Justice Society of America 1999* sketchpage

*not strictly set in 1999 bc of [redacted] but this team riffs on a lot of '90s anti-heroes set against a backdrop of turn of the millennium apocalyptism, so it's a useful shorthand.

This is a team Diana put together as she was working to revive the Justice Society in the modern day. It's remembered later on as the "Lost Souls" era, a group of abandoned legacies and sidekicks thrust into a violent world with immense power they don't quite understand. Hro Talak was seeking redemption for his part in the failed Thanagarian invasion by this point, taking on the role of Hawkman outside of the League's Hawkgirl and Hawkwoman pairing. Baal Batson/Captain Thunder I just talked about, but this is the modern version that Billy accidentally unlocked while exploring his own mystical potential.

Among the rest of the team's ranks, Jared Stevens, Chase Lawler, Al Rothstein, Sanderson Hawkins, and Jack Knight are all locked in various states of arrested development, the irony and rage of their generation rendered ridiculous and sad in the face of Diana's grandeur and Billy's raw power. Holding the team together in their underbelly is Shiro Ito, the infamous "Doctor Dragon" (sensationalized in the West as "Dragon KIng"), a century baby attempting to manage the trickier conditions of fellow members like Nuklon as his atomic abilities continue to mutate his body.

Hi frodo!! 👋 For my first ask: tell 10 facts about ito! (can be shiro ito or ito bear, whoever they're the same person xd) Because i saw the malbear one and i thought "hmm why not ask the same question but with ito?"

TOP TEN ITO FACTS (CANON, REAL) (MOSTLY post-'cure' ito)

He is banned from most pet stores (after cure and freedom he would just spend the entire open to close staring at the fish tanks and everyone is too scared to ask him to leave) 2. He can communicate with both bears and humans post-cure but the downside is both sides are uncomfortable with his existence 3. He will never be able to be completely cured he is messed up for life #trauma. Ito will NEVER return to looking fully human but part of his journey is he has to learn to accept that. 4. He does not know how to cook and will burn everything but he still eats it anyways because he has no taste buds anymore. He will even burn food with instructions. It's debatable at this point if he just actually likes burnt food more or not. 5. He is still full of bugs but nothing he does makes them go away so he just deals with it and actually has started to like bugs. #coping 6. Sometimes he believes he's morphed back into bear form and will tweak out until he sees himself. Does NOT want to go back to how he was. 7. Really enjoys calico critters 8. Has completely forgotten how to use the internet and chooses actively to avoid it. Reads the newspaper and magazines but he is often like 2 weeks late to all news. 9. Often goes out disguised and bundled up to go shopping 10. Smells like the most wicked rotten corpse smell ever and he can't get rid of it because technically he's a walking rotted corpse so it's kind of unavoidable. hope this helps your ideas of this miserable beast

I'm not sure If its a reccomendation, but it's definetely an associations and vibes. So it also would be a lot of my native language here.

As a person who mostly associate songs with OC and not other characters I can say it was a challenge. Anyway it was really fun to describe what song I associate with each character. So...
