Papa Wolf Besteel AU Headcanons.

Also known as 'Besteel has a daughter and gets a redemptive Arc' XD. I recently watched the series (man, I gotta read the books now), and while I hear it has quite the changes from the books, I fell in love with a certain Dorcean's redesign. I wouldn't mind him hunting me down.

And so, I came up with this fic idea. I'm still drafting it, but I got a general idea.

Besteel has an eight year old daughter, Fayluna—or 'Fay' for short. She's, perhaps, the only one who can get a genuine smile out of him (when he's in a good mood, that is).

Cassiora, Besteel's wife and Fay's mother, was a slender, red-furred Dorcean who preferred the hu-man crossbow and arrows as her hunting tools. Sadly, she died in a hunt gone awry when her daughter was two years old. Her death still haunts Besteel more than what he likes to admit, and it contributes to his overprotectiveness of his daughter.

Redimus is a cool uncle who often babysits Fay while Besteel is out hunting. The latter hasn't taken his daughter along ever since her mother was killed, despite Fay's pleas.

When Besteel is in papa wolf mode, run away.

Fay was imprisoned alongside Redimus after the latter's sideshow in the Queen's museum. Loroc knew that the best way to keep the 'best hunter in Orbona' under his thumb was through the only two people he cares about. Unfortunately, this means that Fay didn't see her father for two years—the time he's spent capturing the replacement animals.

During the events of Captive, Redimus finally manages to help his niece escape their cell through a ventilation shaft. While sneaking around the palace looking for her father, Fay runs into Eva. Despite a rocky start, the two soon befriend each other. Eva, unaware of who Fay's father is, promises to help her find him.

Queen Ojo didn't know that Fay and Redimus were imprisoned. She promises to set him free, but Fay leaves with Eva in the gold fish to look for her father.

Rovender quickly grows fond of Fay, who reminds him a bit of his daughter. He is also the first to realize who her father is.

Besteel's assault during Ruins was driven by his papa wolf instinct, as Loroc had lied to him saying the hu-man had taken his daughter as retribution. His purpose wasn't to kill Eva, but to save his Fay—killing the hu-man who 'abducted' her would be a bonus. It's not until after accidentally killing Muthr that Fay finally catches up and he learns what really happened.

Rather than let him get eaten by the sand snippers, Eva saves Besteel's life. Unlike him, she wouldn't leave a child an orphan, thus shaking the Dorcean to the core. He doesn't attend Muthr's funeral, being the one who killed her, but watches from afar while Fay does.

Besteel is a very reluctant member of the group. He's only there because of Fay, but still he mostly keeps to himself. Still, his physical strength and knowledge of Orbona's creatures proves valuable in the long run. He still has quite a short fuse and tends to butt heads with Eva. Still, he ends up giving her his version of a 'pep talk' every now and then.

While Besteel isn't in good terms with Eva, he does develop a friendlier disposition with Rovender, who actually sympathizes with what he went through. He would have done the same for his wife and daughter.

Besteel's the type of father who likes doting on his daughter every now and then, but when he says no, it means no

I think Chikage would make a really funny Loid Forger.

Imagine him in charge of this small pink-haired telepath who lies about her age and reads his mind to finish a crossword puzzle.

Papa is a major liar indeed.

I'm convinced he would end up much like Twilight though. I mean, a different pink-haired person already captured his heart through grandsonly charm. As cold as he presents himself, Chikage is rather soft-hearted.

That won't stop him from being an absolute drill sergeant of a tutor towards his child though. After all, he can be very single-minded in regards to missions. At least, until the kid finds out that he is surprisingly easy to manipulate with a sad face. "One episode of 'Spy Wars'," he claims, not realizing that he has revealed his weakness.

At least he's also more than willing to break the rules, so while it would be nice if stellas could be earned naturally, a few adjusted tests and contrived situations to speed up the process are far from beneath him. Just as long as his new family isn't in danger.

However, the Forger-Utsuki's better have stomachs of steel. If he's still the only parent that cooks... *side eyes the spice cabinet*

I'm sure he's trained in non-spicy cooking, but whether he remembers the first time he cooks for someone besides himself is another question. He makes sure to keep milk stocked in the fridge now, after having to awkwardly comfort his new adoptee as they sobbed through the pain.

