Pre-heart attack symptoms, also known as warning signs or prodromal symptoms, are subtle indicators that may precede a heart attack. These early signals can vary from person to person but often include discomfort or mild pain in the chest, shortness of breath, fatigue, nausea, lightheadedness, and discomfort in the upper body, such as the arms, neck, or jaw. Recognizing these warning signs and seeking immediate medical attention is crucial, as they can offer a valuable opportunity for early intervention and potentially prevent a full-blown heart attack.

i don't think people understand the extent of the horror happening in palestine right now. "death" means nothing to people because of desensitisation so let me just tell you what white phosphorus is. it's being used in israeli munitions and has been and will continue to be fired across gaza and the palestinian borders.
white phosphorus burns when it comes into contact with oxygen (at nearly 800°C or 1500°F. the human body can withstand ~50°C for reference.) the air you breathe in ignites and it is near impossible extinguish. it sticks to clothing and skin and is very difficult to remove because it will continue to ignite in air. it burns flesh up to the bone and even past the bone because it penetrates tissue and is absorbed VERY easily. if you inhale it it'll destroy your respiratory tract and lungs. it can cause failure in multiple organs including the liver, kidneys and heart. it is being released in one of the most densely populated places on earth.
the only way to treat someone exposed to white phosphorus is to submerge them in saline or water and to pick out the substance with forceps, and when you undress a wound the substance can re-ignite. this is just ONE weapon that is being used to kill palestinian people right now. palestine does not have access to medical care, humanitarian aid, power, or internet. their hospitals are being bombed. gaza is one of the most densely populated places in the world with over 50% of the population being children. many children are the sole survivors of their families. there are videos of children experiencing panic attacks and symptoms of ptsd. the fact that israel has committed war crimes in plain sight means that we can only imagine what will happen to the palestinians in complete darkness.
israel has and will continue to deny this. your interests and fandom will still be here, you will wake up tomorrow morning and see your friends and family, but an entire nation of people are being wiped off the map. being silent is being complacent. reblog, spread information, tell people in real life, attend protests, sign petitions, call your government offices, at the very least be angry and upset and horrified because once you become numb and indifferent and hopeless the oppressors will have already won.
what's happening right now is more than a genocide and once it becomes a part of history we'll wonder how the world let this happen. genocides have been part of all nations. just because it is far away does not mean you don't have to be concerned. the fact that YOUR governments and YOUR idols and the people around YOU are supporting the mass eradication of an entire group of people should scare you. it shouldn't make you feel anything less than sick and angry and disgusted. DO something about it, no matter how small you feel your voice is, because palestinians no longer have one.
[edit] links to some helpful reblogs: one & two

+ a further reblog of mine
[edit 2] about palestinians "not having a voice" at the time i wrote this post internet connection was cut off entirely and even journalists weren't able to report for a period of time — that is all i meant by that. they of course have a voice and i never meant to undermine how people are risking their lives in gaza to get information out there and i apologise if thats what people took from it, it was not my intention but it is entirely my bad. please continue to spread information and updates from gaza as they come.
#please reblog with any useful resources you may have#or just in general#i dont care that this is a fanfiction blog because nobodys bloody made-up characters are important right now#look through tags and reblog the newer things because theyre being supressed#no matter how many followers you have#israel palestine conflict#free gaza#palestine#gaza#gaza strip

The Other Man
Pt 2
Your worst nightmare is avoiding your eyes.
Still sweating and slightly out of breath from the sprint you made from your home to the hospital, you try to wipe your hands down the material of your jeans, and you’re mortified to find them shaking.
Is it from adrenaline or from fear?
When they said they found your husband, alive, and he’s been fixed up all brand new, you thought everything would be fine, that things would go back to normal. Your home will finally stop being so stifling, you won’t burn a hole through your carpet from all the pacing like your friend tried to joke, and you no longer have to hold yourself at night just to stop from hyperventilating.
But when you look at his eyes and see only confusion and a drop of anxiety, you know something’s gone terribly wrong.
