“I’d be quite disappointed if you did.” It wasn’t as if they didn’t have their own individual lives and interests, but the thing was, none of that mattered to him half as much as getting to shower his wife with everything she deserved and then some. If that meant his work went to the wayside, that was fine by him; it wasn’t as if he wasn’t the one in charge of it. “If it’s a matter of beauty, my love, you’ll always win. That isn’t even a question. You should never worry about that.”
“I’m a lucky girl that you love me even at my absolute worst,” Although there wasn’t even a question that he wouldn’t love her even when she proved to be a lot to handle. Psyche reached up cupping his cheek in her hand running her thumb over the skin there. “You’re one to talk about beauty though. Our children are going to redefine what the word even means someday. Now, stop distracting me and come see the gardens,” she pouted playfully looking up at him although it dissolved quickly in a smile, “Between the two of us I have an entire plan on keeping you to myself today.”

“In that case, it’s obvious they couldn’t possibly hold a candle to you.” Eros wasn’t a fool. He knew that to many of the other gods, it was sickening that after so much time spent together, he and Psyche were just as enamored as they had always been. If anything, with more time that passed in the mortal realm, the stronger he felt for her. Caring about what any of them thought on Olympus or elsewhere wasn’t his concern. “I would love to see them, then.” He promised as his arms slid around her easily, just as they always did, as if they were meant for that exact purpose. He wasn’t entirely convinced that they weren’t. “You should never stop distracting me. My work can wait.”
“I wasn’t going to stop if I’m being completely honest with you,” Psyche wasn’t apologetic that she enjoyed her husband’s attention. Having someone so beautiful actually pay attention to her wasn’t something that she had been use to before her father had left her for him to take. Maybe she should have hated her parents for abandoning her, but it had been the greatest thing anyone had done for her. It gave her Eros. Her smile sweetened as she shook her head. “No they don’t hold a candle to me. But I’m not sure much in the universe does according to you,” she teased leaning in to brush her lips along his own, “but the same goes for you. Not even the sun is as perfect as you are.”

There were plenty of days Eros wondered if Zeus planned to do something horrifically chaotic and cruel just for his own entertainment. If there would be something happening to the mortals that would somehow upset his mother, and therefore make it all Eros’ problem. It wouldn’t be the first time in his immortal life, but it would be less likely for him to care. For all the power and the enjoyment it gave him or the loyalty he felt to Aphrodite still, the love and devotion he felt for Psyche was unending. It had always been that way and it always would. “How are the gardens this morning, my love?” Eros asked as he rose from where he was sat, his project momentarily forgotten, as it always was at the presence of his wife.
As if Psyche could control herself when it came to her husband. She hadn’t been able to even when she couldn’t see him, and that had only become worse the moment she saw those crisp blue eyes and smile that stilled her heart. She wasted no time wrapping her arms around his neck simply enjoying being near him physically as she truly studied his face for a moment before she broke out in an even wider smile. “I would say beautiful, but they never compare to you. You should see the new flowers though they’re blooming beautifully and adding such a beautiful shade of purple. What about your project though?” She asked shooting a glance toward his work table knowing she had pulled him away from something at least a little important. “Do I need to stop distracting you?”

For so long of her life all Psyche had ever wanted was to be loved. Truly and authentically loved. Everyone had always admired her beauty, but they had quickly moved on and found partners leaving her in her own misery. It wasn’t until her father came home telling her she was to be married to a stranger that things truly changed for her. Even during those days where she couldn’t see Eros she had felt his love. It was her sisters’ evil thoughts that had poisoned that very love, but she had fought to regain that trust that was needed for their relationship to thrive. She was grateful every single day that she had his affection now. She could have lived without the beautiful home and wonderful gifts he showered her with, but she couldn’t live without him. “Eros?” She called out happily stepping in from the gardens she needed to see her husband as soon as she could. Purely for the fact that she had missed him that greatly for the mere hours they had been apart.
