i'm sorry...?
*coughs and looks around nervously* Uhh, here. *drops shit and runs* The devil came for me and I pulled back the covers and let him in
Harvey likes to think that his emotions are locked away behind a façade of confidence and indifference. Which in truth, is enough to fool most people, but not Rachel. More than once Rachel has witnessed that mask drop as he watches Mike from a distance; watches the admiration, the pride, the love as it flits through Harvey’s eyes at warp speed before casual detachment slips back into place.
...........
She knows that as long as Harvey Specter and Mike Ross exist in the same space, they will always be drawn together, knows that the string that connects them will never snap, no matter how far it stretches.
...........
She knows that Mike will spend his life with her, making her happy. Giving her everything she'd ever wanted, living the life they'd envisioned. They’d have children and a house in the 'burbs, a summer house in the Hamptons maybe. Family vacations, and holidays, a perfect life in pictures. But deep down she knows that it would only be a half truth for Mike. There would always be a part of him that belonged only to Harvey; a part of him that she would never be able to reach and the question she really had to ask herself was, was that okay with her.

Just a few hours ago I saw the comments on some of them and holy shit tiktok children are some of the most braindead individuals i have ever seen
I'm fine with reposts, and if I wasn't, I know I wouldn't be able to stop them
What's pissing me off rn is that my stuff is getting attention from *that* crowd, the booger eating snot nosed mocosos de mierda who are so privileged their main problems are "what's skrimblo skromblo doing now? omg is it problematic??? omg theyre like so evil 💀💀"

Like I'm legit about to enter another joker era, I can't believe this is what fandom spaces are now, what is wrong with people
Sorry I'm using this as a vent post or whatever but honestly I'm tired of being subservient when it comes to these fucking people, at one point a bitch has gotta explode
"Why do you care so much about what ppl say abt you online"
Because I have Seen what happens when you shut up about it. You either address it indirectly or become tiktoklovr103892's punching bag, there's no in between. Each second of silence is an admission of guilt for these motherfuckers
And I know that at the end of the day it doesn't matter but bro just allow me to be emotional over having an online space where I can have fun and take a break from life, be riddled with people who I've seen talking like they're praying for my downfall
Seriously what the fuck
What. the fuck.

I've seen in one of your post saying that Checo and Nico Hulkenburg kinda fall off?? I've known that they race in Gp2 at the same time and look quite closed. But they don't look close (from what I see) anymore. Genuinely asking, what happened between those two??
Side note: Love your blogs btw. It's so informative and positive 💕💕.
Oh yes, if we are talking history, I think Checo and Nico are similar to Brocedes. Nico and Checo were competing together in GP2, sharing a few podiums and being cute together:
Tumblr media
Look at them! They were just babies. Loving how Nico always had his arm around Checo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They became sort of friends, Checo has always said he admires Nico and he is his biggest competition. He has told his Dad, his brother, and in interviews. With his Dad, he said that if Nico ever made it to a big team, that would be the hardest fight. And to his brother, who asked him who was the strongest driver he had competed, Checo said 'Hulkenberg without a doubt'.
Nico entered F1 a year before Checo, so they kind of drifted apart... until they become teammates in Force India. But as close as they were, also they were extremely competitive. Otmar (head of the team) said that they were always trying to outdo each other, Hulkenberg managed the first year they were teammates, and Checo did it the second year, right when Nico decided to leave the team.
Those two years we witnessed them being competitive even in the team dynamics. There was an origami challenge and Checo was super pissed because Nico actually knew how to do that, it was wild. I think that created a little strain between them, but it wasn't as noticeable because we were in the middle of the divorcing of Brocedes, and that took the cake.
By the final year of Nico in the team, they were a little off, and not as close as before, standing in different places in the drivers' parade. Never stopped talking or made passive-agressive digs at each other like Brocedes (or crashed into each other), but the distance was there.
They seemed to reconnect when Nico moved to another team... but then 2020 came.
Apparently Max and Marko wanted Hulkenberg for the seat in RBR, and Horner wanted Checo. In the end, Checo got it, and Hulkenberg was out of a seat; these are just rumours, but apparently that didn't sit well with Nico and strained their relationship again. I read interviews with Nico saying that he was in talks with RBR, but Checo won in Sakhir and that sealed the deal.
Also, and that's beside the point but it adds to people perceiving some sort of feud between Checo and Nico, Nico was a little agressive with Checo, kicking him (playfully, never in a bad way), pouring things on him (those were more questionable) and making unfortunate comments about Checo. Nico is just like that, like when he approached KMag and said a sarcastic comment, and my shipper side saw this as pulling imaginary pigtails, but that's just my delusions.
Now Nico and Checo seem to be keeping a respectful distance, but not as close as they were before; they chat and act friendly, but not as teasing and sarcastic as they once interacted (they both were little shits and kept making weird jokes).
That's why I want Checo to go to Audi, so they reconnect once more and revive Hulkenrez!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at them! Power couple!!! 💖💖💖
Sorry for the long rant @lunarprophetuwu , as you can see, Hulkenrez is one of my weak spots. I hope I could actually clarify things and not make it more confusing.
And thank you for your lovely comments!! Happy of meeting amazing people like you who enjoy fandom without being mean! Hugs for you! 🤗🤗
I leave you with the power couple, even in different teams:
Tumblr media
Checo likes' them tall your honor.

Your blog is my guilty pleasure lol, it's so validating to read your very matter of fact rebuttals after years of being talked over & down to in the fandom. Being in the fan space & hearing the way people talked about how much more "female gaze coded" Z/tara was made me feel like I was betraying other women by not liking Zuko or Zutara the way "real mature" women did.
Funniest thing is, when i watched the show as a kid as an older sister, someone with talent/skills that nobody else understood, a girl who felt she had to be mature all the time, Kataang instantly became my otp. Katara was living my dream of a fun, cute boy sweeping me off my feet, telling me I was special and going on a magical journey with me-- I had the HUGEST crush on Aang as a little girl. It was so lame growing older and hearing near constantly from the fandom how stupid and unbelievable the idea that Katara actually had feelings for Aang was, and how it's a "male" (aka: bad) fantasy, when honestly Zuko's angsty ass was far from dream boyfriend material in my opinion it made me feel gaslit fjhdidjskj.
Genuine Z/tara fans are fine, I totally get the appeal of the red/blue enemies to lovers sparks fly ship, but the meanest and loudest of your crewmates and the way they act like their tastes are the Correct ones has been just. ridiculous for many years. And why do those types always feel the need to start the conversation by bashing Kataang every single time?? I started with a positive opinion of their ship when I entered the fandom as a teen, even liked a few arts and whatnot as a "what-if," but all the nonsense has left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
So yeah, thanks for this space to complain about the experiences we've had lol. I've had one too many conversations about ATLA & how good it is interrupted with the other person going "well except for the Main Romance, that was shit and Z/tara should have been endgame" not to be Worn Out. Like if in their opinion the show is *perfect* except that One thing.... maybe the problem lies elsewhere?
Yup, that's definitely a pattern I noticed: zutarians are SO many and SO loud, that even though a pretty large part of the fandom disagrees with their takes (regardless of enjoying the canon ships or not) most of them just... didn't talk about it because they didn't want to be harrassed or talked down to or be hit with the "well, we are the majority therefore we're right" argument.
It's part of why I was innitially shocked at how much support this blog got. I thought I just gonna be in my own little bubble of the fandom, but nope, I got sooooo many messages of "FINALLY! Somebody said it!"
And looking back, I should've noticed something was off. There's a reason ATLA's ending was not one of these disasters that basically nukes and kills 90% of the fandom and live in infamy as one of the worst falls from grace ever, How I Met Your Mother style, even though both shows had the fan favorite ship not end together.
It wasn't just that one was well-written and the other wasn't (though that clearly affected the audience and critical reception of these endings, both at the time and through the decades).
HIMYM was a case of "The actual endgame ship was loathed by nearly everyone while the rival pairings were almost universally beloved."
ATLA was a case of "70% of the fandom likes this ship - of these fans, 25% are multishipers that also like the canon ships, 25% only like the ship in fanfic but don't actually want it to be a thing, 25% loves it but can accept it not being canon at point because they acknowledge it'd be rushed, and the 25% are the ones that would burn down Bryke's house if they could, so in reality only a fraction of the fandom didn't accept the Kataang/Maiko endgame, while the overwhelming majority was either happy about it or indifferent to it"
And that's without taking into account that Avatar got new popularity boosts through the years that lead to plenty of people that had Zutara being hyped up for years being disappointed when they realized "Oh, it was popular because of fanon shit, not because it actually would have made sense story-wise" or people who reached that same conclusion after rewatching the show.
I think that's why Zutarians have such a victim complex and want to pretend Bryke and Kataang/Maiko fans are "oppressing" them - they've been dominating the conversation for years, and not only got no results out of it, they're now losing that "leverage" too. They're no longer in an echo-chamber, they need to use actual arguments that make sense if they want their opinion to be almost universal and they just can't do it because their ship was never that good to begin with.