It's also funny to imagine Chikage shocked and fearing that he's losing his edge when an assass- office worker appears behind him without him noticing. And yet he somehow comes to the conclusion they are his best spousal candidate.

Let alone the concept of him living with a large, affectionate dog. Consider, the first part of episode 27 [BOND'S STRATEGY TO STAY ALIVE] with Chikage.

I just want him to suffer the same confusion that Loid does from applying normal person logic to his abnormal family.

An alternative I considered was Tenma, but that's my 4th-wall-breaker side kicking in. Though he does fit the fluster!

How did you get into prongsfoot and when?

Hohoho this is getting interesting. I'm spilling tea and my deepest darkest secret.

Let's start with how I first got into harry potter

My sister is a millennial, and she's older than me a lot, like a lot lot, so when I was just a kid watching lotr and simping over legolas on tv, my sister came home with a newly published hp book and read it for me. I didn't remember much but I did say something along the line mentioned Sirius' name that "his name sounds beautiful"

When I got into secondary school, I had watched all of the hp movies but never touched the books bc my aunt borrowed all the copies, so I begged my mom if I could use my allowance to buy new books and she said yes. I gave the money to my sister and she bought me 2 harry potter box sets, one for reading and one for displaying (the extra one was my birthday gift)

I spent nights trying to absorb those and I fell in love the more I read about Sirius, he's such a cool character, I love him to the point I asked my friends to join my Sirius cult haha. My bestie also liked the Marauders very much and she loved Jily so I started learning about James and Lily too. Even though I don't ship them as hard as Prongsfoot now, I still call them papa James and mama Lily (It's because of our translation makes it sounds super cute to call them like that)

Okay it's getting heated. One of my friends announced that they love wolfstar, and being the artist of the group, I was asked to join and draw for them. My other friend, said that they liked James/Snape (seriously idk what this ship called) and demanded me to join them. At that time, I already felt how much I love James and Sirius and I adore their relationship very much, I feel very weird when they're being separated and I can't stand that (also bc I cried when I know how much they meant to each other in the books). I declined both of them and they were like "WHAT?". The wolftar one said "well can't you see how intimate they are in the movie?", and the James/Snape said "the rivalry between two enemies makes the best trope". But tbh I love Prongsfoot for the way they are, utterly loyal and devoted, their co-dependancy, how they're like two peas in the same pod, like the reflection in the mirror, one that never lies and cherishes the other till their last breath. I love how comfortable and easy they are being with each other. To me, they're full and content.

At first, it was just the feeling that they seem right. Very right. But then it became more and more, like a car racing down the highway, it felt like I fell hard and fast for them so then I started scavanging everywhere for their contents. I read fics, watched fanarts, practicing drawing whenever I had the time so that I could someday be able to contribute something for Prongsfoot, and I did it, it's still not every good imo but for now I'm feeling happy that I'm able to draw them, and write fics about them (they're all in Vietnamese tho)

Well, I think it all thanks to that one fic on fanfiction for turning me to the right path. I was still hesitate over wolfstar bc I didn't want to make my friend sad. But then after reading that devishly exquisite cherry on top fic, my heart and my head snapped straight to Prongsfoot. The way the author described their relationship was like the last nail in the coffin that set me forever laying deep in this Prongsfoot hole. Yahh I was 15 back then, what a time. I'm in my 20s now and that fic still embroided in my mind as clear as the sky (one of the reason it's my fav one is bc it's so morally wrong and fucked up in the head, it's basically dead dove but cooked beautifully)

That's another line that sounds savage in different ways in the different dubs XD it's lines like these that make me wish I could understand the other languages too.

One of the people in the audience of that politician's speech was thinking "I don't want peace." I couldn't catch all of the lines, because the subtitles don't always match the spoken dialogue, but this one caught my attention.

When Yor jumps off the high vantage point in the park and Loid starts chasing after the thief, he says "Ok then". Just casually following Yor's initiative. Simp alert.

"I hope you're into prison food."

(I had to translate "Knastfraß" (prison food), and the interesting thing about this word is the difference between essen, which means "eat" and is used for humans eating, and the word fressen, which also means "eat" but is used for animals eating... or derogatorily for humans, basically mocking them that they eat like animals. "Knastfraß" seems to be a derivative of "fressen" and... that's something to think about) (that's my humble interpretation, I couldn't find anything on a quick internet search so again if you actually speak German feel free to correct me)

Grandpa! Zhongli brainrot here 😂😂

I absolutely adore the idea of papa zhongli taking care of his grandchild/ren.

