This one has been in my WIP pile for... a while. It started as a sort of vent fic that was never intended to be published, but I've since decided there's a sad lack of Jason centric self harm fic so i get to be as self indulgent as i want lol

Unfortunately, the reason it's vol. 3 is because i keep flip flopping about how the other Bats react, and who Gets It and who doesn't.

Gonna put this snippet under a cut, just in case. It's not explicit self harm, but it does feature some fairly graphic imagery and depressed thinking;

“You say you’re not suicidal? Then explain to me what this is.” This is the opposite of that. If he lets the numbness take over, he won’t be able to surface again. Jason has dragged himself back once, he doesn’t have it in him again. This keeps the cold, yawning emptiness at bay when it gets so overwhelming that he’s almost tempted to let himself fall over that precipice. This reminds him he’s a real person when he feels like shattered bones and rotting flesh stuffed into a too-small sack of burned skin, when he feels like everything is fake, when he feels like floating away from his stinking, broken body would be the best of the bad options he’s got left. Jason doesn’t know how to explain any of that. Not to Golden Boy Grayson. Not when he’s looking at Jason like Jason is thirteen again and wearing the shortpants for the first time. Not when Dick is one wrong answer from going straight to Bruce. Jason swallows. Opens his mouth. He means to say, ‘I can’t,’ but what comes out is a short, sharp, “No.”
