once again i am RIOTING at how involved hitch and marlowe are in the manga uprising arc. when floch is introduced in ch. 70 and levi squad + marlowe act like veterans who've seen some shit, it makes way more sense when marlowe and hitch

were fugitive levi squad's liaisons to hange (61-62)

chauffeured levi squad to the reiss lands (62-63)

stood as armed guards outside the chapel (64) + presumably got their shit rocked as the rotisserie chicken titan slithered out

stuck with levi squad all the way to orvud district; they hear all the tea about titan inheritance; they meet erwin?? (67)

like yes stohess was traumatic, but rod reiss is the only pure titan hitch ever lays eyes on, and iiiiii kind of unkindly headcanon that marlowe is not nearly as bothered by all the death as hitch is

I find this list hilarious because it's expected, but also mostly not indicative of my tastes... fic 1 was the first fic the account has & it's boring as hell. modern aus put me to sleep. the reincarnation fic is exactly 300 words so does it even count.... the other two I enjoyed writing at least!

do you respond to comments?

I TRY TO... In practice it mostly happens 6 months later. Sometimes I give up on entire fics because I don't want to only respond to some comments, and if someone comments on more than one fic I don't wanna spam them! T___T so I want to reply to only one of theirs. but this again makes it look like I'm only replying to some ~> endless loop of stress omfg... my heavens this is a science

what's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

grouping these together because I have no idea. so much of my writing is for others so I doubt anything truly angsty is in there, since people rarely like it. and EYE hate super happy endings, so that probably hasn't happened either.

do you get hate on fics?

no, because I'm perfect. (I don't think I've written for any fandom that's prone to leaving hate comments.)

do you write smut? if so, what kind?

sure! but only 11 of the 67 fics have an M or E rating for sexual content, so not often. As for what kind... I don't know? I'll try anything once! The closest thing to a real answer I have is that I find F/F smut easier to write than M/M & I'm NGL, I'll take any opportunity to write (imply) stone tops, because it's something I always wish there was more of.

do you write crossovers? what’s the craziest one you've written?

Only once! It's actually the one thing I feel too embarrassed to write... alienselffucking is okay, but I draw the line at making people aware I like my faves meeting my other faves!

have you ever had a fic stolen?

WHY WOULD YOU ASK ME THIS. I am on the floor. I'm a multishipper for a reason!!! I can't have fave ships!

The only ship that has ever made me monofannish for a little bit though was Magnus Bane/Alec Lightwood from Shadowhunters TV show, which at the time felt very random (that is NOT a high quality tv show), but now it does kind of make sense

they're on opposite sides & both are high ranking (avoiding fealty kink yesssss. I am so tired of fantasy ships with fealty kink.)

there's internalised homophobia

MONSTERS. I love WEAPONRY and FIGHTING

they have a breakup arc that stems from the opposite sides-ing

Not enough cannibalism and vore and stabbing each other going on there for me to continue being monofannish, but it was a pretty big accomplishment!

what are your writing strengths?

I HATE THIS QUESTION. I don't know! I think I'm solid in many areas & not yet exceptional in any (but I believe in me! One day!)

Prose economy is the thing I pride myself most in, I guess. Running on implication rather than explanation. I also like to think I'm good at understanding lots of different character motivations.

what are your writing weaknesses?

My heavens x100. Can't write anything long. The prose economy thing bites me in the ass often -- paragraphs read clunkier than they should & there are some things that DO need explaining. The fact that I have an ego the size of Jupiter and believe that nothing will stay a weakness, even if it takes me 30 years to fix it. I can't write humour. I can't write tropey, "fun" fic. I'm slow, like VERY slow. Like 200 words an hour slow. I can't write "iddy" fic. I can't write without having an ending in mind. I can't write if I don't have a point in mind. I can't write if I don't read at least 20 pages of prose I enjoy beforehand. I don't think my dialogue sucks but I don't think it's good either.

thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

If the character mixes languages, I'm in favour! I don't much like it when the words are italicised or have their first letter capitalised, though -- I'm always against anything that marks a word or culture as "the other". Also sometimes the sentences end up profoundly unserious, a la "Today I joined my Abuela to go to the Mercado to buy some Berenjenas."

And a funny coincidence to note here is that, the people who ship these non-canon ships are usually the ones who are nice, friendly, and welcoming. While the people who ship the canon ships are usually the ones who are toxic and rude.

Today, I had an argument with a hater who called me dumb because of my fangirl moment on a post. 😑 And so sometimes, I think to myself. Why is it that I find myself shipping non-canon couples? What is it with me that I find other people to ship than what is already pronounced in the series?

But then again, I realize I'm not only shipping couples just for the heck of it. And just because they're canon, doesn't necessarily obligate me to ship them.

I ship and pair people when I see the romance potential in them, when their dynamics can bring fire to the story, or when they can compliment or align with each other in ways I see fit. It's not just about the lovey dovey stuff for me. It is also the understanding, cooperation, trust, functionality, and compatibility that I can see in them that makes a good and healthy ship for me.

If I see that in a canon couple, then I won't have any problems shipping them. That's all the better. But if not, then it's not necessarily a bad thing.

So to you my fellow shippers of the ships mentioned above, don't lose heart over these toxic people. Your choices and preferences don't necessarily define you. It is our attitude on how we handle our ships that does.

Nobody is perfect. But here's to hoping for a fun and healthy social media experience for everyone ~ ❤️

So I stumbled upon this and...

I almost forgot that young Mikasa always kept Eren in line. Like she always throws him around or punches him whenever he does anything stupid or foolish. Like she gets him back to his senses.

This young girl at the tender age of 9 can be this sensible, rational, and level-headed. And yet the same girl at the age of 19 goes, "What should we do about Eren?"

I know there wouldn't be a story if the rumbling wouldn't happen. But still. She could have bitch-slapped him all the way to Marley if she wanted to.

But Yams said NO. We need the toxic relationship and Stockholm Syndrome to happen here 😑

Um, she’s right. You did say that, Levi.

Seeing Levi getting his ass verbally handed to him by the girl who finally decided to stop putting up with other people’s shit is just so satisfying.

The way he has no answer for her. The way everyone is watching like, oh … this is awks.

The way she holds his gaze, like. I’m not intimidated by you anymore; I know who I am and it’s not a girl that just slots into the roles people find most convenient for them. But it’s not even done in an aggressive way - it’s open and honest and still gentle.

The way he clearly realises she’s right, and he can’t just lash out when he’s under pressure and say shit and expect not to be held accountable for that further down the line.

These two absolutely made one another better in this arc - their character development was my favourite. I’m forever sad that anime onlys don’t get to witness the growth they go through.

And I just want those expressions - her burning determination in the face of adversity; his absolute shock at being held accountable for his at times shitty attitude - to be animated in full colour glory.

The animation/imagery/just generally how they translated these chapters into animation was beautiful,, so here are some of my fave stills/moments & opinions/takes on the imagery,,

reiner’s eye,, that glow was really unsettling & intense,, as if it was symbolising his emotions.

mappa already did a stunning job on making eren’s titan look absolutely terrifying,, but seeing it again in this shot solidified that even more for me,, amazing

then just,,, mappa’s take on armin is just,, breathtaking,, he’s gorgeous,, I found this stare when eren was boarding the ship really captivating,, it’s quite an unnerving stare,, the fact that he doesn’t even speak makes it even more so,,

mikasa’s expression just,, broke me,, she looks so defeated and tired here after levi solidified with his kick that he wasn’t too pleased with eren’s actions,, this expression for me, is mikasa silently acknowledging that there isn’t really a reason to hold levi back from scolding eren. mikasa, who usually devotedly defends eren, sees that she cannot do that, which is something that hasn’t really happened before like in the context of season 4. an unnerving fact,,

then gabi,, I don’t personally remember this part, since I’ve read it a long time ago, but this still is perfect for this dialogue,, she’s gripping her armband, the thing that she wishes more people could become proud of someday, instead of being disgusted or ashamed by it,, “this internment zone is my home!” eerily parallels eren in season 1 when he spoke about how his town was attacked,, so all this,, makes this a beautiful and bittersweet shot,,

the details on this shot?? her eyes? all of those shades of color,, theyre all so detailed,, which I found really captivating.

his expression fucking broke me. even more so the fact that they’re talking about sasha, a dear friend that they share, dying because of all that happened. I don’t know how to word the intensity of this exchange, just that it was a very painful moment, in which jean’s view of eren had visibly shifted. you can see that in his eyes. the loss of someone who’d been his comrade, of someone who jean doesn’t recognise anymore. it hurt to see this play out.

lastly, I’m sad to see this angel go, just seconds ago embracing her friends, only to have to let them go shortly after. I’m going to miss her presence in the show,, she was a strong young woman, standing up for the weak, someone who had the ability to see the light even in the most dire of times & someone who was highly skilled and determined in carrying out what she had to do. rip angel, you’ll be missed dearly 🥺💓

The character development that's coming from a hunter who was pissed before because the meat got lesser as more people occupied their land to a soldier who wants to get their lands back to raise more cattles and just share it with everyone

Yes she is

not just a comfort character but also some characters' comfort person