“He suffered trauma to the head and we noticed no signs of it during surgery, so the symptoms only showed up now. We’re sorry we hadn’t been able to warn you ahead of time,” the doctor says.
Maybe now your hands are shaking from anger.
You step towards the doctor, the sterile smell of latex gloves and death stinging your nose, and you splutter out, “What are you talking about? What’s wrong with my husband? Why is no one just telling me straight up?”
He flinches.
They both do.
You don’t feel bad, can’t feel bad.
The doctor opens his mouth and he’s explaining, rambling about all sorts of medical terms you don’t know and it’s likely he’s doing it to distract you, or punish you, but you do hear one word. It registers and sends a static ringing through your ears.
“It would seem your husband has developed retrograde amnesia.”
Amnesia.
When he finishes, a silence takes over, filling up the room and pressing you to the walls, daring you to suck in a breath. A beat or two passes whilst he wait for either one of you to say something, ask something, anything. But no one does, so he leaves and immediately you wish he stayed.
“Hi.”
His voice breaks you out of your internal panicking. It has a slight quiver, perhaps from the deep sleep he had been under, or the exhaustion that had built up, the price to pay for saving so many people in one night. The reports said, on the night he disappeared, that there had been many curses, strong ones, gathered in an organised attack, an ambush. They had backed your husband in a corner and pushed him to his limits.
They did this.
You try to smile.
“Hi, baby, how you doing?”
There’s a blush forming across his cheeks and you smile for real, finding his embarrassment adorable, but then it drops just as quick when he clears his throat, as if setting a boundary.
“So,” he drags out, “you’re my wife, huh?”
What’s the procedure for losing your loved one to an internal injury so bad you feel it cut deep? What’s the etiquette? Because you’re so sure screaming at him to stop playing this cruel joke is probably not a good idea; you already know what the doctors would say.
It would be unwise to push him.
Your steps are hesitant but you push through that invisible force keeping you back. You need to touch him, need to feel that, despite it all, he’s warm and real and breathing — at least one of you has to be.
He looks up at you from your position beside his bed and watched your hand lift towards his face. He doesn’t move, he steels himself for your sake, you know it, because your husband has always been the kindest, most empathetic man you’ve ever met.
Then you cradle his slightly cut up cheek and tears stream down before you even know it, a laugh bubbles out and you sob it out. He’s really alive.
“I’m so happy you came back.”
He smiles, it doesn’t quite reach his eyes, but it’s still a genuine smile and your heart leaps. If he can smile at you like that even without the pull of the shared memories of his time with you, then surely there’s hope. Because through his dazzling eyes, always dazzling, you believe there’s a huge box of everything he had filed on you, on his love for you, his wishes and desires for for you both. It’s just locked away at the moment, but you’ll find a key.
You have to.
“I must have been pretty great to bag a gorgeous woman like you.”
“The greatest.”
He laughs in surprise. He did that every time you played along, because no one else ever had, not his own family or his friends, and not even himself.
And the hours pass by with him asking questions and you answering patiently, despite the stab at your chest from every moment he forgot, every special occasion he doesn’t remember, and you both relive the bad times, the terrible times.
Except he’s going it through for the first time.
All the nurses and doctors filter in and out, changing this, emptying that, wiping here, walking there, and throwing all sorts of information at you. Eventually, they give you a care pack full of pamphlets filled with numbers and websites for support, letting you know he’s free to leave, but that check-ups will have to be frequent to monitor his progress.
You can tell he’s getting tired; you don’t blame him, it’s been too much too fast. So you tell him, “Alright, handsome, it’s time to go home.”
He cheers up at that, eagerly packing and hobbling out of the hospital and into your car. The car ride home isn’t quiet like you had dreaded, it’s loud, bustling with more questions and excited remarks.
“No way. He ate that finger? That’s so funny.”
“Oh, his hair is really that spiky? And she puts up with both of them? Wow.”
“He’s still teaching? That’s great.”
When you pull up to the house at the end of the street, all the lights are off and you feel a little embarrassed that it doesn’t look inviting, and of course you forgot to clean up the dishes and vacuum the carpet. Maybe you should have gotten balloons and streamers, maybe invited his friends. You know the doctor said don’t overwhelm him, but they’ll definitely come knocking sooner than later.
