despite satou being a yandere, and the age gap, satou and shio together are actually very sweet and wholesome! satou comes from a broken home and did not know how to love until she met shio, and shio comes from an extremely abusive and broken home and was abandoned by her mother in the rain. satou found shio and took her in to take care of her, and works a job so she can provide for her. satou also never does anything sexual with shio, and theres a cute scene where they have a fake wedding and exchange made up vows and rings. it ends tragically, and they jump off a roof together rather than be separated, but satou shields shio to make sure she survives the fall, because she wants shio to live no matter what. - Sato, a gay pedophile, spent years seeking love in the constraints of compulsory heterosexuality/teleiophilia (attraction to adults), constantly failing to find connection with anyone she dated or slept with. She didn't understand the sensation of true love until she met Shio. Falling instantly in love, Sato picks Shio up off the street and whisks her home to her apartment to live a married couple domestic fantasy. Sato works hard every day to support her new wife, and the pair recite wedding vows to each other every night. Their love isn't one-sided on Sato's part - Shio adores Sato and wants to be with her forever. -

I think a lot about how tomura and the lov would react to certain behaviors Shio would exhibit due to being gr00med. And I just feel sick to my stomach, like throwing up, but also sad. I think of the things Satou has normalized for Shio and so forth and the way Shio acts because of that. And the lov and tomura slowly realizing it.

Thinking of them realizing the relationship between Shio and Satou. And then, Shio being eventually explained to that she was gr00med and just.. sad. Her reaction might depend on when in hsl story the lov are telling her this, but I feel like she overall would get upset and deny it (especially after the events of hsl). My brain is just thinking of her saying all the things like how Satou was nothing like her family or anyone. She was warm. She loved Shio, and Shio loved her, and how they could possibly never understand. And Tomura’s just there (this taking place later in mha’s story) and all he can think about is AFO and how he felt with him. He was a father figure. He was warmth, a ‘helping hand’ when everyone walked by him. He loved afo… and he thought AFO loved him back. But he was justing using and abusing him. He was gr00med. And he’s just thinking of it all through Shio’s words. He obviously can’t understand the differences in how they were groomed (tomura was groomed into a weapon, shio was romantically groomed), but he can understand the pain and how badly she, and how badly he at the time, couldn’t bear the thought that he was being abused. That the one person who he loved and thought loved him, would hurt him so much.

SatouShio Propaganda (Underage, Age Gap - Satou is 15 and Shio is 8, Unhealthy dynamic - Satou keeps Shio locked inside constantly)

"Those that know Happy Sugar Life might be looking at this ship with the question of "How does a fifteen year old yandere kidnapping and isolating an eight year old child make it a good ship?" - To begin with, there's the fact that Satou's love is based on love alone, rather than lust. Before meeting Shio, she'd go through hundreds of boys using lust (not as an emotion, but tactic) to try and figure out if any could spark love, but none did. Due to her past with her aunt, she wasn't able to spark any emotion, all of it was falsified. Upon meeting Shio, and Shio explaining what she felt love was, Satou felt her first true emotions in a long time.

On top of that, out of every character in Happy Sugar Life, as bad as Satou can be, she is the best person for Shio to be with - and there is no arguing otherwise. If she heads back to her father, she'll be beaten and abused. If she goes with her brother Asahi and her mother, she'd be starving and impoverished - on top of that, Shio's mother outright openly stated she was abandoning Shio when Satou first met her, and Taiyou almost outright states he desires Shio physically, unlike Satou's emotional-focused desires. If we look at the scenes Shio goes outside, the streets are as dangerous for her as Satou's claiming during Shio's isolation. Satou taking Shio back to the apartment they stay in was the best case scenario for Shio.

In episode 5, Shio even states that she loves Satou - more than anyone in her family - and that Satou is warmer than her family. It's hard to make an argument that Shio should be with anyone but Satou, despite the nature of the anime. Shio wants to be there, and is better off there than she would be with anyone else. Satou may be a murderer, but in all cases of murder it's either to protect Shio's safety outright, or to protect their relationship together - Satou loves Shio romantically, and Shio loves Satou back. While some may argue Satou's love is familial, they kiss on the lips in episode 2, recite wedding vows every night, and have another more intimate chaste kiss in episode 11 during a pseudo-wedding where they exchange rings."