Waking Up
Fandom: Repo! The Genetic Opera
Parings: Luigi Largo x Reader
Word Count: 1,414
Warnings: Scars, talk of surgery, mentions of addiction, cursing, talks of violence
Series: Genetic Repossession
Author's note: A straight continuation of Better Me Than You. Just a short little fic to detail a little fallout and Luigi getting to display a slightly softer side.
Tumblr media
Beeping. A gentle, steady beep. It was the first thing that registered. A gentle tickle on the brain that brought you back to the conscious world. Slowly. Disoriented and feeling like you were swimming through a dense fog, it was a struggle to latch onto the feeling of waking and not get pulled right back under. That was until a not so gentle touch yanked at your head, causing a groan to slip from a chest that seemingly didn't want to expand right away.
“For fuck sakes!” A familiar harsh voice yelled out, breaking the peaceful quiet of the room. “Be fucking careful or I'll take those fucking hands and mount them like God damn trophies on the wall. How the fuck did you ever become a fucking nurse?” It took effort but finally, you forced your eyes open. The world was blurry for several long seconds as you tried to blink your vision clear. Low lights made the adjustment easier, no harsh fluorescent lights greeting. A thud sounded somewhere off to the side but there wasn't enough energy or care within you to turn your head. Right now, the focus needed to be on what the hell happened.
‘“I'll get the doctor…”
“You fucking do that,” the voice barked. Warmth encompassed your hand and finally, Luigi came into focus. There was a hesitant smile on his face. “Hey there, sweetheart.” Oh, shit. A soft pet name. Yeah, it had to be bad. Your throat and mouth felt incredibly dry, as if someone had filled it with cotton. A soft cough came when you opened your mouth to respond, though it hardly hurt the way that could have been expected.
“I…”
“Easy. Here.” The water was soothing and cold as it washed down. Definitely helpful. The room spun a little when you shifted your head again. Before Luigi could say anything else, a doctor came in. A soft greeting before the exam started, though right then as he babbled, words you should understand sounded foreign.
“We'll start weening back the medication, hopefully clear your head up a bit. I know things probably aren't making a lot of sense right now…” Well, that was hitting the nail on the head. Your vision started to blacken at the corners, slowly creeping and consuming your field of vision. “Get some more rest.”
Your head felt significantly more clear the next time your eyes opened. A little sore and sorry. The room was quiet. Not a typical hospital room. Grunting softly, it took a little effort to shift your weight and work to a seated position. The family home, your room with Luigi, that was where you were specifically. Part of you was surprised and part of you wasn't all things considered. Curiosity got the better of you before anything else. No one else was in the room, so you took the opportunity to carefully pull back the covers and pull up the shirt. A large wound ran across the left side of your abdomen, sutures keeping the skin shut. Where the knife had entered you and likely where another, that one by skilled hands, tried to do damage control. Across your chest was a marring wound that didn't require sutures as it hadn't pierced flesh deep enough to require such treatment. Alive. You were alive. Something you should be grateful for, even if it broke the streak of never having had surgery.
The door opened.
“Shit, you're awake.” The shirt dropped from your hand, as if you were guilty of doing something that you shouldn't be. Luigi quietly closed the door behind him and moved to the bedside. “Had to replace your liver, bastard really got a good jab into you…” You would never expect him to be all that great at comfort and it was apparent he was struggling at the moment. Giving him a reprieve, you offered a small smile.
“And I take it that he was relieved of his own?” That seemed to lessen his worry and the uneasy nature about him that was a little unnatural feeling. As if he had been unsure how you would handle everything. “I'm honestly a little surprised to be awake at all…”
“It was close,” he admitted. “Doctors weren't all that sure you were going to wake up.” He settled down on the edge of the bed, careful to not jostle you too much.
“I thought I was dead when my knees hit the ground.” Which was the truth. You had accepted that your dying act had been protecting the man beside you. A worthy trade in your eyes.
“Shit fucking security has been dealt with too. How the fuck he got in there and that close with a weapon is ridiculous.” The words grew in volume, Luigi seething as if the event was happening all over again. It was a valid point. No one should have ever gotten that close or been allowed in with a hidden blade. Everybody was supposed to be checked. Not only to keep the Largo's safe but for the general safety of the event. It looked bad when shit like what had happened actually happened.
“And the PR nightmare that is surely causing a shitstorm?” He rolled his eyes in response.
“Nothing that you have to worry about right fucking now. You aren't getting paraded in front of the press until you can actually stand up.” Judging by the fact that you were able to sit up with pain, you thought that it may be at least a week before you would be able to get yourself to your feet and put on a face that did not show just how much discomfort and pain that you were in. Being able to school your features was too important in order to maintain appearances, so you would have to take it careful.
“Right.”
“I mean it. I don't give a shit what my father says. You are staying in bed and healing until you get a clear from the other docs.” You held up a hand, hoping to placate the man before he ended up stabbing whoever came into the room next. A high possibility on a normal day but judging by the slight redness to his cheeks, he was particularly worked up.
“I'll keep my ass in bed until given the all clear.” Repeating back the near order had him pausing and returning his eyes to yours. It accomplished just what you had hoped as his shoulders dropped a bit, his body going just slightly more slack. Tension unwinding from a constantly tense man. There was something on the tip of his tongue as he went to start speaking and thought better of it after a second. Silence reigned for a moment, neither of you willing to say something right away, for different reasons. You wanted to know what it was that he had been ready to say, while he was restraining himself. Until finally, finally he broke.
“Did you need any more Zydrate?” Ah, now it made sense. As uncomfortable as you were starting to be, the dull throbbing becoming more insistent and increasing in intensity as you sat there, you weren't willing to mask it. For multiple reasons. One of which was clearly on his mind. Shaking your head, you decided to recline yourself slowly instead, hoping it relieved enough pressure on the wounds to calm them down mildly.
“No, I'm okay. Would be preferable to not have to take any more.” It was impossible to miss the small sigh that rushed out of him. One addict in the family was enough. “Rather be uncomfortable and have a clear head anyway. Hated that I couldn't understand what was being told to me when I woke the first time.”
“It gets bad enough you don't need to go being a martyr. Take the fucking medicine, okay?” You nodded your consent, even though you both knew that there was a likelihood that you would ignore it entirely. His hand engulfed yours again and you used what little strength that you had left to give him a tug. A silent request for him to just lay down beside you. He grumbled a bit, an attempt at putting on a show, before he did just that. Carefully, his body settled down onto the bed beside you and with just as much care, his arm wrapped around your waist. Warmth seeped into your skin. Settling enough that you began to drift off once more.

Can I just say how much I appreciate the fact you don't stray much from the movies?
It's just so refreshing to see a fic that is built on a clear, unbiased and simple canon base. This way, as you demonstrated, a writer not only has the ability to further explore the main themes and ideas introduced in the source material, but they can also go ahead and naturally develop their own by branching out on those fundamentals. They can offer their perspective by using the source material to their advantage, instead of working against it or even worse, trying to include all contradicting canon aspects. Part of writing a fic is kind of like offering your input in a conversation/disagreement. You have to listen carefully to what the other person is saying in order to form your answer...If you're listening to a thousand different people who are all saying a different thing (in this case, The clone wars, legends, novels, comics ect), you won't be able to give an answer that makes sense, much less give a structured and stable opinion.
I love how you were like "I know star wars is entering an era of a shit ton of spin off content with seemingly no end and most star wars fans know shit like who chewie lost his virginity to and what the kessel run is but screw this. The movies and maybe some late night wiki research is enough."
And you were right.
It's so funny, because I feel like I do ultimately stray pretty far from the movies. Not in terms of events I guess, but especially the prequels, I reject some of the underlying assumptions of what is said on screen and just treat it like fallible people strongly asserting opinions that no one calls them on. See: everything I ever assert about the Force/Anakin's "destiny."
I do think it helped me to stick with limited material. And it wasn't even because I saw all of this new SW content coming. I've mentioned this before, but when I started writing Don't Look Back (when it was just Like Fire and I naively believed I was gonna be done in 200k words, lol, rip past me) I hesitated a lot because as far as I was concerned, I wasn't a Star Wars Fan.
I'd watched the OT and PT multiple times. I knew that novels and games and cartoons existed, I knew people had consumed them all. I had been reading some SW fic because @mylongsufferingroommate had been sending me stuff they were enjoying and I was having fun with it. But like, I would never have called myself a Fan. I got goaded into writing this fic by people who knew me too well and really wanted a political thriller. I wouldn't have called them Star Wars Fans either.
Limiting myself to the six movies I had watched was a preemptive defense mechanism against a fan base I wasn't sure would want to accept me. My thin skin is my own problem, but every time I think about writing in a new fandom the same sort of nerves take me: what if my fanon is "wrong" and people are mean?
I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you so much to everyone who gave me a chance and encouraged me and were excited and shared that excitement.
And please, for the love of all the sky and stars DON'T GATEKEEP FANDOMS.
Don't tell people their canon is too big (@blue-sunshine-mauve-morning and @chancecraz have amazing fics that are much more compliant than mine to the broader canon, as a quick example), and definitely don't tell people their canon is too small. Walk away if you aren't enjoying something. Give compliments when you like something that is unique in a fandom you're familiar with. Be patient with people, be kind.
I could easily have given this story up if people hadn't been patient with me. I got comments as early as my first chapter from people who were angry with a single thing that I said and felt the need to tell me I was wrong. I could have left. I could have stopped.
I'm glad I didn't. But I wonder how many other people have.