That’s how loved your husband is.
You have a bashful smile when you finally glance up at him, both walking up to the door, and it plummets at the disappointed look on his face. He doesn’t care about the lights, only that the home he had been expecting is the one across the city, the one you had made him move out of years ago so you could live together as a soon to be wedded pair.
Now, he’ll have to live in your home as a guest, borrowing your cups and plates, and wearing clothes he didn’t buy but the other man did, and then he’ll be sleeping next to you.
A stranger.
You gulp the horrified scream down and, with shaky hands, you unlock the door, ignoring the overwhelming feeling that you’re losing an uphill battle, that things will never be the same, and he’ll never love you, not like he did.
Your husband is loyal to a fault; he won’t leave you, not because he loves you, not because he can’t imagine being anywhere else but here, with you, but because there’s a ring on his left finger that he keeps playing around with like it feels wrong to have it on.
And the realisation that you don’t care, that you have enough love for the both of you, that you want, need, to have him in any way he’ll let you, creates a dull ache in your stomach.
You don’t try to smile when you turn to him, even when he does.
All you say is,
“Welcome home, Satoru.”

Curious about something you mentioned in your post last week, you said that in your opinion all drugs should be legal and I’m curious about how that would be a positive at all? Like I get weed bc it’s pretty harmless but when I think of drugs I think of cocaine and heroin, which have destroyed so many lives. If it was widely available wouldn’t that end up hurting more people than helping? That’s just my opinion but I’m curious on the other side
I do think all drugs should be legal. This is said knowing that addiction runs in my family and that the only reason my older sister is my *sister* is due to drug use and addiction. Otherwise she'd be my cousin.
Making drugs illegal does not stop people from getting high. It does not stop drug related crime. And it certainly does not stop drugs from tearing families apart.
Addiction is a symptom of a larger problem. Solve the problem and the addict problem goes away. Solve the addict problem and drugs stop ruining lives and destroying families and creating massive amounts of drug related violence. Places that have roled out decriminalization strategies effectively have seen an overall reduction in crime rates across the board, a reduction in recreational drug use, and a reduction in bloodborne illness like HIV. Creating safe needle exchanges as well as safe places to get high with medical staff onhand has also created a locale where very few people die from overdose.
Most people hear "decriminalize all drugs" and think I mean a free-for-all. I don't. I think the drug market should be regulated. I don't think you should be able to get ketamine or heroin over the counter at a walmart like you can get asprin. But I think it's time to stop putting people in jail for getting high.
My aunt tore her life and her family and her health apart for years while she was addicted to heroin. My sister, her daughter, needed to be removed from her care due to the amazingly bad choices she made as a mother due to her addiction and her prioritizing drugs over the health and safety of her daughter. My aunt has had multiple heart attacks from the damage the constant drug use did to her body.
My aunt is more than a decade sober and do you know why? It's not because she got a wakeup call when her daughter was taken away, because at the time she willingly and freely signed her over to my parents because that got her "out of [her] hair". It's not because she had a heart attack, because she went right back to it the moment she was out of the hospital. It's not even because she spent time in rehab and prison, because the moment she was out she was using again.
No, my aunt got sober because her life changed. She was put on a better pain management plan. She got out of her shitty marriage to her shitty husband. She completed some education to make her more hireable so she didn't have to rely on less than safe means of paying her bills. She reconnected with my sister and reforged their relationship once she was 18. She bought her own house. She found love with someone who didn't give a shit about her past and brought out the best in her.
My aunt was a deeply unhappy person. Heroin made life more tolerable for her. Until she couldn't tolerate life without it. Until she'd do anything, anything, to get her next high.
A lot of addicts are addicts because they are self-medicating for something else and their drug of choice has chemical properties that makes their brains crave it more. If you fix the "deeply unhappy" part, you create a healthier environment for that addict to take control over their life again. Without it, they are far more likely to continue to relapse.
Knowing this, why would I then want to add the threat of prison and jailtime- life-ruining things themselves- to an addict's list of concerns?