I have this scenario of child!reader (they're an adult now) along with their family visiting papa zhongli to celebrate maybe his birthday or something else. Anyway, i can already imagine little child being shy when they're being introduced by their parents to their grandpa.

Maybe they hide behind Their parents legs while peeking at grandpa zhongli because they're curious but at the same time they're not used to meeting people. I can see zhongli patting their head as he gave them something to play with.

So when they're eating together, little one is looking at the adults foods because they're advised to not eat something hard yet (their teeth hasn't grown yet) so imagine papa zhongli maybe like excusing himself to maybe soften the eyed food so they can taste it with their parents approval of course.

After he soften it maybe boiling it or fried depending on what cooking style it was cook with. The little one is excited to eat it while their parents are taking turns to feed them little by little while smashing it so they can eat it. All the while papa zhongli is watching them with a big smile thinking 'this is the bday gift i received'. His child happy with their life and have Their own family.

I'm having baby fever earlier even though I'm still a child 🤣🤣 maybe this is a sign papa zhongli is telling me he's proud of me 🥺🥺

joyce's job added NOTHING to the plot except to keep the phone lines busy, making it easier for mike and will to push each other away

mike supposedly never wrote will any letters

mike still thinks will likes a girl in Lenora (probably)

will lied about the painting, which was the whole basis of mike's piggyback monologue

will is in pain, pining and sobbing, CONSTANTLY framed as emotionally between the couple but has actively tried to remove himself from the equation by pushing them together. The audience sympathises with him and he's literally the only thing keeping makayla going.

we still know literally nothing about what is going on inside michael wheeler's head. but explain to me why he hyperfocuses on will's behaviour during a date with his girlfriend. explain why he uses that soft voice and soft eyes and heartwarming smile only with will. explain to me why his breath catches and he simps for will's art but can only describe his girlfriend as a superhero.

el didn't feel loved. she likened mike to papa in her mind. mike saw it in her eyes that she was starting to understand that she didn't need him anymore.

It is too fucking early. Geralt groans, but it is no use trying to fall back asleep — the loud screams coming from the other side of the wall are making sure of that.

"It's okay, I've got her," Jaskier whispers and then he can hear the sound of feet patting across the floor and out of the bedroom. A few seconds later, the crying stops.

Geralt rubs his eyes and sits up in bed. He is tired, so fucking tired, but he knows that even if he lies back down, he will just stare at the ceiling. He can't sleep without Jaskier by his side, as pathetic as it sounds — the beating of his husband's heart has been his lullaby for years now.

He doesn't know how long Jaskier's gone for, but when he comes back he is not alone. "Someone wanted to see her Papa," he says and presses a kiss to Ciri's chubby cheek before climbing back into bed with her.

Geralt doesn't say anything, just holds out his hands and pulls her close once Jaskier has carefully placed her in his arms. Her blonde hair is sticking up in every direction possible and she is staring at him with big blue eyes, even bluer than her dad's. For a moment, he is entranced, completely enamoured with his, no, their daughter.

A voice pulls Geralt back into the present.

"It's incredible that such a tiny creature can scream so loudly you wanna cut your ears off," Jaskier says. He is leaning against their bed's headboard, legs loosely crossed over each other. There's baby spit all over his shirt and the circles under his eyes are almost as dark as his hair. He has never looked better, and Geralt leans in for a kiss.

"We knew what we were in for when we adopted her," he replies and pulls faces at Ciri to make her laugh. She lets out a giggle and shows them a toothless smile, her little tongue sticking out of her mouth.

"Truly a daddy's girl. And yes, but they weren't kidding when they said that the first 6 months are the hardest." Jaskier pauses for a moment.

"Still. I wouldn't trade this for the world." He places his hand on Geralt's thigh, his wedding ring illuminated by the moonlight shining through their bedroom window.

Geralt only nods in agreement before he has to stifle a yawn. The lack of sleep, the nightly diaper changes, the balance of his work and his family — all of it is getting to him. And yet, in moments like these, when they're all together and the world is quiet, he thanks the universe for granting him these two blessings.

