Name: Toshizō Kuda, Nickname: Tosh, Shizo, Hero Alias: Creature, Pronouns: He/Him, Birthday: October 23rd, Birth Place: New York, America, would eventually move to; Tokyo, Japan: Roppongi District, Zodiac: Scorpio, Age: TBD based on Arc, but sixteen if it's the first U.A. Arc. Class: 1B, Nationality: Japanese ( mother's side ), Italian/American (father's side ), Languages: Japanese, English, Religion: Agnostic, Sexuality: Homosexual, Alignment:

Appearance: He's relatively tall in comparison to other students at U.A. being 5'9" but you wouldn't notice, mostly due to his sullen slouching. He has messy above shoulder length black hair, that partially hangs in front of his face and often, half-opened orange slightly glowing eyes. His eyes have very dark bags underneath them, looking tired and flat.

He's also quite pale and is usually recognized for his worn-out appearance, often appearing as if he just rolled out of bed ( he probably did ). His teeth are straight and pearly white, although he doesn't show them off very much and his expression is normally just as tired looking as the rest of him. His nose is longish and comes to a bit of a point and his eyebrows are somewhere in between think and thin. He has long eyelashes and his build as far as his body goes is somewhat in shape but could be more so, he does have slightly broad shoulders at any rate.

Casual clothing wise he's always wearing a pair of red converse with white laces, they're worn out and pretty dirty looking. He likes tall white socks, ripped up jeans and normally sports either a flannel shirt, tacky button up or dark washed hoodie over whatever probably horror themed shirt he's wearing.

His hero costume is a black poncho, black gloves, black bulky boots and black skinny jeans, ( smh what an emo kid ) with no mask, he's already got a skeletal head 90% of the time anyway so he doesn't think he needs one.

Personality: Toshizō has always known his Quirk was more villain than hero but even if he didn't others have always been sure to remind him. He could recall a time when his quirk first manifested in the worst of ways, after watching a particularly scary movie at a sleepover he was having, where he ended up overly scared and in a panic only for his body to break and shatter into the very creature from the movie. His friends suddenly we're no longer his friends, they screamed and cried as he stalked the living room, tearing up everything in sight.

If it wasn't for his parents waking up and realizing that was indeed their child he could have probably ended up six feet under. Needless to say nobody ever wanted to come over to that 'creature's house' anymore. This would cause two things, one, the once bubbly child in him to seemingly disappear and two, his love for something that caused all of this. The very thing he was scared of, horror. It's not like he had anything else after all.

His personality would shift from a very extroverted young boy to one that was closed off, aloof, tired and sometimes a bit sarcastic. But he still longed to be the hero he once set out to be, to control and quell the creature(s) inside of himself, to show others that he wasn't the monster arch type that wanted to destroy, but the misunderstood type that was perhaps more human than most humans. He is a rather sensitive individual now, but he still takes care to mind himself and others. His paranoia is his biggest fault as a person though and often causes him problems with others and himself, over the years it's got worse and left him more anxious.

He's trying his best though to overcome that aspect about himself though, as it often causes problems with his quirk too and he doesn't want to end up killing himself or hurting others.

Equipment:

° Caffeine pills, to help keep him awake longer before he passes out after using his quirk at maximum for too long.

° Journal of monster's, one's that he came up with for reference should he need it. It's not safe for him to shift into things he doesn't fully grasp the concept of, so he likes to have something on hand to look at depending on the situation. Plus it helps him to get into the emotional state he needs to be in for each creature, sort of like an actor getting ready for a role, or at least that's what he tells himself.

Quirk: Emotional Body Shifting.

Toshizo's emotional state can change what his body manifests into. Usually due to his sullen nature he sports a skeletal head on his otherwise normal body, sometimes his body becomes more skeletal the more depressed he gets. When he feels happy and like himself he looks like any normal human being, however due to being a very paranoid/emotional individual, ( plagued with nightmares and very much into the horror genre as a hobby ) when he uses his quirk at it's full advantage, often times his body contorts to nightmarish and horrifying forms.

In addition he gains whatever usefulness or downsides comes with such monstrous bodies. He is prone to pass out after using his quirk too much or too long, rendering him useless and needing his body looked after. He can end up throwing up blood when he strains his body too much, it's not enough to really be concerned about but it happens. It should be noted that when his body shifts into these 'creatures' it's quite literally a shift, bones breaking, skin ripping, it's very painful depending on how inhuman they look, the pain can cause him to lose control if he isn't used to that form. Some forms are easier than others, as he's practiced them slowly over the years, so usually he tries to stray away from large enough forms to cause him body discomfort.

The longer he's in more monstrous and large forms the weaker he becomes, often times the forms are cumbersome and slow, ( it should be noted that he isn’t slow enough to not be able to hold his own however in his usual forms ). The more emotional he gets the less he can control himself and has a chance of shifting into something even worse on his body. It's basically an ability for more quick power and scare factor than fighting long term as it takes a toll on him, both physically and emotionally. What he gains in shear power and intimidation he looses in stamina, sometimes speed and health.

