Haha this is going to be so embarrassing because I don't currently have that many WIPs. And as most would know, my writing "style" is very... straightforward so there's not a lot of fancy prose or turns of phrases. So I can only hope this doesn't further worsen anyone's impression of me as a writer :') These are certainly nothing worth of note compared to Sona's or the other people being tagged.

Kim Dokja lets himself bleed on the cold pavement. He does not bother to shield himself as they kick his still lying body and pull at his grease covered hair. They usually let him off more easily when he's like this, he convinces himself – defenseless and vulnerable and never fighting back. Not that he has ever fought back before, but to them shielding himself is considered an offensive approach rather than a defensive one, and they'd be all the more pleased to beat him to a pulp. Kim Dokja would rather this end quickly, thank you very much.

for a pattern, I feel like I have a big tendency to... hmm, dump people headfirst into the situation, either through dialogue or narration that describes the focus of the story? if the hook isn't line 1 of the story it's line 2 or MAXIMUM line 3. else I don't publish sjfnmdmf I like to let my readers know what to expect

as for favorites, I've technically got two— one pair and one standalone. the pair is 13. yesterday will be kinder and 8. in all of the lives we are, whose first chapters were specifically written to be direct parallels of the same scene from different POVs! was very satisfied when I managed to shoehorn a parallel intro in there heehehehee... the standalone is 4. the glitter of our iron crowns, just because it's such a Grand and Terrible opening line, and then it immediately revolves into like, stupid rambling and nitpicking and childish shenanigans, then IMMEDIATELY RAMPS BACK UP INTO BLOOD AND MURDER. best kind of tension curve, in my opinion

F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

“What were you going to say?”

“You won’t like it.”

“I’m pretty sure you owe me,” she says, tapping her jaw. “Say it. Word for word, exactly what you were going to sling at me in the heat of the moment.”

Han Sooyoung is successfully insufferable; it’s obvious in how Yoo Sangah’s eyes narrow. She finally looks up, staring Han Sooyoung down, and says, “No wonder Dokja-ssi calls you a plagiarist. You’ve even stolen all his stupid mistakes.”

This fic left me agonized for months, but I’m really satisfied with how it came out, especially this bit—it’s basically the first scene I wrote, though I rewrote and restructured it. so many times. At first it started as an actual heat-of-the-moment insult, but that didn’t feel right; the tension gets to a weird place if there’s a pause between the Emotional Outburst and the reaction to it. Plus, the pause needs to come after the punch—that’s where the scene shifts—but ysa’s Targeted Call Out is a bit too long and detailed; if that’s something said in the heat of the moment, that’s a conversation ender, not something up for further discussion. So, 1) it can’t be part of the turning point meaning it has to be afterwards, 2) hsy needs to be able to react to it immediately, and 3) ysa shouldn’t be overwhelmed with emotion while talking about it.

I think it works well like this, with hsy actively pushing to hear these words so they can be said more intentionally. I also really like the extremely weird atmosphere of… pov your crush punches you out, apologizes, tries to leave, then you beg her to stay and call you the fuck out. also she makes coffee and you both watch as she pours chili oil into your cup. good job me!

So, a few things have happened since this post started making the rounds(something im very thankful for) that I'd like to address:

User @shesgayfolks has made an incredibly helpful addition pointing out that MSF has donation-matching periods in which sponsoring organizations will match any donations emitted to MSF, making donations twice as effective. These donation matching events are subject to the country you're donating from. From what I've gathered they're fairly common in the US, but they may not be as frequent if available at all in other countries (In my time donating to msf from Argentina i dont remember a single instance of donation matching happening) Before waiting for a donation matching instance, I'd recommend checking the frequency of these events in your country.

User @wideblueskies identified themself in the comments section of this post as a former member of MSF who vouches for the humanitarian work of the organization and is open to recieve questions related to it.

Many people have decided to co-opt this post to argue against the legitimacy of gazan fundraisers and the vetting processes being ran by users of this platform. The objective of this post was to offer an alternative for those who are hesitant on this subject, however, I don't feel comfortable having this post attached to this sort of discourse. I personally have donated to fundraisers that are on @/el-shab-hussein and @/nabulsi's spreadsheet on occasions, and intend on continuing to do so to the best of my ability, unless i see something off about it, but i think everyone's free to make their own assessment on the risks and the proof delivered and make a personal choice.

I know I've said this a hundred times but if you're worried about palestinian fundraisers being scams at least consider donating to MSF. It's a highly reputable organization which has broken its long-standing neutrality to denounce Israel in front of the UN. Here's all the aid MSF is providing to Gazans (documentation available in multiple languages).

2. How do you spend your time when it comes to fanfiction? Are you primarily a fic reader, writer, or a perfect 50/50 split of both?

I have no idea how to quantify this... just by the sheer amount of what I read I guess I'd say primarily a reader. but it also takes me a really long time to write (sometimes). maybe 75-25 split?

19. Do you edit your fics after you write them, or do you prefer to just hit post and run (because it’s someone else’s problem now)?

I have in fact edited fics years after posting them because I noticed a typo. the thing is I have a total wordcount at a multiple of 5 so I need to make sure it stays that way by adding/cutting the right amount of words.

31. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?

Yusuke and Lance, my forever guys who I probably won't ever write again (alas). and not really? I appreciate folks who read my work and take the time to interpret it but writing for me is a frenzy of inspiration at 3am so there's not really room to take into account the preferences of others (lol)

G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

sometimes I’ll write out the basic draft of events during the whole fic and go back and fill them out somewhat in order, somewhat out of order. usually out of order. thinking about the latest fics I wrote... I’m p sure for dok/hyuk & sang/soo 2 I didn’t write the first lines until I was halfway through all the other scenes wait hang on I think I posted a screencap of when it was still in notes okay it took me a while but I actually hunted down the original tweets here they are

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

ok so writing-wise... this doesn’t quite fit the definition of ‘guilty pleasure’ but I do love writing subtext and pre-relationship and writing around confessions and defined relationships and the guilty part comes in with me being like ‘wait a second I should confirm this as explicitly romo instead of technically leaving it open-ended...’ so sometimes I try to be more intentional about that. I tend to find it really awkward to have characters refer to each other as boyfriend or girlfriend specifically because like.... I think with the echoic memory unless the character says boyfriend/girlfriend, or is specifically the character archetype to have a casual vocabulary and exist in modern settings, I find it hard to fit those words in. like ‘we’re dating’ is natural enough to write ‘she’s my girlfriend’ tends to give me pause with what I write for nowadays (xianxia ocs, characters who might physically be in their 30s but have technically experienced several decades or lifetimes outside the timestream, etc). this answer got away from me

“Hey,” Han Sooyoung says, lounging on the couch. From the armchair beside her, Yoo Sangah looks up from her book (no doubt something pretentious and insufferable). “You’ve never asked why I can’t stand you.”

“I never did,” Yoo Sangah confirms, and continues not to.

“You read me too well.”

It’s annoying, how apparently transparent she can be, and yet it doesn’t seem to chip away at that unshakable faith Yoo Sangah has. What are the implications, then?

If she were as flawless as everyone thought, she probably wouldn’t be able to handle understanding Han Sooyoung as well as she does. The only other alternative would be that she understands and still thinks—still believes that…

“I think,” Yoo Sangah says, “knowing you makes me want to be a better person.”

Han Sooyoung gapes, almost losing her lemon drop in the process. After a moment, she lets out a pissed-off laugh. “That’s the worst thing you’ve ever said to me.”
