OKAY This is funny and in order to make it completely random i'll let this league randomizer pick the champions.

So we got: Akali (Oh no) / Gragas / Leona (Mother of the team so far) / Shyvana / Caitlyn.

Okay this is an interesting group and there's more girls i have imagined.

Alright, so, roadtrip. On car. I assume we are talking in a very funny scenario of champions being their clunky selves but with a nowdays car wich is already amusing.

Leona drives clearly, she's responsible, she's a bit of a mom. She has the playful snarkyness and the responsability.

Gragas and Caitlyn argued about getting the copilot seat but Leona ended up picking Gragas.

Gragas IS a passanger princess. He would listen to the gossip, talk gossip about freljordian comrades. He would point to take the left path and then get it wrong so they have to pull back. He eats the snackies and then fall asleep for the 80% of the trip. A true king in my eyes.

Akali is of course the child of married couple in this situation. The 'are we there yet?' 'Im hungry'. Shyvana would try to be modest, not participating much in conversation and trying not to be a bother. Caitlyn is the polite towards the rest of them but Akali rubs her the wrong way wich might make her increase her voice tone. Basically sisters coded. Shyvana being the old sister coded, Caitlyn the middle sister coded and Akali the younger sister coded.

Akali and Caitlyn would fight cause they both want the window seats but Shyvana asked for one of them, eventually she politely agrees to sit on the middle of Akali and Caitlyn.

Here's a small conversation im thinking about:

Akali: God, how long until we get there? We've been here for ages. Leona: I know, i know, but we are almost there. Caitlyn: Leona please slow down, the signs stated a velocity and we are above it. Leona: Oh, right, sorry! Akali: Do not listen to her! There's literally no one on the road we can speed up, it wont do harm! Caitlyn: God you're not only absolutely annoying but you also dont respect authority.

Akali: Fuck your authority you dont even respect it how am i supossed to take you seriously? Caitlyn: Me?! Akali: Because your thing with Vi was surely super legal... Caitlyn, visibly flustered: That's not-!

Gragas, quickly turning his head back to the backseats: Wait what's between you and Vi? I think i fell asleep during the explaination of that.

Leona: Akali, please be respectful, authority and legality are a bit flimsy in Runeterra and there's nothing bad with wanting to endorse it...

Akali: Well, you could say that, assuming your thing with Diana was also not forbidden and that you were'nt breaking any type of rule...? Gragas, quickly turning to Leona: Diana and you what? Im so lost.

Leona, gritting her teeth: How about we all stop talking for a bit and i put some music on the radio... Akali, turning to Shyvana: Arent YOU going to say anything?

Shyvana, on a low voice: Well... I guess what matters is that we arrive safely, i dont mind lowering the speed... Caitlyn: See! She's in my side! Your argumentation is weak!

Akali: Of course i asked damn Jarvan IV girlfriend...

Shyvana, flustered: Prince Jarvan and I's relationship is entirely professional...

Akali: Professional my ass! Gragas: HOLD UP. Please summarize every single ship is happening here cause im not understanding.

Caitlyn: ...whats a ship?

Gragas: Oh like... when two people have like... romantic tension and you think they're a couple...?

Shyvana: Gragas? Could you pass me some chips?

Gragas, handing Shyv a bag of chips.

Shyvana: Oh these are good, what flavour are they?

Gragas, looking at the back of the package: Mustard. Braum recomended me these he said they tasted great.

Shyvana: ...

Caitlyn: What?

Shyvana: Im allergic. Allergic to mustard.

Leona, quickly stopping the car and putting her shield up: COVER UP, QUICK!

Shyvana transforms into a dragon, breaking the car from the inside as she becomes bigger in size.

So... To answer the question: Would they make it to their destination?

Yes. Most likely. Not by car anymore though.

I said it before and I will say it again that Wicked from Boq's perspective is so funny and ofc tragic like everyone else because he goes from liking this one girl to being stuck in a situation with another who becomes the Wicked Witch of the East and takes the rights of him and his people. Then to save his life he is irrevocably changed by the Wicked Witch of the West, (possibly bc book canon?) achildhood friend just to find out that his other college crush ran off from Glinda to be with the Wicked Witch of the West and then died??