He closes his eyes and leans his head back against the wall. An arm wraps itself around his shoulders and pulls him close until his head is comfortably lying on Jaskier's chest. Ciri is still safely nestled in his arms, but she has stopped moving, the even rhythm of her breath indicating that she's fallen back asleep again. Soft lips press a kiss to his forehead.

This is home, he thinks before he joins her.

You took a deep breath, excited for your new job. You were sure working at the Dawn Winery wouldn’t be too difficult, right? Right? It’ll be perfectly fine, you assured yourself. You opened the doors and were greeted by the sound of children cheering.

“I gotcha!”

“AHH- “

A blue haired child fell onto a chaise, then started squirming. “I’ve been hit! R…remember mE!”

You couldn’t help but giggle at the two. They looked about 6 maximum.

The redheaded child turned to you. “Oh, who’re you?”

“I’m Y/N, your-“You paused. You shouldn’t make any rash assumptions. “Master Crepus hired me. Is he here?”

“Papa’s upstairs in his office. But he did leave us this.” The child handed you a paper, outlining your tasks for the day.

“I guess I’ve got to take care of you two. So,” You bent over to his height and ruffled his soft hair. “What do you want to do?”

“We were playing pirates...but if you can take us outside…” The kid’s eyes were wide with pleading. The infamous puppy dog eyes. You crumbled.

“All right, all right. What’re your names first?”

The child with blue hair stood up and dashed over. “I’m Captain Kaeya!”

“No, you’re not.”

“Shush Diluc.”

“Kaeya and Diluc then.” You smiled at the two.

“Actually, it’s Diluc and Kaeya.” Diluc corrected. “I’m older.”

“Diluc and Kaeya,” You amended. “Shall we go outside?”

“Woohoo!!” The two boys ran outside quickly, you chuckled and followed them.

  They played for hours upon hours. Would they ever run out of energy? The sun had started to set, you ordered them back inside. You were met with a taller man with red hair similar to Diluc’s. His foot was tapping against the floor, his arms were crossed.

Diluc and Kaeya stopped short. Their heads hung low. “Sorry Papa.” They said in unison.

“I’ll ask this one time. Who let you two out?” The man ordered.

You gulped and met the eyes of the man. “I did sir. I deeply apologize.”

His eyes met your and his expression softened in a way. Maybe it was due to how sheepish you looked?

“A common mistake. These two can easily win people over.” He emitted a warm atmosphere now, and he walked over and ruffled the hair of his sons. “But it won’t happen again. Not without permission.”

“Yes sir, of course.” You nodded. You were incredibly relieved of Master Crepus’ easy-going nature. You had a feeling working here would be fun.

Everyday was a new adventure, caring for the Ragnvindr boys. You played pirates, attended parties, watched over their lessons. You smiled and listened and watched over these boys like they were your own, in some way you felt like a parent yourself. You loved this feeling and wanted to cherish it.

You had held your occupation for over a year now and you have never been so fond of the household. Crepus tells the boys such wonderful stories at night, shifting his tone for each characters to make the audience giggle. Taking tour along the winery, pointing out all the wildlife.

While it’s true Crepus does spend a majority of his time working, when he comes out it’s like the sun peeking from behind clouds, a rare, warm event.

“Mx. Y/N, Mx. Y/N!” called Kaeya. He clutched several letters in hand. “You got something in the mail! I’m not sure why it came here though…”

“No matter, thanks for the delivery.” You ruffled the kid’s hair like you always did.

He giggled and ran off, leaving you to address the letter privately.

  You felt increasingly flustered the longer you held the parchment. It wasn’t signed, no, but you planned to accept. What’s the harm if you did? You would probably need to request time off from Master Crepus…

You knocked on the door to his office, out rang a gruff voice. “Come in.”

“Master Crepus?” You peeked through the doorframe.

His expression softened at the sight of you. “Yes Y/N?”

“I received a letter earlier, inviting me to go to a picnic. I was planning on accepting, may I request time off?”

He pondered this for a second. “Yes, of course.. Take the rest of the day off, actually.”

“Really? I couldn’t do that Master Crepus, I really couldn’t.”

“Nonsense. You deserve a break.”

You looked hesitantly at your boss but gave in. “Alright. But tomorrow I’ll arrive early.”

“If you insist.”

