Hi :3 just wanted to say I love this blog, as a witch and ES fan. Also wanted to ask what the equivalent of a sigil stone be in ES witchcraft and how one would use it?
*claws my way out of the realms of Oblivion*
Heyyy so apparently it's been a hot minute since I actually posted anything on this blog, despite the fact that the drafts here are chunky. Gotta go through those one of these days.
Anyway, sigil stones. Lowkey, it gives meteorite energy. I've babbled a bit about meteorites in Elder Scrolls witchcraft but that was in relation to the Welkynd Stones. According the lore, the sigil stones do the following things:
sustain liminal bridges from Oblivion to Mundus and vice-versa
enchanting and creating powerful objects (such as the Arms of Chaos and the Warlock's Mark)
summoning powerful Daedra and items from Oblivion using the Atronach Forge
So what you would be looking at is something made specifically to tap into the powers of otherworlds, afterlives, and liminal spaces. I don't feel like pulling out my correspondences binder and trying to track down my source, but the first thing I would think of would be a sufficiently chunky crystal. The second thing would be...well, a regular stone that you scribble or carve specific symbols and sigils onto in order to achieve the same ends. Of course, I enjoy an element of DIY in my craft, so I'm not sure how feasible that is for everyone...
Thanks for sending this in, anon! Sorry it took me a bit to get to it!

physically sick over the fact that. In the game’s canon Viktor is doing whatever he can to get rid of his emotions and humanity. and it’s what him and Jayce clash over most. its the center of their entire conflict
but in arcane it’s torn away from him against his will because of Jayce. Because Jayce didn’t care what Viktor became as long as he got his partner back. Hello. Can anyone hear me

Hello friend! I hope you're doing well.
I've been working with "Arcana Restored" to make something to charge talismans and amulets and I so far have a basic idea. I also used the whole Ayleid lore where they used starlight as a spiritual energy which means I now need to make a bowl with the constellations on the standing stones but now I have another issue.
What do I use to channel energy from Aetherius? The book mentions gold and that could colloidal gold or an actual piece of it but if I'm working on the Ayleid Praxis, especially with the whole Magnus and the Magna Ge rending holes where allows Magicka to flow into the world, then should I rather use something like a crystal?
Ooo, a thing to ponder! Sorry this took so long to get to, I was not doing well for a while there, but I'm back in business, baby!
You know, I always saw the Welkynd Stones as being analogous to clear quartz for those of us not in Nirn. For me, I've found that clear quartz is helpful for both generating and storing raw magic energy, just like the Welkynd Stones store Magicka. Even the formations of them remind me of quartz points!
In-universe, however, Welkynd Stones are made of meteoric glass. And when a meteorite hits the ground in our world, sometimes they will make things like Libyan desert glass. If you don't have access to meteorite-made glass, perhaps normal glass may also suffice? And as you said, gold is another option thanks to the book mentioning it.
So many possibilities! Thanks to my own experiences with clear quartz, I'd probably lean towards trying that first, but you'll have to let me know how your own experiments go!

I wanted to introduce this freak and another guy for 2 years now, so majority of these drawings are pretty old 😭😭 His name is Nyoka Wadjet, and he’s one of my personal favorite boys I only ever teased on and off. I meant to get his ref drawings fixed up and cleaned, but tbh, that realistically wasn’t happening so I just compiled a bunch of mock ups I attempted as is. The quality isn’t up to snuff for my liking, but the trade off is a short bio that’s actually legible. Wooooo~
He’s twisted from/inspired by Ushari from The Lion Guard. (Ushari is explicitly stated to be an Egyptian Cobra in-series, so I primally looked at the real life animal as most beastmen tend to, but hopefully those who know about Ushari can still see the allusions.) I hope people like him as much as I have over the years, he’s one of my favorites 👉👈🥺

I love the pale garden and how it's like a parallel to dark forests. I love how the two divert expectations.
Dark forests, despite their name, are saturated and full of life. Even compared to regular forests, there's a lot more biodiversity than many of the "basic" biomes. There's three whole different trees found there, giant mushrooms, and plenty of flowers. They're one of the biomes capable of spawning a lush cave underneath it. It has its dangers just like any other overworld biome, obviously, but it's nothing overly more than anywhere else. Traversing it can be tricky sometimes and illagers may take residence in the biome's woodland mansions, but it's ultimately a very colorful and lively environment.
Opposing it is the new pale garden. Usually white and light colors are seen as pristine and good, but the pale garden takes it the opposite direction and goes right into uncanny valley territory. It has none of the color of dark forests, none of the biodiversity, none of the liveliness. It has trees and moss that look familiar, but something is off. It has a signature mob, but even the creaking is just a puppet of the trees, not really sentient, not really even plotting against anything. There's "life", but, once again, it's wrong.
I think the pale garden is a wonderful addition to Minecraft's world building as it is, but the deliberate parallel to dark forests? Delicious.