He assumes the identity of just the Tin Man, cries and rusts,is found by a kid and a Scarecrow. Probably thinks okay it's fine I could have this romance with the Scarecrow kind of seems similar to me (the vibes of u were not always like this like me) and having to take care of a little girl from a star and a Lion that is afraid of everything. And then finding out that the wizard that everyone holds in high regard is a fake after killing The Witch and then going off with a musical timeline presumably being stuck just with the Lion and possibly Glinda the only other person that knows that also does not know like that is so wild

the thing about bbc merlin is that in many ways it is very tragic, in the sense that so much bad shit that happens could have easily been avoided if charcters had made different choices, hadn't been so wrapped up in prophecies, had trusted people and communicated openly literally ever, just generally got their heads out of their asses. like i know thats the point, they are trying so hard to do the right things and protect people but the story is unavoidable. HOWEVER it is all soooo fucking poorly executed that none of it is effective. so instead of thinking "wow what a tragic story about fate/destiny/whatever" you walk away like "well that fucking sucked for no reason. i hate that fuckass dragon" and i sometimes feel very cinemasins in the way i pick apart the logic but the thing is the show is written in a way that makes the characters come off as so stupid and always making terrible choices rather than like. tragic victims of circumstance.

So like love rivals, okay. You know the type, hyperfeminine alpha bitch that cares too much about her appearance (unlike the protag who is beautiful but doesn't care about it or doesn't care too much and is just feminine enough because god forbid we have an actually gnc woman as protagonist). My problem is that I watched Lizzie McGuire at a tender, very impressionable age and my favorite episodes where the ones that dealt with Lizzie and Kate's estranged friendship and gave the later some depth (they should kiss btw) it wasn't perfect but I was like 5 and it was something.

I do love a vain character, so this is an archetype I gravitate towards. And like I don't actually expect them to get rehabilitated every time, there are awful women who weaponize their femininity irl, it's a whole thing. But by god, the misogyny and double standards that usually surround these characters are uh, bad, really bad.

I watched Sugar Apple Fairy Tale (don't, its handling of slavery is not good), and naturally, my favorite character was Bridget bc she was far more interesting than anyone else. Like yeah, coercing Challe into being her slave is horrible, but there was something about the resentment she felt at her own gender-derived powerlessness and how she misdirected it at another woman because she gets to have what she doesn't and it isn't fair, and how she consoles herself by exerting power over the only person she can have power. You could really do something interesting with that and talk about systemic issues but instead she just kept being portrayed as spoiled and naive with barely any judgment passed on the people that put her into this situation. She's still portrayed with sympathy, but her potential is entirely wasted. And I cannot stress enough that as bad as her actions are, when the men around her take Challe away from her they still hold him hostage so Anne will be forced to help them. They do not see Challe as any more of a person than Brigett does and yet the narrative portrays them in a far better light.

In my perception manganime is more willing to throw this type of character as bone than in anglo media, which kinda make sense given than making friends with rivals in general shows up in all kinds of genres. Even so, it just doesn't feel like enough. Not to say that stuff that does right by this kind of character doesn't exist and I definitely need to check out more but you have to sit through so much

Which leads me to my point, which is that I would expect the villianess genre to be the perfect ground to explore this kind of character and the misogyny attached to it but it just... doesn't do that. Even when it'sa yuri. We get some stuff about how the villianess is misunderstood but that's kind of it??? And he worst ones just cast Someone Else (usually the original game protag) as The Bitch whixj is like... okay, there's no subversion here. You just wrote a typical romance plot. Like maybe it's because it's too focused on an hyperspecific character archetype that doesn't actually exist so it has nothing to build on, but aaaaah. There has to be one that does what I want, there has to.

Anyway, I'm only rambling and don't really have a point except that Princess Tutu is the best anime ever made and why am I looking for more stuff when Princess Tutu already exists.
