I think we should talk more about the mysgony when it comes to parents in media, and how fathers are favoured and praised for the most the most basic shit while mothers are demonised for making mistakes or being bad. This is gonna be a long one, buckle up.
I hate Mrs Rosehearts as much as the next guy, but it's unfair that Mr Rosehearts is not given similar criticism for allowing his wife to treat Riddle the way he does. I hardly see people bring him up apart from mentioning that Riddle's parents probably have an unhappy marriage, and some people say something along the lines of "poor Mr Rosehearts, struggling with a wife like that".
Of course, we don't know enough about his character to gauge how Mrs Rosehearts treats him, bit it's clear he just passively stands to the side when it comes to whatever Mrs Rosehearts wants to do with Riddle. That itself is very harmful and it's own form of abuse, imo.
The same applies to Alador Blight from the Owl House. He's praised for being a wonderful dad that finally came through and stood up to his "horrible wretched bitch of a wife" (who, if she was a guy, would probably have more people analysing her and trying to find ways to sympathise with her just saying)..
And while, yes, he did stand up to her and that's a good thing, the general consensus is he was a brilliant dad from the start that was held back by his wife's wicked ways. But... that's not true? His first appearance is him telling Amity to stop being friends with Willow. He ignores his children constantly, and, like Mr Rosehearts, stands passively to the side when Odaliah treats her children like her property.
He's a neglectful parent at best and just as concerned with image and status at Odaliah at worst. But... that stuff is just forgotten. Most people just say "we thought he was bad but it turns out he was manipulated by his wife". He is HIS OWN PERSON. You cannot just blame everything on his "evil manipulative wife" (which is also smt that sometimes happens irl when both parents are abusive). He is still fully capable of making his own decisions.
And again, it's unfortunate, but if Odaliah were to be given his treatment or if Alador were a woman, the general response would be "That's sad but not an excuse! I can't believe she was forgiven!"
The worst I can think of atm, is Silco and Vi from Arcane. Now ofc they're not married. But the circumstances are similar.
Silco is praised to the high heavens for being one of the best dads in animation (#1 goes to Doofenshmirtz ofc, which I agree with) and the reasons for this are because he... shows his care, puts Jinx first, and loves her. Wow. Fucking groundbreaking am I right. The bar is soooo high/s
The thing is, Jinx is a child soldier. She works for Silco, protects his shipments of Shimmer, takes out the enemies that need taken out, etc. He found her as a young child, and when we cut to the present, she's murdering people without so much as flinching, even delighting in it, and suffering badly from trauma and hallucinations.
Obviously, Jinx was not given the care she needed, and was instead trained to assist Silco.
Am I denying Silco loves her? Of course not! He clearly does. But that's just not good enough. He's a loving dad, but not a good one. He's not the father that neither Jinx nor Powder needed.
Meanwhile, we have Vi. Vi loves Powder, protects her, cares for her, tries to keep her out of harm, stands up for her, and so on. She cares so deeply for Powder, and you can see it. The moment she got out of prison, her first goal was to find Powder.
However, because she hit Powder once, and shouted at her, she's apparently an abusive monster who never cared about Powder. Reminder, she hit Powder because her entire family was killed in front of her and then she learned Powder was the reason that happened. She was like... 14? And she immediately left to calm down. She did not abandon Powder, she left to take a breather because she realised she was too angry. And when she came back, she was drugged and arrested.
Silco is a grown adult who purposefully flooded the streets of the Undercity with a highly addictive drug, turned Powder into a soldier, and is generally a terrible person, even if he is a three dimensional amd well written antagonist.
Vi started the story as a teenager suffering poverty and discrimination just like Silco, had to deal with her own parents death, then her adoptive family was killed in front of her, and then she was forcefully taken from her sister. And yet, people are convinced Vi is a terrible and abusive sister who never loved Powder?
The only example worse than this, methinks, is Stella and Stolas from Helluva Boss.
Stella is a shitty mother who ignores her daughter, which the the audience is shown via a scene were Octavia is having a nightmare and she tells Stolas to deal with it. She frequently screams and swears at Stolas and throws things at him, with no regard for her daughter's presence or feelings.
This is pretty terrible, right? Of course! Everyone knows Stella is a horrible mother.
Stolas on the other hand, is praised for being such an loving and caring father, who tries his best. He even has a song with Octavia!
Well, he also: openly talks about having sex with Blitz and how much he likes it while she was right there, told her people want her money and her body, generally doesn't pay much attention to her either bc he's wallowing about Blitz not loving him back, and doesn't give her feelings much regard.