Look up rat park sometime. In the rat paradise, drugged water was freely offered, and occasional a rat here or there would take a hit or two, but rarely enough to even get high and almost never habitually. Addiction literally didn't exist even though the rats were taking addictive substances. But the rats in cages, seperated from each other, with no enrichment, crammed into small spaces and stressed to hell? Those rats took hit after hit after hit until they overdosed and died. The addict rats were deeply unhappy. The drugs were their only escape. The paradise rats had to be lured in with sweetened drugs to even consider and even then they rejected them. The caged rats did not need sweetner, even though the drugs made the water bitter.
If we can see such a stark difference in rats having their needs met vs rats experiencing isolation and stress, what would happen if we showed human addicts the same consideration?
I think a lot better results than continuing to jail deeply unhappy and desperate people for doing the only thing they can think of to cope.

thinking about what was going through L’s mind as he lay in bed, the same night that light and him were in the helicopter.
after insisting at every turn that the brilliant teenage boy smiling before him had to be kira, was — no, is forever kira, he finally can look into light’s eyes and see what he always knew was there.
a murderer, a sociopath, a villain, a liar. yes, everything has gone to plan. light is kira; kira is light.
the boy he has spent the last few months monitoring, mapping, and mythologizing, is kira.
kira is the boy who has watched L type genius nonsense on his computer in the dark, shared a fourth of the key lime tart that watari served after misa and matsuda returned alive, listened to L babble 19th century french poetry when progress had slowed to an unbearable crawl.
yes, light is all that and a million other dirty things, packed tight and wound up in the shape of a classical greek statue, an eighteen year old boy, japan’s top student.
kira.
that thought should bring him joy. satisfaction. relief, even, that his deductions would never miss their mark. and it does. elation lights L up on the inside, or perhaps on the outside going in, like being doused in water and feeling it sink into his bones.
it’s wonderful, it’s horrible; he didn’t know warmth could feel so cold.
because at the quite literal end of the day, this is what he’s been chasing, isn’t it? his culprit, his criminal, his killer.
so why, when sharing a bed with him, inches from his skin and from exposing the truth, does L want to see light within those eyes again?
he reminds himself its ridiculous. they aren’t separate entities, like a parasite and its host. rather, one incorrigible unit, a package deal, something he signed up for at the start. a plant with rot already spreading through its roots that L simply had to deliver back into the soil.
he’s never really had a green thumb, anyways.
gnawing on his nail, L rolls over in their bed, observing the light-shaped god slumbering in total darkness. kira is so pale that his skin brightens the night. his breathing shakes the earth and breaks waves beneath L’s skin.
so the world’s greatest detective decides to shift a little closer. and recites heart attack symptoms in his head until he falls asleep.
#eggo expresses#death note#l death note#l lawliet#light yagami#lawlight#if anyone actually reads all of this i’d be very impressed#sorry for yapping#somethimes i just get. . fhsss thoughts!.. yaknow#dont mind my rambling if its ass i just needed to expel this from my system#i am such a sucker for their freaky weird domestic-esque moments

Recognize the Signs of a Heart Attack - Know Your Left Anterior Descending Artery(LAD)!
A heart attack occurs when blood flow gets obstructed while going to the heart, resulting in cardiac muscle damage. One of the major arteries that can become blocked during a heart attack is the left anterior descending artery (LAD). In this article, we will explore the structure of the heart, what the LAD is, and the warning signs of a heart attack.
Structure of the Heart
The heart is an essential organ that plays the role of pumping blood throughout the body. It comprises four chambers – the right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium, and left ventricle. Blood is carried from the body to the right atrium, then to the right ventricle, and finally to the lungs for oxygenation. The oxygen-rich blood is then taken from the lungs to the left atrium, the left ventricle, and the rest of the body.
The LAD is one of the major arteries that supplies blood to the heart muscle. It is located in the front of the heart and runs along the surface of the heart muscle. A blockage of the LAD can lead to a heart attack and can be life-threatening.
What is LAD in Heart?
