Creating a distant terrain : sims 3 CC creation help needed

Hi everyone! I am trying to create CC... again ! I'm trying to create a distant terrain for a CAW project I'm currently working on. I use Blender, S3PE, S3OC and Photoshop. I really want to understand what I do, and a lot of tutorials that I find online don't explain why we do this, or that.

So I am asking the beautiful community of sims 3 creators to help me figure out how to use the GEOM tool in blender ! I learnt after several searches online that GEOM files are important to create level of details in the game (the more you "zoom" the more you see details on an object, thanks to MODL and MLOD files).

I tried to create a simple object : a distant terrain for small map (I found an object template in this tutorial https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=407723).

I added a simple rectangle on the square (a building),

I UV Mapped it (smart UV Project on Blender), textured it

and when I try to export (File > Export > SIM 3 GEOM) i have this error message : "Selected object is not valid Sims 3 GEOM, export cancelled".

I transformed verts as triangles, joined the objects, apply the modifiers. I just can't figure out why I have this error and I don't want to use TSRW because it is very buggy and I want to understand every file present in my package file.

Do you know this error ?

The Sims 3 Material Painter

Been working on a tool that easily creates The Sims 3 material maps based only on a few texture layers, most of it derived from height data. This was done long time ago, but very sloppily, and it was not at all approachable.

Discovering THIS free blender add-on that lets you plaint layers in it, made me return to this project and finalize it for release.

The tool can export:

- Multiplier, RGB+A

- Normal Map, RGB+A

- CAST Map, RGB+A

- Specular Map

- Overlay, RGB+A

~~Get it HERE, and please, make sure to get THIS blender plugin, it's NEEDED for this to work. Blender 4.2+ is also needed for these to work together.~~

I will make a tutorial and edit this post eventually, on how to use this efficiently.

Former soldier and war veteran, Mark's flatmate and assistant. His family came from a lineage of (Sulani) healers and shamans, making him curious about his friend's research.

Elliot O'Brian

Wonder boy, a young man who beat the telepathy test giving 90% correct answers. While the world admires his abilities, his own family wishes him dead. Simply because you can't hide anything from Elliot. A cook from some small pizzeria who dreams about opening his own restaurant.

Pani Freya Burana

Hereditary witch, Tarot expert and medium who speaks with the dead through automatic writing. She lives in her own world of occult and believes she was born to give the living a well-deserved magic kick (for a small, almost insignificant fee of a few thousand). Author of ten books on how to open a Goddess within you and one on how to buy all your Goddess wants but can't afford.

Mr and Mrs Rogers

Servants in Hillhouse, strange pious, somber siblings who look after the mansion as their parents did before them, and their grandparents before that… They know that the house is haunted and the only way to avoid being cursed is to leave before dark, stay loyal and do their bids solemnly.

Hecate Moreno

15-years old Russell's half-sister, left by their father to Russell's care. Her mother died in a car crash when she was five. After Mr Moreno married a prosperous journalist and TV hostess and had three more kids with her, he lost any interest in his older kids as a painful reminder of his stressful past. Hecate is a grim, angry teen with a heart filled with dark thoughts and an irresistible appeal to horror movies. The only person she truly cares for is her brother. Secretly, she dreams about Russell turning into a vampire and eating up all their happy, successful family. She'd buy popcorn to watch that.

I went digging through my old backups to find a house I'd built years ago for my sims 3 story family, the O'Donnaghailes. the house exterior was based off of Lallybroch (Midhope Castle). I've updated the outside a bit and started decorating the interior in the vein of a Scottish/Irish manor house to keep in line with the story vibes. sometimes I think about resurrecting that story, but I just don't think I could ever get along with sims 3 well enough to pull it off, and porting it to sims 4 would lose the heart and soul, which was Rinn Fada and Glen Donnach being the original inspiration. for those interested, the original story was posted here. does make me a bit nostalgic about when I used to do prose on simblr.
