After the Rain (Japanese: 恋は雨上がりのように, Hepburn: Koi wa Ameagari no Yō ni, which translates to "Love Is Like After the Rain") is a touching Japanese manga series created by Jun Mayuzuki. Initially serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly Big Comic Spirits from June 2014 to November 2015, and later in Weekly Big Comic Spirits until March 2018, the series concluded with a total of 10 tankōbon volumes.

The story centers on Akira Tachibana, a high school student who works part-time at a family restaurant. Her life changes when she develops feelings for Masami Kondo, the restaurant’s 45-year-old manager. Masami, a kind and timid man who has been through a divorce and has a young son, becomes the unexpected focus of Akira's affection. As Akira grapples with her feelings and the complexities of her situation, she must decide whether to express her emotions to Masami.

After the Rain was adapted into a 12-episode anime series by Wit Studio, which aired from January to March 2018 on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block. Additionally, a live-action film adaptation was released in May 2018. In North America, Vertical licensed the manga, publishing it in five omnibus volumes from September 2018 to September 2019. Sentai Filmworks holds the license for the anime series' home video and digital releases.

The manga has been well-received, with over two million copies in circulation by April 2018 and won the 63rd Shogakukan Manga Award in the general category that same year.

Key Characters:

Akira Tachibana (Voiced by Sayumi Watabe, English by Luci Christian; Played by Nana Komatsu): A high school student and former track team member, Akira falls for Masami after a kind gesture from him during a rainy day. Despite her seemingly aloof exterior, she’s quite shy and reserved, especially around Masami.

Masami Kondo (Voiced by Hiroaki Hirata, English by Jason Douglas; Played by Yo Oizumi): The 45-year-old manager of the family restaurant who is kind but often seen as weak by his staff. Divorced and father to a young son, Masami is initially unaware of Akira’s true feelings for him.

Love is Better the Second Time Around Koi wo Suru nara Nidome ga Joto

Synopses: One day, Akihiro Miyata, a mid-level editor at a business magazine, visits popular university associate professor Takashi Iwanaga to ask him to write an economics column. However, that person was his first love, whom he broke up with during his high school days! It has been more than ten years since he moved to Tokyo. Miyata, who had completely sealed off the past where he had a big love affair to the point where he promised to elope, was able to find a girlfriend who was thinking of marrying him and was living a “normal” life. Even after they meet again by chance, Miyata treats him as a business partner and vows never to fall in love with Iwanaga again. Takamatsu Aloha ( Tokyo in April...) plays the supporting role of Shiraishi Yuto, Takashi's assistant. And apparently he has a crush on him. And I can already tell I'll be rooting for the wrong guy in this triangle. Look at him.

Directed by Yasukawa Yuka (Jack O'Frost) Another very exciting detail. The production team got Ayumu Imazu to write a new song for the series. For those who don't know, he's the artist that wrote Sunshower, the absolute incredible song that was part of Eternal Yesterday OST.

Watch First 5 Minutes of Ryusei Yokohama-starring Usogui Live-action Film

    Warner Brothers Japan's official YouTube channel has started streaming the first five minutes of the live-action film adaptation of Toshio Sako's gambling-themed manga Usogui (The Lie Eater), ae well as a short introduction by Ryusei Yokohama (Baku Madarame) and Hayato Sano (Takaomi Kaji). The film opens with a Rubik's Cube game between two characters on the roof of a building. 

        The original Usogui manga was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump from 2006 to 2018 and has printed 8.8 million copies in 49 tankobon volumes. The production of its live-action adaptation film was announced back in 2016 as the manga's 10th-anniversary project.

  Its story centers on a high IQ genius gambler, Baku Madarame, who is called Usogui (The Lie Eater), in a head-to-head psychological battle for life and death with top cheaters at Kakerou, a black-ops club that controls Japan's political and business world. Ryusei Yokohama (Hikari Nonomura / ToQ 4gou in the 2014 Super Sentai TV series Ressha Sentai ToQger) is cast as the protagonist Baku Madarame, alongside Hayato Sano (Yu Ishigami in the Kaguya-sama: Love Is War live-action film series) as his partner Takaomi Kaji.

  The Hideo Nakta (the Ring series)-directed film was released in 339 theaters across Japan on February 11, 2022, then made its fifth place debut with 90 million yen (780,000 USD). The film has received mixed-to-negative reviews, ranking only sixth on Filmarks' first day satisfaction ranking with an average rating of 3.06 based on 483 reviews.

Record of Grancrest War (Last: 2): The Mage Academy launched its open attack on the lords and ordered Aishela to assassinate Theo and Siluca. Predictably, she didn't try very hard. Now the Imperial Army is coalescing and ready to match.

Kamen Rider Build (Last: 3): Banjo's separation from Stark meant that his ability to transform was gone, but in a later fight, he willed himself into an upgrade. But Stark still got a new form and Sento reverted to Katsuragi.

Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory (Last: 5): While Sagara's team struggled to stay alive, he defeated an M9 piloted by a former Mithril merc. He prepared to confront the police chief now that he had clear Amalgam links, but Kurama had Nami hostage and Sagara faced more opponents than he had bullets.

Golden Kamuy (Last: 4): Shiraishi was captured by Hijikata's group and they basically ordered him to keep working with Sugimoto's. The three moved to the coast to search for one of the prisoners, a serial murderer looking for a solid opponent.

Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line (Last: 7): After remembering how Ashikiba crushed him in practice, Yuto was launched into a battle for the finish line, and his unorthodox approach forced Midosuji and Imaizumi to tread carefully.

Megalo Box (Last: NR): As in previous matches, Joe took a massive beating and kept getting back up. Joe dropped his guard to fool Mikio's AI into inaction, then he created an opening to land a single match-winning punch early in the fourth round.

GeGeGe no Kitaro (Last: 8): This week's special anti-harrassment episode featured Rat Man's overzealous crush on Mana leading to an investigation which discovered another yokai causing trouble because the girl he was stalking fled for her safety.
