What fandoms do you write for? I'm deep in Masters of the Air now, obviously. I've also written for Band of Brothers and Generation Kill. I dabble a LOT, so my overall fandom list is very long. Way back in the day I wrote a lot of West Wing. I did a lot of Guy/Kyle in Green Lantern, and then Law & Order: SVU ate my brain for several years even though I can't actually say the show was ever good. Oh, and I was in Avengers fandom hanging out with my fellow Phlint crew at one point.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I tend to write happy endings most of the time, so you can really just pick one, but I think it's probably A New Mode of Living (Band of Brothers, Speirs/Lipton), and I'm including the epilogue with that.

Do you get hate on fics? Very occasionally. I just delete/block and move on.

Do you write smut? Oh my yes.

Craziest Crossover? I once had CJ Cregg go on a date with Big Bird. They had a lovely time.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yup! Someone stole a bunch of my Rita/Amanda fics from AO3 and slapped them on Wattpad with Amanda switched for Olivia but everything else verbatim. I reported the shit out of her, and when she moved over to AO3 and literally did the same thing, I reported her again. She accused me of bullying, naturally.

Have you ever had a fic translated? Several! And I have blanket permission for my fics if anyone wants to translate anything. I would love if you'd link back to the original story so I know it's out there.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Eons ago there was a show called Without a Trace, and a friend and I took turns writing vignettes for the same couple. Same friend let me write a sequel to their Leo/Josh West Wing story, and we did a few more things like that. I don't think that any of those survive, however.

All time favorite ship? Speirs/Lipton, Band of Brothers. They are very important to me. They see each other in a very important way, and I treasure them.

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? On the advice of counsel, I refuse to answer.

Seriously, though I don't really have that sort of WIP. Either I'm working on it (A Mighty, Vast, and Dangerous Place is still in active progress), or the idea didn't pan out (a bunch of stuff), or I actively chose to stop working on it (there's a Ted Lasso fic that I will never touch again).

What are your writing strengths? I do good character voices and can get the emotional response I want from readers. I have fun coming up with interesting descriptions.

What are your writing weaknesses? Losing steam. Getting distracted by a new fandom. From a writing-writing standpoint, I have a hard time remembering room layouts or where people are in them. I don't think visually, so I'm always having to scroll back up or make a note so I don't forget a piece of furniture or a whole guy.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language? I got no problems. It's about being able to understand the point of the conversation, not necessarily the words themselves. There's lots of ways to get it across while having the dialogue in a different language than the rest of the fic for whatever reason. But the use of the other language needs to fit the story and the characters, and if you're writing in another language, you better know it's quirks.

First fandom you wrote in? Ahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahaha

Oh, god, it was Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers back when god was a child.

10. Do you ship any characters that have never met? I wouldn't say it's a serious ship since I'm forever a Byler truther, but I do think Gareth & Will from Stranger Things are a really cute pairing. Their ship name is GreatWise! Like how much more adorable could it get? Other than that, I do ship a few characters that never had screentime together (Buckingham from Stranger Things & Phlint from Marvel) but no one else that's never actually met.

24. Do you mostly ship canon pairings? lmao god no. I think my only canon ships right now are Jopper & Lumax (surprise, surprise... more Stranger Things). Otherwise, I live in my delusions.

27. Is there a ship you've shipped for most of your life? Mulder & Scully from The X-Files and Neville & Luna from Harry Potter. It doesn't matter that I'm not caught up at all with the new stuff from the former and I'm very much not a part of the fandom for the latter - those ships are built to last.

Absolutely not!! I'm too much of a control freak and if my procrastination and oh-so-slow writing annoys me, it'd enrage even the calmest of co-writers! I wouldn't do that to an innocent person!

Honestly, I have favourite ships in a fandom, but narrowing down a favourite of all of them, I don't think I can!!! Cop out answer FTW!