And yet, the misogyny extends beyond just Stella because people generally agree that Octavia is ungrateful and doesn't appreciate Stolas enough. They get mad at her for disliking the fact that Stolas is cheating on her mother with an imp who's been nothing but rude to her and ruining their family further, and even mock her for feeling unloved. Hell even Brandon, one of the creators, has allegedly recently called her a "cockblocking slut" which, frankly, is a disgusting thing to say about a 17 year old girl.
Idk man I'm just tired.

i have a love-hate relationship with Silco like i hate him for everything hes done but god "Is there anything so undoing as a daughter" gets to me every time like NOW HE GETS IT
He is the BEST worst dad. He broke the Lanes beyond repair by inventing the job position of "drug lord". He killed and betrayed until there was no one left to kill and betray. He feels no remorse, there is nothing he wouldn't do on his path of ambition... But he would take it all back, he would send all his dreams and ambitions down the river, for his daughter. The same daughter he is repeatedly traumatizing and separating from any healthy impulses she still has left. Because he loves her so so so much and he wants to make her strong enough to endure the world, the way he himself had to become, but also because he desperately wants her to be exactly like him so that he would no longer be so alone. WHO IS DOING IT LIKE SILCO

Quick rant bc I love Silco but I'm not too big a fan of people saying he was a good or bad father. The man was "okay"? He loved her and anyone who disagrees with that clearly didn't watch the show, and he did NOT create Jinx or manipulate her into becoming Jinx, but he certainly didn't do much to stop it from happening.
I can say with confidence that he cared abt her and loved his daughter to death but I can also say that his biggest downfall was enabling her. He never held her accountable for her actions, he blamed her fuck ups on everyone else, and the one time he did get mad at her, she didn't take him seriously and it was VERY easy to difuse him. From what we saw there was no "Okay this is helpful but do NOT go out murdering any more topsiders.", he just immediately dismissed it. I can't help but feel like if Jinx didn't diffuse him he still would've just sighed it off and walked away to go fix it himself like he had to do with the rest of the trouble she caused...... that he also dismissed.
I GET his possible thought process, don't get me wrong, he didn't want her to feel rejected or unloved, being the yes-man and never making her *know* she fucked up was probably his way of never letting her feel like she actually was a jinx. She did nothing but ruin his plans, she wasn't helpful to him in the slightest but he still blamed her actions on Sevika, took care of it himself, or ignored it. He didn't view her as an employee, he viewed her as his very rejection-sensitive daughter and he didn't want to risk hurting her.. but in doing so she kinda became ignorant to the value of human life and it definitely didn't help her control her mood swings, since she was never taught that her lack of self-control is why things go so poorly for her.
YES he loved her, and he fucked her up even more on accident bc he didn't want to hurt her, but that is still not good parenting. You can love someone and still be a shitty parent. He even used his last dying words to make sure that his death wouldn't haunt her. He even tried to make his *death* less of a consequence than it was.
With that being said, he still made her feel loved and wanted, he still took care of her, beyond the bare minimum of feeding her and housing her he took the extra time to make sure she was enriched and that he gave her as good of a support system as he could provide (ex. trying to help her overcome her trauma as Powder before he even knew Vi was still alive) he literally trusted her enough to put a needle in his eye and then struggled to do it himself when she wasn't around. He was not the worst dad, he was not the best dad.

EXACTLYY ABOUT THE SILCO AND JINX THING!!! like, im not saying he was the best person or father ever (he was a good father in that he knew what jinx needed, but raising her as his kind of lieutenant in the mafia was obviously not a good move lol) but saying he never loved her or cared for her???? like did we watch the same show????
i never doubted for a SECOND that he loved her, but i understand people probably weren't sure during act 2 and okay, that makes sense. but STILL claiming he doesn't love her after watching season 1? what the fuck.
if he dgaf about her, he shouldn't even be keeping her around. we are told repeatedly that jinx is messing up his business (failing to guard shimmer cargo, riling up the chembarons and even causing SEVIKA to doubt silco as a leader etc). pray tell, if he doesn't care about her why the fuck doesn't he just..kill her?
but thats not all, no. because its so fucking obvious silco loves jinx you have to watch the series with your eyes and ears closed to not get it. the bridge scene where he carries her? even tho he has his underlings with him?? going to singed?? that entire scene???
him literally giving up his dream of an independent zaun TO PROTECT HER???? COMFORTING HER AS SHE LITERALLY KILLS HIM????
genuinely, anyone who thinks silco doesn't genuinely love jinx by the end of season 1 is a fucking moron.
from a couple months ago but basically yes silco and jinx are so unspeakably important to me !!!! forever and ever will i stand on the fact that silco loved her. he loved her so much.
regardless of the mom linkage they tried to pull in season two-jinx was his girl. like its been said but jinx was a lot more trouble than itd be worth for him to keep her around and he did anyway. over and over again he picked her over anything else. and now im supposed to believe that its all manipulation? he never cared? to what end?