LAD stands for left anterior descending artery. It is one of the main arteries that supply oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle. The LAD supplies blood to the front and side of the heart and is responsible for a significant portion of the blood supply to the left ventricle.
Warning Signs of a Heart Attack
Identifying the warning heart attack signs is important for seeking immediate medical attention and reducing the risk of long-term heart damage. These signs of a heart attack vary from person to person, but common symptoms include:
Chest pain or discomfort: This is the most common heart attack symptom. It may feel like a tightness, pressure, or squeezing sensation in the chest that can last several minutes or come and go.
Shortness of breath: Feeling breathless, even at rest or with minimal exertion, can indicate a heart attack.
Sweating: Feeling sweaty, even in a cool environment, can signify a heart attack.
Nausea or vomiting: Nausea or vomiting can indicate a heart attack, especially in women.
Fatigue: Feeling unusually tired or weak, especially if it comes on suddenly, can signify a heart attack.
Pain in body parts: A discomfort in the arms, back, jaw, or stomach can also signify a heart attack.
It is essential to remember that not everyone experiences these warning signs, and some may experience no symptoms. It is vital to seek timely medical attention if you suspect a heart attack, even if you are not experiencing any symptoms.
Conclusion
The LAD is an important artery that supplies blood to the heart muscle. A blockage of the LAD can lead to a heart attack, which can be life-threatening. Identifying the warning signs of a heart attack is important for seeking immediate medical attention and reducing the risk of long-term heart damage. If you experience any warning signs of a heart attack, seek medical attention immediately.

Chapter 1. - Chapter 2. - Chapter 3 Chapter 4. - Chapter 5. - Chapter 6 Chapter 7. - Chapter 8. - Chapter 9
Word Count: 1328
Chapter 9:
Despite the circumstances, there was not a lot of panic; which could be considered a good sign. Being calm would help find a solution, and something was telling you that the clock with the counting down number was not there for show.
Suddenly, you heard a gasp followed by Alice's voice.
"Your face is back to normal." She said to Sharon, making everyone notice that indeed the swelling had all disappeared.
"Thank goodness." Sharon exclaimed, placing a hand over her heart.
You also went to Lilia, who surprisingly still held on the hand mirror and both observed your faces; deeply relieved you were back to normal.
A sigh of relief escaped your lips but you could still fill your heart racing faster, making you question whether it was from the sudden stress or something else.
Teen looked at all the women around him. "It went away so fast."
Somehow, this seemed to ring a bell in your mind. "Why do I feel this is not a good thing?" You questioned.
Surprisingly, Jen pointed a finger at you, but her mind was elsewhere. "No, she has a point. This is not a yay. Very much not, yay."
"What do you mean?" Teen asked for everyone in the room.
Jen did her best to keep her tone from faltering. "The fact that the face swelling decreased so quickly means it could be only one type of poison... Alewife's Revenge."
You could not help but roll your eyes at the name. "Is there anything in potions that doesn't have an ominous name attached to it?"
Lilia glanced at you and merely shrugged her shoulders, having no answer to your rather rhetoric question.
"Face swelling is just the beginning." Jen continued, bringing up all the symptoms. "Next is dizziness, delirium, loss of motor function."
Suddenly, Alice started to walk away from the group. "My heart's racing."
"That's another one... Also, hallucinations, and eventually... death."
Something inside Agatha snapped, and she lost whatever calm demeanour she had managed to keep all this time. "I've gotta get outta here." She said and headed for the balcony doors.
She grabbed the heaviest item she saw first and marched towards the glass doors before starting to smack on it with all the force she could master.
Everyone called for her to stop, but it was you and Alice that moved to do something instead.
The former police witch managed to pull the item away from Agatha's hands, earning a roar of frustration from the magicless witch.
Agatha was ready to attack Alice and get the item back, but you were faster. You had moved behind her, wrapping your hands around her waist and grabbing her wrist; keeping them close to her body.
"Agatha, Agatha, Ags... breathe, breathe" you whispered to her ear, fighting against her futile attempts to free herself from your grasp.
You were stronger than her, though, and at that moment; you were also far more determined to stop her from doing a mistake that would cost her... that would cost all of you.