The quirk itself is a variation of shape shifting, that's more dependent on his emotional state than anything else. Like he can shift into things ( usually monster's because that's what he's into ) but he's got to be in the right head space to control it, or shape shift into something he wants. It takes a toll on his body, because I was inspired by those old werewolf movies, where it's quite literally a shift in body structure. His bones and everything all smooth themselves back, like it would be initially painful if he's shape shifting into something less human like he normally does, that he isn’t used to.

I imagine he's more interested in being a powerhouse, than like in an espionage role by shape shifting into humans or something. The only thing being if he did shift into something too big, it could cause him enough pain to lose control until he passed out from the body trauma. When he loses control it's more along the lines of when Tokoyami lost control in the woods, it's something I don't think would happen often and even if it did would require him to shape shift into a large enough form to lose control, he'd pass out fast and be very cumbersome and slow, meaning easy to get away from over all.

SO TLDR the drawbacks to his ability are as follows: If he shape shifts into something too big he won't be able to emotional or psychically handle the strain, his body will lose stability, so he'll lose control before passing out. His forms are normally slow, he lacks speed, stamina and health with the current practiced forms in favor of a power and intimidation factor. He also can't shape shift into anything he hasn't practiced, at least well.

So nothing on the fly without training as far as new forms go. His emotional state can alter if he's even able to hold onto the form for very long without messing it up or losing control/passing out, as that's probably the main aspect to the ability as far as drawbacks go. If he's too emotional he's going to be unfocused and thus unable to to even shape shift properly.

Childhood History: ( see above in personality for how his quirk manifested ) Born to a mother with Nightmare Manipulation and a Shape Shifting father, Toshizō was bound to have some sort of decent ability, his parents just never expected it to be an ability with such a double edged sword to it. He was raised in a warm household and had a very much normal childhood, anytime he had any nightmares his mother would quell them away.

Anytime he wanted to play pretend his father could shift into all sorts of his favorite hero's, if only for a short time. They nurtured him, but eventually when his Quirk manifested that all seemed to no longer help him.

He would grow distant from them, focused on what brought him comfort, the nightmares no longer plagued him like they used to, the only game of pretend he wanted to play anymore, would be the kind with his eyes glued to the television screen. He loves his parents sure and they still love and support him but that distance only seems to grow with time.

In Toshizō's youngest years his father inspired him to become a hero, it had always been his father's dream. While the man never pushed it on him, it was an unspoken sort of thing that would initially drive him to become a hero, a real one, the kind his dad could become in theory but never truly. At his core he wants to make his parents proud, even if he shy's away from them currently and even if that isn't his only motive now anymore that his quirk has manifested.

Extra: °He loves horror movies to probably an unhealthy degree, he has shelves of them and his room is littered with posters all over the walls. He even collects horror masks that he keeps in a glass light up cabinet, ironic given his hero costume doesn't have one.

° His favorite Pro Hero is Godzillo.

° Toshizō’s favorite food is Yakitori, his least favorite is Dumplings.

° He likes cats, dislikes birds and is indifferent to other small animals and dogs.

° He drinks way more soda than any one person should, it's pretty much all he drinks, it's a wonder the caffeine pills he takes even work.

° His father's ability was pretty much perfected, except he could never get the voices down pat, due to this his ability was pretty much useless to become a hero, as it would become clear quick that he wasn't really who he shape shifted into. He went to U.A but never completed it's courses, mostly due to the above. He would eventually become an accountant.

° His mother studies sleep patterns and helps people with sleeping disorders for a living. Sometimes he thinks she still creeps into his dreams, particularly the nightmares, to check on him and soothe him like she used to. He doesn't tell her he knows and she doesn't ever mention it.

° His main monster form is a wendigo skeletal deer type of creature, it's tall and bulky, but not quite as big as he can make his form. Mostly because the bigger the creature the more he can't control it, or hold the form for very long. Still, It's a very foreboding and looming type of creature, with long arms, large upper shoulders and chest. As well as extending claws and jutting horns. This form is the slower of the three forms he can currently do well, but it’s also the strongest.

° Another form he can do currently is a werewolf like creature with multiple eyes and a protruding spine, with a row of crocodile like teeth and jaws. The creature's tail is long much like the aforementioned crocodile. This is his in between form as far as speed and power are concerned currently, it’s also smaller than the aforementioned form.

° He’s currently about to start practicing on a faster form just in case he needs an escape plane, or for any other reason to need such. Appearance wise it’s still in a conceptual stage and hasn’t been practiced much, he’s thinking something snake like in appearance but he isn’t sure. All he knows is he needs to get sure of himself quick for the academy.