silco is not like that. empty manipulations for personal satisfaction. which is why he'd be doing it if these people are right. theres no political benefit or benefit for what he was doing for zaun. she was actively getting in the way. so that leaves just for kicks. lemme manipulate this lil girl for fun and maybe get back at vander in the process. that's not silco. there's no gain there.
people just don't want to believe that a man seen as evil can have soft spots or be a good dad. like you can argue that silco's a bad dad fine (i completely disagree but you can argue) but to say he doesn't love her is insane.
and for the bad dad-he's really not 😭 you can disagree with his methods but its not like he himself had therapy. for his own traumas there were things that worked for him, that kept him alive. and he imparted that to her because he loved her and wanted to keep her alive as well. i dont even think what he was saying was entirely wrong. flawed 100% yeah but its not the worst. he helps her to feel useful. to not look down on herself or her abilities. he encourages her need to create and build unlike before where they kept telling her to stop and leaving her behind. the wounds that she had, he tried to heal as best as he could.
because he understood her and he loved her. i go so insane about them. the best father daughter duo. i literally cry every time i think about them for too long, every time i talk about them. every time i see them on screen. she needed him and he was there for her in a way that vander wasn't. i mean the one scene of vander and jinx solo they don't even speak. vander was distracted with a clear favorite and silco made her his priority. i love him. i love them both so much.
#my asks#i could go all day but then id start repeating myself#point is that i feel you 100%#and those people make me so angry i feel it like an ache in my chest#arcane#silco#jinx

My Thoughts on Arcane Season 1 and it’s characters.
—————————
My views on the show itself:
Arcane is one of my favorite animated series if not my all time favorite. The plot, scenery, and the art is so unique and beautiful done. It’s well done for the hard work put into it and I’m very excited for the release of episode 1 of season 2 and to see how both the stories and characters have progressed.
My favorite things in the show:
•The voice acting, each voice actor captures the essence of each character and how the emotions are meant to be perceived.
•Character arcs and development, each character is uniquely different not only by the designs in the shows progression, but also by the personalities and mental states of the characters.
•Representation of mental illness or mental health, the characters don’t really go through the mental illness issues, but visibly and through dialogue in the show where we can see how stable our characters are.
•The relationships between characters, I find that character relationship developments and clashes are really important to a plot. They made sure that these characters had very specific feelings towards other characters and that certain characters clashed a certain way.
———————————
My views on each character:
Jinx (Powder):
She is a very complicated character who’s suffering from psychosis ,but to be specific: BPD, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Survivors guilt, and Psychopathy. She is good comedic but also emotional pacing of the show. (Personally wish I can give this poor girl a hug).
Vi:
She is also a complex character who is somewhat hot head ,but knows when to keep her cool. She is a good character to watch doing most of the action, but the emotional parts are hard to watch between her and her sister Jinx (Powder). The worst to watch was for Vi to keep referencing Jinx as Powder and trying to get “Powder” back. Yet Powder was gone and jinx was wanting Vi to accept her for her changes. Vi not fully understanding continued to get her old sister back ,but got the ending of season 1 because of her misunderstanding of what jinx wanted from her.
Caitlyn:
Caitlyn was a good comedic relief when collabed with Vi, but they also make a good relief with their chemistry. The only thing is, it that her character didn’t really draw me in as some of the other characters.
Jayce:
He was essential for the plot ,but god i can’t find a character I dislike more. He is extremely negligent to the safety of others, this is in reference to Victor ,but also when giving Vi (Who is A CRIMINAL ) weapons which could lead to mass destruction.
Victor:
He is also can be considered negligent for his use of shimmer on his own body and even when tampering with magic in such a way that can cause harm to him and to others. He is a very compelling character and incredibly charming through the show when clashing with Jayce as characters.
Silco:
The Handsomest man and needs Best dad award. Thats all I have to say. Lmao.
Ekko:
(the realest mf) He is a really cool character with a awesome character design and personality when clashing with other characters such as Vi which he acts like a hard headed brother and with Jinx he acts like his younger self playing with a bestfriend ,but with a more aggressive approach now because of all the changes that happened after Vi got locked up, Vander died, and Silco took control of the undercity.
Overall:
Again over time my opinions might change if I were to rewatch again ,but this is my opinions for the time being until then, let me know if you agree or have your own opinions.

that flashback scene was at best horrible fan service and at worst an average reader insert concept. it makes no sense in a narrative perspective because the riot on the bridge happen when vi and powder were old enough to remember the people around them, especially their good old family friend silco who seems to be super closed to their mom.
so why in season one did vi seem to question who silco was? or none of them ever bring up "hey remember how we used to hang out all together, you, our mom, and dad, and vander??"