Eventually, your former lover stopped and you slowly let her go; ensuring she would not try any surprise attacks or any other tricks. You knew better than anyone that she was the most dangerous when cornered.
"You can't run away from the poison." Jen scolded her, and she only scoffed in return before regaining her composure.
As you let her go fully, you failed to notice that one member of the group was missing. The boy had noticed something and soon came back, with a familiar glass of wine; it was still filled.
"She didn't drink the poison." He pointed out, looking at her in disbelief. "You can't cheat, Agatha."
"Why? Who says?"
Lilia glared at Agatha. "The Road." She reminded her.
"Oh, that's ridiculous! We don't all have to suffer." Agatha argued and pointed at the boy. "Teen didn't drink"
Jen, of course, already had her argument ready. "He's not in the coven. And he's underage!"
"I'm gonna shove it down your gullet, so help me..." Lilia threatened but Agatha did not let her finish.
"You know what?" She exclaimed as she grabbed the glass from Teen and smashed it on the ground, letting the red wine stain the white carpet and wooden floors.
Different expressions and shouts filled the room and even you could not help but take a deep breath to contain your reaction.
You had feelings for Agatha. You would protect her, but even you could not be an accomplished to a cheating scheme against the road.
Both you and Agatha knew better of the rules, and yet your lover still thought she could try her luck.
You got it. She was scared, but none would make it through unless you passed at least the four basic trials.
"You have to drink, Agatha." Alice shouted.
"Well, I would, but there's no more wine."
Something grabbed your attention as you stood next to Agatha. "There is," you pointed out towards the table.
Alice grabbed an empty glass left from one of the witches, noticing the remnants of the red wine left at the bottom. Surprisingly, the glass started to refill itself; proving to Agatha that this was the only way forward.
Agatha was still hesitant, and Teen was getting tired of this game, not wishing to see the other witches and you dying; not when you all had just started.
"Drink." He ordered Agatha, surprising her with his sudden and serious tone that was unlike him. When the woman hesitated, he chose to do it himself. "Fine. Then, I will."
"No!" Agatha exclaimed, surprising everyone with her reaction and her quick move to grab the glass before the boy.
You could not help but arch an eyebrow at the sudden protectiveness, but this time, she refused to meet your gaze; knowing you would be able to read right through her.
In the end, she emptied the glass in one go; pulling a face at the bitter taste. "Ugh! It's so cheap." She commented.
You all looked at her, waiting for the swelling to start but you did not manage to stare for long... for Sharon was the first victim of the next stage.
"Please, please." She begged as she walked on weak legs, staring pretty much at nothing. "Wanda? Wanda, I'm begging you. Let him breathe. Please."
Her begging tone, the fact that she was on the verge of tears; was an unsettling thing to see, especially since she had been so joyful and happy all this time... well, almost all the time.
Hearing Wanda's name made you realize she was hallucinating from her time in Westview but based on her reaction, it was not a good memory.
Dread filled your stomach as you speculated that the hallucinations were not going to be any good ones but most likely your worst nightmares.
Sharon started to pant heavily and in the next few seconds, she passed out. Alice and Teen moved fast to keep her on the couch, while the rest watched shocked at what had just taken place in front of your very own eyes.
"So the hallucinations seem chill." Teen said, trying to change the dooming aura in the room.
"Hey, Potions Witch." Agatha suddenly said and when everyone turned to look at her, were surprised to see her with her face swollen. "It's time to brew an antidote."
Jen moved towards the Kitchen as she started to think, the rest following. You and Agatha were the last ones standing and she dared to look at you.
This time, your look towards her was one of disappointment and you merely shook your head a few times. Without saying another word, you walked towards the coven; leaving Agatha behind to stare at your retreating back with her lips parted.
Hurt or not by your reaction was well hidden behind her swollen face, making one wonder if she did regret the latest scheme she almost pulled off.

The last dorm, and probably the one dorm you don’t want taking care of you…minus Silver. Hope you guys enjoyed this dorm series, I know I did. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to skedaddle back to work. Also the intro is the same for all parts, so if you’ve read it once, you’ve read it all.

