Dukat becomes worse the more pitiful he is. Winn becomes more pitiful the worse she gets.

Dukat has these moments where you could almost feel sorry for him, but he just doubles down on how horrible he is in a way that makes you forget that moment of pity because he genuinely and sincerely does not think he’s done anything wrong, ever.

Winn has moments where she seems to be weilding her cruelty like armor, but then has a moment of vulnerability and doubt that make you realise you can’t quite hate her, you just feel sorry for her instead, because some part of her seems to know she’s going down a bad path but she is so terrified she can’t make herself turn back.

Their character arcs look similar on a surface level but are very, very different trajectories.

I don't think Jayce and Viktor literally died. They were kind of pulled into another dimension/astral plane/whatever you call it. We see older Viktor, and while it could be another Viktor, I think it would be more meaningful if it was our Viktor, finally free from the arcane, going through the universe with Jayce, fixing timelines together. Kind of like a cosmic mission.

I am still neck-deep in DC fandom this month and the fics have been so so good. Unlike last time, I am too tired to write mini summaries/reviews, so I'm going to feature my favorite quote from each fic instead.

At least, back then, Tim had barely been a teenager. He could almost forgive his own volatility. And he’d been smart enough (scared enough?) not to tell Jack that he didn’t need him. What was his excuse now? Bruce was his dad (at least, in the legal sense), but (surprise, surprise) it turned out that Tim wasn’t any better at being a son. Or Tim and Bruce still have some things to sort through after the adoption.

Imagine the things I'd survive, Dick thought distantly, if I loved Bruce less. Or: Agent 37 and his various crises of faith, on Day 277 at Spyral, Day 150, and Day -0.

Who will receive the body, decide on the funeral, receive condolences, make all the decisions that matter. No one has questioned it, not even Tim’s friends. There’s a terrible clarity about death. If Dick said, let’s burn everything he owned, Alfred would do it.

He doesn’t know exactly what Tim would say. But he knows what Tim would do. Tim dies. Dick doesn’t take death for an answer. A Red Robin 12 AU.

He waits a moment, head turned slightly towards the dim shapes of storage containers between him and the ramp, eyes straining against the blackness. Long, stretching seconds. There it is again. His gloved hand, prickling with cold, closes into a fist. It’s a wood thrush. A small North American songbird that doesn’t sing at night, doesn’t live in the city. He knows what it means. It means hold, steady, not yet. It means wait for me, I’m behind you.

Kremy and Gricko are really close in age and it makes me dizzy, I forgot that both Lizardfolk and Goblin live for like 60 years. Though goblins mature at 8 while lizardfolk mature at 14, I’m using Volo's Guide to Monsters as reference for ages and lifespan— I dunno what version the crew uses. But for the sake of me being crazy but they are literally past their mid-life crisis and are two old farts of the party

The domesticity of helping each other put heating pads on each other’s aching backs, making tea for aging bones, sighhh, just silly old men (men is said lightly because I think they both gender queers in some way lol). The camaraderie of the years getting you, sighhhh I just think they both sent each other minion memes on Facebook. That’s the ship to me okay… and maybe more, I draw them kiss!!! ☝️

I hc twst has like disney rules which is why rsa always wins bc heroes always win etc etc (it's why I also hc nrc could win if they wanted to win for non selfish reasons but that's literally just a hc wjdjsjjd) so I think RSA could be annoying in the way that they literally act like disney princes but I do believe they'd be genuinely kind. I'd take rolling my eyes at some boys being overly kind/being way too much over having to fight for my damn life everytime I wanna go to class bc you walked too close next to some douches and they're casting fireball at me bc of it. And ik Ambrose would be genuinely trying to get me home. Neige would probably let me crash w him. Friendship ended w nrc with a select few (Ik rook wouldn't be mad so we could still hang out)

like for me as a person, being surrounded by "perfect" people all the time (let's be real, I love the disney princesses but their "flaws" are usually morally neutral things like. clumsiness. or awkwardness. and always in an endearing way) would actually drive me crazy. I'm jealous and bitter and vindictive as a person, and as much as I try to be kind, I still have that deeeeep sense of moral insecurity yhat comes with like catholicism I think??? but that generally makes me feel very bad and have very mean thoughts about people who are better than me </3 I am WORKING ON IT though dw. so being at rsa would just be a constant cycle of self-hatred and growing resentment towards my peers. I would naturally default to the "villain". I would have a vil overblot episode

so the question for me becomes: would I rather have my emotional limits tested, or my physical limits? and the answer is neither because I would run away to do evil things with fellow and gidel