I Only Wanted to Protect You
Sorry for the long wait...I thought I posted this part already
“I will tell you more when a certain someone isn’t eavesdropping.” Y/N looked in Powder’s direction with a smile.
Silco watched as Y/N finished cooking, finding himself glancing at the clock. He wanted to continue their conversation privately but as they sat down to eat, it seemed like this child had endless energy. Powder talked the most during dinner as Silco and Y/N stole glances with one another. There was something about her that he couldn’t get out of his head from the first time he saw her walking home. It made him feel weak, she made him feel weak. Everything she did made him intrigued, she seemed mysterious and it had been awhile since something or someone intrigued him enough to put his own wants to the side. Right now what he desperately wanted was for the kid seated next to him to leave, but instead he just nodded his head along with her story. After what felt like an eternity, Powder got up from the table and flopped down onto Y/N’s bed, leaving the adults alone.
“Now, Powder. It’s quite late and its time for you to head down to bed.” Y/N sweetly called to the young girl. “You know as much as I do that I don’t have room up here for the both of us.”
“Oh come on Y/N. Please, just for tonight. I don’t want to be alone down there.”
“Not tonight Powder. A lot has happened that I’m still not filled in on, I need to talk with Silco.” Y/N’s face hardened, a look Powder knew too well.
“Fine.”
Powder headed to the front door, turning back once more to give one last go with her puppy dog eyes in Y/N’s direction. Her eyes meet the stern look from both adults who were standing in kitchen area. She turned away, clearly defeated and headed down to bed.
Y/N felt anxiety bubbling in her stomach as she began to clear the dishes from the tiny table in front of her. Silco didn’t seem in a rush for her to finish her story about Viktor, which she appreciated. Just the thought of him angers her and over the years she had tried her best to forget him. She wanted to pretend that she was always from the Lanes and had never met the man. Try as she might, her mind still wonders to him every now and then. It usually came after drinking more than she would like to admit as her loneliness creeps over her while she lays in bed. She would think about the what ifs that have nagged at her mind over the last few years. Mostly her thoughts would always wonder why he never came looking for her. She knew why she didn’t go to Piltover looking for him, she knew she would look out of place the moment she crossed the bridge. She also wondered if he even knew what happened to her after he left, her worst fear was that he didn’t care.
Silco sat quietly as he watched her every movement as Y/N continued her quiet clean up. His eyes narrowed as she grabbed a bottle of whiskey and two glass has she headed towards the small couch that was nestled under the small window. She set the glasses on the window sill as she pours both of them a drink.
“Now that she’s gone, where were we?” Y/N’s voice broke the silence that had fallen between them.
“I believe you were answering my questions.” Silco rose from his chair at the table, making his way to join her on the couch, “I didn’t take you for a whiskey drinker.”
Y/N felt a smile begin to form on her face, “It was the only thing my dad drank.” She let out a small laugh, “I didn’t have much else to sneak as a teen. Not like my dad didn’t notice, I think he was just happy that I was doing something a normal teen did.”
“I did worse at that age.” Silco sipped from his glass, eyes meeting hers.
“That doesn’t surprise me.” She let a small laugh as she brought her own drink to her lips. “From what I heard, it’s much worse.”
A quick smile formed on Silco’s once stoic face, “What did you hear exactly?”
Y/N felt her face grow warm. “All kinds of things…,mainly not to trust you.”
“Let me guess.” his smile faded and his eyes narrowed, “Vander told you that one.”
Y/N looked into his eyes as she allowed a small, reassuring smile to form, “Yes. But, it was coming from the man who lied about his deal with the Enforcers.”
Silco shifted in his seat, intrigued by her comment. “You knew of that?”
“I overheard his conversation with that Enforcer lady. I can hear a lot through the floor.”
“You eavesdropped?”
Y/N shrugged, smile growing larger on her face, “Not on purpose. I was just trying to rest before the late shift. I blame it on them being loud. I don’t see the harm in listening, that’s how I knew where Vi ran off too.”
Silco sat back, resting one arm on the back rest of the couch, legs crossed. “And you didn’t stop her? Aren’t you a makeshift parental figure.”
“They’re Vander’s problem not mine. I’m not their mom,” she laughed, “I just needed a place to live.”
“You didn’t like them?”
“I’m not saying that, it’s more that I’m not ready for that type of responsibility. Vi and the boys didn’t need a mother figure, they needed Vander’s approval. But Powder does. She needs a bit more support and love. She’s the one I was worried about, Vander and her never meshed. I don’t think he knew how to meet her needs.” Y/N sipped her drink as she leaned back against the arm rest.
“She has potential.”
Y/N smiled, “She really does but she insists on being just like Vi.”
