the 8th / 9th avatar of vishnu is such a brain wrecking question for me personally bc i don’t see the buddha as an avatar at all, but i also strongly hold on to the belief that balarama is an avatar of sheshanaga instead of vishnu

Brahma On Lotus With Sheshashayi Vishnu Vishnu is seen lying in yoga nidra, on the serpent, Sheshanaga, in the cosmic ocean. Sheshanaga (King of all Nagas) is one of the primordial beings of creation. He is said to hold all the planets on his hoods and tirelessly sings the virtues of Vishnu. Brahma emerges from his Vishnu's navel, which creates the universe.

I was thinking about the TPQ series and what I thought is not good.
Roshani Chokshi has given us quite a few spoilers- we'll be seeing more of Aiden's apsara side, the talent show, reincarnated Boo's innocence. She also said she already knew what the last line for Aru Shah was going to be.
A big, big spoiler is the book cover. To me, it looks like Sheshanaga. Maybe it is, I dunno. If it is, then that's some seriously interesting mythology spin off that Rosh is trying to pull off.
The point I want to make is this:
What is Rosh going to with Aru and Aiden? Is she going to kill one of them? This image from one of her ig stories agrees with my point-
Tumblr media
OR, it can also be one of the Potatoes. Love can be sisterly/unromantic too. Maybe by the end one of them dies.
OR, it can also be that Kara dies. This is when we get to see Aru's love for her which we couldn't in the 8 month time skip.
Whatever the case, there is going to be one major character death without any reincarnation.
In an interview with The Half Blood Report, Rosh also said this regarding Aru & Aiden:
"I mean, they are this famous epic reincarnated couple. There's going to be ways in which that's remade and perhaps that doesn't work in quite the way they expect."
Thus sounds like a tragedy. I'm pretty sure we will have one in the last book. Question is, how sad will it be?
She also said:
"The way I expect, there has to be sacrifices. Maybe not everybody makes it out alive...I don't know."
Is she going to kill Aiden? It can't be Aru, I am sure. Something just tells me that Aru won't die because she has to be the one to suffer and grieve. It's because of her unique perspective.
When asked about the d-word in Aiden's prophecy:
"I do think that when you love someone and when you're in a relationship, it goes through periods of life and death in itself which ultimately you want is to be able to change with the person you've chosen to be your life partner. I don't think things like that should ever be easy. I think that if you really can commit to something, or if you can be really honest to yourself about your feelings, it requires the death of something else within you."
Maybe over here, Rosh is talking about the death of Aiden's insecurity. He is obviously scared after seeing how is parents were like. Maybe, he is willing to take a step forward.
"That prophecy, that cost, that consequence.... it means that someone's going to have a choice to make and I don't know if there's going to be a little rise to the challenge."
These are the lines which scare me the most. What choice? What will be the options? What lies in between? These lines haunt me.
Roshani has given us so much to think about. It feels as if she is going to complete this whole, big, messy circle.

Shesha
Tumblr media
Name: Shesha, Sheshanaga, Adishesha, Ananta Shesha
Type: Mythical
Culture of Origin: Hinduism
Description: A massive, multiheaded cobra, who supports the universe on his hoods.
Myth: Shesha was the eldest child of the sage Kashyap and his wife Kadru, the parents of the Naga race. Shesha was disgusted by the cruelty of his brothers, so he left his family to live a life of penance, sustaining himself on only air. This caught the attention of Brahma, who granted Shesha a boon before asking him to support the cosmos on his hoods.
Facts:
Shesha is one of the Nagaraja, or Naga Kings.
Some versions of Shesha’s myth have him as floating on the cosmic ocean as the bed of Vishnu.
He is called Ananta Shesha because he is seen as endless, and will live on after everything is destroyed.

Anantashayana Vishnu, Saranga Village, Odisha The sculpture is 15.4m long and 7m in breadth, and depicts Vishnu reclining on Sheshanaga.
Thought by ILF Expert Surabhi Sharman : Dated to circa 9th century CE and attributed to the Bhauma-Kara kings, who were followers of Vishnu (Vaishnavism), the Anantashayana Vishnu is the largest open-air rock-cut image of Vishnu. Located in Saranga village, on the banks of the river Brahmani, the natural erosion of the sculpture lends it a softness that balances its monumental size.

