Aru and Aiden probably sit and geek out on stupid old bad cgi movies, almost always ending up with one of this laughing so hard water comes out their nose

Aiden suffered the wrath of the kitchen boss Brynne to learn how to cook, so he can cook Aru things she likes. She teases him so much about it.

Aru's the kind of person to like, very awkwardly kiss Aiden when he's yapping about some documentary or the other and both of them will just kind of sit there, brains trying to catch up

this like continues even after a while into their relationship. because awkward teenage relationships are the best.

Aiden has a secret stash of stupid photos of aru, and she knows about this (so its not very secret) but he has a secret SECERT stash of pictures where he thinks she looks pretty, or she's doing something nice. (this stash is actually HUGE)

His music taste is literally Aru's music taste, and when on the metro to go get some chaat or something, they'll share earphones and listen to music.

Aru INSISTS on painting his nails black to """complete the emo look"" and now its a tradition to see the both of them huddled in her room every few weeks because his nail paint chipped or something.

Aru doodles on his arms sometimes and he ""scolds"" her for it, but secretly he loves it sm

ok I think the series is HILARIOUS and it’s got me thinking about it for SOOO LONG ( I think a lot ab the series I like most, so this is a sign I loved it)

And aru’s povs make it so depressing and funny at the same time and it’s sooo obvious (to me) that she had a crush on aiden since like, FOREVER and it’s really realistic how she and the others fuck up ALL THE TIME

Idk who my fav character would be but aru is such a vibe like yes be a potato sweetie

Im glad brynne didn’t get a special someone cuz to me she doesn’t need someone because she’d say something like “I’m a whole person I don’t need my ‘other half’ “

THE PLOT TWIST ABOUT ARU’S FAMILY GOT ME SO SHOCKED??? I WAS NOT expecting aru and Kara to be sisters because of their mother???? But the whole thing was just so well thought it’s amazing

This is kinda out of context but I think there’ll be another series??? Because they didn’t EXACTLY say “oh and life went on as a potato” they said there might be new quests? And I hope if said quests happen they get to meet Kara again 🥺 i know I kinda didn’t really trust her but now she lives in my heart forever with the other potatoes 🫶🏻🫶🏻

But if said second series happens I hope it’s just that and not the author just fucking up the (awesome) character development like I felt like rr did with some of his new series (hoo for example kinda screwed up Percy’s character) and that she actually keeps the characters the way they are (or change the throughout the story, not randomly)

I’m also thinking about reading other books from roshani because I’ve seen aru shah fans saying stuff might be connected? I love that idea and I kinda want to see if it’s true

Anyway, I HOPE WE GET TO SEE MORE ARUDEN AND MORE BRYNNE (she’s my silly) AND MORE EVERYONE ESPECIALLY KARA BECAUSE SHES KINDA IN A GRAY ZONE BETWEEN GOOD AND BAD AND I EAT THAT SHIT UP SOOO MUCH IN BOOKS

Imagine....

....an AU where Aru never lit the lamp, and subsequently never learned about the Otherworld and who she really is

I had to write down the idea and it somehow evolved into.... this

In this AU our lovely heroine is around 14-15, and living life as a loner, because after she refused to light the lamp that fateful day, she got labeled a liar and no one wanted to hang out with her

Her mom is also away on business trips, more so than ever because she’s getting more and more desperate to find the artifact that will help her keep both her daughter and her husband

So now she’s kind of like a jaded, cynical version of herself- she avoids attention like it’s one of those rats-with-wings (pigeons) and has loads of trust and family issues because hero(in)es with angst are close to my heart it’s only expected with her childhood and upbringing

Another thing worth mentioning: because her mother didn’t tell her anything about the Otherworld, she becomes the only Pandava unaware of who they really are (meaning all the rest have been claimed and instated as one of the heroes)

So because the Sleeper was never released, he can’t be the villain, and this leaves the role open for someone I wish we’d seen more of- Takshaka (I kinda hate him, but I feel like his arc, especially his hate of Arjuna and Indra in particular, is really interesting and something that could’ve been expanded on more in the books)