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

While I never start a fic in the hope of maybe finishing it as I always start with the intention to finish, sometimes they end up so big, or are outside my sphere of limited talent that they peter out. I have 120k of a Night At The Museum type AU for Stucky that has sat on my hard-drive for nearly a decade, and I'm 65k into a OFMD fic that I'm determined to finish, but at the moment the OFMD is the far far more likely fic to see the light of day

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue for sure. I can write whole fic that are just nothing but dialogue, and then I go back in and fill it out. The dialogue is the skeleton I work the rest onto

The Man On The Wall is my baby. I wrote it twice so its my sweetheart. It was also a serious labour of love at 474,747 words (also I love how neat that word count is) very very close second is Life, Written and Illustrated By in the Merlin fandom. It was my first foray into Merthur and was part of a competitive pornathon and I won that weeks with it so huuuuge confidence boost for my writing

Weekly Writing Update

I didn't write as much as I wanted to this week, but I did make progress in the Phlint Christmas fic! This fic takes place Dec 22 - Jan 2, and I'm currently about halfway through Dec 27, so we're about halfway there I'd say?

In this scene, Phil had been talking to his teenage nephew about his time in the Army until Natasha came in and basically scared the nephew off lol.

“Did you interrupt for a particular reason?” Phil asked, without accusation. Natasha rarely had a bad reason for doing anything she did. “You were selling yourself short,” Natasha responded. She slipped across the kitchen, leaning on the counter next to him. “It’s not just your old staff sergeant and Fury who are makers of men—and women. It’s you. Phil Coulson.” Phil frowned, and Natasha laid a hand on his arm. “Don’t forget who you are, Coulson.” As if he could forget, when standing in his ancestral home surrounded by his mother’s things. Everything in this house, in this family reminded him of exactly who he was—that lost and angry teenage boy who’d been shipped off to the Army as a last ditch effort to fix him. “How can I forget when my entire family is currently reminding me daily.” “No,” Natasha’s voice was soft but firm, her eyes soft as she studied him. “That’s not who you are. And they are not your family.” She leaned up and pressed her lips to his cheek. “Don’t forget who you belong to,” she said, her lips brushing his cheek. And then she pulled away, disappearing from the kitchen before he could react or pull his thoughts together. Phil’s hand strayed up to his cheek, skimming the spot where her lips had touched. Natasha Romanoff had never kissed him before, at least not outside of a mission where a cover called for it. In fact, Phil had never seen her kiss anyone other than Clint. Clint, who was her world, her family, hers. Don’t forget who you belong to. Phil’s fingers fell from the cheek where the Black Widow had marked him to his pocket where the ring hid.

Remember that time in 2012 when I posted something about Phil x Clint and someone messaged me saying they didn't want that abusive ship on their dash and that I was an asshole for not caring about people because I hadn't tagged it--it was tagged but autocorrect decided "Phlint" needed to be "Pliny" and I hadn't noticed

Or a year or so later when I accidentally hit "like" on one of those posts that was like "reblog if you support queers or hit like to set every f*g on fire and cover in fire ants" and they very adamantly told me I should die despite it being very clear from just two seconds of being on my blog that that isn't true

Or when I called a baby chick an "it" and someone told me I was being disrespectful of the animal's gender

Or when I made a post about being a transracial adoptee and someone told me it was "super fucking racist" to claim to be part of another race as a white person when in fact the term transracial properly refers to the experiences of a person adopted into a family of a race other than their own (spoiler alert, I'm not white but my family is!)???

Or the time a couple months ago when I commented on a post in which I asserted that Americans do in fact use metric measurements pretty often (labs, doctors, medications, etc) someone told me that "no, actually, US Americans seldom use anything other than tea/tablespoons for medications" and their qualifications for making that statement was that they were US American...and despite the fact that I too am American and holding 15 medications (rx and OTC) that are in metric????????

Or when someone got overly aggressive because I said Ft. Myers, FL was in "south Florida" (yes, it's considered the starting point for south Florida but that doesn't make the front door any less part of the house)

I miss those days 🤣🤣🤣