Silence fell over them for a long while. Neither of them feeling the need to break it, both seating back and enjoying each other’s company. Both sipping on their drinks as Y/N glanced out the window to the streets below.
“Are you originally from the Lanes?” she asked, breaking the silence as she poured more whiskey into her cup.
“Born and raise.” Silco said as he reached his glass out to be refilled. “And you?”
“I moved here at seventeen.” Y/N answered as she poured his drink.
“Seventeen?” Her age surprising him. “Your parents were okay with that?”
“If they were alive, probably not.” She felt the sadness bubble up, “I moved here after my dad died.”
Silco’s face fell, “No one stopped you?”
“Well, Octavis was busy with my dad’s business and my only friend had moved.” Silco remained silent as she continued, “My dad died the same day he left for Piltover. I don’t even think he knows and I couldn’t bring myself to go looking for him.” she lied. “I was supposed to take over my dad’s shop when he died but I couldn’t get myself to do it. I let my dad’s apprentice take it over, shit I even gave him the house.”
She let out a light laugh as she brought her own drink to her lips. Glancing up at the man seated in front of her. She felt stupid for rambling on about her past but once she started she couldn’t stop. It had been seven years since she talked openly about her previous life. It was like she opened a floodgate of memories and emotions that she had pushed down for years.
“Sorry.” Y/N awkwardly laughed as she pulled her legs to her chest, “Didn’t mean to be a downer.”
“Why the Lanes?” Silco sipped his own drink, eyes narrowed.
“I knew no one would come looking for me here.” She looked out the window. “And no one has.”

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Vander was never really Powder's dad, just Vi's, and a little Claggor and Milo's. Vander, while meaning well, put all of the responsibility of raising a baby Powder onto Vi, making himself more of an uncle-at-best figure, and while that's great, it meant that Powder was still without family. Claggor was nice, but very withdrawn, and Mylo (I don't give a fuck that he was like, 14) was a dickhead. He literally became the voice in her head insulting her, stalking her, bullying her just as he did when he was alive. The only real family that Powder had left after her parents died was Vi. And she lost her. She needed someone to cling to, to be there for her. We all know she's got underlying mental health issues, and has done from the start (the way she doesn't really react to her parents death - though this could be shock, the way she has a complete fucking break down at the thought of being left behind, just how out of control her emotions are et cetera). She needs someone to be there for her. I'm not saying that Jinx and Silco's relationship was healthy, God knows they fed off each other's worst parts, but they meant well. Silco loved her, the only thing he loved besides Zaun. And she loved him, the family she (neither of them) had.
So yes, while Vander was both of the girl's dad in the way that he semi-raised them, Silco was way more of a dad to Jinx than Vander was.
Vi and Jinx both lost their father…..

Writers block? Quick write about something you're passionate about
InFoDuMp
I personally have been learning to embroider and repair clothes, What about you?
-Oldie 🧶🧵
Good evening Oldie 🧶🧵!
EMBROIDER AND REPAIRING CLOTHES SOUNDS SO COOL, I tried my hand at embroidery but it hasn't gone too well but practice helps ya get better bit by bit!
I like to jokingly refer to myself as an Ace of many hobbies [like jack of all trades but with Ace and hobbies]
I HAVE MANY THINGS I'M VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT, Art, yarn, crochet, candle making, as one could guess from my blog writing and other things I can't remember at the moment
Most recently though I've been trying to crochet a plushie for my online friend who's flying down this summer, they have a OC who has a pet pig and I'm crocheting the pig! The yarn I'm using is soft but it has like an odd texture to work with so I have to wear gloves or I'll want to cry, but it's worth it for my friend I've been crocheting for almost a year now but I still can't do too much like certain stitches or a magic circle, MAGIC CIRCLES ARE THE WORST RAAAAA, I really want to learn how to make a strawberry stitch
Strawberries are lowkey my whole brand on my main blog and socials and I love em' a lot, don't tell my friends but I actually prefer mangos a little bit more then strawberries. THE STRAWBERRY STITCH CAN ALSO BE USED TO MAKE PUMPKINS, I love pumpkins, anyways IMAGINE A LIL' BAG WITH THAT PATTERN IT'D BE SO CUTE
granny squares are also the bane of my existence I'm making a sweater that uses them, it was supposed to be for my birthday, my birthday was months ago, maybe I can wear it for my 19th! It took me a bit to learn all the abbreviations for crocheting, for example this list
I usually [pardon my wording] bullshit my way through making plushies or anything really.
