I finally understood why ranveer singh was chosen to play rocky in rocky aur rani ki prem kahani. It's because nobody could have played a west delhi boy who is hot,funny, irritating, cute and cringe at the same time. Ranveer singh has slayed his individual role. Full marks to being rocky randhawa but negative marks for his chemistry with alia. Their chemistry was better off playing safeena and murad in gully boy. Alia bhatt also has played the role of rani very well. Kudos to her bengali accent. But again there's absolutely no chemistry. RRPK is a must watch. Its 3 hours of proper bollywood kjo style entertainment. Don't know about the actors making a come back but karan johar has definitely made a come back. If you have grown up loving DDLJ, K3G, KKHH, then the karan johar fan in you will be mighty pleased.

I would have preferred

Ranveer-Anushka, Alia-Varun, Ranveer-deepika, Alia-Sid to make this movie a 10/10.

National Theatre announces complete casting for Ballet Shoes – including Pearl Mackie

The much-loved novel by Noel Streatfeild heads to the venue

Pearl Mackie for the National Theatre.

Noel Streatfeild’s best-selling book Ballet Shoes will be adapted for the stage by Kendall Feaver (The Almighty Sometimes) – and complete casting has been revealed.

The show will open on the National Theatre’s Olivier stage from 23 November 2024, with the festive family show directed by Katy Rudd, who returns to the National Theatre following her acclaimed production of The Ocean at the End of the Lane. 

The piece follows three adopted sisters living in a crumbling house, learning to forge a future while keeping their family together.

As already revealed, appearing are Eryck Brahmania (ensemble), Cordelia Braithwaite (ensemble), Michelle Cornelius (ensemble), Sonya Cullingford (Winifred), Jenny Galloway (Nana), Courtney George (ensemble), Georges Hann (ensemble), Nadine Higgin (Theo Dane), Helena Lymbery (Doctor Jakes), Xolisweh Ana Richards (Ballerina), Sid Sagar (Jayan Saravanan), Grace Saif (Pauline Fossil), Justin Salinger (GUM) and Daisy Sequerra (Posy Fossil).

More Evidence to Support Omega being Force sensitive

The Kaminoans only want her, not Boba. If it was just about getting a steady supply of unaltered Jango Fett DNA, they’d have an easier time going after Boba than Omega. They could pay him for his DNA, or pay any of Boba’s fellow bounty hunters (Bossk, Aurra Singh, Cad Bane, Asajj Ventress, etc.) to bring him in. He wouldn’t even be that hard to find if he’s still in jail on Coruscant. But Tech says the Kaminoan records claim Boba is “lost.” There could also have been a special stipulation in Jango’s original cloning deal saying his son wouldn’t be poked & prodded like a lab rat, but I don’t think the Kaminoans would have any qualms about violating a deal made with a dead man.

We don’t get any details, but between her conversation with Echo in the med bay & her terrified reaction to returning to Nala Se’s private lab, we can assume Omega was subjected to a lot of tests & procedures. Which makes no sense if she’s just a normal clone.

Omega has crazy good Spidey senses. They led her to the treasure map, Gungi the Wookie Jedi Padawan, sticking up for the crimelord’s son who tried to take over Sid’s smuggling ring.

Omega’s a master of Dejarik, despite presumably never playing it on Kamino & only seeing it a few times in Sid’s parlor before trying it out herself. The Force could be giving her subtle vibes (impressions of the future, hints from the minds of her opponents) guiding her to victory. Or she’s a fast learner.

The Pentagon informed Nevada's Nellis Air Force Base that a previously approved drag show slated to take place on the base on the first day of Pride Month could not take place because it was not in line with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s recent comments, according to two defense officials.

The drag performance would have been held at the Officer's Club at southern Nevada's Nellis Air Force Base on Thursday, June 1, and had been approved by base commanders, just as it had been over the previous two years.

Base legal officers and commanders had determined that the event was in line with DOD policy and no department funding would be used for the event, according to the official who spoke to ABC News.

The decision on hosting such shows is typically left in the hands of local commanders who follow guidance from military attorneys, but Nellis officials were told earlier his week by the Defense Department that Thursday's event was not consistent with Austin's recent comments to Congress and that it should be canceled or relocated off base, a defense official told ABC News.

"Consistent with Secretary Austin's congressional testimony, the Air Force will not host drag events at its installations or facilities," said Ann Stefanek, a U.S. Air Force spokesperson. "Commanders have been directed to either cancel or relocate these events to an off-base location."

Military services were informed this week of the clarified guidance that only applies to drag shows held on military bases, another defense official confirmed.

Other LGTBQ+ events scheduled to take place at military bases during Pride Month will not be impacted by the new directive.

"Per DoD Joint Ethics Regulation (JER), certain criteria must be met for persons or organizations acting in non-Federal capacity to use DoD facilities and equipment," Sabrina Singh, the Pentagon's deputy press secretary, said in a statement.

"As Secretary Austin has said, the DOD will not host drag events at U.S. military installations or facilities," said Singh. "Hosting these types of events in federally funded facilities is inconsistent with regulations regarding the use of DoD resources."

Singh explained this is not a change in department policy.

"The Secretary has said DoD will not host drag events at U.S. military installations or facilities, consistent with long-standing policy," she said.

"We are proud to serve alongside any and every young American who takes the oath that puts their life on the line in defense of our country," she added. "Service members and their families are often involved in a host of special interest activities related to their personal hobbies, beliefs, and backgrounds."

The Human Rights Campaign, an LGBTQ advocacy group, blasted the reversal as "sid[ing] with the politics of fear and discrimination peddled by extreme members of Congress."

