a/n; he's a country boy without being a country boy and i love him. that's it.

"isshiki, how long has this been... like... a plan?" you look at the large binder, it's filled to the brim with ruffled papers and it looks worn out. you open it and it's more than just a plan, it's at least a few years of research.

"well..." he sends you a cheeky smile. "you know...like... pshhh-" he laughs sheepishly. "since we were dating."

"isshiki, that's like 4 years. this looks like more than 4 years of research."

"and? i wanna live a farmer or even a cottage life with you!"

"we have polar star."

"but not for long! and plus, i just really like being with you. i wanna be with you as long as i can." he smiles gently and you can't help but soften. "i know it's a little weird to have something like this..." he flips through some pages, some are of pictures of barns, and some are just nice cabin and cottage homes. "but, i really do want to live a life with you."

you place a hand on his shoulder as he shifts closer to you, "you're ridiculous, you know that?" there's only fondness in your voice as you kiss his cheek. he presses his face onto your cheek while you hum, "at least it's a surefire sign that i know you're not gonna leave me for anyone else."

"would never even think of it. could never imagine me being with anyone else." he hummed. "but of course we don't have to live the farmer life. i would live any kind of life with you."

"and i would live any life with you."

"besides, i planned if you didn't want to be a farmer anyways!"

"just how much have you planned for...?"

a/n; hey yall.... how you been....? it's been a long time since i posted anything. sorry about that. been losing my mind over life but ya know that's the usual, im here to single handedly bring back the food wars enjoyers /j

reader is kind of based off of my own insomnia problems, i take gummies to sleep and stuff like that. some parts exaggerated but you get the idea.

isami really thought you were one of the few normal ones in the polar star dorm

he was dead wrong

bro saw you standing in the kitchen trying to not fall asleep

you look like soma that one time he was so tired that he fell asleep in the middle of a whole-ass competition

but at least he was mostly functioning at the time

you were not

you burned your pinky on the stove

isami was quick to care for you as megumi also attended to you being the panicky sweetheart she was

he asked you if this was a common occurrence as you seemed to have a various amount of small injuries littered on your body

megumi answers for you as you rub your eyes

"yeah... they have sleeping problems."

you nodded, "i try to get a good amount of sleep... that never really works..." you explain how you even go on melatonin to try to keep your sleeping hours consistent but it doesn't seem to be effective

and just like that you have a bestie that will look out for you other than megumi (and soma if he was feeling competent that day)

he's used to looking after his brother whenever he bonks heads with soma but you're a much different case

he knows how skilled you are with cooking but my god you are so unaware, he is your anxiety more than your own anxiety

he nudges you awake once in a while if you start to doze off standing up and near a hot stove

he takes care of your burns or cuts

he stays up with you over the phone until you fall asleep

he reminds you to take your melatonin

he is GOATED FR !! he a real one

he's so sweet too :(

also gives great physical comfort and warmth

as time went on, you were kind of just part of aldini family??

isami kept you around him ofc and takumi was just forced to accept it lmao

takumi didn't hate it at all, he was more harsh abt your habits in his tsundere-esque way

but he warmed up to you too

Sorry this took a while! I'm not too active on this blog anymore (if it wasn't obvious but I am cooking up an AU that I might write) but I got you.

Akira actually thinks Soma's food is delicious so he's pretty much always ok with testing Soma's new experiments, only to forget the culinary monstrosities he can come up with

Nose plugs are a common sight during these times

They are the "enemies to rivals to lovers" trope only they're still rivals while lovers. (Honestly, Soma is this with like 90% of the ships he's in)

Akira can be overwhelmed with just how much prep and experimentation Soma does and it inspires him to work even harder

The two of them bond over the trauma of being smacked by Jun

Once Soma gets to travelling around the world, he always looks for things and new spices that he thinks Akira will love (and some he knows Akira will hate)

Akira opens his own restaurant when he's older and every now and then Soma cooks at it when he's not travelling. Demand sky rockets on those days

Akira introduces Soma to high fashion while Soma gets Akira into trash "reality" TV. They both hate and love each other for that

They adopt a cat who Soma names "Peanut Butter". Akira is annoyed to no end that the cat only answers to that

The day Akira calls the cat "PBJ" Soma is so happy he holds onto Akira the whole day

Akira sometimes uses Soma's fingers as replacements for his cinnamon sticks to smell. Soma thinks it's one of the most attractive things Akira does.

he knows his dad won't royally fuck up his wedding (he thinks) but there is an inkling of anxiety when he's reminded of his disgusting creations, especially when his dad got up to do his little speech. it's not like his dad was the only chef for tonight, ryo and hayama had also joined the fray, perhaps to honour their previous victory as the top 3 at the autumn elections.

"stop hovering," joichiro grumbled, seasoning the meat at his work station. "you're supposed to be sitting down with your partner, go do that."

soma whined in response, reaching to grab a knife but got his hand slapped away. "what if you serve something gross?"

"i won't, i won't."

"soma!" you called, arms crossed. "you asked them to cater, let them do their thing," you said, pulling him away from the kitchen.

he sighed as he was dragged along, but called out to his dark-haired companion before he was forced out. "i can cook better than you, i'm married and you're not!"

"HUH?!"

"even hayama got married before you," he continued, a mischievous grin glued to his lips.

"I'LL CATCH THAT BOUQUET AND SHOW YOU I'M HUSBAND MATERIAL!" ryo yelled, earning a cackle from soma as he ran back into the reception hall.

they say old habits die hard, and that certainly is the case for tsukasa. shuffling his way to the kitchen, he twiddled his thumbs as he watched his elite ten cohort churn out dishes with knitted brows and a trembling gaze.

"tsukasa, you're the one who stopped us from having fun at your wedding, at least let us do our job," rindou teased, searing the meat in her pan.

he gasped in horror, "you're not having fun? should i have asked someone else to do it? what if the others aren't having fun? what if people are only here because they felt bad-"

"come back to the reception hall, tsukasa, people want to talk to you and congratulate you," you stated, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder. "they've got it covered, you know these people are good."

"ok..." he mumbled, timidly walking away.

"oi, tsukasa! you owe us a round of drinks after we're done here!" rindou called, a cat-like grin on her features.

"ah, please don't get drunk at my wedding!" he cowered, immediately running back to the kitchen.

"you're being a bad husband by leaving your spouse alone," she joked, shaking her head in faux disappointment.

"am i?!"

"yup," you confirmed, gripping his hand and dragging him back into the reception hall as he fretted over his capabilities as a husband.