Diasomnia: When You’re Sick
The worst thing to ever happen to you while attending Night Raven College had to be, hands down, getting sick. You were alone in the dorm with only ghosts and Grim to keep you company, and as much as you loved them, they couldn’t take care of you when you became sick. This meant you had to make do and hope that everything was alright. Normally if you were under the weather, you’d just suck it up and go to class so as to not worry anyone. This time however, that wasn’t an option.
You woke up with every muscle in your body feeling sore and aching with even the slightest movement. Your stomach churned something fearsome and you had a runny nose and cough to boot. You had no idea what illness you had fallen to. Having so many symptoms…you could only assume it was the flu or something akin to that.
Still, there was no way you were making it to class like this. So begrudgingly you told Grim you weren’t feeling good and needed to rest, and to go to class and get your homework so you could do it later. The demon cat was grumpy about not having his henchman, but eventually gave in, leaving you alone to rest in your room and hope that whatever you had would go away.
Malleus Draconia
Sebek will be the one mentioning you being sick in passing, noting how Grim had been out of control due to your absence. That’s all Malleus needs to hear before he’s sneaking away from his retainers and going over to your dorm. Thankfully you’re asleep when he appears in your room. He’s standing over your bed, looking over you and placing his large hand over your forehead, noting that it’s warmer than it should be. This prompts him to call up Lilia to inform him of the situation. That’s where the trouble begins.
Malleus has no clue how to care for a human, so it’s already off to a rocky start. Lilia himself knows a little bit, as he had to take care of Silver. The thing with Silver is, other than the narcolepsy, he was always a fairly healthy child…according to Lilia. Really he just always missed the signs that Silver was sick or though it was just a quirk. So now you have two fae over your bed, trying to figure out what’s wrong as you slowly wake up and meet their eyes. You might have a heart attack that devolves into a coughing fit as Malleus is frantically trying to help you.
You’re going to be the one needing to tell them they need to get you the school nurse, and no this is not the time to experiment with treatments. Malleus does so, just because you seemed really adamant, and it’s a good thing. The nurse is nervous with both Lilia and Malleus in the room, but eventually manages to figure out how to take care of you, and even noting that the stuff served in the cafeteria is best for your recovery. Once Lilia knows Malleus has it handled, he leaves. Malleus is doing everything the nurse says, with a little flourish of magic, to make you get better faster. He’s pretty good at reading you as well, so if you move slightly he’s already fluffing your pillow to make it more comfortable, and asking if you’d like more water. He can be very doting normally, and it only increases once you’re sick.
Malleus is going to be relieved, but also not trusting that you’re totally better. Be expecting him to take care of you for a solid week after you’re better, visiting you after classes and bringing you meals, as well as checking your temperature the entire time. It’s not that he doesn’t trust your word, he just doesn’t trust the nurse having the best treatment plan. If he could have it his way, he would’ve brought you to Briar Valley to have one of the doctors there check you over.
Lilia Vanrouge
Lilia had just decided on a whim to visit your dorm the previous night, wanting to see what you were up to. When he found you curled up in bed shaking, clearly still asleep and unaware of your current condition, he decided to just stick around until the morning. After Grim leaves for school, he makes his grand appearance and is asking you what’s wrong. He’s not as concerned as he should be, since he’s seen Silver like this many times and his son has always made a full recovery. Still, he is a little upset to see you in such a state.
He’s not the best, at all, but he kind of knows what to do. He’s taken care of Silver while he’s sick so he assumes he knows what he’s doing…he doesn’t. If you had a fae illness, he'd be perfect. He could treat that almost as well as a normal doctor. A human illness though…well he’s less experienced in that. Still, he’s going to try and do his best before calling the nurse to get whatever medications he needs to hand you. At least he’s willing to call in help once he figures out he doesn’t know how to make you better.