"For decades, our community has fought for our right to exist without shame or exception, yet [Austin's] decision to ban an event that has happened in prior years reinforces false tropes about LGBTQ+ culture. At a time when we are under attack, the Pentagon is ceding to extremist forces focused on taking away our rights -- leaders responsible for national defense ought to do better. Our people deserve better, the United States military deserves better, and all Americans deserve better," HRC President Kelley Robinson said.

In late March, both Austin and Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, expressed reservations about DOD facilities hosting drag shows when questioned about the matter by Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla.

"Drag shows are not something that the Department of Defense supports or funds," Austin said in response to a question from Gaetz.

Milley said he was unaware of the congressman's reference to drag shows taking place at Ramstein Air Base in Germany and Nellis and asked for more information "because I'd like to take a look at those myself actually -- take a look and find out what actually is going on there."

"I'd like to take a look at those because I don't agree with those," he said. "I think those things shouldn't be happening."

Gaetz applauded the cancelation of the planned Nellis drag show.

"HUGE VICTORY: The Department of Defense has CANCELED a scheduled "child-friendly" drag show after I demanded answers from @SecDef Austin and General Milley! Drag shows should not be taking place on military installations with taxpayer dollars PERIOD!" he tweeted Wednesday night.

Austin issued a statement Thursday celebrating the start of Pride Month and the contributions of LGBTQ+ service members.

"As Secretary of Defense, I remain dedicated to making sure that our LGBTQ+ personnel across the Joint Force can continue to serve the country that we all love with dignity and pride—this month and every other one. We thank you for your service—and we thank your spouses and your families, whose support makes your service possible," said Austin.

Day 4: More data, less sanity

We returned to the hospital again today, one member down with illness stayed back. Quite the irony. We had a plan of action today however, two of us will observe the people wandering around the premises while the rest will stay in the medical superintendent’s office. Since we split up, the accounts will be separate for each pair.

In the lobby, we noticed everyone looked well off, with smartphones and good clothing. The pharmacy was crowded, with no covers for medicines; one patient struggled with six bottles, dropping one.

Powders were transferred to ziplock bags by hand, and pharmacists, overwhelmed by questions, often directed patients to interns. Many patients seemed lost after receiving their slips at reception, wandering until asking for directions, unlike repeat visitors. We saw a scared kid at a weighing machine, and outside the OPD, patients waited on benches as doctors called names.

An elderly woman, needing help with her forms, told me she preferred 'desi medicine' for her knee pain and was searching for someone in a white coat. We overheard two women with Tamil accents at the pharmacy, and learned one had recently moved here because of her husband’s job.

No wheelchair facilities were evident, as an old man struggled in with his son’s help. Upstairs at the Panchkarma OPD, we saw a person taking blood pressure before sending patients inside.

Sia sat down with the guys at the registration booth and observed what was happening. Patients list their name, age, and gender along with ailment and the lady at the counter gives them a slip with the number of the appropriate department. Sia immediately noticed patients looked clueless right after getting the slip. They wander around aimlessly until they ask someone in the know. Repeat visitors know the place well and walk around with purpose.

Ayushi & Vaishnavi at the Medical Superintendent’s office

Ayushi and Vaishnavi decided to sit inside the medical superintendent’s office. (Totally not because of the air conditioning.) We entered and they offered us chai and water and we got to work immediately. His name was Dr. Rajendra Singh and he had a PhD. in Ayurveda along with a MD in Shalya. He talked about what he does which is basically authorise decisions and is responsible for the overall running of the hospital block.

People kept meeting him often and everyone were afraid of him. He had this aura of authority. People lowered their tone around him. A person entered trying to sell medicine. He listed down the properties in great detail and tried his best to convince him to place an order. He even gave him cosmetics for his wife! He had a clerk who sat next to him. He had his own office too. We then asked the medicine guy questions too. He then explained how the government decides prices for meds and this keeps varying throughout the year and the cost is assessed plus also how they have reputed The entire space was divided into with a partition through the middle. One half was for the MS and other half was for his assistant.

Hrithik opens up about his film Fighter, calls mixed reviews as the conviction of director Siddhartha Anand

Hrithik Roshan’s latest release Fighter is making great records on the box office. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand in which Hrithik plays the role of Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania lovingly called Patty. Hrithik is very happy to see his film garner such great response and in a recent interview, talked about the mixed reviews that the film is getting. He also said that he does not mind the criticism as it is his director Siddharth Anand’s “conviction”.

Quoting that as an actor he does not cross lines, Hrithik said, “I would like to believe that my fans and my audience who come to watch my films are a bit more evolved and they would not need lines like these. That is a weight that I bear. As an actor, I do not cross any lines. At the same time, I admire that Sid (Siddharth Anand) is a very, very headstrong filmmaker. It is his conviction. Sometimes you see somebody that convinced and it kind of breaks your heart to power down and say no. I also bear the weight of that because finally, it is my face. But I am very, very happy that it has landed as entertainment and nothing more than that. I am really relieved about that. Having said that, I still bear the weight."

He also opened up about his practice of choosing roles and said, "If your mission is stardom, and your mission is running that business, and you have that shop that people are liking and you keep selling what they like... That's also okay. I don't enjoy that, I feel suffocated. I think it comes down to why you are doing what you are doing. Why are you doing movies? What are you getting out of it? Is it for money? Then, go ahead man. There are no rules. You are earning the bread for yourself and your family. You go out and you sell yourself and do what it takes. I respect that. But once that need is satisfied... did you still want more? It has got to stop. You have to know what kind of life do you want to live and what is the cost of living that life. I always had that desire in me to find depth, because if you are not finding that what are you doing?"