The wildest part about people being mad on Imogen's behalf is Imogen herself understood Keyleth's position in spite of her own wishful thinking, helps acquire the blue flowers for her, was the first to acknowledge the Changebringer's help, and the first to say "I'm sorry" to Orym losing more of his people. I'm really baffled to read these "Orym is manipulative" takes and that it was dangerous of Keyleth to validate his anger. Do you think it goes back to the god stuff, or is it just Imodna?
I think a little of column A, little of column B, little of several other things. Since I've been on the "hey could we consider that Imogen and Laudna are adult women who are responsible for their own actions" train for over a year, the specific "Imogen can be mean-spirited as well as unintentionally insensitive" train since at least this past February, and the "Orym is correct and Bor'Dor signed his own death warrant by casting Vitriolic Sphere at a group of people who were not violent towards him" train for a month, let's break it down.
There are a small handful of people in the fandom who just really hate Liam. Per a very salty rant I put into my drafts shortly after 3x63 to describe this type of person, it is a small, scattered, bizarre group of people who for no apparent reason have decided to be foaming-at-the-mouth levels of furious because, as far as I can tell, a nerdy Gen X-er dad who went to Tisch is kind of corny sometimes. Anyway nothing he does will ever sit well with them so we can ignore them forever. Moving on.
Some is Imodna; I thought the whole issue of Imogen and Laudna as agency-less infants against a cruel world would have been ameliorated by them entering a canon relationship (one currently compatible with the 2013 Pinterest board vibes of fanon no less) but it appears to have not been the case. For more on this, see this still relevant post and, while I personally haven't ever written something up, there's just, again, a complete black hole of empathy from a segment of the fandom when it comes to any of the other characters; my post from this morning about Imogen as compared to Caleb touches upon it. You know the Far Side cartoon where a guy is talking to his dog and the dog only recognizes a small handful of words? I feel this is similar, like, they see that Imogen wanted one thing and Orym and Keyleth wanted another thing that wasn't even, as you point out, terribly incompatible, and then the "well if not thing Imogen wants and not 100% deferential to her then BAD BAD BAD" attitude kicked in.
But I do think, in the end, a lot of it does come back to if not the gods exactly, the idea that the Vanguard is, unmistakably, the enemy. They are not the revolution here to usher in a new era of rule by the people. Keyleth is not here to raze Vasselheim to the ground but to have a diplomatic discussion; neither is she here to grant any leniency to the woman who attacked Vax regardless of her connection to Imogen. And she finds the idea of a world without the gods, regardless of her own personal feelings, to be one to be avoided. [sidebar: I hope we get Matt on 4SD; I am wondering, after the one-two-three punch of Hevestro, the Raven Queen, and Keyleth all placing a heavy thumb on the scale opposing the Vanguard if he did not expect the party to be as conflicted about the role of the gods and is trying to wind up an argument that I think as of last episode reached the end of its useful life.] When you couple that with Orym's positive attitude towards the gods, that explains the animosity towards him.
The undermining of Orym's position over the past few episodes has always been one of emotion. First he was not objective - as if anyone else was objective! As if any moral decision is ever 100% objective! We all have biases! What kind of early 2000s atheist forum shit are you on to claim perfect rationality that conveniently matches the ideas that apparently came to you in a godless vision? It's insane. Then it was his grief; grief makes you irrational (unless you're Imogen grieving Laudna, in which case you are objectively right at all times, even as you shout down every other suggestion, beseech Laudna's first murderer, not a month later consider the potential validity of the her second, and try to to undo her immutable past) and remember, moral decisions must be made by the rational. Then it was his impatience (nevermind that Imogen has absolutely no patience). And now it's his anger, and he's apparently been manipulating the party the whole time by...having suggestions for the group which he mentions, and openly stating what he was feeling and what he wanted, and not intuiting that Laudna reawoke Delilah with his approximately no magical ability and then encouraging her to finish a job she had started herself. Because god Rational Objective Conceptual Being forbid women do anything; it is the role of the man to protect their fragile souls from all consequences.
Even more generally I think a lot of people- not just in this fandom, though certainly within this fandom - are terrified of anger. Like, they think they like it - they say they love barbarians (though rage is its own beast and I think very different from the anger Orym and Keyleth exhibit) but most of the discussion of them tends to veer more into angst, and most players of barbarians are often exploring emotions like grief, self-pity (as Ashton says), or frustration just as much if not more so than anger. I think a lot of people perceive anger as this awful thing inside them to be controlled and denied, or alternately to only be let out for whatever they think is a sufficiently righteous cause, and instead sit in an increasingly toxic stew of simmering resentment and conflict avoidance until they begin to think this is not just normal but aspirational - anything but that awful beast they call anger. It's not new in discussions of Keyleth, and it's not limited to her and Orym; I can point to nearly every single character who has had even the slightest of outbursts - even something as mild and controlled as Orym's whispered profanity or less - and I promise you there's been pearl-clutching for every single one of them.
Anyway, you make great points! One of the things that struck me about this episode and prompted my frustration and my post earlier today is that Imogen has changed. I think she's been mulling over Liliana since her appeals to her during the Key's activation were unsuccessful; she hesitantly told Chetney when he asked in Uthodurn that yes, if Liliana's death is necessary, she understands; and I think seeing the utter devastation and pain that was inflicted on Keyleth brought it into focus. She was much more open to FCG and the coin as well. And, you know, if one had embraced Imogen's moral ambiguity in the leadup to the solstice, and the possibility that she could betray the party, instead of shouting that down? Then one could see this as a beautiful moment of growth for Imogen. One could, in fact, if one was so inclined, attribute it to her new sense of ease thanks to her circlet, or even to her nascent romantic relationship. If one, of course, had wholeheartedly embraced Imogen's past moral ambiguity and the possibility of her betrayal.