He’s pretty attentive, if not a little teasing while he takes care of you. Again, he knows you’re not dying so he can have a little fun with it. He will try to put some medicine on a spoon and pretend to be a bird as he brings it to your mouth. Show him the most unimpressed look and he’ll break out into a fit of giggles. Just make sure when it comes to meal times, you request being brought something from the cafeteria, letting Lilia know that his seasonings would be too much on your stomach right now. He agrees and brings you proper food, even if he really wants to add something to it.
He’s going to be over the moon when you’re all better, telling you how happy he is and asking if you want to do something fun now. There’s no resting time after being sick, he’s been so good the past few days waiting for you to be better, that now you need to go and do something with him. He’ll be happy if you agree to sit with him in his dorm room and play a few rounds of a video game though. He’s just happy to have you back honestly.
Silver
He’s another one who finds out through Sebek. He’s half asleep when Sebek begins shouting about how you’re missing and Grim is causing havoc and how he won’t stand for it. Silver only hears you’re missing and after asking he finds out you’re sick. He knows just how bad it can be, being sick with nobody to take care of you. Most of the time Lilia didn’t even realize Silver was sick growing up, so he was on his own. This is going to prompt him to go ahead and check in with you.
Silver is actually pretty good at figuring out what to do while you’re sick. Since he normally took care of himself growing up (even if half the time it was sleeping it off) he at least knew the basics. When he noticed you had a fever he was looking for things to help with it, alongside something for your cough and stomach. In no time he had all the things he needed to take care of you, and was able to do it without much of an issue. Good news for you, he is very quiet while he speaks to you, so you don’t need to worry about his presence causing you more of a headache.
He’s not perfect at it, but he tries to keep a good schedule up to make sure you’ll be okay. He can cook you something to eat as well, that tastes pretty okay so he doesn’t need to worry about running to the cafeteria before it closes. For the most part though, you both are asleep. In fact, sometimes you need to nudge him awake to grab your medicine, which he will sleepily do and mumble something about being sorry about falling asleep like that.
He’s relieved to know you’re all better and that he managed to help you, but he’s exhausted afterwards. Let him crash at your place and possibly also check in on him to make sure he didn’t catch whatever you had going on. Once he’s awake he’ll just smile and say he’s grateful you’re feeling better, but he needs to get going since you’re both behind on school work. He doesn’t need anything in return for helping you, but if he ever does get sick it wouldn’t hurt to help him out. He was good to you, so returning that favor is needed…especially since Lilia might not even notice Silver is sick…again.
Sebek Zigvolt
He’s going to notice right away once he sees Grim by himself, doing whatever he wants. He’s going to say the only reason he’s going to check in on you is because the sooner you’re better, the sooner you can control Grim. After all, Grim being crazy can disturb Malleus and cause distractions, and he would be a horrible retainer if he allowed that to happen. Nobody but Lilia and Silver would comment about how he was more fidgety the moment he found out, and how he bit down on his bottom lip, gnawing it with worry for you.
Sadly he’s another one who’s totally hopeless when it comes to taking care of someone else. More or less…it’s a bit disastrous. He’s too loud and causes headaches by accident, and he hasn’t the faintest idea on human illnesses despite being half human himself. Normally when he got sick, nobody knew if it was a fae or human illness, so he was treated for both. Which doesn’t bode well for you since he’s going to use that to try and treat you initially.
Once he realizes his efforts aren’t making you better, he’s going to call Silver to help out. He doesn't want to bother Lilia for something like this, and Silver is the only human he likes other than you. Thankfully Silver explains what to do and Sebek will do so, but stumbles a bit. At least you’ll slowly be getting better, and he’s not an idiot and will make sure you’re eating good food. He’s determined to make you better, and eventually he forgets all about the horrible excuse he told others, letting his worry take over for you. After letting him know his voice is a bit too loud, he’s going to quiet down for you.
He’s relieved to know you’re better and for a while he’s significantly less tense, and everyone notices. Lilia is going to be teasing him about it, making poor Sebek go bright red since he’s been outed for caring about a lowly human. When you thank him, he’ll go back to the lie he told everyone else about wanting Grim to be properly handled, but the red on his cheeks is persistent enough to let you know that it’s a horribly fabricated lie…though you would’ve been able to tell either way.
