man..............if i had a nickel for every show i've seen whose second season finale featured a character getting julius caesar-ed in a plot in which charlie vickers's character was (arguably) involved (i still say guglielmo was innocent but i'll renege on that stance momentarily for the sake of finding parallels within the CVCU, Charlie Vickers Cinematic Universe), i'd have 2 nickels

I read the interview that George did about F&B and HoTD, and all I have to say is that him wanting a framing device of Gyldayn writing the history would have been so cool. Reshooting scenes with slight differences as the maesters argue over what *really* happened, the fact that the Targaryen dynasty is already doomed to fall in background, leaning into the dark comedy of it like Succession or the Serpent Queen, people arguing over what really happened (the fandom discourse would be insane). And this would have actually been a refreshing new take on the fantasy genre that could make HoTD stand out from GoT right off the bat. But noooooo.

Both me and George are disappointed.

#it would have justified all George’s talk about F&B being a biased history #and I think if pulled off it could have swept the Emmys #and also just be really cool #lean into the biased narrators #it wouldn’t have to be as off kilter as say The Favourite #but it could have leaned into it like the Serpent Queen being told from Catherine de Medicis pov #and lead in to dark tragic comedy of shows like Succesion and Whiye Lotus

Okay now that I've gotten the name change out of the way, guess what! I'm returning to my roots! I decided to start rewatching GX from episode 1, and the way I'm doing it is dub first, then rewatch the episode in the sub right after to compare and contrast. The Medici show was weird for their casting of Sandro and Giuliano. They should've been swapped; Bradley James looks like a slightly more swole Botticelli while Sebastian de Souza has Giuliano de Medici's dark curly hair and eyes. I don't get it lmao.