The Giver - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
By: @amongthe141
Fandom: Call of Duty Video Game
Chapters: 1/?
Characters: Y/N female reader, John Price, Frank Woods, more 141 to follow
Tags: Slow burn, Captain John Price x fem!reader, first ever shared writing...eek, sorry for grammar or lack of edits I tried, starts 2019 remake universe, yes I made Frank Woods look like a Santa and not sorry, w
Summary: Y/N is introduced to Captain John Price via Frank Woods and Y/N's life is about to become...more complicated.
Words: 1586
The knock on the door should have been promptly replied back with a bark somewhere to the tune of "...the hell you want" from the eighty some old senior man purposely sitting within the walls of his room in isolation.  Whether it was for peace or reliving of fading memories but in the case of Retired Master Sergeant Frank Woods it was more likely choosing to avoid the realization that he was old when the other residents and staff constantly make one such has himself remember it on the daily.  There were those who Woods allowed acceptance to enter freely…the evolution of his bark differs greatly from the first day he resided to now…the bark wasn’t so much as a bite if it was one of the favored few, which Y/N could be counted as one of them, if not the top tier of them.  It wasn’t an easy achievement but one with a bit of patience and a bit of stubbornness Y/N was able to conquer.  It also helped that Y/N and Woods were the troublemakers under this roof when they set their minds to it.  This is why the absence of this familiar greeting put her on edge and her breathing hitched in concern.
The next group of knocks were louder, though knocking loud was always a must for any resident under this household because their hearing is shit if they were normal  but they weren't. These men who lived here at this privatized retirement home had extra damage to their ears from enemy explosions, recanting to  Y/N's ears in downtime storytelling or reasoning as to why their screams would wake her up at night from constant night terrors. So this last extra loud knock on Frank Woods door should have had him absolutely hysterical at her even to somewhere deep down finding superpowers to strengthen his bad knees to walk out of his bound chair to rock across his room to open the door to relay such hysterics. But as the seconds ticked and still no reply a moment of fear hit her hard. Many veterans had passed in their sleep here, death was an all too familiar experience since Y/N started five years ago, but she wasn't ready for the stubborn old man that lived to prove what a grumpy old man should be, nor one who relished in the delight of being called an asshole. She would never admit it but he was her favorite person in the converted old Victorian house they called home and Y/N wasn't ready to say an early goodbye or any goodbyes at all.
Pushing through her fear, the dark stained door opened with an eerie scream from its hinges as the room came to life as the soft glows from the afternoon sun seeped through the countless windows. The same dark stain of the door flowed adjacent to the corners where ceiling and walls and floors  met in this cream colored room that belonged to Woods. Military flags stretched on the walls here and there  as if it was some piece of classic art.  Photos littered in frames or lay about every surface of Frank Wood’s room where there were hardly any surfaces left,  unlike the floor which he needed ample space for his wheelchair to get by. The faces that stared at her back, some she knew of from when Frank allowed himself to tell her tid bits from his past, others were of the younger Frank, a more dangerous yet addictive Woods who didn't give five fucks and would do as he pleased.
Y/N could see herself getting in trouble with a younger Frank, she already did with the senior version ever since he first stepped within these hallowed halls (yes, he was a younger old man then… too proud to submit as the new guy lifebound eventually for his wheelchair) into the retirement house with other old geezers (his words at the beginning, not Y/Ns, never hers).
Y/N had been in this room a million times, could tell you where everything was and should be, but in the first moments of entering  her fear made it all seem like a stranger's room instead as her eyes reluctantly stared at the empty but made up bed. One area cleared but…, what if he fell off the bed and was behind it? A sigh from Y/N released as again another spot cleared after as she approached closer to the bed to see to the other side. Y/N shifted the large ice bucket in her grasp as carrying the terror of finding him dead in the room subsided. Before asking "but where the hell was he" a coughing fit of laughter snuck in like a cool breeze from the screened door and she allowed herself to smile a silly smile as she shook her head, the bottles in the bucket clinking against each other as if rejoiced the location was given away to where a very live and fiery Woods would be. Y/N quickly crossed across the room and  pushed through  the reluctant screaming screen door that led out to the covered patio with her free hip,  she couldn't help but  tilt her head as she stared at Woods and his unexpected guest.
"Y/N!" Frank mustered to say when he was able to speak instead of cackle (it's what Y/N used to describe the coughing fits most life smokers end up getting) "Where the hell have you been?"
"Working very hard apparently being your bar wench" she said playfully as she went about carefully placing the basket of chilled beer on the table between Woods and his guest, who stood up as a bulky tower over the two of them to help her set it down very gentlemanly…probably a beer enthusiast as Woods where no drop of spilt beer should fall! He waited for Y/N to lean against the arm of the only free chair before sitting back down "Well this is certainly unexpected".
It wasn't till he spoke did she actually make eye contact with this man. Maybe it was the British accent that gave it clearly away that he wasn't a relation to Woods (as if any did visit if there were any) , perhaps the mutton chops of a beard adorning his face peppered with graying and light patches of hair teasing his age, or perhaps the beanie that bound his hair underneath…Y/N stopped processing every little detail of the man in her brain to jumpstart the point that his clear ocean blue eyes had her hooked, lined, and smitten and very much addicted instantly. Woods leaned over and passed him a cold one before jabbing one at Y/N’s closest though before taking his own, breaking her concentration on purpose but more likely for the urgency to enjoy a cold one.
Y/N smiled before twisting the cap off as Woods unceremoniously hit the cap off the side of the wheelchair’s many metal perks, deeping the dent. "What can I say, privatized retirement houses do come with perks" Woods said before downing half the bottle and then nonchalantly introducing "Y/N meet Captain John Price".
Y/N was greeted with a "Pleasure" and courteous nod with a non-mistaken smirk surrounded by his beard before he continued "When you said Woods you were in a private home, let alone a Veteran one, I indeed was not expecting this to be so…" "Homely". "Exactly".
"Thank you, when my Aunt inherited this place she didn't want it to be a place someone couldn't call home. Most other retirement homes are too hospital-like and…" "Cold". Y/N couldn't help but smile wide at them completing each other’s thoughts, "Exactly. Most have to come to retirement homes involuntarily, if bringing a bucket of cold beer helps then that's what we do." Y/N explained after more small inquiries came from Price that there were 6 other residents at the house. The staff was there 24/7 by shifts or by personal employment by the resident but Y/N was the only other person who resided there full time with her Aunt. "Life functions as a normal everyday household besides the times I get to boss this guy around" Wood’s playful eye roll earns him laugh before Y/N continues. "We make sure everyone makes their appointments, gets their meds, therapy, etc."
"Reliable and recommendable" Price said almost in a prideful tone before Woods snorted "More like lucky. VA benefits and regulations nowadays are death sentences to places like this. You won't be able to find this when you're my age for military men like us, for what we do!" Those words pulled every scar and blemish on Price to Y/Ns eyesight immediately. She's seen them hundred times over on the Veterans who have come and gone. The war battle scars they took home and relive most nights. "I better enjoy it then when I can aye?" A known silence is shared between the men as Woods nods in answer.
"Well I better go check on things and leave you two at it. Anything needed before I go?" "No, not at this time". "Well if you do, Woods will make sure we know" and she did the same thing she's done a hundred times over with her favorite grumpy old man, no matter the state he was in, it always calmed and reassured him, with that gentle and soft squeeze of her hand on his shoulder incase it was ever the last time to do it. Y/N just didn't know how soon that time was nearing.

Two posts in one day?! Wow I’m so generous lol. I’m kidding this was definitely long overdo.
🔥Hazbin Hotel🔥
One of my favourite fandoms.
And incase you couldn’t tell.. I really like agere content. So! I finally mustered up some courage to publish this fic. Again, it was originally on AO3 but I’m not gonna deprive you guys of this. I hope you like it! And I feel like I’m one of the only people who don’t actually hate this character.. and actually kinda like him a lot and imagining him and writing him as a little. I don’t condone anything that he’s done and yeah he’s an asshole but he’s also small right now lol.
Baby Jail lol
This fic is also inspired by the amazing art of @leila54yks3 so definitely go check them out and their art because it’s honestly 100/10.
They make amazing agere content, especially Hazbin Hotel and one of their art pieces is what this fic is written off of. Try to see if you can find it on their page.
And yes I did get permission :)
And please feel free to talk to me about this kind of stuff (agere Hazbin Hotel) if you want, I love to talk and to listen!
And go check it out on AO3 too if you like my writing :)
Without much further ado! Fanfiction :)
It was 12:03.
Angel was late.
The good thing was that he knew he was already late and ran as fast as he could. The bad news was that he knew Valentino would not care for his excuses and punish him just the same.
Nevertheless, that didn't make having to get to work any less stressful. He'd rather waste 5 minutes of his time instead of 10 or 15.
Angel had gotten caught up with talking with his friends at the hotel. And when he finally noticed the time, his heart sank. He had to quickly rush to get ready before essentially bolting out the door.
By the time he actually got to the studio, it was thankfully only 12:10.
He hurriedly entered the building before finding it strangely quiet and not busy. Angel looked around a bit confused as to why he wasn't being yelled at for being late.
That's when he noticed what was missing. Everyone was just waiting around and talking to each other. It was strange to see them not yelling and just talking normally. Strangely enough, this only furthered Angel's assumption that something was wrong.
"Hey uh, any news in where Val is?" He asked one of his costars.
"No idea. He's been absent all day." One of them answered him.
Angel wasn't sure wether to be happy or nervous.
Happy that he might not have to deal with Valentino's wraith today. But anxious that he might have to make up for the time lost tomorrow.
He eyed Val's dressing room.
He wanted to go in there. Just to see if he was in there. As far as he could remember, this has never happened. He's never just randomly canceled the shoot without saying anything or having Vox spread out a message.
He couldn't stop the thoughts that plagued his mind surrounding what might be happening. And despite his better judgement, he started making his way to the door anyway.
Gulping nervously, he gently put his hand on the door knob. Thankfully no one really payed attention to Angel as he slowly and gently opened the door.
The room was relatively dark, strangely uncharacteristic from the moth that loved the light.
“V-val?” Angel’s voice echoed around the room. That’s when he noticed the faint sound of what sounded like.. whining?
Whining and.. crying.
But somehow, it didn’t sound like any adult Angel has ever heard cry. No. This sounded a lot more.. childlike. Almost like a baby.
“What the fuck? What’s a baby doing in hell?!” Angel exclaimed surprised. He quickly started to use his hands to look around the room for the source of the noise.
Then finally in one corner of the room where sat a pile of clothes, sat a little baby moth.
Said moth that had little baby wings that looked like they wouldn’t even be able to carry him. With little droopy antennas and a tear streaked face.
The little moth whined while making grabby hands towards the spider.
“Holy shit!” Angel yelled, jumping back from surprise at the little moth. Unfortunately this only caused the moth to cry even harder. Big, fat tears rolled it’s way down his little cheeks.
“Waaaaaaaaaaa!” Val cried even harder.
Angel, panicked and still quite unsure what to do.
Sighing and figuring that there wasn’t much he could do right now, he decided to pick up the moth.
“Shhh shhhh it’s ok. I’m sorry I scared y’a.” Angel gently rocked the little moth side to side to calm him down.
“Shh calm down bud it’s ok shh shh” he kept shushing him till the moth was reduced to small whimpers again.
“Now to see what happened…” Angel thought to himself.
Angel looked around the room before spotting a mysterious bottle on the floor that had a baby pacifier on it.
“Baby potion?” He read outloud.
“Ah.. potion baby” he said holding up Val.
The little moth couldn’t help but giggle.
“What am I gonna do now?” Angel thought out loud.
He wasn’t sure what to do with the baby moth demon in his arms.
How long would Val stay like this?
What would happen to him with his contract?
Oh Satan..
What would happen if the other Vee’s found out?
Angel sighed before looking at Val. The baby moth was playing with the fluff on his chest.
“Maybe it won’t be so bad.. and you’re kinda cute like this.” Angel gently booped Val’s little face causing the baby to break out into giggles.
Angel smiled.

