#silm #silmarillion #reverse gondolin au #aredhel #lomion #turgon #turgon gets to be ar feinion this time!#and it even works out nicely bc he also wears all white in canon #though here he wears a bit more black but still close enough!#also aredhel is technically both the lord and lady of her House bc she founded it and is therefore the political ruler #but turgon ends up as a de facto lord i guess? he doesnt want an official title but aredhel also does not want to deal with politics #so most of her official duties are more of the ceremonial appearance kind #and then she's back off to shooting orcs #lomion manages the government while shes out #so by the time of her death he already has a lot of political experience

I think my main reason for shipping Caranthir and Haleth is because we need at least one inter-race Tolkien couple where the human is a woman. Like all three canon human-elven pairings it's always the fabulous fae elven beauty and the heroic dude and I'm like... What about a mighty elf-lord and his badass human lady? Hmm? I need this to be a thing and Haleth/Caranthir is the only ship I know of that has that dynamic going for it plus of the middle three sons of Feanor Caranthir is the only one NOT part of the attacks on Luthien... therefore he's the best of those 3
