.  Look, I need to talk to you.”  Siobhan sighed and watched Glint go back to Crow.  She didn’t particularly want to open up that can of worms.  They didn’t need any distractions from the mission, it was critical they succeed.
“Is now really a good time?  We've got to save the Traveler.”  She didn't want to rehash the past.  He'd said everything he needed to say back then.  Her heart couldn't take another confrontation like that.  He deserved to yell at her, to get out every single feeling he had regarding her part in his death.  She just didn’t think it would be a good idea now.  He’d get it all out, the others would get involved, and then it would be awkward with all the silence and tension.
“Yes.  It has to be now.” Siobhan looked up at him and then back at the camp.  Two equally awkward scenarios but she let out an exasperated breath.  Arawn looked at her in concern when she got to her feet and faced Crow.  Fine, if he really wanted to hash this out.  Siobhan could take a little more emotional beatings for the moment, and she’d have some times to just be by herself while they tracked down Ikora.
“Fine then.  Lead the way,” Siobhan grumbled and clasped her hands behind her head.  Crow gave a terse nod and walked away from camp.  She felt Nevia's eyes on her back but didn't look at her.  She knew Nevia wanted her to get along with Crow, she’d lectured Siobhan about how if she could get along with Crow then Siobhan could do it too.  She saw how much healing Nevia had done, and so she kept Crow's words to herself.  No need to let Nevia know how bad it was between them.  Let her think it was Siobhan's issues.  Crow deserved a clean slate, completely.  She’d worked damned hard to make sure he didn’t have any burdens left.  She did keep the fact she put out a Tower wide blast to all Guardians to leave Crow alone or she’d rain down hellfire on them a secret.
Siobhan leaned against a rock when they came to a stop.  She was braced for his anger, for the lashing out, for anything.  “Alright, let's have at it.” She sighed and crossed her arms.  Crow kept his back to her and she waited.  It took him only a moment to begin speaking, but she didn’t expect what he had to say.
“I remember what happened during the final fight between us.” Siobhan's eyes widened but she didn't say anything.  He had lashed out at her last time with the same words.  I know you’re the one who killed me.  “I listened this time.  I don't like dwelling on it, but Glint told me to look back.  To see if it was like you said.”
“And?” Siobhan asked.
“It's like you said.  I pushed you until you had no choice.  Riven would have used me to free herself.” Crow clenched his fist.  “As a Guardian I understand the choice you made.”
Siobhan was stunned.  She reminded herself that this just meant he understood, not that he forgave her.  You don’t deserve any forgiveness.  She heard that voice in the back of her mind, slithering and coiling around her heart.  Two men died because of you, both at your hand.  How many more will die because of you?  Siobhan saw he was waiting for a response from her.  She didn't know what to say, words weren't her strength.  Especially when it came to expressing her feelings.  She swallowed the lump of feelings in her throat as she struggled to put her emotions into words.
“I'm.  I am sorry.”  Crow's eyes widened and Siobhan sighed.  “For keeping it from you but I saw you were happy.  Then I saw you with Amanda and I thought you truly had a second chance at everything.  You deserved that second chance.  So, I kept my mouth shut.”  Glint flexed his shell and hovered by Siobhan's head.  She wondered what the little Ghost was about, but she didn’t need to wait for long.  Glint bobbed by her head before slamming into her forehead.  “Agh!” She cried out and rubbed at the spot.  She grumbled a bit as her fingers massaged the stinging spot.  “I deserve that one.”  Crow grabbed Glint before he could execute another blow.
“Glint.”  Glint huffed and stared at Siobhan.  He now understood just how heavy the burden she carried was.  Sure they had their own guilt, one that Crow couldn’t quite shake.  He’d killed Cayde.  By doing so that had set Siobhan on the path that could only have one outcome.  They got a second chance to be happy, but what about her?  His optic narrowed as he saw the shadows in her eyes.  Glint huffed and addressed Siobhan again.
“Arawn told me you have your memories.” Siobhan paused and shot a panicked look up at Glint.  He hadn’t expected another Guardian to have memories of their past.  It wasn’t supposed to be like that.  Guardians did not possess memories of their past, that had to do in part with the whole resurrection thing.  “So it's true.  How?  How did it happen?”
“Nothing like what happened with Crow.  Mine happened when we lost our Light.  I had really odd dreams about a woman named Selene.  These dreams involved Uldren and the queen.  It freaked me the hell out, I didn’t need some weird woman tracking me down while I was trying to get my Light back.  So, we look into the Awoken records and lo and behold.  My face looks out at us.”  Siobhan sighed and shook her head.  “When I lost my connection to the Traveler, the memories of my past life surfaced.  I suppose it was because my death wasn't so long in the past that my mind was able to recall them.”