The Eden Club
Tumblr media
Chapter 6: You'll look for me in someone forever
Fandom: Detroit Become Human
Ships: HankCon(main), Hankvin(previous), Convin(secondary), HankConGav(eventual)
Rating: Explicit (adult sexual content)
Tags: Eden Club/Sex Worker!Connor Dead dove do not eat, undercover!Connor, post-revolution: hostile public opinion, Evil Kamski, Club owner Kamski, All the tragic Hankvin backstory you could ever want, eventual polycule, smut, followed by angst, spanking, edging, fingering, sensation play, Connor is a flirty horny little shit, emotional sex, unresolved feelings, complicated love triangle turned polycule
Summary:
“I don’t care how eager you are, you're eating before we do anything,” Connor shouted from the kitchen before he could say a word and Hank’s mouth dropped in suprise. Even if they had been sexting ALL DAY, he still wasn't used to hearing pointed flirtation out of his android. Well, not his like his property but you know…
“Oh yeah? What makes you think you're in charge after the sneaky shit you pulled today,” Hank shot back, using his ‘Lieutenant voice’ as Connor has called it over a dozen times now.
Hank took his time entering the house, extending out this little game. He hung up his coat and gave himself a once over in the front hallway mirror. He looked tired as hell. The bags under his eyes were darkening as the day went on, but he showered yesterday so his hair doesn't look greasy and his beard is only a little overgrown right now. Convinced he looked ‘good enough’, he continued through the entry way, skidding to a hard stop before even a toe could cross the threshold of the kitchen.
Yup, its official, I’m gonna have a fucking heart attack.
Because Connor is standing with his back to him in front of the stove, in Hank’s Knights of the Black Death Band Tee from 2027, and nothing else. That was confirmed a second later when Connor reached up to add time on the microwave and Hank could easily make out the matching half moons of the androids bare ass.
Hank’s hand reached out and slapped the doorway trim to steady himself.
“Jesus fucking Christ Connor...” he scolded.
Connor turned around then, a huge shit-eating grin on his face as he held out his spatula and blinked up at Hank innocently. He looked down at the borrowed, oversized shirt on his tall lean frame.
“I hope you don’t mind Hank, my clothes are in the washer. I can take it off, if it bothers you.”
Nope. Connor better fucking not. Because if he does that, Hank’s heart will stop. He’s just barely holding it together now.
“It’s not you wearing it that bothers me,” Hank groans, unable to tear his eyes from the bottom hem of the time-worn shirt, just waiting for the moment Connor moved enough to show him more of that beautiful cock he already got an eyeful of today.
Connor’s previously flirtaious face was suddenly replaced with worry.
“I didn’t mean to genuinely upset you Hank, I’m-”
But before Connor could misunderstand Hank further, he was stopping Connor’s apology.
“You’re not wearing anything under that shirt.”
It wasn't a question.
The side of Connor’s face began to raise again in amusement, understanding Hank now.
“Nope.”

"GRRRRRRRRRRETINGS, STARDUSTS! Are you ready for the third season of Secrets from the Stars? Oh, I'm so excited!"
Tumblr media
The announcer's voice blares from the TV screen as Hikari flops down on the couch in her hideout, cradling the Charcadet egg she got from Ashe in her arms. She watches as the hostess lays out the rules--and smirks. So, contestants are to tell their dirtiest secrets on this show, and the juiciest one wins? Well, she can't enter because none of her worst secrets are PG-13, but...
Tumblr media
"Everyone has a secret or two," she tells the egg; she knows Pokémon eggs like being talked to. "You will too when you grow up. You might even hide them from me! I wonder what the hostess of this show would think of my secret. Do you want to know what it is?"
The egg warms to her voice, and she gives a twisted little grin.
"So there's this big, vast expanse of information and connection in the world that we call the Internet. Through the Internet, we can play games, read books, watch videos and even talk to people. I like talking to people on the Internet. It's fun because unless you really like and trust them, no one has to know who you are. But it can also be real shit sometimes, because people can be assholes and think they can get away with it 'cause no one knows who they are. Well, the asshole I'll tell you about in this story wasn't so lucky...
"I had this really good friend I met on the Internet named Gracia. We've known each other and we've always wanted to meet, but we didn't do so until after my journey through Sinnoh. We had so much in common--we were both Yumean, we both were in all the same fandoms, we both loved to write and draw, and dare I say we even had crushes on each other. We were so much alike, we had all the same mental illnesses!"
The smile fades from her face as she remembers a particularly difficult time.
[suicide & murder mentions]
"Sometimes, when someone's life is tough, they don't want to live anymore. This can happen quite often with people who are mentally ill, and sometimes, they take their own lives. I remember one night when I was tired from having had only three hours of sleep and about to go to bed, and Gracia messaged me saying that after a fight with her parents she didn't see an end to how they'd disrespect her and she was going to end it that night. I knew then I had two choices: either put myself first, give her the number of a hotline and call it a night, or stay up with her until I knew she was going to be safe. I did the latter. I stayed up until 3 AM talking to her, calming her, reminding her of all the good things we shared that she could live for...And I didn't stop until she told me she was no longer going to kill herself. I saved her life that night. And do you know how she repaid me?"
Even the unborn embryo knows the answer wouldn't be good.
Tumblr media
"She replaced me with someone who'd bullied us BOTH."
The commercial for Secrets from the Stars has long since ended. With the drone of the TV channel's main program in the background, Hikari completes her horrid tale.
"I couldn't believe it. Her actions told me she thought that night we shared was worth nothing. That she valued someone who hurt her in a way she'd previously said she couldn't forgive over someone who had only ever done right by her. But you know what? I decided that if she was going to completely disregard the fact she owed her life to me, she didn't deserve to live. I still had her address saved from the times I'd sent gifts to her, so I knew where she lived. And since I knew all her fandom interests, I had a good bet that she'd be showing up to the Game Freak store for the release of a new game we'd both been looking forward to--and I knew that place would be crowded. So you know what I did? I went to the Game Freak store in her area on release day, I found her in the crowd without her seeing me, and when everyone rushed into the building I pushed her down so she'd be trampled to death. No one ever even suspected foul play--let alone suspected me. And since I'm not stupid enough to do what that lady suggested and say something illegal on that gossip show, no one ever will."
Hikari turns the TV off, letting the end of the story hang in the air with its grim finality. The egg in her arms grows cold, as though it were left outside on a cold winter day. She glances down at the unborn hatchling, her expression mildly concerned as she sees a dark swirl appear in the center of the egg, growing bigger for a few brief seconds before shrinking again. When it disappears, she strokes the shell, finding it to be just as warm as before--and finding an unexpected message radiating from within.
I will take your burdens now, it seems to say. Be at peace. Be at peace.
Without thinking she holds the egg a little tighter, and as she does, she feels the tension in her shoulders relax and sees the Charcadet reds on the shell become tinged with the dark blues of a Ceruledge--a well-known devourer of grudges. Gracia and her betrayal seem so distant now, as though Hikari has aged to that golden fortieth year in which all the troubles of youth dissolve like morning mist...
She stands, and places a kiss on the egg when she puts it back into its fireplace nest.
She didn't ask for it to help heal her anger--but she didn't say no to it, either.