You nodded and stepped outside of the office to inform the boys you were leaving and that they were expected to behave themselves for the hours you were gone.

The wind blew lazily in your hair as you walked to the roots of the Windrise tree. A small blanket was set up with a basket and candles. You sat carefully on one side, promising yourself to not look just yet. You heard a slight shift and peeked at your suitor. You gasped at the familiar face.

“Y/N-“

He looked extremely worried and hesitant, which was honestly fair. You erupted into a small smile. “Did you mean all of those things? In the letter?”

“Of course. All of that and more.”

You felt blush creep onto your cheeks. You looked down at the blanket. “I don’t know what to say.”

“Don’t say anything.”

His voice reassured you easily, like how his stories could lull Kaeya and Diluc to sleep.

You scooted closer to him and muttered something about eating the food. The two of you dined together while Crepus occasionally told stories and jokes to make you feel more at ease. It was nice, seeing Master Crepus able to relax. It made you feel all warm and fuzzy how he’d want to spend his time with you.

The veil of night spread over the sky. You bid Crepus farewell.

“You could stay at the winery if you wish.” He offered.

It was rather far from home. You lived alone anyways, it would be quite lonely, sitting in a silent home. You nodded and turned towards the manor. He silently asked permission to grab you by the waist, after your confirmation he snugly held you in a sort of half hug.

The two of you arrived and he hesitated outside of the guest room.

“Thank you for accompanying me.”

“Thank you for the invitation.” You reply with a smile. He kissed your hand softly and walked over to the master bedroom, disappearing for the night.

You awoke with a smile, remembering the acts of last night. You hummed contentedly as you got dressed and walked through the manor. Diluc and Kaeya were both already awake, reading in the family room. When Kaeya caught sight of you he looked excited.

“How did it go?”

Both you and Diluc replied “How did what go?”

“Oh, come on~” Kaeya set down his book and walked over to you. “You know what I’m talking about. Papa was very excited that you went, he put extra effort in his story last night.”

You became flushed and tried to hide the pink on your cheeks. “That? Oh, it was wonderful. But it’s between me and your papa, alright?” You booped Kaeya on the nose and he giggled. “Don’t you two have classes to get to?”

The two boys nodded and dashed off, though you caught a hint of Kaeya whispering something. Couldn’t stop him from gossiping. As usual.

Crepus walked into the family room. “Ah, I was just about to get them.”

“Good morning Master Crepus.” You said meekly.

“Let’s not bother with formalities.” He smiled and gave you another kiss on the hand before carefully grabbing it and pulling you into a dance. Music drafted from somewhere nearby. You had no time to regain your composure, so you just focused on the steps. 1, 2, 3, 4. 1, 2, 3, 4.

Kaeya and Diluc peeked from a doorframe, giggling. You caught their eye and you smiled as their expressions became surprised and the duo dashed away.

“Is something wrong?” Crepus asked.

“No, no of course not.” You looked back at the man and smiled as his gentle expression.

Each day there was something new. He made you breakfast. Bought you gifts. Wrote you letters. Called you “my fawn” or “sweet flower”. You were totally and indefinitely entranced.

You remembered these days with a bittersweet heart as the rain dripped down from your umbrella onto your hands encased with black silk.

You remembered these days during your silent grieving with Kaeya.

You remembered these days when you saw that little velvet box on Crepus’ desk and broke down in sobs. Diluc had found you that day and comforted you, but you could hardly hear him over your throbbing heart.

You looked at the two older boys, turned away from each other. Their world had been torn apart. Your world had been torn apart.

“Can we go play pirates?” You ask with a sob.

I hate how the rdr fandom all simps over Dutch and claims he's done nothing wrong. He did plenty wrong, in source even. And it boils my blood to see fans try to blame the person Dutch is on Hosea. As if Hosea was never the first person to call Dutch out only for Dutch to ignore him!