"Satou also doesn't see this reason for murder as a bad thing, nor the murder as a bad thing - it's justified to her because she's protecting Shio and their love. The first thing she ever apologises to Shio for is kissing another girl and telling someone else she loves them - it was a lie to the other girl, but Satou still breaks down apologising to Shio for betraying their love this way. The only thing that matters to her is that she treats Shio with true love. Being with Satou brings Shio happiness and joy, and being with Shio is the only thing bringing Satou any form of emotion. Shio is her light and her reason for continuing on, she'd give up without her. The two are doomed from the start, with Satou dying and Shio keeping both wedding rings and Satou's ribbon, claiming Satou is in her heart and they're together forever now, but I am near certain if Shio didn't ask Satou to die together, they would've been able to find a way to retain a happy love life after leaving the town."

"During the original series, Ben and Gwen were almost always bickering, arguing, name-calling (calling each other "Doofus" or "Dweebs"), making fun of each other, or fighting. They had a love/hate relationship. However, deep down they really do care about each other as shown on various occasions throughout the show. Especially in Secret of The Omnitrix, when Ben would go far lengths to keep Gwen out of danger. Such as transforming into Four Arms, despite the fact that the Omnitrix's self-destruct mode countdown would only accelerate. When he found out that she was still alive, he ran through the open field of heavy fire in order to hug her.

In the Omniverse continuation, even though Gwen went to college early in the show, both have openly stated that they miss each other a lot (hugging one another before she left in The More Things Change: Part 1). Gwen ALSO runs to hug Ben when he returns to Earth in The Frogs of War: Part 2. While I'm also very much an original continuation type of girl, their bickering relationship is toned down immensely in the 2016 reboot with more heartfelt and considerate moments between Ben and Gwen looking out for each other."

"First and Latest Incest Ships"

I'm not sure how much it counts as "True" incest, due to the backstory of these characters being unclear on if they were simply friends, or genuinely related, before the events of the series - but my first incest ship was all of the Delightful Children From Down The Lane from Codename: Kids Next Door with each other. I had more ships with Ashley specifically, but none of them incest.

My latest incest ship is one that I'm not sure has a proper name, but I've seen called "Lyncest" - Lyney and Lynette from Genshin Impact. In Lyney's story quest we learn of floral symbolism in Teyvat, and that Rainbow Roses represent love. Lynette gets a little jealous when she sees Lyney hand someone else a Rainbow Rose before she ever gets one from him. It made me ship them so fast.

My first ship with a yandere was caused thanks to @ask-the-matsus-and-ayano-blog's blog a while ago. The ship (obviously) being Ayano Aishi and all the Matsuno siblings. This post in particular made me adore how the ship is shown. They're such a cute polycule!

My latest ship with a yandere is definitely SatouShio - Satou Matsuzaka and Shio Koube from Happy Sugar Life. Satou is so determined to protect Shio from being taken away or hurt by the outside world that she goes to extreme lengths, often not healthy for Shio's development or enrichment - but despite that she's trying to give what she can to balance things out. It's just expensive and difficult... They were about to run away together to possibly counter that lack of enrichment, but sometimes things go very wrong all at once.

28. "First & Latest enemies ships"

I'm going to be perfectly honest here, I'm not really an enemies shipper when it comes to most things. I can only really think of two ships that fit the bill, and even then, I'm not sure the latter would be aware of each other as enemies.

The first would be Ashley of the Delightful Children From Down The Lane with Fanny Fulbright/Numbuh 86 from Codename: Kids Next Door. I liked the idea of Ashley sneaking off to hang out with a KND member as non-enemies from time to time, and Numbuh 86 doing the same to relax after a difficult day of working decommissioning. Their very different attitudes to life had me thinking they'd make a cute overly-loud blunt girl x polite goody-two-shoes trope.