Funny Story: Bad Video Game Endings (+ a game nobody's heard of before)
Not as in bad endings as in negative outcomes in the story, I mean video game endings that are of poor quality. I have some funny experiences with them. One of them is in a game I could probably convince you was a hoax if I tried hard enough. The other is from a recent Nintendo release. Strap yourself in, this'll be fun.
I'm back from writing this out, and HOLY SHIT, THIS MIGHT BE AS LONG AS THOSE TWO REALLY LONG METROID PRIME 4 POSTS I WROTE OUT. Abandon all hope, ye who enter in.
I Might Be One Of The First Actual People To Document Sparklite On Tumblr
Okay, Sparklite is a pixel-art 2D top-down roguelite that's on a couple consoles and I think Steam, but I played it on my stepdad's Switch (He found it in the eShop, I watched him play and wanted to try it myself). The game is seemingly often compared to 2D Legend of Zelda, but I personally don't really see the comparisons beyond comparisons you can make to dozens of other games and not just LoZ. It took me 2 or 3 days to beat, but if you have enough time and know what you're doing you might be able to beat it in 3 hours. This game has enthralled me ever since I played it like... It might've been months ago now, actually, because it is possibly one of the most obscure games I've ever played, and the way it handled it's plot fascinates me.
I looked on YouTube and only found a couple playthrough videos & specific segment guides and not much else besides the official soundtrack upload (By the way, huge shout out to the game's composer, Dale North, this game's ost is amazing go listen to it right fucking now it has under 2K views but is spectacular and deserves better), I found a Fandom wiki for the game that only has 16 barren pages and the main page was vandalized for some time because it wasn't fucking edit locked, and besides for like 1 or 2 people playing through the game on their own, all of the posts about it on here seem to be either automated reposts from other sites and/or like... Reviews and articles written by game journalists? Which puts me in an interesting spot here.
I just find that entire side tangent really interesting, but I'm now going to spoil the entire plot because it leads up to why this game's ending sucks. If you're playing through this game right now, don't read further but let me know and provide proof because I will not believe you but also really want to know if I am literally the only person who knows about this game.
Sparklite's Story, From Memory at 12:30 AM
You're a mechanic girl named Ada flying an airship with your robot pal Wingnut. You crash atop the continent of Geodia, and have to figure out where to go now. Woohoo.
You go through a weird building called a Founders' Vault that gives you a crossbow then replaces it with a blueprint in your inventory when you leave, and get your ass kicked by a robot that eats Wingnut and has a human piloting it that is uncommunicative and never elaborated on and entirely possible to miss.
You wake up in the Refuge, a fucking sky island base built by the people of Geodia because it is currently experiencing multiple seismic events constantly reshaping the land. Because it's a roguelite. There's this one character I forgot the name of, he's really cool looking and is said to be the one who built the Refuge but hasn't talked since he finished it, he'll come up again a bit, I'll refer to him as Hero because his design at first glance reminded me of a character named Hero from one of my friend's projects, ROYN, which I shall now shamelessly plug, go watch it. I dare you. I don't think the designs are actually comparable in hindsight.
You go down from the Refuge into Geodia, starting in the Vinelands which has a lot less vines than the name implies, and explore a bit, meeting a strange pirate gambler who makes you gamble at his game and resets all of the objects once you leave the room allowing for you to grind breaking plants eternally for infinite money, and eventually find that boss from before and kill him. Wingnut is saved, hooray!
Behind the boss (Because I guess it couldn't get in there but wanted to guard it) is a room leading to a giant chasm underneath Geodia revealing a big crystal. I don't remember if it was named. I'm going to call it the Philosophers' Stone because it's funny and technically a pun. You step on a symbol and a voice from who the fuck knows where speaks to you, telling you things. You're warped back to the Refuge, Hero speaks to you, and the next area is unlocked. This loop repeats for each major world, because that sequence unlocked the next one.
Between the mystery voice and Hero's monologues, you learn the following:
The main fuel source of this world is Sparklite, a usually green crystal that comes in other flavors and contains essentially infinite power. Basically anything drops it, and it's the currency of the game. Despite being set up as a power source, you're arbitrarily given a separate energy meter for the weapons that cost energy.
You can burn Sparklite to get a higher energy output but destroying the Sparklite, which fucks up the environment and turns things into monsters and is what's causing Geodia to fracture, and that's what the main antagonist, the Baron, and his soldiers, the bosses, are doing. Why? I dunno. Hero specifically mentions he was the one who invented burning Sparklite, but this never goes anywhere.
There was this ancient people that either came to this continent or planet and made it alive because they needed a place to stay. I forgot all of their names, but there were 5 important ones, but only 3 were actually important to the plot, and in fact I might be misremembering and only 2 are. one of them made the Philosophers' Stone as essentially the world's heart (It's one giant Sparklite crystal), one of them is Ada's ancestor and passed down the necklace thing you use as a key to get into more Founders' Vaults, and another tried to break the Philosophers' Stone and figured out how burning Sparklite works. No, I don't think this means Hero is thousands of years old, though I wish that was the twist.
I think Ada was prophesized to show up here, but I don't know how or why.
The Baron wants the Philosophers' Stone. You have to activate the seal things at the end of each world to protect the stone and stop him from getting it.
There are these musical creatures called Beats that keep getting lost. This one girl, Harmony, wants you to rescue them all. Saving all of them across the entire map gives you essentially the instant win button, as it's the max upgrade of each major equipable accessory thing I forgot the name of. If you've played Iconoclasts, they're essentially this game's more elaborate version of Tweaks... Iconoclasts is also another obscure indie game I've obsessed over a lot, and I only know one person outside of the game's Discord that knows about it.
Sparklite's Ending Has To Have Been Developed In Under An Hour
Okay, that's a bit of hyperbole, but still.
You're in the final world, Titan's Ridge, listening to one of the coolest tracks in the game, and you enter the final dungeon, seeing that the standard boss room is empty and the door to the Philosophers' Stone chamber is broken open. You walk in, the stone is gone, and the voice tells you you were too late and to go stop the Baron.
You're warped to the top of Titan's Ridge (it's a mountain), where the Baron is staring over the clouds at the Refuge. He has a generic villain monologue about how Ada is annoying and Sparklite is always more powerful when burned, snaps his fingers and the ENTIRE REFUGE CATCHES FIRE AND FALLS OUT OF THE SKY, and the final showdown commences.
You beat him up, and then he just absorbs the entire Philosophers' Stone out of nowhere, transforming into this horrid abomination that takes up almost the entire background as you fall into the stone chamber, and have to fight a swarm of buffed enemies to reactivate all of the seals. Alright, now I can fight him for rea- Wait, what the fuck, the game's over.
I'm not kidding. You have the first phase where you fight him in his normal form, then he turns into a kaiju, and you don't even fucking fight him, just his enemies. He doesn't even have a unique animation for when the seal lazers shoot at him and just... Disintegrate him offscreen, I guess, because the Philosophers' Stone is put back in place and the day is saved.
Hero's entire arc is never resolved, none of the other characters you meet have literally any relevance to the story, there's no further explanation given from the voices, the Refuge is somehow back to normal again, and the monsters all turn back to normal animals. The credits put you in a white void with nothing to do but pet a dog as the credits roll, and then you're booted to the title screen once the credits and their corresponding song (best track in the game and one of the best credits themes I've ever heard btw) finish.
You can imagine why my immediate reaction was frustrated, confused vocalizations of distress and despair, after having spent approximately 4 or 5 hours trying to beat the final boss (You had to restart at phase 1, and I had to leave to get better equipment twice which meant finding the dungeon in the newly randomized map all over again).
Hero's story never went anywhere and had no relevance to the plot, Baron's character was never explored, you don't even see what happened to him, his minions literally never got dialogue but were clearly people as Hero would talk about them individually each time you cleared a world, a lot of questions about the ancient people are left unanswered, Ada's relation to the ancients and Geodia is never explored, Wingnut is barely even a character if you remember them by the way they don't talk ever again after rescue besides when you get upgrades for them because they're a gameplay gimmick, and I don't know if Ada ever gets her ship back.
I don't know if this was a deadline issue, since the game was already pretty light on content and made by seemingly an indie studio idk I haven't looked into them, or if the devs just... Ran out of ideas on how to wrap the story up and just threw together something just to get it over with. Ultimately, it doesn't matter, you won't be playing the game for the plot, and it was my fault for expecting the game to have one when it was absolutely a gameplay-centered game. But still, as the ending to a narrative, that was dogshit. I still recommend the game, though. I don't even play roguelikes/lites and I still had a great time. I don't remember the price tag, and as you can tell I'm too lazy and tired to be googling things right now, but I'm pretty confident it was less than 30 dollars.
Princess Peach: Showtime, A Paradox Of Game Design
One of my friends didn't even know this game released when I started playing through it. I got it for my birthday, because I thought a modern Princess Peach platformer would be a decent time and I was running out of modern first-party Switch releases I was actually interested in. Like Sparklite, I see nobody talk about it, but obviously due to being a Nintendo game (Though made by some other company, I don't know what Goodfeel is in relation to Nintendo but they're to blame for this) there's much better documentation meanwhile Sparklite doesn't even have a Wikipedia page. I don't know what the standards are for that kind of thing, but you get the idea.
In case anyone missed that this game existed and don't know anything about it, Princess Peach is invited to the Sparkle Theatre, only for Madame Grape and the Sour Bunch to infiltrate and fuck up the plays happening in the Theatre, while locking everyone inside. The theatre's guardian, Stella, this game's stereotypical tiny floating exposition dump partner, asks Peach for help going through all of the plays and saving the day. You go through the plays, resolve the story conflicts the Sour Bunch are causing (Fun fact, they literally commit an act of terrorism in one of the levels), rescue the main actors called Sparklas, yadda yadda.
The game's story is as bland and generic as you can get, so you won't be playing the game for that. You could've swapped Peach out for a unique non-Mario character and nothing would've changed, literally nothing. Especially since most of the character designs don't feel like Mario characters to me. The game's soundtrack, to me, was nothing to write home about. The graphics are alright, but still pretty standard. The gameplay loop, in a vacuum, should be really annoying: You go through a linear level with a couple easy-to-miss side paths or side quests to get collectibles, do a couple minigames, maybe fight a boss every now and then, and if you want to retry literally any part of the level you have to restart the entire thing. At some point, you get a transformation into a costume matching the play, and a new gimmick is introduced, that usually sucks.
The game is easy as shit, unless you're trying to 100% it, then if so the developers hated you. I genuinely don't know why I even finished the game, I should by all accounts not have enjoyed it, but I somehow had fun with it and I still can't really figure out why. It was barely even a platformer. I gave up 100%ing it halfway through when I had to ask myself if constantly retrying a level if I actually cared enough that I wanted to be doing this, because I realized I was just acting on completionist instinct. Once I re-evaluated, I immediately dropped it and just went to finish the game, because I was just not into this game enough.
Princess Peach: Showtime's Ending Is Sonic Adventure 1's Final Boss But Done So Terribly Worse It's Actually Really, Really Funny
I have not, in fact, played Sonic Adventure 1.
I will preface this by saying that even with how lame the game was over all, it was ultimately inoffensive. Sure, it existed only to exist and make Nintendo some more money and nothing more, but you could at least have a good time with it. Up until this ending.
You've beaten every level, and rescued all of the Sparklas. The final boss door is waiting for you, where Madame Grape is waiting behind it. But... Stella can't get it open, even with her magic (By the way, Stella and the Sparklas are powered by Sparkle, Grape uses DARKLE). The cutscene makes it feel like all is lost, because now we can't stop Grape if we can't get to her, and she's just gonna rule the theatre forever.
The Sparklas, previously not in literally any part of the hub world even after being rescued unless I missed them, all surround Peach and offer up their Sparkle, and Peach absorbs it AND GETS A SUPER FORM. Like, literally, through the power of friendship she gets a Super Sonic form.
Tumblr media
She floats now, too, and can shoot magic projectiles. So Peach goes through the door, Grape is waiting, somehow three times the size she was in previous cutscenes, and challenges you to a fight, saying she'll create the perfect tragedy by defeating you, her foil. The fight is flying around a ring-shaped arena and shooting projectiles at her around obstacles blocking you from shooting her as you occasionally have to dodge rocks and lazers. That is the ENTIRE FIRST PHASE OF THE FIGHT.
Some of the major bosses of the game actually had interesting gimmicks, like Light Fang was a snake in a clocktower-like environment who you had to avoid being spotted by or else they'd REWIND TIME until you got high enough to hit their fuse and stun them, and Spotlion who would turn the arena to glass and shoot projectiles that now bounce around and you'd have to reflect them back at the boss to stun them. But not the FINAL BOSS.
Peach powers down, and she and Stella go to leave, satisfied Grape is dead as only her mask is left on the floor, only for her to reform and the entire room explodes.
Peach and Stella wake up in the rubble of the Sparkle Theatre, which is now completely destroyed. Grape, now instead of basically being invisible under her clothes besides for a purple smog orb is now whatever this is, and the size of a fucking kaiju.
Tumblr media
All seems lost AGAIN, until the residents of the island offer up their Sparkle to Peach, who powers up AGAIN with technically a different form but functionally the same except shooting a beam instead of an orb, and flies off to fight Grape... IT'S THE SAME FIGHT AGAIN, BUT WITH A SMALLER, RECTANGLE ARENA, SHOOTING A BEAM, AND EVEN EASIER TO DODGE ATTACKS.
AND THEN GRAPE IS BLOWN UP AND THROUGH THE POWER OF BULLSHIT THE THEATRE IS RECONSTRUCTED AND PEACH GOES HOME. THAT'S THE ENDING. THAT'S THE FUCKING ENDING. But then, on one of the random credits slides you can see Grape's mask floating in the ocean, implying she might come back in the future. That wasn't a post-credits scene, not one of the last 5 slides of the credits, they put the sequel bait only like 3/4ths into the credits.
I can't be the only one who feels like this is basically just thrift store Perfect Chaos, right? Just when it seems the villain is going to succeed, the main character assumes a floating super form with the help of their friends and goes in for the final showdown. The final boss is the main antagonist which is some esoteric being with shapeshifting capabilities thousands of times bigger, more monstrous, and made of some kind of viscous fluid, and is fought in the remains of the hub world. It even looked like the island was being flooded in that final sequence right before the second phase of the Grape fight.
Obviously, Perfect Chaos is much better than Grape in basically every aspect, especially because that form is actually earned by Chaos meanwhile Grape just... Turns into it.
Oh, also, get this, I didn't look much into the post-game content just because I was so fucking done with the game by this point, but those collectibles you can find in the levels if you hate yourself can actually be spent on something besides unlocking boss doors now. You can decorate the hub world. There's only like 15 decorations, and you can't choose where they go. They're in specific spots. And you can only get one of each. And there's only like 3 per floor.
Don't play this game. You can take the triple A price tag and split the money up to buy like 5 indie games so much more worth your time than this fucking garbage. I beat it a few hours ago and I'm still fuming about how dumb the ending was.
Conclusion
I hope at least one more person buys Sparklite or at least looks into it/listens to it's soundtrack because of this post, and one less person buys Princess Peach: Showtime because of this post.
Also, Bonus Funny Story: Me joking with one of my friends about Grape devolved at breakneck speeds to PP:S 2's antagonist being named Pineapple, having the evil plan of opening a portal to Hell, being fought in the Greed layer of Dante's Inferno except it's basically El Dorado, burnt to death by being dropped into molten gold, replaced by a corrupt businessman as the main antagonist only to come back for the final boss as Golden Pineapple. And then Reality Pineapple.
Would you believe me if I told you all of that was references to the ROYN series I mentioned earlier and the inside jokes we have related to it? Because that's what happened. No, you are not getting an explanation. Unless you watch ROYN. There's a running gag where me and that same friend from the Pineapple joke advertise the series like we're paid shills, and it's really tempting to lean into that right now, but then I'd just actually look like a shill. Especially since I'm friends with the guy making it.