In my main Annie timeline, Dutch was the worst. He did all the same shit he did in source but before the events of rdr 1 I went out to see dad's grave on my own and we happened to both be out there at the same time and he abducted me and i spent the entirety of the time rdr1 spans with Dutch. During the months spent with him he would talk to me about 1899, the year the gang fell apart and dad and Hosea died. He'd rant and rave about how everyone turned on him and I had dad's journals I know from dad's own mouth and my own memories Dutch was the one that changed and I made the mistake of saying so. That it wasn't my dad that turned on him and he hit me. He quickly apologized and said "I shouldn't have hit you like that you were just a child then, you wouldn't remember. You're just repeating those lies John fed you" as if I couldn't think for myself! Any time he talked about the past with me he would gaslight me. He insisted I call him papa like I did when I was little and got really angry if I didn't. During the big confrontation with John he held me over the cliff and threatened to drop me unless John dropped his guns. I had never been so afraid of him. I thought he might actually do it.

chapter 5 really left me numb and speechless. nothing prepared me for that, you woke up and decided you'd ruin us all today. but okay hear me out, THE BEAUTY OF RECKLESS. (this is me simping for your cute ass and your god-tier writing skills so i'm sorry if the long message bothers you)

but reckless is so heartwrengchingly beautiful. five chapters in and we already have such strong settings and a stable background of all the characters, minus the mysteries of gojo's past we've yet to discover. if i remember correctly, gojo can't go against his mother because he did something wrong in the past and she's using it against him? the manipulation of the characters to tie people up to what they want struck me so much. usually i only read fanfiction for the smut (which you're also an absolute goddess at writing btw) so reckless wasn't really my cup of tea. but after chapter one, i kept moving to the next, and the next, and now i'm left heartbroken after chapter five. i don't think i've ever read something as painful as this before which says a lot because i'm a SUCKER for angst. suki, the way you write, you never fail to blow me away...

i thought reckless was going to be a happy story and i still hope it is, but after chapter five, i'm super excited to see where you'll take us with this. y/n herself is such a complex, human character that is conflicted by her own feelings and goals. honestly, i thought she was pretty annoying that she doesn't give gojo a chance and locks up immediately like gurl...just let him speak ffs, but i'm not actually mad at her because you made us understand her perspective. y/n came from a family background in which love wasn't really what she felt, rather a sense of obligation to provide so she would find a spot. again, this could just be my analysis and i could be wrong, but the way you wrote and pieced them all together as if they were actual human beings going through every day conflicts made me root for the characters more. i still want them to make more babies and fall in love, but now you've given us so much more to look forward to. this is my first time wishing that y/n gets more than love. i wouldn't say she was abused like gojo was (FUCK MAMA GOJO, FUCK PAPA GOJO, FUCK EVERYONE ELSE) but she has her own internal struggles that as someone who preferred to do things my own way because i'm "independently strong" i could see myself in her. the struggles are the same and i was crying a waterfall before i knew it. OVER A FANFIC! ONLY YOU, SUKI, ONLY YOU.

i don't know how you manage to tug at our emotions so effortlessly as if writing the story is an instant way for our hearts to be swayed and pulled side to side, but you are so good at this. i swear. i've been following you for a while now, watched you grow and i'm really proud of you. i hope you know that. i also wish people would stop being so rude to you, you're like the sweetest person here with how you're so patient and welcoming to everyone :(

and suki, gojo...your portrayal of him is CHEF'S KISS, never seen before, really fucked with my mind type of portrayal. he's so well-written and feels so real. i love how he's a kind hearted person but can't care for y/n the way he wants to because his bitch ass mom is getting in his way. the scene over him going against his mother shaped his personality and my respect for him deepened, though i still wish he didn't have to say all those. i know his intentions were good and its his way of "keeping us and the baby safe" but he made me cry so bad i actually felt chest pains. he knew where to hurt us and the way he lied by saying we seduced him and he'll turn the whole world against us when what he wanted to say is the exact opposite really broke me. i'm starting to think that there's more to everyone now than what you've originally shown which makes everything sm better, can't wait for the next update. 

gojo saying "he can't defeat his mother, but he knows you can. you will."

the trust he has for her and the way he believes in her capabilities, i want me a baby daddy gojo 😩 now after seeing the teaser for chapter 6, my theory is that y/n and gojo are going to be the most powerful, baddest couple. king and queens. i don't think y/n will forgive him that easily so i'm hoping gojo explains his side and she listens (y/n please for the love of god hear the poor man out, he's a victim in all this) so they can communicate better. but honestly? you'll do great. i know whatever you post will be so amazing that we will be, once again, left speechless. reckless is so beautiful and painful yet it makes me root for them more. i can't wait for y/n's revenge arc and to see how she and gojo will take over the world someday.