So far I've crocheted two dinos, a several octopuses [I've given em' to my family, my dad keeps one in his car!] A shark, a standing cow, a couple of blankets [two completed and one incomplete, the last one was supposed to be for my late dog but unfortunately he passed away before I could finish it and I haven't quite worked up the confidence to finish it but we're planning on adopting another dog soon so maybe I could finish it for them? I don't know I don't want my dog to think I'm betraying him or anything.] I made two pillows, a few of those little mini crochet Pinterest ghosts for some younger family members of mine [they loved em'!] And an among us character that appears and disappears at random
Here are some of them! The dinosaur is a present for my best friend's birthday, they haven't picked it up yet [Moony if you're somehow reading this, don't mind the weird parts of this blog and also DO NOT PROCEED THIS IS A SURPRISE]
[Don't mind my nails, I have a bad habit of biting]
As you can tell they aren't perfect but I'm improving! I liked crocheting the hooves for the little cow.
I'm also making a mushroom hat for renfair! I'm cosplaying one of my OCs and she's a mushroom themed fay/elf thing that sells shady stuff from her stand. I burned my finger while working on it like a second degree burn [DO NOT LIGHT GLUE STICKS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO GO IN A GLUE GUN ON FIRE, BAD IDEA.] So until I'm healed it's on pause but it should be done by the end of the month so I'm excited about that! I used cardboard as a base and then bendable wire to get the shape I wanted and then I put fabric over it, glued it and put the bottom layer of fabric on the bottom and then covered it with pearls, white spots and little details I'm gonna add more when I'm healed.
I got this candle making kit for Christmas that has a little transportable stove and I haven't gotten the chance to use it yet so I'm planning to make some candles this soon I'm gonna make some themed off of characters to give to my friends! I made my best friend a Silco from arcane themed candle for Christmas last year I think? Or the year before that, I cut a silhouette of the character into vinyl and stick it on the glass part of the candle, Might make a Stardew valley themed one for me, my friend likes blue lock [I think that's the name?] So might make a blue lock candle or one based off of their OC, and might make either a bluey one for my best bud or a game character they like,
I tend to use soy wax as it's the cheapest I can get and it's highly recommended I think, be careful on what you put in your candles [like dried flower petals, leaves etc etc] they can and will catch on fire and BAM SOMEONES ON FIRE.
This is more rambling then info dumping, I don't know how to info dump properly, I remember rambling about Flappers ago, I would copy paste it here but the majority of it is me referring to the wikipedia and taking bits from it to quote and then telling my friends that I got it from the wikipedia.
Anyways thank you for listening that helped a bunch! Time to write!

Perfect
Dad!Silco×Mom!Reader×Baby!Jinx
Pure tooth rotting fluff. SFW. Reader lactates and was pregnant with Jinx so pretty heteronormative? Tried not to use pronouns for reader and will do my best to be gender neutral in the future.
This is my first lil fic/drabble/imagine literally ever so pls pls pls be nice:)) ♡
Silco had always found you breathtaking in any light, from any angle. To his shame, that was the first thing he noticed about you. You were painfully attractive to him, as if you had sunk your dresden claws into his chest and dug out his beating heart as soon as the two of you had locked eyes. He had not expected your wit and intellect, your charm and perseverance to crush that heart to a quivering pulp. Even less did he expect your intense kindness and bewildering mutual adoration for him to mend it all together, until his heart was back in his chest, beating away happily, polished and shining with a finish it had never possessed before.
All this being said, there was something particularly devastating about the way you looked now, holding the precious infant the two of you shared to your breast. She suckled happily, lazily gazing up at you on the verge of sleep. You were in the corner, sitting in an armchair angled towards the large window behind his desk, just right of where he sat now, notes and paperwork completely forgotten. The soft green light emanating from that circular pane drenched you in an almost ethereal glow as you stared through the window before you, absentmindedly watching the bustling streets below and occasionally looking down to caress the cheek of your little one.
The sight made Silco want to cry.
You and that sweet little girl, whose powder blue hair remained a mystery to the both of you, were the reason he was still fighting. Still scratching and clawing and biting his way towards the free nation of Zaun. He would give anything and everything for the two of you to feel the sun on your faces, to see the streams of sunlight currently reserved for the blood soaked tops of Piltover finally light up your eyes.
Your hair curled gently around the nape of your neck as you shifted to peer down at baby Jinx, who with a full belly and a conscious so clear it could only be a child's, had drifted off to sleep in your loving arms.
He did not want to keep you shut away in the dark. Silco's love and their only child deserved to shine with the brilliance he knew the two of you had. Zaun was well on it's way to coming into it's own, but he knew the sins of his past lurked at every corner. The free city he had given his very soul to build would not remain loyal, would not remember him kindly. Silco had long ago accepted that he was the villain of this story, that the sacrifices he had made in order to see his people liberated in this lifetime were not all his to make.
He just hoped he would never be asked to choose between you and Zaun.