Rants!
Jane/Amelia: Ok my love for this ship started a million years ago with this video:
youtube
But seriously they are so much fun. Amelia is one of the few people smart enough to keep up with Jane and challenge her, and Jane is one of the few people so consistently principled that Amelia would actually be able to trust her and let her guard down. Amelia is the Captain who can take Jane wherever she wants to go to perform her research, and they get to open doors for each other. Plus let's be real, Jane hooking up with an alien sounds 100% right that girl is not capable of having a vanilla relationship.
Hope Diyoza/Echo: Listen barely anyone even watched the last season of that show, most of us sapphics lost interest post Lexa but it's such a tragedy. My girl Hope is only in that season and so many people dislike her 8( anyway the fandom immediately agreed that Hope was a lesbian and then Echo entered her storyline and fam. How the writers didn't see it is beyond me. It's been almost three years and it's looking like I'm never gonna get over them. "You must think I'm so weak..." - 'No. The opposite." Hhhh and Hope killing for Echo when she wasn't even able to do that for her father figure. Oh god and "How could you let her do this!?" - "Because I want her to." My little babies off to (attempt to) commit genocide :') other highlights include some cowards not wanting to ship Hope with her aunt's brother's ex-girlfriend (there was time fuckery involved, they're close in age when they meet, also who cares?? the CHEMISTRY), Echo Spy Shenanigans TM and the fact that I still want to write that Mamma Mia AU every time I hear an abba song. Lord help me now I want to rewatch s7 for them again
(second submission from the same person)
Hi hello sorry if this is a double submission I don't remember if i submitted them or dreamt it shout out to my adhd. ANYWAY Hope and Echo ruined my life back in 2020 literally thought about them 24/7 from june until October. Picture this: feral girl child of two terrorists who was isolated her whole life, literally nearly alone on a planet for 20yrs and has only truly known exactly 3 people ever and then matured through trauma trauma ptsd trauma and is now determined as All Fuck to go rescue her mother and aunt figure meets ex child soldier master spy redeemed antagonist who only learned what feelings are and how to deal with them a few years ago who is determined to go save her lame ass bf who is bein held in the same place as the other girl's mum and aunt. They join forces and train together and teach each other everything they know and get matching haircuts (this is canon look it up I'm obsessed). The first time Hope kills somebody is to save Echo's life; the first unfamiliar person Echo hugs and comforts is Hope. They invade a planet with their science nerd friend and enable each others genocidal tendencies so bad I love them ♡ after that whole ordeal goes wrong which includes Echo's shitty bf dumping her so she can't keep him from torturing their friend (notably not because of the attempted genocide lol) they are like each other's go to human at all times... until the 100 writers once again show their incapability of writing sapphic stories by forcing Hope to kiss a man who she met literally like a week ago (her and Echo have known each other for 5yrs at that point, there is time fuckery involved) and who would have been a great bestie for her. Boo! Hope is a lesbian! Every queer person who watched s7 agrees! Anyway after she show ends Hope and her boo realise that this is absolutely not what they want and Hope and Echo get to slow burn their way into what they were always meant to be and would have been if the writers had gone with actor chemistry over what they wanted to write from the start. I'm kidding Echo needed time to grieve her shit bf first but like I said. Eventually they got together and they lived happily ever after. Check the Echope tag on tumblr if you wanna see them, a fic rec for their dynamic could be "otherwise sensible women" by penguinofprose ao3. Sorry if I ranted too much thenksies if you read this far mwah :*

