I looooove this part of the game so much!!!! The entire area is so fun looking! X)

So I have had 2 big play sessions of paper mario since last update, so it shall be touch long!

Last time was shy guys toybox which the music got real grating real fast, but the over all concept was fun and pretty well executed. We got a little spark guy as a new companion and he's got a gun combat ability but he's meh otherwise.

After running around and doing a ton of sidequest for old man koopa and a bunch of mail deliveries, we finally descended into the great jabu-jabus belly.

Definitely a tuna.

We got to lavalava Island (Tolkien would be proud of such imaginative naming) land of the yoshi's with Mr british koopa who's an imperialist and colonialist.

(Funny glitch with gombario happened too, he was just so excited!)

We explored the island, saved baby yoshies, got sushie (ACTUALLY a hilarious name) as a new partner to be able to swim, met up with the CROW GOD (failed to get pictures was very into the game, but he was epic and spoke in like military speech, he's a favorite) and then into the volcano we went.

I swear, if this game was more popular and if tumblr was around when it was, I swear people would be falling over kolorado, he's such a "wet little meow meow" British boy, and I thought that was the stereotype people ate up. I mean just look at him

Absolutely pathetic!

Anywho, the ending of this chapter was ACTUALLY amazing despite the crows being the most interesting bit otherwise and everything else being kinda meh. After fighting the boss they came back ON FYIIIIRE!

AND THEN after that they do the whole end of chapter credits-

Just to immediately jump you out and have the volcano be explodong and having to run out all metroid like!

I loved how they set up the pattern well enough at this point tht breaking it like this was the perfect moment and hilarious to do so.

Peach section had some hilarious lines, but I've run out of time and reached the picture limit and so shall continue later!

Continuing with my redesign of my shiny banette gijinka named Quinn, I decided to draw his mega form.

Since mega evolution affects pokemon behavior, often in extreme ways, I wanted Quinn to turn into a sort of nightmare when mega evolving. The darker colors are intentional, I wanted to go for a sort of "peering at you through darkness" kind of look. When Quinn mega evolves, his darker tendencies come to the fore, leaving behind any traces of the fun, entertaining person he normally is and causing him to become an absolute terror.

A pennywise reference was made elsewhere, and I guess I can see it lol

Azure (Jewel Sprite, fan species I made, my "main" oc if you will, for all the games in general)

Cato and Crackle (Beast tamer and "beast" on Team Bleck)

Gears/Smokestack (Bob-Omb train engineer, not a lot yet but he was made with Color Splash's Toad Trainworks in mind)

Crown Guy (PM64 Shy Guy Toybox ruler, fun lil dynamic with General Guy)

there's also Beau but he was made more for self-indulgence than anything else

Gaming Log for October 15th 2023

Nintendo Switch Lite

1. Pokemon Shield- beat some trainers, caught a Roggerola in Galar Mines, and added data for Roggerola to the pokedex

2. Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu- caught a Jigglypuff and added data for Jigglypuff to the Pokedex

3. Pokemon Legends Arceus- caught a Biberel for the first time

4. Pokemon Violet- caught a Nacli and added data for Nacli to the pokedex

5. Pokemon Let's Go Eevee- caught a Kakuna and added data for Kakuna to the Pokedex

6. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond- caught a Buizel and added data for Buizel to the Pokedex

7. Super Mario 3D Land Bowser's Fury- got the cloud cat shine in the hub world on bowsers fury and did level 3-5 on the main game with three green stars and the stamp

8. Paper Mario- got to Shy Guys Toybox and leveled up after beating the first two bad guys guarding the treasure chests and chose HP

9. Super Mario 64- got the shoot into the wild blue star in Whomps fortress

10. Super Mario Odyssey- went to the Lake Kingdom and got the spikey waterway power moon

11. Pokemon Quest- did level 3-3

12. Super Picross- did the dolphin puzzle in level 2

13. Super Mario All Stars- game over 7-2

14. Pokemon Cafe- did an order

15. Warioware Get it Together- did the last level on world one

No one in Dream Land knew why Kirby (AKA Mimic Knight) decided to split up guard duty over the Star Rod between his friends, but no one really questioned it either. The Fountain of Dreams water was some of the clearest in all the land, and, with the Nightmare Wizard’s Defeat, was now safe for those who wished to take a swim. So at least there was something to do other than take in the view!

Today’s guard duty was given to Neptune and, of course, Adeleine decided to accompany him!

CURRENT UPDATES ON ASK-THE-TOYBOX + WHAT TO KNOW [ 2023 ]

▶ Ask-The-Toybox is something I'd like to pick back up in my in-between owed / serious art time! This being said, activity may be inconsistent, but I would like to maintain a "at least one to five posts a week" basis that will fluctuate with life + schedule.

My scope is mainly around the RPG games: Super Mario RPG, The Mario & Luigi series, and the Paper Mario series! It's all one big world with strange occurrences to me, I merged them all in my take on the lore!

Okay so could shy guys travel. Because this:

I want this funky little guy. The image is here because I sorta want the shy guy to look like that. But I want this funky little guy to travel around and entertain people if that is possible for a shy guy.

absolutely it is! it's not unheard of for a Shy Guy to travel, in fact your Groove Guy probably wanted to take their act out of the Toybox and to the world! the only general rule is that Shy Guys typically have "(insert thing) Guy" as their names, like how i have Crown Guy. but you can get creative with it, it's probably based on what their act is, or heck you could probably just call em Jester/Clown/Harlequin Guy since that hasn't actually been used yet!

i can also imagine a travelling circus of Shy Guys and possibly other Mario enemies, maybe you'd want your OC to be a part of something like that in favor of the solo act?

So I've been watching a Paper Mario let's play lately and when it got to the 4th chapter,

oh. my. GAAAAWWSSHHH!!! I forgot how AMAZING shy guy's toybox is!!! All of it's so fun and kiddie and cute! Even just looking at it and listening to the music helps me feel small ^^