The nation would never survive his abandonment.
You must've felt his gaze on you as you adjusted your top to cover yourself. Your mouth curved into a gentle smile, as full of love as it was of mirth.
"Silco, my love. You know its impolite to stare."
Silco let out a breathy chuckle, rising slowly from his desk and rounding it to stand behind your chair. He leaned forward, wrapping his arms around your front and tucking his chin into your neck. He looked down at Jinx sound asleep in your embrace as you leaned your cheek into his.
"I love you."
Yours had not been an easy pregnancy, at least not by the third trimester. Jinx, light of his life that she was, had been a bit of a hellion inside you, kicking and squirming to her little heart's content. Although neither of you could exactly blame her for this, she had you in an almost constant state of discomfort on the best of days. On the worst, you could hardly hold yourself upright, cradling your swollen belly and trying hard not to groan at the pain.
There was a day when Silco walked into his office to find you bracing yourself on the windowpane, head curled down with your lip between your teeth, tears streaming silently down your face. You had less than a month to go at that point, and Silco had rushed to you with fear jolting through his veins like ice. Asking you what was wrong, rambling about sending for Singed, turning you to him and cupping your face in his hand while smoothing your hair with the other.
"She just won't stop kicking." You had whimpered quietly, "she's hitting my ribs and it's just really uncomfortable, I'm sorry."
Silco could've laughed had you not been in pain. Leave it to you to apologize for your own misery.
"You needn't apologize, sweetness." He cooed, "let me see if I can help."
Swiftly, he pulled your back flush to his chest, tucking his chin into the crook of your neck. You wrapped your hands around his forearms as he rubbed your stomach a few times before sliding them down to the underside of your bump. He interlaced his fingers to cradle the bottom of your belly. He could feel Jinx wriggling around and made a note to give her grief for it when she was older.
"Lean into me." He had whispered.
You immediately did, ever pliant to his will and trusting of his intentions. He lifted gently as to take some of the weight off of your aching muscles. You sighed with relief as the strain of your daughter's body was lifted slightly off of your legs. After a moment, you gasped and Silco could feel the tension melt out of your shoulders. Jinx had settled, no longer drumming against your ribcage with her tiny feet.
"Better?"
You had turned to kiss his cheek and your hand went back into his hair. Silco's heart bloomed.
"Completely."
Five months later and there you sat, curled up in the chair he had bought for you, looking at him like he had hung the moon. You hummed at his confession and tucked Jinx a bit tighter into her blanket. She was perfect. You were perfect.
"Oh Silco, I'm sure I love you more."

Actually now that I think about it, there would be something kind of sad/funny/ironic that it's still the explosion that bring them back together. Silco is like "what hAPPENED you FOOL, can't you reign in your kids TWO seconds", then Vander sends another letter, longer, more sentimental that it has ever been-- explaining that Vi is more important to him, peace is more important to him, and that will not change, therefore he is going to surrender to the enforcers, and will Silco--
He knows that Silco's work is not glamourous, downright ugly and dangerous -- but still who else could he entrusts with Zaun fully? Benzo can help with the kids, although they'll be upset, and enraged, and Silco might have to deal with this, but the city was always theirs, wasn't it? All its people their people.
For once in his life, Silco arrives too late at the bar in a fury; They had an agreement, albeit silent: they work together. This works if they are both together. This feels like Vader trying to deflect all other again. This feels like Vader is trying to kill the shadow of relationship they'd built back. it's UNACCEPTABLE. But Vader has already been taken, the kids are already planning some folly, and there is only little Powder left at the bar, furious and upset at being left behind as well.
Silco takes one look at this child and he's gone for and barks "Come on, child. We're saving your oaf of a father." after Powder explains in angry tears about her siblings plans.
(Meanwhile: something something, Vi/Claggor/Mylo end up in Piltover meeting lil Caitlyn and/or maybe Viktor and Jayce in trying to sneak back into Piltover to find a way to save their dad? Vander spends several weeks in prison and remembers that enforcers are the worst and he hates all of it and god, maybe Silco is right--)
Anyway, Vander is rescued, Silco tries to be all Smooth Villain Rescuing The Hero Only For His Selfish Purpose but then again he's got Powder hanging from his shoulders and she's BEAMING at Vander going "Silco and I DID THIS, we SAVED YOU, Silco is so nice and he told me you were BEST FRIENDS, can we all live together please"
Silco and Vander spending years as bitter enemies, with now wildly different ideals on how to get their city respected/at peace/freed, etc. and .... still having the annoying and absolute realization that they still won't achieve anything if the other is gone;;
Vander is the first one who makes it obvious, the day someone tries to attack Silco and he and his people show up to beat them up get them to fuck off. It leads to the first time seeing each other again since Vander tried to kill Silco himself, and it's NOT good, but they also still know each other best, still can read each other's gaze, etc.
