#sigil stones

Hi :3 just wanted to say I love this blog, as a witch and ES fan. Also wanted to ask what the equivalent of a sigil stone be in ES witchcraft and how one would use it?

Heyyy so apparently it's been a hot minute since I actually posted anything on this blog, despite the fact that the drafts here are chunky. Gotta go through those one of these days.

Anyway, sigil stones. Lowkey, it gives meteorite energy. I've babbled a bit about meteorites in Elder Scrolls witchcraft but that was in relation to the Welkynd Stones. According the lore, the sigil stones do the following things:

sustain liminal bridges from Oblivion to Mundus and vice-versa

enchanting and creating powerful objects (such as the Arms of Chaos and the Warlock's Mark)

summoning powerful Daedra and items from Oblivion using the Atronach Forge

So what you would be looking at is something made specifically to tap into the powers of otherworlds, afterlives, and liminal spaces. I don't feel like pulling out my correspondences binder and trying to track down my source, but the first thing I would think of would be a sufficiently chunky crystal. The second thing would be...well, a regular stone that you scribble or carve specific symbols and sigils onto in order to achieve the same ends. Of course, I enjoy an element of DIY in my craft, so I'm not sure how feasible that is for everyone...

hi I am still not normal about how we never get much of an epilogue for Emily and Corvo in the second game we are told how the rule turned out and that Emily is the beloved empress now but nothing beyond that and I get that the entire game is very much built on that I get that the first game we have close relationship with Emily and become fond of the staff that work with the Loyalists so we feel alone because we do not quite see eye to eye with our allies and all we have left is this little innocent child that sees Corvo as someone who can do no wrong in this world which is strongly contrasted with the second game where Emily (or Corvo) has few trusted allies that they can actually rely on and it feels like a group of almost-friends working to dismantle the conspiracy but at the very end of it all Emily is all alone, even her return to the Tower is so much more grim, her taking down Delilah, the entirety of Dunwall- it all feels so incredibly and thoroughly isolating, she is all Alone now, and maybe that's why it bothers me so much to see the story end so abrupty.

it would've been so, so poetic if both the first and the second game ended with Corvo and Emily embracing

Celeste and Martin are both extremely skilled at hiding their problems however they also see directly through each other's bullshit- Celeste walks through the door of cloud ruler temple and her and martin both immediately descend into BBC Sherlock investigation montages

every single time martin is like:

recent armor repairs, favoring left leg, smile slightly off, travel bag heavier than normal. conclusion: almost died in an oblivion gate again. needs a lecture.

and at the exact same time celeste is like:

eye bags (worse than normal), chair scooted millimeters farther from baurus than it usually is, looking at books but not reading them, wistful expression, shrimp posture. conclusion: lonely. needs to be gently made fun of until he feels normal again.

none of this is perceptible to anyone else in the room.

sigil stones are hyperagonal (has a lotta angles in a lotta dimensions) and can use those angles to get you into other dimensions (daedric realms and otherwise) through the waters of oblivion. there’s other artifacts that can get you through the waters, but a sigil stone is the only thing that can get you through safely/let you back out. i think
