In love with the idea of captain marvel being Billy's imaginary friend. Like, it'd be so easy. Early depictions had them as almost fully separate people sometimes, like one soul with two minds, rather than just two filters like we mostly see now.

But imagine a Billy down on his luck, hurt and hiding from police and criminals alike, daydreaming the hours away as children do, taking inspiration from all the superheroes rising to fame, making little stories to play out his dreams of saving the world with a generic action doll he found while dumpster diving once. Most of the paint's rubbed off.

Red's his favourite colour, his comfiest jumper is a bright ruby even after all the grime and washes. Gold, too, it's shiny and warmer than silver! A hero cape is a must, big and eye catching! And he can fly, of course, like superman, and in his daydreams, when he's sore and frustrated after a long day's grind, his superhero is smart enough and knows all the right words to get the bullies to stop without resorting to fighting.

His superhero fantasy is one he spends a lot of time on, the first one he goes for when struggling to sleep at night, and he can picture it so clearly. Captain marvel is big and bright and kind, strong enough to lift the boxes for the old lady up the road who's moving all by himself, fast enough to catch Jamie who fell out of the tree on Saturday and broke his leg and couldn't come to class for weeks. He appears at the entrance to alleys when Billy is cornered, he steps up behind to cover for him when he gets caught shoplifting, he sits at the bus stop with him when it's pouring rain and the right bus doesn't seem to be coming.

And then the wizard comes, or rather whisks him away, and like a magician from a fairytale breathes life into his imaginary friend until Billy feels thrice his size and a million times more invincible.

From then on, captain marvel is a real hero, just like Billy is a real boy, and as one they save the whole city, and then the whole world, and get cats down from trees and help Mrs Victoria move the last of her boxes and she gives them a pinch in the cheek and cookies for the road and sometimes it hurts but it's so much better than he imagined.

Not me debating writing an Aventio fic based on a book I really loved... urgh-

I got Aven recently and just finished his arc in Penacony and I am incredibly bored! I wanna write while I have the energy...

Basic premise is its based on a book called Written In Red, which I feel absolutely fits Aventurine??? Look at the book first, give it a read, and tell me the main character doesn't remind you of him. I will go feral.

Anyways if you don't, the premise of the book is that the main character, a blood prophet who is also a slave, escapes and runs away from captivity to a town in order to hide and live amongst sentient predators called "Others", basically ancient as fuck monsters that can swap between animal and human forms. Others actually do prey on humans, but it's modern times and they have a begrudging agreement to coexist with humans because they make decent stuff that the Others can't create. The main character ends up living among them and figures out herself, while also teaching the Others some new things. It's actually a nice book in my opinion.

I'd have to reread the book but yeah. That would be the very basic idea. I already have a character list of who is who lmao.

I wouldn't make it a carbon copy of the book though, not with the characters I have in mind, but it would be a similar plot at least. Consider giant wolf Ratio, everybody, that's all I'm giving you.

this is from @eebuckley my partner <3 i've alluded to it in the tags of this blog but i used to be a semi-popular MCU blogger from like 2018 to 2020. (semi-popular for the ship i wrote, anyway) and since like, probably Infinity War/Endgame i have been slowly more and more disillusioned by the MCU ranging from only passively being interested in projects to outright despising them if i saw them. which sort of sucks, given how much i loved the MCU at it's height. i was like. aggressively into it. like a "i had asthma attacks watching trailers bc i got so excited" level of into it. maybe cringey in hindsight, honestly but yk. whatever brings you joy, ig.

and anyway- my partner witnessed my very real and normal reaction to the Thunderbolts* trailer and now i'm *mad* bc i'm actually excited about it. it made me feel about the MCU a way i haven't felt in years, especially after a lot of announcements that rlly pissed me off.

cannot believe it looks like we might actually get a comics-accurate Yelena and a comics-accurate Bucky. i'm such a sucker for Bucky Barnes, he's one of the only Marvel characters i actually read Marve comics for and i'm forever bitter how badly he got screwed over. if that movie is good i'm going to end up writing fanfiction. probably crossover fanfiction bc over my dead body will i write just plain MCU fanfic. and i'm a Jason Todd/Bucky shipper anyway so i could make it work, i think-

I think getaway and tailgate being friends or at least interacting more in some universe after everything would be sooo funny. Because tailgate barely gaf about what getaway did he's like man you fucking lied to me and almost got me murdered but he says it so casually like... getaway did Not do a number on him. That mech does Not matter to him At All. I think they could be chill and it would be hilarious.

I'd like to see more of getaway being genuine; that bastard he is on the inside. It's really entertaining to me when he's not putting on his nice guy act. That's why I like making him interact with rodimus so much, he's such a bastard towards him... sir you are Jealous!!! Don't worry, at least I love you.

But I genuinely don't get how people can hate him with such intensity because the way he does everything is so funny??? He gossips like a teenage girl... he's so dramatic all the time that I can't take any of his "evilness" seriously.

Because he isn't evil. He's genuinely just a loser. He's... sensitive I guess??? In the sense that he's so easily affected by the things around him, has been molded by his environment and the opinions of him (MTO stuff) since he was created. He's not a scary evil villain in ANY sense. Before any of the Megatron plot he was so chill with the crew.

He's pathetic, and he wants GOD'S approval. What can you hate about this guy when his life is so sad ahaha.

Is this a part of some game show? Like we had to date in order to win a big prize or something like that? Oooor like, is this some sort of, like, dire situation thing where you have to date someone given the choices or you both die or something?" His questions came out at a rapid speed as he considered the parameters that were not set at all, but the word choice made him curious.

"Well, uh, it'd be weird to ask Suyin or Baatar Sr. I mean, I assume Baatar Sr. took his wife's last name — I never asked — but anyway, they're married butalsoitwouldbeweirdeveniftheyweren't. And then Baatar Jr. on the other hand is under house arrest, so that would kinda makes dating difficult, I think. And it'd beeee, uh, suuuuper weird to ask Toph or Lin even if they aren't married to anyone OR under house arrest. Soooooo, that would just leave Huan and the twins." The earthbender pursed his lips together again, still pondering but satisfied with his eliminations.

"I feel like if it's under dangerous circumstances, all three of them would accept the circumstances in order to save their lives; Huan pretty reluctantly would, but I'm sure he'd want to keep making art and I'd say dating me isn't as bad as... the other option." He paused to grimace a bit. "But if it's just for a prize, he probably wouldn't care. But the twins are super competitive and I know they'd do anything to win whatever, so they'd be all for splitting a prize, and if anything, bragging rights," he added the end part with a chuckle.

"Buuuuuuuuuut if it's not the case of there being any prizes or lives on the line, then..." Bolin paused for dramatic effect before a little smirk appeared on his face with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "I'd pick whoever I would actually develop romantic feelings for after getting to know them a little better and if they happen to share mutual feelings for me.

"I mean, I know I'm irresistible, but I've definitely learned that folks should be comfortable on both sides of the relationship to really make things work — of course going in hand-in-hand with all the other important things like communication and patience and all that jazz. Plus, I love getting know people better and seeing all their good sides!"