Silco's way to "protection" is much more subtile, mostly because Vander has become the peaceful face of Zaun, sort of (how ironic), rather than the symbol of its freedom, but it still happens -- generally it's taken care of in shadows.
Eventually, of course, it becomes... sensible to communicate in SOME fashion. Sevika agrees the first few times to be a placeholder - then she grows annoyed and tell them to grow the fuck up; so they start sending letters again -- crypted, of course, with old-fashioned ways of doing it that only them still remember using from... Days long gone.
Vander, once again, is the first one to make it personal (another apology; a little reflexion on how his kids are doing; a "do you remember-"). Silco never answers those beyond "do you think I care? Focus on what matters now, if you please." right until one day he's the one bringing a memory up first.
Anyway, something something, the Kids, something something, Silco and Powder, something something, they both end up rekindling their relationship, forging a new, proper connection, never quite forgetting the past but trying to be stronger from it, and they raise teenagers together and free their city. Or something. At the very least both kinda judge their daughter when she starts dating a cop.

Love of a daughter...
It’s interesting how father - daughter relationships are a major driving force in Arcane. From Vander to Silco to Marcus, the love a father has for his daughter and the love a daughter has for her father is integral to the overarching narrative.
Vander.
Vander is arguably the healthiest depiction of fatherly love in the show. He lived a hard life in Zaun. We can only imagine what he endured and suffered before becoming a revolutionary. Silco definitely hinted the Undercity was a whole different place before it became a commodity. Once upon a time, they fought together as brothers and for undisclosed reasons, Vander decided Silco was a problem that required annihilation.
We know he decided after finding Vi and Powder, realizing his revolution (fighting Enforcers) had cost them their family (Mom and Dad), he decided to stand back, find a mutually beneficial compromise to ensure no one else has to lose their family like those two girls did.
His influence in the Undercity is paramount and it’s even so more in Vi and Jinx, especially Vi. Vi was the oldest. He had these “mature” talks with her. I feel raising these children was his second chance and he only wanted what was best for them in a healthy way. He was a selfish man, yes, but he wasn’t selfish when it came to loving his kids.
Just wanted to point out, Jinx knows what happened to Vander. I believe she knows what happened to him because of this moment in episode 9. She knows Singed has him. She knows.
Silco.
Silco is everything Vander isn’t, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love or is incapable of love. Arcane did a good show of portraying genuine love if inherently flawed, unhealthy love.
Silco respected Vander after their separation, but he turned to hatred when Vander adopted the kids, thus ending the Zaun and Topside conflict. He felt Vander sold them out, became a lapdog for their oppressors. He was unable to comprehend his reasons until he’s given an ultimatum, independence or Jinx.
He’s the rare villain who achieved his goals. He was standing on the finish line and only need a step to cross over but the step required handing Jinx over. Which he realized he wasn’t going to do. Ever. Do I believe he manipulated? Yes, to an extent, yeah. Did he encourage her instability and worst traits? Yeah, he absolutely did. But he accepted her differences, and Jinx knew something wasn’t right about her brain. She finally found someone who loved her for herself.
Vi absolutely does, but y’know, obviously, she wants “Powder” to get professional help so she can better herself and the Undercity. Completely reasonable too.
This is a line that needs to go down in the books. Because he gets it now. He gets why Vander gave it all up. Why he put down his fists and turned to a more “submissive” yet tolerable life where his people could live and thrive.
Marcus...
I don’t like this man. I don’t like him, but I love how he’s written. While he’s deplorable, he’s no more deplorable than Silco, but they share so much in common. Again, it’s their love for their daughters.
Arcane did a good job on showing how being a corrupt cop can fucking suck. He’s not free. He’s tied to Silco til death. When he begins to slip away, when he begins to debate whether he should die a hero, Silco reminds him that he has a lot more to lose than his reputation and freedom.
It’s his love for his daughter that compels him to continue on because he knows what Silco will do to his child if he ever fails him.
What is extremely eye opening is Marcus and Silco’s death. There’s no grand finale. There’s no redemption. There’s no catharsis when they die. When they die, there’s humanity behind the monster, love for their daughters and then, nothing. Nothing.
There is nothing satisfying about their deaths, and that speaks volumes. Villains, asshole characters usually get deaths that’ll give you some glee about. You’d be happy that they died, but here, there’s only grief, sadness and fear for what’s the come, especially Silco’s.
Marcus? He doesn’t even get a speech. He doesn’t get to say what he means to say. “I love her?” I don’t know. “I’m sorry?” I don’t know. He’s just dead, and the last coherent thought before death was for his daughter.
