did it take a lot of trial and error to find medication that worked for you? (i'm assuming because of that last ask), because it's like my second year trying and nothing is working for me and it's honestly giving me so much anxiety that i'm never gonna feel better or be able to do things without them taking all my energy like even the simplest tasks... it's very disheartening

if we’re talking about the type of medication, then it didn’t take me a lot of attempts to find the right one, however it did take quite a few years

i started taking antidepressants when i was 21 and they gave me sertraline right away, which did help me feel better at first, but i kept falling back into severe depressive episodes every couple of years like a clock, and instead of trying to change the medication, the doctor i was seeing just kept upping the dosage of the same one. at 27 i went through the worst episode i’ve ever had and I was terrified that they would never stop, that i would keep taking a step forward and a hundred back for the rest of my life every two years, but thankfully my mom helped me reach out to another doctor to get a second opinion and he suggested to try paroxetine instead, and after changing to that, it’s now been 6 years since i last had a major depressive episode (and let’s hope im not jinxing it fhskfgsk ;;;;;)

of course it hasn’t all been a bed of roses, there are still days where i feel bad and like im walking backwards, which is why i often think about going back to therapy as well, since the cognitive behavioral one can also be really helpful in my experience, but finding the right medication is definitely important to regain strength and hope

im not sure what your situation is like, exactly, but i know it’s very tiring and very scary to keep taking meds and feel like they’re not working. in my case it helped having a second opinion, because i also had reached a point where i no longer trusted my first doctor and didn’t feel heard and supported by him, so if you feel like hearing another opinion could reassure you a little i do recommend doing that. therapy may also work as a supporting system for you while you’re still looking for the right medication

i really do hope you’ll be able to find it soon, and even if i know it’s hard, please don’t give up!!!!!

Helga is the companion of sorts to my Last Dragonborn, Elisere, and a few months ago I went a little ham developing her husband and kids. I've been meaning to draw them and introduce them for awhile now and thought this would be a fun way to do it!

I am incapable of just creating one single OC with no relatives. I always gotta give them a whole family. But this family is thematically important so I've put a lot of thought into them
