reading black water arc while knowing the ending but none of the details is definitely an experience. it’s slow torture, but i’m still enjoying it!

beefleaf breaks my heart and shi qingxuan makes me wanna cry. also shi wudu gives “rich abusive sleazy brother,” i would hate him too tbh.

i think the coffin bit is coming up soon though.

also hua cheng being like “wanna get married?” and then “wanna live with me?” and also “i haven’t gotten my special someone yet.” the poor guy is trying SO hard. the “try to flirt and play it off as a joke if it’s not taken well” is so real though. and him thinking xie lian was offended about the marriage thing.

i know he’s a massively powerful ghost king but he just wants to be xie lian’s husband and like. yeah if a hot god i had been pining after for 800 years seemed upset by my marriage “joke” i would also become an apologetic boyfailure. i would have to conciously hold myself back from sobbing and groveling at his feet. hua cheng is fox coded but not (just) because he’s clever - it’s because foxes are actually really affectionate and do this cute cry-whiny thing for attention and when they’re happy, and that’s literally hua cheng.