My latest, which I'm not sure would even be aware of each other as enemies, is Childe/Tartaglia/Ajax and Amber from Genshin Impact. Childe is a Fatui Harbinger, while Amber is an Outrider for the Knights of Favonius, who aren't exactly on the best terms with the Fatui. Amber is also a bow user, as is Childe - but it's canonical that the bow is the weapon that Childe is the worst at using, to the point he throws his last arrow instead of shooting it. I like to imagine Amber seeing him use a bow this way, and immediately come over to teach him proper holding stance and position, not recognizing he's Fatui. I'm sure we all know how weapon teaching classes can go with ships over time... lots of fluff and cute contact potential.

Yeah... it's a shame because HSL is ripe for analysis and has a lot of interesting themes. I always found the main characters appealing in part because while Satou loves Shio, it's more depicted in an innocent light as motherly love rather than romantic. She was never meant to be a good person, however, and the manga doesn't hide that.

Shouko and Asahi make for a far more wholesome couple tbh. If people wanted to go the yandere route they could stick with Satou x Sumire

Hot take maybe? BUT IM SO TIRED OF PEOPLE CALLING SATOU A P*DOPHILE. She’s not. She’s a child groomer. She romantically groomed a child. There’s a difference. And don’t let the word change make you think that she’s “not as bad” because I know word changes like that are often used to by p words to make themself look less bad to the public. She’s still a terrible person. She still groomed and abused a child. But I feel like the idea that she’s a p*dophile is such a huge misunderstanding of her character. Satou is a SURVIVOR of SA and p*dophilia. Not to mention shows no s*xual interest in Shio (and more against it), which is the basis of the p word. Satou is disgusted by s*x due to her trauma. And she wants to keep Shio happy and “innocent.” And while that doesn’t stop her from other actions (like the marriage vows or kissing), hence romantic grooming. And she’s still a terrible person. She’s not a p word. And I think its important to understand her character because Satou in the end is a story of how victims of abuse can become abusers themselves. She’s a “cautionary tale.” And it’s important to understand how she got there. And I feel like labeling her as ‘bad p word’ and just leaving it there is such a untrue and surface look at her character. Satou is not “just a big bad evil” and she’s not a misunderstood hero. She is a terrible person with terrible actions, but her emotions and intentions are real and pure. Her trauma is real. And the way it has effected her has warped her perception in life. I? SatouSatou Propaganda (Age Gap, "Minor Coded" Adult, AdultxMinor, AdultxTeen)

Satou Matsuzaka is shown to have canonical interest in Shio Koube, a minor of small stature. While Mod Satou is not a minor, she is 4'7" in height and despite being a real person has been labelled "Minor Coded" due to this, possibly making her adorable in a way that feels sweet and non-bitter to Satou Matsuzaka. Mod Satou enjoys many of the same sweet flavors that Satou Matsuzaka enjoys, on top of that, such as chocolate, konpeito candy, specific cakes, and more!

UltraHappy Propaganda (Age Gap, AdultxMinor, AdultxTeen, "Sexualised" Adult)

Miyuki Hoshizora is a fourteen year old girl that transforms into Cure Happy to fight against the Bad End Kingdom and give a happy ending to the world. Miyuki also adores when the stories and picture books she reads have a happy ending, prefering children's books to anything more teen-oriented. Mod Happy also enjoys this style of book due to finding the topics and happy endings more comfortable than more gritty or taboo scenarios - though she doesn't judge anyone for what they may prefer.

While Miyuki's interest lies in fairytales, Mod Happy's interest lies in sillier children's books, such as "I don't want to go to bed", "The Tiger Who Came To Tea", and such. Miyuki, however, is known to canonically encourage interests others might see as childish even at adult ages, and would vouch for Mod Happy being perfectly fine to have the interest without it being labelled childish.

As for the "Sexualised" comment, Mod Happy is 36R in bust size in real life, and many people have called her Sexualised due to it, simply for her existing. Some people have even told her to edit her bust to be smaller in photos before she posts them, because it's not "appropriate for younger people to see". Miyuki likely wouldn't stand for any sort of bodyshaming like that - she wants everyone to be able to have the right to be Ultra Happy, and that includes photos of their memories as they were experienced.

These two both just want the world to be able to have a little more positivity and a lot less hate in it. The two could work together to achieve that.