I love talking about animals and their importance in Hindu Mythology so now have:
Indian Cobra
Ps. King Cobra and Indian Cobra are two different species, do not confuse them as the same.
The Indian Cobra is feared and respected as a deity.
A Hindu god Shiva wears a cobra around his neck as an ornament, that cobra is called 'Vasuki'. The cobra which is coiled around Lord Shiva's neck symbolizes the mastery over 'Maya' or the world illusion.
Adishesha or Sheshanaga, is called as King of all Snakes/Nagas. He is shown to have multiple Cobra Heads. Shesha is said too hold all the planets of the universe on his hoods and sing the glories of God Vishnu. (Lord Rama is called the incarnation of God Vishnu and Shesha was also a incarnation of Lord Rama'a Brother Lakshman) He is also called Ananta Shesha.
Shesha is shown to be a form that floats coiled in a space or Ocean of Milk/Bliss (I will tell you about it later) to form the bed on which God Vishnu lies.
Naga Panchami is a festival in which Snakes and Nagas are worshipped. As part of the festival Nagas or Sculptures or Paintings of Nagas are given a bath with milk and their blessing are sought for the welfare of the family.
I will rant about ocean of bliss/milk, afterwards ok?
oh woahh that’s very cool 😳😳 i’ve heard a few facts about the indian cobra but this is new to me !!

Anantashayana
Form of Vishnu immersed in meditation and lying on the serpent of eternity Ananta, which is located in the Govindaraja temple inside the Chidambaram shrine. This major pilgrimage center of Tamil Nadu is located on the Vellar River, fifty kilometers from Pondicherry. Chidambaram is one of the most sacred places in Shaivism because it is there that Shiva performed the dance of bliss (ananda-tandava) on the body of the dwarf Apasmara (the man without memory). Shiva is therefore worshiped there in the form of Nataraja, the cosmic dancer. The second painting represents an utsavamurti of Vishnu sitting on the serpent Shesha.

He , the Sustainer of the entire Universe, Lord Narayana contemplates ceaselessly on the welfare of His creation, seated on the seat of Sheshanaga, not fierce for Him, but serving Him as an humble bhakta. SRI Vaishnavas always revere these Bhagvata Bhaktas with great devotion. Shesha denotes “remaining”. He seems to remain eternal when all else ceases to exist. This magnificent vahan is also known as Ananta (infinity) among nagas(serpents). It is said that He remains present even after the dissolution of this Universe. Krishna states his importance in Sri Bhagwadgita as “अनन्तश्चास्मि नागानां” Mythology describes him as holding all the planets on its hood and constantly singing the glories of Lord Narayana. May this holy appearance of Lord Godarangamannar pour loads of divinity, peace and contentment on all sincere (at Shri Rangji Mandir , Vrindavan) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cbb94atrXEN/?utm_medium=tumblr

Get to know about the symbolism of Lord Vishnu Appearance
Vishnu, Lord Vishnu, or Vishnu Bhagwan is the Hindu god statue who replaces the equilibrium between good and evil. He is the protector of dharma or moral order and private behavior in Hindu practice. As such, he does as the guardian mediator to conserve order and truth.

Vishnu: Other Names
Lord Vishnu brass idol has 1008 names. According to the Vedas, a set of ancient Hindu religious texts, the human mind can't understand or have words to explain the gods. The closest humans can come to an understanding of the true nature of God is to offer names for the different aspects of who God is, what he did, and what he stands for.
While no human can ever utterly understand the gods, the ritual chanting of Vishnu's names can bring one closer to enlightenment.
Some of Vishnu's 1008 names include:
Vishvam, that which is the     universe
Bhoota-bit, that which nourishes     all
Sakshi, the witnesser
Aprameyah, that which cannot be     identified
Madhava, the husband of Lakshmi
 Image and Incarnation of Vishnu
When Vishnu arrives, Vishnu brass idol is usually depicted as having sky-blue skin, meaning his tremendous, limitless power like the ocean or sky. Often Vishnu is described as standing on a lotus flower, often with his wife Lakshmi nearby.
In other typical images, Vishnu lies on the poisonous serpent, Shesha (also called Sheshanaga). His calm positioning shows his followers how to be controlled in the face of fear and anxiety. This picture has 8 heads of the serpent with Vishnu lying on the snake's coils and holding his wife Lakshmi in his hand.
Tumblr media
The Four Arms of Vishnu
He has four arms, two in front expressing his behavior in the human world and two in the back for his relation to the spiritual domain. His hands hold four of his most fundamental symbols in many depictions: the conch, the chakra or discus, the club, and the lotus flower.
Vishnu and Avatars
In Hindu belief, lord Vishnu statue has come to earth in numerous incarnations to rebuild the world's stability between good and evil and protect the dharma. Ten of these incarnations are seen as the most mattering incarnations and are collectively comprehended as the Dashavatara. Each embodiment has an avatar or physical.
Lord Vishnu's Wife
Known as Lakshmi, Vishnu's wife is the goddess of fortune and wealth, beauty, domesticity. Material and spiritual riches. She took her incarnations and progressed with him in each of his incarnations. Two of Lakshmi's avatars are Sita (wife of Rama) and Rukmini (rise of Krishna). They live on Mount Meru in Vaikuntha city.
