So today on Skyrim:

Iorek gets stuck on a log while Caryalind and Taliesin team up to beat the shit out of Xelzaz for no apparent reason while Remi commentates on the latter’s condition on the sidelines.

All we did was kill a bear. ;_;

At the moment, I'm working on a small update to add a tracking system for Taliesin in case you loose track of him and don't want to use his summon spell.

And to have the ability to hug him. Very important!

After that, I want to update his introduction quest - some things might get retconned as we iron out the wrinkles and get into implementing his personal quest. Maybe even find a way to change his clothes since many want him out of his robes.

Don't worry though, Taliesin will still be his grumpy, sassy self.

In short, I want the next update to be BIG.

I had a go at making him in World of Warcraft but the closest I could get was this Blood Elf. If I did create him, I'd make him a frost mage. :)

if I succeed in making Taliesin in the sims is it alright if i tag you? I havent made a sim in a long time but he's giving me the urge to make him!

Oh @goredev, I’m sorry to hear of your troubles. The internet is a daunting place full of jaded people; it was brave of you to put out a project like Gore - I know I’d never have the confidence to do that. Jealous people will say anything to big themselves up.

I’m disappointed but I understand. I’m a fairly new Skyrim modder, but Gore has already cemented his place in my load order for a long time to come. Ultimately, your life and health must always come first.

Alright, it's time for a hard conversation. Everyone, I want to first thank you for all of your support since I started on this mod. It means a lot to me. I don't see a future in which I can continue working on this mod. I do all of the scripting, voice acting, etc. and to say that it is a lot of work is an understatement. Hell, the recent update that added a ton of interaction to the main quest and the factions was massive compared to most follower updates, and a lot more in depth than you get with most other mods. It took a lot out of me. Since publishing that update, I have been inundated nonstop with criticism of the mod's features, writing, character, interactions, quests, voice acting (which hurts, ngl) as well as blatantly false bug reports for vanilla engine problems, obvious mod conflicts, questions that are clearly addressed in the description that no one reads, etc. Basically, I have been pelted with negativity nonstop. I can count on one hand how many times I have even seen people talk about the new content I added, and not all of them were positive. A couple were people disliking the direction I took the mod in.

I did not make this mod to be "praised" for it, but I don't feel that I am asking too much to not be insulted constantly. I understand comparing followers should be expected, but there is one particular comparison that haunts me and has hung over this mod since the day it released. I won't pretend to be unbothered by it. The combined endless stream of negativity in the comments, bug reports, reddit, tumblr and, on the off chance someone even brings him up there, in the server has worn me down. I lost my job this year and went from making 6 figures last year to being medically retired on short notice. I am on a frightening cocktail of meds that MAY or MAY NOT even work according to the VA's finest psychiatrists, all while I am in school to restart a career in welding, working a job and raising a toddler full time. I simply do not have the energy or time to devote to working on this mod any longer while getting nothing out of it except nonstop negativity.

I am not, nor do I pretend to be over what happened last year around this time on Reddit where I was doxxed by a moderator with my full address. Although most of the people involved have "apologized" to me, it was a harrowing experience to say the least and opened my eyes to the parasocial nature of publishing something as ambitious as this. It irreparably damaged my relationships with other authors working on similar mods, which is why Gore has so few "interactions."

Moving forward I am going to lock the comments/bug reports and turn over the mod to a nexus caretaker. The discord server will be turned over to dwarvenqueen and I will be leaving shortly after. All social media accounts for the mod will be deactivated, including tumblr, twitter, reddit. The mod will remain open perms and any and all scripts, methods, etc. will be open to use. I don't care if you credit me, I will not see it. No one does as it is. Let it be known that I do not consent to:

Who is Velyania?

Velyania is the custom voiced follower I am currently writing, developing, and voicing. Here are a few facts about her:

She is a Breton vampire

She has a relationship system that unlocks stages of her personal quest by doing things such as completing dungeons with her, discovering new locations, picking certain dialogue choices, etc.

There are things that can negatively affect her relationship with the player as well

Her recruitment quest is fully integrated into the vanilla quest Laid To Rest

If you have not started Laid To Rest, you can find her idling around at the Blue Palace, maybe even talking amongst her peers

She has variation amongst almost all of her quests depending on if the player is a werewolf, vampire, vampire lord, member of the Dawnguard, thane of Haafingar, etc.

She can call the player by their name, and has unique lines when addressing the player by their name to set them apart from the other names

Depending on her relationship with the player, she can perform certain actions for the player, such as buying their room at an inn for the night

She is a lesbian

She will not be available for romance. Maybe. Probably not. If I change my mind she will be a romance option for female LDBs only

If you perform certain actions in front of Velyania, such as changing into a werewolf, she will not only have reactions for it, but these actions can also affect your relationship with her

She is a horse girl

She will have interactions with other followers in the future, such as Flint the Minotaur and Gore. Some of these interactions will be so in depth they will require their own separate patch!

She is currently available to play on her discord server while I finish fixing some bugs and voicing her (please note that the discord is 18+ only)

What's your favorite feature you've implemented into Gore that's underrated / not as popular?

meeko. you can pick him up with gore. gores file now marks him as essential. meeko also comes with you to camp. you can also leave meeko at camp if you like.

the camp in general i just really like.