“So, you know?” Siobhan let out a small breath.  This was going to be super awkward but she knew it had to be out in the open.  Crow seemed to want it said as well.  She rubbed at her temple and nodded.
“That I was once Selene Corinnj, assassin and infiltrator with the Crows and lover to the Awoken prince?  Yeah.  Yeah, I remember all of it now.”  Crow took a step back at her words but Siobhan sent him a scathing look.  “Don't.  I'm not holding anything against you.  You were probably angry and hurt when I casually walked up to your sister's throne that day.”  Uldren’s instant hostility made a lot more sense when her memories returned.  While their relationship had been a shade past the side of toxic, Selene had cared deeply for the prince.  She figured Uldren had cared for Selene in his own way, but had no memory of him confirming anything with her past self.
“I.  I was shocked.  That doesn't excuse what I did.” Crow crossed his arms and Siobhan looked at him.  She studied him for a moment but he refused to meet her eyes.  She leaned over but he shifted away from her, the aura patterns on his cheeks standing out against his skin.  Siobhan couldn’t help the laugh as she realized what happened.
“Are you embarrassed?  Don't be.  I enjoyed it.”  Crow and Glint both panicked at her words and Siobhan doubled over at their reaction.  “Your face!”  They both sent her identical scathing glares as she wound down from her laughter.
Crow's face settled into a frown as she straightened and wiped at her eyes.  Arawn floated beside her, chastising her for the reaction.  “I'm trying to say…” They both turned to him and Crow found the words stuck in his throat.  How could he have ever thought she killed him so easily?  Not when he heard how she absolutely refused to participate in the Crucible, and barely in the Gambit.  Crow sighed.  “I forgive you.”  Siobhan paused and looked up at him.  “You did everything you could to convince him, me, off that path.  And you made the right choice.”  Siobhan winced at his words.  “What?”
“Never thought I'd hear those words.  Dunno how to react to that.” Siobhan rubbed the back of her head.  Siobhan certainly didn’t expect the forgiveness but she had no idea what to do with it.  Perhaps she could put it off until after they dealt with the whole Witness thing?  Hopefully Crow would see the wisdom in that.  She leaned back against the rock and blew out a breath.  “Can we work together now?  Do you trust me at your back?”  She held out her hand towards him and Crow studied it.
“I trust you at my back.”  Crow grabbed her hand and shook it.  Siobhan ignored the tiny spark that burned in her before he pulled back from the handshake.  They could work together now, and that was all she needed.
“Well, that’s over with.  I'll try to get a nap in.” Siobhan headed over to her spot leaving Crow standing there.
“Something doesn't feel right Glint.”  Glint looked up at Crow before focusing on Siobhan’s back.  “But I don't know what it is.”

Finding You AU Pt 2
Lena the violinist is struggling to find her voice as a violinist, and Kara the actor is feeling constrained by her beefcake warrior franchise role. Kara asks Lena to help her run lines, and Lena agrees because it's not like practicing her violin has been helping at all.
When Lena falls to giggles over some of the dialogue Kara has to memorize, Kara surprises her by delivering them with such conviction, such nuance, that Lena's breath catches in her chest. From then on, Lena becomes Kara's go to scene partner for running lines.
On Lena's side, she finds her brother's old journal in one of the drawers, from his own days spent in Ireland. With Lex now gone and buried, this glimpse of her brother is precious. Among its pages, Lena finds sketch he drew of a half crumbled celtic cross headstone, with her own name at the bottom of the page. Convinced its something Lex meant her to see, Lena spends every spare moment she has looking in graveyards to try and find it.
Kara invites Lena to set one day to run lines, and she ends up meeting Siobhan Smythe, the beautiful sorceress to Kara's barabarian warrior. Siobhan is clearly suspicious of Lena, and hangs possessively on Kara's arm, which later makes sense when Lena sees a tabloid headline declaring Kara and Siobhan to be an item.
But Kara never mentions it herself, instead focusing on making herself Lena's tour guide of Ireland, taking her to all the landmarks. She even takes Lena to a pub, where the town drunkard reveals himself to be a master fiddler. When Kara reveals to him that Lena plays the violin, the man invites Lena to play on stage with him.
She initially refuses, citing that she plays violin, not fiddle, but the man (and the crowd) insists. Lena ultimately relents, and easily memorizes amd mimics the tune the fiddler plays for her. Then, he tells her the key to fiddling-- play like you enjoy it.
And Lena does.
