Ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau, born in 1910, grew up in the French village of Saint-André-de-Cubzac, became a captain in the French Navy and served during World War II. He served as a spy in World War II and then in the French Resistance. After the war he converted a British minesweeper into the research ship Calypso and devoted much of his time to exploring the world's seas. Cousteau revealed the mysteries of the ocean through his work - he was one of the first to suggest that whales use echolocation to navigate!-and stressed the importance of protection. He introduced the wonders of the ocean to the public with his famous program Jacques Cousteau's Submarine World and his Oscar-winning documentary Silent World.🇫🇷

imagine being a gavinners fan from like wisconsin or some other place like that. vermont idk and they announce a world tour, so you buy tickets for the nearest location. and they start off in LA, their home city, makes sense.

but then you get an email that says NEVERMIND and you get an immediate refund on cashapp. and you look it up and apparently someone was fucking shot at the first concert and klavgav got set on fire and the bassist went to jail for drug smuggling and murder charges. and now they’re announcing a breakup. what do you even do with that fucking onslaught of information

i really got into rain world about a year ago this month, with one of my first ever pieces of fanart being drawn on june 30th 2023. i didn’t even know much about the game/lore at the time (hence why saint’s eyes are open). 

i decided to redraw it after a year, since it is fun to see the improvement— even if the 2024 rendition took 10 times as long, which kind of skews the point a bit.
