I think the thing I find most frustrating about swd and the fandom’s perception of the fate switching is he is such a victim or narrative circumstance. Because if hx wasn’t as loved as he is, if swd and sqx were lovers instead of brothers, if swd had a more likable personality, etc etc etc no one would say that his actions weren’t justified. Like there is nothing anyone could say to convince me that if Hua Cheng did for Xie Lian what swd did for sqx the entire fanbase wouldn’t call it tragically romantic instead of monstrous.

ooo I’m torn. An Le makes a lot of sense to be there, especially since, in the books, he’s the last descendant of Xianle. I could totally buy Xie Lian going out and taking that child to his court. Or maybe Qi Rong just drops him off on his doorstep. Especially with how badly he wanted revenge on Yong’an in canon. But then for those same reasons I can also see him showing up at court and being a bit of an antagonistic figure to the trio, or at least LQQ. Like that guy who bullied Mu Qing in book 2. Especially since in this environment he’d be able to get away with a lot more

I think, since Fenglian Babygirl is Xie Lian’s little princess, and Feng Xin argued for them to keep LQQ instead of killing him, Mu Qing needs to (probably accidentally) bring in the third member of trio 2.0. idk where he’s finding a child but i believe in him. Maybe he helps someone out as a god, and they end up following him around, without him knowing, eventually ending up in the Ghost palace

Also, this is me being a little biased, but I think Fenglian babygirl needs another babygirl to be friends with. Maybe Ban Yue? She’s not exactly sassy, but Fenglian bby might be sassy enough for everyone. I feel like her latching onto MQ would work, since she wouldn’t have general Hua in this au

If so, peeling skin on your fingers. You know when an extremely annoting tiny bit of skin right above where you nail starts is detaching, and for some reason despite being a very shallow wound it hurts like hell when you pull it off ?

hangnails are the bane of my existance, i always pick at them until they bleed so...

1) something about this being around fingernails makes me think this would drive sqx CRAZY bc im willing to bet he religiously manicures his nails

2) i also think he (like me) picks at them too bc his physical presentation is a massive insecurity of his and hes an anxious lil guy

3) and the idea of him running to Shi Wudu going "GE!!! My finger is bleeding again!!!" and swd begrudgingly (but lovingly) helping him apply salve and bandages to the bleeding parts

Nobody talks about the double meaning of:

Because yeah swd is talking about switching sqx’s fate all those years ago but he’s also talking about the fact that he knows he has just successfully goaded hx into killing him. hx gave swd two choices and swd said fuck that and manipulated hx into choosing the third option that he wanted. Literally the last thing he ever did was change his and sqx’s fate and that is so sexy of him.

Shi Wudu did what he could to keep Shi Qingxuan safe but does Shi Qingxuan see if it was worth it?
