To All The Shounen I’ve Loved Before v1

Hello co- anime / manga fans! As you may all know I am reviving this Tumblr account of mine. Too bad I deleted my previous one as I had anime reviews there as well (like my One Piece: Gold movie review). To make up for what I’ve lost, creating this post to commemorate the MangAnimes I’ve completed.

  Bleach

Byakuya Kuchiki is one of my husbandos **blush** During my Bleach phase, I was so really into the Shinigami world. I really like the insignias of the captains and the military type divisions (I am really into military stuff and ranks as a reservist myself). I even memorized the spelling of the Espadas (even said that I’ll name my future son as Ulquiorra Schiffer). Not much of a fan with the last war arc though. But man, the trickster of THE Aizen-sama still gives me the feelz. Plus, I am still really shipping Ichigo and Rukia, but nah since they have their children now, will just ship them lolz. There is news of an anime reboot for the last war arc, so let’s stay tune!

  Fairy Tail

What I like about Fairy Tail is it’s humor. It is a bit of a shoujo to me with all the love story and shipping, but the fights are great. Jellal Fernandez uwu (Erza, you lucky girl)

I really like the legacy and the lineage, especially with the dragons and dragon slayers, their generations and Silver-Gray’s, Gildarts-Cana’s, Ur-Ultear’s relationship issues (solved!). Zeref and Mavis’ tragic story is my highlight. I really wish them a good life together now (in their own world? with their problematic children? meh).

Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

So, this is just a recently concluded series that really swoon a lot of people (aww the feelzzz). The story is great with the family drama and heartbreaking, tragic scenes, divisions and all, the sword styles, the art, the fight scenes. To be honest, it was a bit short to me. I was expecting it to run a bit longer to showcase more of the character’s backstories – plus the ending was quite escalated. But the run was really great.

P.S. I’ve even bought Tanjiro’s earrings, planning to buy a haori too HAHAHA Oh hello there handsome, Giyu **blush**

Naruto

Can I say more? Man who doesn’t love Naruto? I think this series is one of the most famous ones of all time. And a lot of people in my generation loves this. It still hits me up to date Itachi’s sacrifices. Best shinobi everrrrr #husbando hihihi 

The tragic life Naruto had; the “villain’s” backstories will go straight to your heart. I still remember Chapter 700’s release and everyone were crying. Awww shocks to be honest I can’t say anything more, but pure love, pure, pure love for this, man. Why hello there easter egg, STRAWHAT JOLLY ROGER ke ke ke

Plussss so many husbandos hereeee AHAHAHAHA

There are still some unanswered mysteries but I guess the readers / watchers can pull off on the theories since that’s where the fun is anyway.

We have Boruto now, I’m reading / watching it, but to be frank – not much of a fan compared with the Naruto series. But we’ll see. (Y U KISHIMOTO HAB TO BYE BYE KURAMA AJUJUJU)

I was still very Tumblr dedicated when this series concluded, so I had prepared a dedicated tribute. Wahahaha Meliodas for the win! (imagine snatching an Elizabeth?)

Shokugeki no Soma

A different theme – cooking! Really love this feel good show. Even if it is a cooking theme, the fight scenes are still intense. I just wish we could see Soma and Erina ending up together.

The Promised Neverland

Talk about tragic. I cannot even begin with this series. “Struggle is real” is real with this one. I just really cannot describe this anymore- read / watch at your own risk.

Tokyo Ghoul

Another series I got hooked with. Tragic, deadly, psychotic. This is a series to describe those. The character jumps of Kaneki is unbelievable. Fight scenes incredible. I was really happy that he’ll live a happy life with Touka. (I can now use my Kaneki Ghoul Mask because of quarantine – not sure if that something to be happy about anyways (-_-). I also want to have a Hide in my life pleaaaaaaseeeee

My thoughts~

So i force myself to like SouEri but I don't know why but i can't seem to like their pairing. It's seems force huhu 😣. Even though i know that they might be the end game.

