Little intro
Hey, I’m The Author of the Magika, a story concept about five magical girls and one magical boy because 12-year old me needed a love interest. This is gonna be my blog all about my writing journey, featuring my characters revamps from their Mary Sue, Barbie versions into the traumatized kids they are today.
The concept of the Magika was that twin sisters, Grace and Cassandra Covey, found they were magic and went on a quest with their newfound magic friends to save the magical realm, Ajencia. Grace was little me’s perfect self-insert, and Cass was mostly there for being the fashion sister.
now, they have much more trauma, and they’re developed characters!
I’ll introduce you to all of my main six in depth, but here’s a quick overview because it’s 3 in the morning:
Grace Covey. Previously Little Miss Perfect, now Little Miss Anxiety, Trauma, & Loyalty. She’s intelligent, fiercely loyal to her family, and can fist-fight well. She blames herself for her parents’ deaths.
Cassandra “Cass” Covey. No longer just the fashion sister, Cass loves her sister and can have some himbo moments. She’s clever, a big people-pleaser, and lager discovers she has the magic of animal shapeshifting like her father.
Lisa Garcia. This bubbly girl now has an actual personality outside of food and speaking Spanish. Lisa still has her six brothers, and still has Healer magic, but now she’s a funky little lesbian with a supportive girlfriend and the only one of the six who maintains a stable relationship throughout the whole series. Also probably the most mentally sound.
Sayaka Miyahira. This force-field deploying Protector is the logical voice in the group, always has been. Her parents, despite their divorce, are still friends and love and support her no matter what. Sayaka loves engineering design and even crafts her own arrow tips.
Hunter Wing. The one that 12-year-old me wrote was pretty stupid. This Hunter is better in every way. He goes from rivals to best friends to lovers with [redacted], has an amazing family, and to top it all off, this Hunter is British. Yep.
