#guess who ordered a 100% cotton mto dress online and received a semi-synthetic blend when it arrived 4 months later 🫠#im not fuming but like. i kind of am. they were like 'oh well its not *synthetic* its rayon--' that's a semi synthetic #also it doesn't matter since the point is that *i didn't receive what i thought i was buying*#they were also like 'whoopsie we'll update the description! thanks for pointing that out!' THAT'S NOT HOW THAT WORKS??#its one thing for the written description to have a mistake while the photos are accurate to what you receive--#but in this case the photos were for a sample dress made of 100% cotton that they just decided not to make and didnt update at any point #so like. how am i at fault for being misled here #this was a 'congrats on finding a job after a year of searching' gift for myself but i'll just sew my own shit from now on i guess #oh and forgot to mention. they told me to cut off a bit of the fabric to do a burn test to test if its synthetic #first off--CUT INTO THE DRESS? Second off--THEY WANTED ME TO MAIL THE CUT SWATCH BACK TO THEM FOR THEM TO BURN? third off--#it still wouldnt be any percentage cotton!! by their OWN admission!! they *said* what fibers are in the fabric!#truly insane. i asked for them to remake it but im now considering changing my mind and asking for a refund instead

hi everyone! no page today, probably not sunday either. my pc has been out of commission for over a month so i've been drawing on my laptop--but i'm getting to the point where i really would like to 3d model my backgrounds to make them a little easier on me and give me more energy to experiment/make pages nicer, so i'm going to try to hold out until my pc gets fixed and i can do so for these next couple of pages.

it'll be a lot of front-loaded work, but it'll be worth it in the long run, i think!

#not boughclan #sorry for the inconvenience!#i've been thinking about doing it for a while anyway #but the next couple of pages i want to figure out what the camp looks like for real since that's where they'll be taking place #hoping my pc is close to fixed! i've got a bsod loop. thought it was my ram but ordering replacement ram didn't fix the issue #my partner tried to wipe my startup disk and reinstall windows but it cant even get to the installation point on my pc #we're going to try to reseat the cpu with new thermal paste #and if THAT doesn't work i'll try overclocking my ram #and if that fails as well............ i'll ask my tech friend and if they don't have any ideas then i'm going to take it in to professional #if it's getting to a week+ with no progress i'll try to draw the pages anyway!#lately i've been playing a pokemon sacred gold nuzlocke and thinking about a nuzlocke comic as well #it started as afun thing and now i'm like. wait but this could be fun #boughclan would have precedence but i do enjoy drawing pokemon every once in a while. would probably be a once-a-month kind of deal #anyway this has been life updates with selkie #selkie rabble

#now are the comparisons always good critique?? no i don't think so #of all the types of criticism i think comparing one thing to another is on the weaker side #i disagree with the notion that you should only criticise something for what it *did* rather than what it *didn't*#(cuz tbh it's just semantics and framing to me)#but comparing one piece of media to another in order to dunk on one always feels kinda cheap #unless it's adaptation vs source material #BUT people will do it if they're in the same genre and came out around the same time #and in this case i think it makes sense esp since they're direct competitors #well in bioware's case it's clearly attempting to be and failing embarrassingly 80% of the time #and bg3 is a literal sequel to their older games #so it makes sense to be like 'yikes bg3 is doing bioware better than bioware oof'

so uh, remember back in 2019 when I was like I want to do a Dishonored cross-stitch, something harder than the Outsider’s Mark but also easier than actual people? And I wasn’t seeing a lot of existing patterns so I spent some time messing with C-Stitch and didn’t start stitching it until 2020? And I decided it would look cooler if I used the Diament metallic gold instead of just plain gold floss, aka I made it 10x more difficult. And also it would be 10in by 10in which is big for me. Like, I’ve never finished anything that big.

Well, until now.

#it's 111:30 pm i do Not trust myself to frame it #i'll do it tomorrow after work and make a real post #fun fact about the frame i bought it in 2020 which seemed ridiuculous but #it was good i did since i got it at bed bath beyond #it's gold and matches the metallic thread okay it's perfect #also this was 18 count aida #I should've just ordered some black 18 count online but I didn't #so...yeah. there's a reason it took 3 years

idk if it's because my mum worked in a tv magazine or what but all the media wars and backstabbing and stuff happening behind the cameras is so so interesting to me

#just saw what happened yesterday in la revuelta ojalá se muera el enano pelirrojo #so for non-spaniards here's a crash course on the situation (i could do a post about media groups in spain cause it's a lot)#there's this one late night show that's been on air for about 15 years called el hormiguero #it started fine (i used to watch it with my family when it started)#but soon there were some issues that people were seeing #especially concerning the presenter (who's also the head ofthe show) pablo motos #and his attitude with female guests he'd interview #basically being very weird and gross around them #apart from that in the last year he started to get very political in the show #he invited right and far right leaders while refusing to do so with the left wing #started making monologues at the beginning of each show critizising stuff the left had done or said #and finally included a debate segment in the show in which he invited liked-minded people to discuss politics #this has directly affected his audience. my dad is a fan of el hormoguero and i've seen him turn more right wing every year #so. last summer RTVE (national broadcast company) announced they were gonna do a late night show presented by david broncano #it's hard to describe everything here but basically broncano already had a late show called la resistencia in a streaming platform #it has always been very popular with young people and it is quite left wing #the new program made by RTVE was called la revuelta. it is exactly the same as la resistencia #before it started airing people were sceptic that broncano would be able to defeat motos' hegemony #BUT. ever since it started aiting in september it has consistently been getting more audience than el hormiguero #who would've known people were tired of the redhead bastard #anyways. apart from this. different celebrities on ppdcasts have been saying that in order to promote their product they are forced to go #to el hormiguero even of they didn't want to #there's also rumours of pablo motos blackmailing people (mostly comedians) who make fun of him #and now to what happened last night. i don't watch tv so i just saw it on twitter #broncano opened the show saying that they were sorty but they had no guest tonight #they had this one person but 30 minutes before shooting the people from el hormiguero had called him #he was originally going to go both to la revuelta and el hormiguero #but the guys from el hormiguero called him to tell him that if he went to la revuelta he couldn't go to el hormiguero #el hormiguero is bigger than la revuelta so. he had to cancel #broncano went on to say this had happened before and that's why he was talking about it