SouMegu still is the best pairing for me. The chemistry between them is the best! Though i like Erina alone and i ship her with Hisako (YURI PLS sensei make them them a thing.)

But what if there is a plot twist? Souma ends up with his childhood friend back in episode 1 of Season 1 from his Hometown (forgot her name. The short haired girl) 😂

We all know that one of the trademarks of Shokugeki no Souma is the striking variety of fanservice in a cooking anime. For me, personally, this has got to be the best one so far. /shot 

Doesn’t help that Junichi Suwabe’s smooth, velvety voice is like a slap of flavor to the face.

Shokugeki no Souma Season 3 Episode 3: Hujiao Bing

Hello hello! Welcome back! These were really fun for me! I enjoy making dough and pastry. But I learned I don’t know how to seal bread! Haha, I’m horrible at it. Pork juices everywhere! But it’s okay, it was still tasty.

Souma makes Hujiao Bing as his dish to compete against Kuga senpai.  They look so tasty inside the clay oven. I would LOVE to taste these on the streets of Taiwan one day! I bet they’re so crispy on the bottom and get that delicious flavor like naan does.

Because I didn’t know how to seal them, I had an excess amount of dough on the bottom of each one. Not that pleasant since it was too much in ratio to the meat.  I think I rolled it thin enough but maybe I’ll make the edges thinner next time and do a better job sealing them.  I did get a nice color on them though! Either way, fun to make and eat! :D

I don’t make a lot of bread or a lot of Chinese/Taiwanese food for that matter.  I glanced at different recipes online and used them as guides.  Apparently the hujiao just refers to pepper. Even though the anime says black pepper, I read that white pepper is used too. I think white pepper is more common in Chinese cuisine so I used both.

Ingredients:

AP Flour about 3 cups

Water  about 1 cup

Sugar ½ tsp

Dry Active Yeast 1 tsp

Salt ¼ tsp, a good pinch

Eggwash, one egg, splash heavy cream

Ground Pork

Soy Sauce

Sesame Oil

Chinese 5 Spice

Black Pepper

White Pepper

Green Onions

The anime references star anise too but I didn’t want to ground whole anise (sorry lazy!) They mention sesame oil and Chinese 5 spice so I used those.

Let’s start with the dough! I basically used a recipe off of a blog called ABCCooking. It’s like the first link that pops up on Google. Yes extensive research…

But I liked the simplicity of flour, water and yeast. I added sugar to help feed the yeast and a heavy pinch of salt for flavor.

Let the yeast sit with the sugar and about ¼ cup warm water. 

Add the flour and about ½ cup water. Mix by hand until it begins to come together. Add water a little at a time until all the flour gets incorporated.

I kneaded the dough until my arms got tired. Lol. Tossed it in the oven with the oven light on to rise. Maybe it was a little too warm?

Oops :P I let it rise for about an hour. I had to take it out of the oven because it was too hot.

White it was rising, I made the filling. Ground pork and seasonings! Make sure to cook off a little bit to taste it and adjust for personal preference. Even though you’re using soy sauce don’t forget to season with salt too!

I portioned out the dough into 4 pieces cause I wanted it to be big.  Weighed out to about 84 grams.  I saved HALF of the dough for the other dish Souma makes with it! Even if I don’t nail the broth on his other dish, I’m excited to turn these into noodles!

Rolled it out with a rolling pin. Used an ice cream scoop to help portion out the meat. Green onions just randomly placed on haha.  

My sad attempt at sealing them. Cry. How embarrassing! But it’s okay, I’m okay putting up failures too! (I think…)

Brushed with eggwash and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.  Placed the on a PREHEATED sheet tray to try to mimic that clay oven.  I had the oven at 375.  I believe I baked them for about 30 minutes.  

Yay! All done! Nice and golden brown! They were pretty tasty! Minus the excess dough. But yeah they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.  My pork wasn’t as juicy but esta okay.