I actually don't think I'll ever understand Anti-Scott Ste rek Shippers. I know why they do it, but I cannot grok how they can look at this exchange from Formality (1x11):
Stiles: You know, you probably lost it when you two were fighting. You remember that, when he was trying to kill you, after you interrupted him trying to kill Jackson? Are you starting to see a pattern of violent behavior here? Scott: He wasn't going to kill anyone. And I'm not letting him die. Stiles: Could you at least think about letting him die? For me? What?
And choose to think that it is Scott's treatment of Derek that makes him the worst person ever! I mean they look at multiple scenes just like this one, and then complain that Scott hates Derek, that Scott rejects Derek's attempt to help him, or that Scott refuses to understand what Derek's gone through, and then turn around and celebrate Stiles saying shit like this -- and not just once, either -- as evidence that Derek and Stiles have a healthier relationship.
And I'm not bashing Stiles. Stiles has every right to say things like this, to think that Derek is dangerous to Scott (and him), to want Derek out of their life, and to act as if they have no responsibility to Derek or to the misguided teenagers he tricked into taking the Bite. In fact, Stiles's attitude, while not particularly heroic, is eminently practical. (There's a reason that Scott is the heroic protagonist and not Stiles)
But I cannot understand how a mature fan could derive aesthetic pleasure from taking this on-screen dynamic and re-imagining it as something completely different. They're capable of seeing romantic love in Stiles's sneering disdain for Derek's canon actions, but they're apparently incapable of discerning what the production literally lampshaded as Scott's motivations and actions.
And while I've talked about the motivating forces (racism and power fantasy) before, it's still so mystifying to me how they'll not only enter the fandom and act as if this behavior is defensible but go out of the way to celebrate this particular mode of fandom.

20. A boss you think is really cool
Hmmm... that's an interesting one! I'm gonna answer with a few different bosses, bc 'cool' could mean a lot of different things
Cool design + concept: Blizzeta from Twilight Princess (her 2nd form also has what's probably my 2nd fave boss theme of all time)! I also like the in-story context for her boss battle so much! (spoilers for Twilight Princess) We know already that the mirror shards are a corrupting force, and earlier we see that the Goron Chief was corrupted by the Fused Shadows. But here we see, via freaky ass cutscene, a character we liked get corrupted in front of us- it's no longer a generic 'beat the bad guy' boss fight, it's a 'saving the innocent' battle with personal stakes! and the cutscene that initiates her battle? Iconic. Everyone in the fandom knew NOT. TAKE. MIRROR. I also have an attachment to her for very personal reasons haha. But yeah her design fucks hard, I wish the combat was as interesting as the rest of her schtick.
Cool (I admire them): Cynthia from pokemon gen 4 are u kidding me I wanted to be her SO BAD as a kid. She wiped the floor with me so many times. I made a sprite edit using her as a base when I was like 12 and used it for an avatar. If I can remember the name of my old forums I'll post it.
Cool as in 'has stuck with me': Honestly a lot of the OG Luigi's Mansion ghosts are cool bc they're like... just people, and it's real wild that the first boss of this nintendo game is somebody's dead mom. But Bogmire stands out for being kind of surprise creepy. I think about it a lot. What's its deal. Yeah it's the personification of the house's misery or whatever, but what does that MEAN. I was like 5 or 6, playing this game, and I go to a hidden graveyard and knock on a big cool gravestone and initiate this battle. For little me, it was the right mix of creepy but engaging. I was nervous but not terrified. I would buy a Bogmire plushie.
Cool as in 'I look forward to it when I play the game': The darknut minibosses from both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Yeah the Wind Waker one isn't that tough now that I have a big grown up brain, but it's still neat, and WW Darknuts are my literal all time favourite enemies to fight in any game ever. I never pass up the chance.
The Twilight Princess one, though? Holy shit. I replayed the game like 2 years ago, and that bitch STILL kinda freaked me out! YEAH you can cheese him with the bomb arrows if ur a little bitch, but if you do a genuine bona fide sword fight? That shit's fun as hell. There's this unnameable dread when you first enter that room. You can feel in your BONES that that suit of armor is going to come to life and whoop your ass.
Cool as in most badass/dramatic: oh yeah it's gotta be the Wind Waker final battle. Everything about it RULES. (SPOILERS) You're having a desperate sword fight for your life, a 10 year old kid who left home a month ago vs an ancient warlock who was so powerful the gods themselves had to seal him away.
He won, btw. Like Ganondorf literally wins in WW. It takes KoRL stepping in to DROWN BOTH HIMSELF AND GANONDORF to prevent Ganondorf from getting his wish. So you're trapped in a room, water pouring in on all sides, against a man who... doesn't even hate you. He's just doing what must be done. He could have killed Zelda, but he doesn't. He puts his sword away and backhands her instead of running her through. He's 100% just playing out his destiny. You aren't the one who defeated him the first time, you're just some kid who was dragged into this by a ghost.
And when you kill him BY STABBING YOUR GODDAMN SWORD INTO HIS HEAD, he laughs quietly before delivering one of the most iconic lines in Zelda history. Like that whole battle, from opening cutscene to the final, is so intense. So fucking intense. I'm convinced they couldn't have gotten away with half the shit they do if the game wasn't so cutesy. Easy Teen rating.
Cool as in Best: WW Molgera is 10/10. The fight itself is fun and satisfying! Molgera has a KICK ASS design! It's a fantastic and mood-setting opening cutscene! The sound design on the boss is freaky in all the right ways! It's a UNIQUE boss battle! She's got the greatest boss battle theme in the whole goddamn series and I'll DIE on this hill! She was so scary I cried while watching my dad play when I was little, and once I got to her battle on my own I not only remembered her, it took me two days to work up the courage to face her, and I felt like an absolute fucking badass once I did! In that moment, I fell well and truly in love with video games. I was Link, a child facing down an ancient wyrm, terrified but pressing on.
Also, in the original GCN version of the game, the hitbox on her tongue doesn't go away when she starts flying, so you can hookshot it and force her back into the sand.
Thank you for the ask, doubly so if you actually read all of this haha <333

Ohohoho's to your hhehehe's awraxa.
@scarletooyoroi es next.
I actually know Jace from a distance from a while back ago! Back when I barely entered the Kingdom Hearts fandom, I knew of his Sora blog and I was a Roxas blog but I don't think we ever rp'd. It wasn't until my Cloud blog that I began to rp with him via his Sora blog! Jace is so fucking cool dude like, he's so damn chill and always has the coolest thread ideas, goes into it 100% and that just gets me hyped up. I honestly had no idea this was Jace until we followed each other and I was lIKE HEY HEY I REMEMBER YOU from a distance, could have just been me, I tend to remember lots of people I interact with here. I also figured out that he was also in the Naruto fandom once! I had no idea I never really ran into him there but that was cool cause I too dipped my feet there a bit. It's just amazing how you just run into people here honestly. Jace has always been a chill dude, always and like I said every time he rps he just does something that gets me so hyped up for it, I love reading his interactions and how he thinks about his characters. If you're not following him then you're really missing out honestly, give this guy some love, he's really cool and chill.
@reginrokkr es another.
If you aren't following Lyria you are doing yourself a disservice. Like holy shit this blog is so good, godly even, not just the rp content itself but the insight and thoughts on the game and on Dain himself, they are delicious meals every time. Lyria puts a lot of thought into their portrayal, using inspirations from that which inspires the game material itself to establish ground, I too find myself learning a lot of cool information through the posts they make in which they share their thoughts. Honestly, rp wise they too are goals, having threads that are like 50+ notes and still continuing that I read in silence to myself in the background and I'm just like hello?? Amazing, showstopping. Though I do my best to keep up with the game and keep tabs on the lore of it even I miss some things and get confused by other things and sometimes Lyria's breakdown posts about them and it helps me understand and see what I missed or what point went completely over my head. I've only gotten the chance to speak to them here and there but they've always been pleasant conversations. I've gotten the chance to rp with them too and I've had a blast interacting with them. Please do yourself a huge favor and follow them!
@dochttore ohohoho
Freaking Eddie, the Edster. Eddie is really quiet but they are very pleasant to chat with. They've always been considerate and I'm glad and count my blessings that they're someone I had gotten the chance to know. They are also a very amazing artist and I'm happy that every now and then I get to see their works in progress. Like I said before they are very quiet so most of the time I feel like I'm being too loud and annoying them by sending them messages on disc awraxa, but they're always really reassuring. I love the plots that we come up with and how open they are to exploring things because they also have some crazy ass ideas that very well match my own awraxa. So that makes me feel less crazy not gonna lie awraxa. Anyway, as a rper they are also great, their rp style is very easy to understand and to follow. I just love, like I can't express this enough, I love how Eddie's writing is always moving the scene forward, like there is always something left open on purpose for you to respond to. I can't say how frustrating it is sometimes when the scene just stays stagnant and it's something I really admire about the way they rp because it's something I want to get better at as well and I want to do all the time not just every now and then. I'm really thankful for their consideration for me and for sparing me some time off their busy life.
