Concept sketch of my new JJBA self insert and her stand, BellaDonna (who will eventually be known as Madonna). Inspired by the song 'Like a Prayer' by...well, Madonna! @sapphire-heart-tippy

(lore dump under the cut, TW for mentions of animal injury and religious trauma)

My self insert (who will also go by Jane) grew up in a deeply religious family and tried to be a good jehovah's witness child that made her parents proud.

One day, she comes up with the power to heal various injuries and ailments, almost to the point of being able to revive the dead. She figures she's given this power by the lord himself and vows to do good with it, but when she's found using them to heal a bird that had been wounded by a cat, her mother falls into hysterics thinking that she MUST be possessed by the devil to have such abilities.

She's punished and shunned by her community while her mother prays for a cure and though she tries to repent her power doesn't seem to go away, so eventually her mother snaps and drags her into the wilderness and attempts to throw her to the bottom of an old well.

Her Stand, which had previously not manifested physically, appears then to cushion her fall and eventually she manages to pull herself out of the well with her Stand's help, who she now believes to be a guardian angel. But not wanting to return home, she runs away to face the world alone, growing jaded and bitter over time. She loses all of her faith, and the power to heal inverts itself, becoming a sort of poison. Something that LEECHES life, rather than heal it.

When she's an adult (my age irl so 25 I guess) she's made her way by becomes a bounty hunter/assassin using her Stand and eventually catches the attention of Dio. Who takes her in and explains to her what her Stand REALLY is, promising to teach her how to properly wield those powers if she agrees to serve him. She reluctantly takes his offer, but starts to see him as a familial figure, since no one else had ever tried to nurture or even accept her gift. Dio is the one who giver her Stand the name BellaDonna, after the deadly plant!

"how could anyone ship bloodweave they make no sense at all" did you think about their stories, their motives, their ailments, their shared hobbies, the subtle progression of their relationship throughout the acts, and how very similar they can be despite being different. i know that you didn't but if you had then perhaps you would understand why some people might ship them, especially since a) you can successfully romance them in an origin run thus making it possible, b) astarion already tries flirting with gale unprompted in act 1, and c) you can romance astarion with a good-aligned pc and romance gale with an evil-aligned pc. so, like. what's not clicking

OVERALL my favourite ever ship. tbh at this point in my life its probably Soriku. theyre EVERYTHING to me.

I like other Kingdom Hearts ships passively (namixi, Kailette, Roxner, Axel/Saix but idk whats going on w them just yet, even Sorikai to some degree?) but none of them scratch the same itch that Soriku does for me

TO BE HONEST a lot of my All Time Favourite Ships (TM) are queerbaiting. and I think that Soriku is actively healing that wound AKJNDKASDNKJASND

The closest to Soriku is Wrightworth aka Narumitsu from Ace Attorney. they are actually so soriku coded but like if they were 25 instead of 15 and also if magical key fighting was (checks notes) law

Oh!!! I actually really like Lucius with both Black Pete and Izzy in Our Flag Means Death. Im so serious when I say that when (spoilers lol) Izzy died in the season 2 finale among my first thoughts was "Lucius is never gonna fuck that old man :(" but Lucius + Pete are very very sweet and i love them.

Kristen/Gertie isnt fair on gertie lol. and Mazey is 100% my favourite Junior Year NPC but her becoming Fabians gf was so disappointing to me, like he never acted like he liked her back even once. Fig/Ayda youre the light of my life and i love you).

The whole point of the van scene was that it wasn’t about el. It’s about will’s feelings for Mike and how he is using el as a shield.

And the crazy together scene was just them being them. Like it had nothing to do with el. It was just about them talking about their feelings and Mike saying that he was going to stay with will no matter what happened. Like it was never about el.

I've said this before but genuinely working with kids who love WOF for a solid 80% of my week for the past year/year and a half is what's actually killed my interest in WOF (tho I'm still here, obviously, and the ttrpg isn't going anywhere). Like,,,, idk man they have stickers on their water bottles of their fave guys and I think it's just made me detach a lot more from the rewriting I do bc as long as kids are having fun with it I kind of settle into a neutral tolerance instead of the like writing mania that this blog has operated on for the past,,,,,, jesus, it's been 8 years.

Nene - primarina/rotom/hatterene. Primarina is self explanatory, the rotom was originally rui’s but it possesses robonene so it’s hers now, and hatterene…

Emu - bewear/mr. mime/togekiss. Bewear is funny (& similar to the mascot bodyguard), Mr. Mime is self explanatory, togekiss is self explanatory wrt Pokédex entries.

Rui - porygon z/mimikyu/silvaly. I feel like all of these are pretty self explanatory.

Tsukasa - dragonite/sylveon/rapidash. Dragonite is a wxs world link reference, sylveon just fits, rapidash because there is no Pegasus pokemon.
