"Santa's Lil Wonderland" - No CC

UPDATE

Just a small update for Santa's Lil Wonderland!

Unfortunately, I lost some of my progress with Santa's Toy & Workshop after a crash but thankfully I remember what I did so it shouldn't be too difficult to replicate. Psst... the save button is your friend... ;) Anywho, the build is starting to come to life! The cabin is about finished which will include a cozy little sitting area, mini bar and piano downstairs while the upstairs will feature a sauna, massage room, darts and a chess/reading nook.

Feeling Stuck

I decided to experiment with above ground pools in the sims 2. I understand the concept but there is something wrong with my execution. I build the Pool and it looks beautiful and the sims can use the ladder to get in or even the diving board. The action looks a little strange because they shift down since it is on a platform and sometimes, they swim around and sometimes they get stuck, and I have to reset them. Other times I try to fix it and end up breaking it. I have been sitting on my butt for the most part of the day and I think I have some fanny sores because of it HAHA. Anyway, I am at my wits end as to why I cannot get this straight. Here's what happens when I try to fix something in the pool where it maintains its exterior shape, but the water looks all kerfuffled.

So, he can use the diving board, jump in swims a little and then gets stuck and I know that has something to do with the pools depth, but I still cannot get the depth right even though I have figured out how to change the depth without affecting the floor elevation.

I have been trying to figure out how I can get them to stop shifting down when they use the ladder and diving board. I know that has to do with the floor elevation, but I cannot make a connection with the deck and the floor; any other way I try makes the pool look ugly and tacky. If there is someone out there knowledgeable about building above ground pools, please let me know if it is worth it to figure this out or will these problems exist no matter what and I have to decide not to be bothered and reset my sim because to be honest I truly enjoy how the above ground pool looks. They really cannot do much either, they cannot swim at times, and they cannot float on their backs either. :(

Sometimes it works and they swim, however most of the time it does not. If anyone else out there has tried above ground pools, please let me know if this is a common thing in your experience. Thank you in advance so much for anyone who gets back to me. I also have more video footage if you need to see it. I just can't post more than one video in a Tumblr post.

I watched the pool tutorial from Simmergetic and wanted to try it out. I used very little CC but what I did use is included in the download. This house has three bedrooms and 2.5 baths, costing around 75,000 simoleons.

Hi. I've just found your blog and I'm curious how you take photos with all those gorgeous skies/horizons. Are they CC or do you use a graphics program? I'd like such effects, too, in my own pics! :)

 No worries, I figured you meant Sims 2! ^_^ (it’s the only game I play so I wouldn’t be much help to a TS3 or TS4 player anyway, haha!) 

The skies and horizons are cc and I honestly couldn’t imagine my game without them! I’ve gotten wcifs about skydomes before, and they’re all neatly sorted under my WCIF Skydome tag (yes, skydomes are so awesome that they deserve their own tag!), but I’ll list them again (and add a few new ones that cropped up in the meantime and that I hadn’t linked to previously!) :)

(*NOTE: Before you go on a skydome downloading spree, you need to get Simnopke’s Skyfix mod! Without it, your hood skydomes will look like floating sky-colored slabs rather than proper skies!)

Got the Skyfix? Great! Now on to the skydomes:

make it through ONE year of waverly!! we’re only in winter right now, we’ve got another autumn and spring to go!

finish setting up my vaca hoods: lavender town and moonfall bay so they are functional - its been quite an undertaking

be better at converting wall objects bc WHEW BOY its been a whole mess

be better at making unique sims, i am very lazy in cas and pretty much just use the randomizer and go with it.

figure out why on earth my road defaults are not working with my 2nd downtown hood even tho they work in all the other subhoods just fine - super odd and confusing.

1. If you could travel one place in the world where would you travel?

Just…. Just one? That’s not fair. I’d like to visit all continents, to be honest. But from the top of my head: Japan and any country I could see the Northen Lights, so let’s say Norway.

2. What do you do in your free time away from sims?

I Photoshop a lot XD And sleep a lot too. I cosplay from time to time and I’m trying to improve at photography. I’m also trying to keep a few succulents I grew from stolen leaves alive and I might be getting into the OOAK dolls hobby.

(a little shit of a caterpillar wrecked havoc on my Kiwi, yes that little green bitch on the floor. I’m sad.)

3. What other games do you play besides the sims?

My PC can’t take heavy games, I think the most recent stuff I played was the Tomb Raider reboot, the first game. But I like to revisit the Core era games a lot and from time to time play Sonic the Hedgehog and Streets of Rage on my old Sega Mega Drive II games (aka Sega Genesis), mine still works lol If I can’t be bothered to set it all up, I play them on my laptop via emule. Out of PC stuff, Pokemon Go takes my time.

4. How tall are you?

5′4 ish, (161cm). I’m short.

5. One random interest of yours?

Recent interest preciously mentioned, OOAK dolls. You get an old doll and put new hair on it, paint a few face, etc. I’m taking interest in Monster High due to their posability, although they are impossible to find new due to being discontinued and getting increasingly hard to find in second hand in my country because they were never that popular, Barbie is still Queen. But it’s not that I looooove dolls, it’s more out of the interest of making my OCs or making interesting dolls to have something cool to photograph and edit. So they are more a means to an end, almost like the Sims XD

(Don’t judge me, I’m a n00b and I’m trying, ok? :’) )

6. Current favourite bands or artists?

Does the music from the Coffin Dancers Memes count? Because I have that stuck in my head XD Other than that, I can listen to a lot of stuff, I like 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s music a lot, can listen to Celtic Music and next listen to some AC/DC lol My music on my pc is on shuffle all the time. Right now, I’m listening to ERA 2 album (yep, an actual physical CD), it’s a nice background sound for when I need to focus on Photoshop.

7. Something you’re looking forward to?

Nothing, really, I realize. I have some packages coming in that are taking their sweet time (aliexpress stuff) stuck in our customs. Other than that…. for this pandemic thing to end? My life didn’t shift a millimeter because of it for the most part, but it did shot down the plans of going to one of our islands to visit my best-friend in September, so yeah. Oh, oh got one! Pandemic has end so I can go get some sushi! I miss sushi.

8. Current favourite films?

I… haven’t seen any lately. I been sucked daily into that black hole that is Youtube, listening to creepy pastas and missing people channels when I’m not staring at painting (dolls and watercolor) tutorials and DIY stuff. I love Star Wars and Indiana Jones tho.

9.  What food could you not live without?

Pasta and cheese.

10. Favourite series (book or movie series)?

I guess saying Vampire Academy would only be natural by obvious reasons, but although I like the books, I am aware of its flaws, in spite of me being fond Rose, she too is flawed in a few ways. I’d have to say that Sherlock Holmes books, Harry Potter and Terry Practchett’s Discworld (the Witches line of books) come first as a whole.

Recently did some experimentation with the CFE tool and figured out a way to build carports and bridge-like structures with an arched roof! Bit of a headache but after a few hours and a LOT of patience later, I believe I’m getting comfortable enough to show others how it works! Tried recreating it again today to come up with a plan for a tutorial video! Please be patient, as it’s been a minute since I’ve uploaded any videos... but my goal is to get it recorded and edited within the next few weeks.

In the meantime, be on the lookout for a new house I’ll be uploading This will feature the described structure which I’ll be showing you how to do in the tutorial! Here are some first looks:
