Blah blah blah obviously Kotoko's ableism is shown in how she refers to Mikoto/John and Shidou and Haruka but also it's shown very clearly to us that she's not so different from them.

Breaking, their relationship with their work... They're a pair for a reason, is what I'm saying. Both overwork themself to achieve a sense of fulfillment that they notably don't actually get - at least not for long, they share multiple lyrical similarities, the one about breaking being just one.

Others include: the sentiment of dreaming and protecting dreams (All I did was dream, If it damaged someone's dream to the point of stopping it), newborns/babies (Me, the newborn other you, Newly born “HARROW” “HARROW”). We're not even getting into just general themes such as being a saviour. Something to note, Kotoko seemingly shares a lot more with John than she does Mikoto.

Not much here to say - I've already covered my thoughts in that Shidou and Kotoko are very similar before.

As a quick rundown: both have a theme - either subtle or outright - of the ends justifying the means; they both have a general air of I know what's good for you; they both have religious imagery (though, to be fair, this is quite common in Milgram); they both use being someone's saviour as a mechanism to make themselves feel better; they both have their relationship with a child/children as a central part of their character; and they both dehumanise others (last two points actually not inlucded in the original post)

Anyways, Kotoko says she(?) can't be saved, and then says Shidou is doomed due to his mental health struggles. I don't have anything to add.

I'm just waving wildly towards Kotoko's desperate need to be right and approved of and Haruka's desperate need to be looked at and... Approved of! Kotoko mirrors Haruka in quite a few ways (Their respective blood incidents, weak and strong as a prevalent theme, ectect) however I'm tired and know if I try dissect it quickly I'll look insane.

Sorry, you're asking me what I'm thinking about right now? I'm thinking about how Shidou had no one before the U20 match. How he is seen by others as nothing but a violent monster, when the things he want are just simple: To have something that allows him to feel vivid emotions, explosions, to be able to be free and to be understood. How he most likely has no family or friends outside of Blue Lock especially since his parents aren't mentioned in his Egoist Bible, and that he has never played for any sort of football team before. He came to Blue Lock, away from his previous restrictive environment searching for freedom, only for him to be restricted yet again.

But still, he was able to find that freedom he longed for. Through Itoshi Sae, who saved Shidou from the cage that trapped him. Itoshi Sae who helped him achieve the dream of leaving a mark on something, of showing the world who you are. Both of them, saviour and blessed, Jesus and Judas, they connect together like a chemical balance, to make the world not turn away from the two.

Aiku doesn't call them a match made in heaven for no reason, after all.

RIGHT LIKE. i love gay violent carnivorous dudes and his tan partially coming from his morning routine could be something so beautiful if you consider his actions as a form of rebellion against a past of deprivation but then you Remember. you have 299 other athletes who are not gay or violent or carnivorous (as explicitly as shidou—for all the homosexuality and cannibalism in blue lock, none of it is quite explicit as what shidou has going on; him being violent and gay was the basis for pretty big segment of the u20 match), presumably the same race as shidou, and spend an awful lot of their time outside of school playing soccer and you're telling me not one of them is even remotely as dark as him. where did hiori's father's melanin go. is hiori just too reserved for it to show up or something.
