OKAY I'm gonna write down only the ones I actually published, because I did write more, but like hides my face u know. in order of publishing date, with first few lines chosen when the first line alone was like a word or two long:

if my grief is violent enough (TCF): “This is ridiculous,” Cale exclaims. “What the fuck, why did you never tell me about this!”

interlude: the second hand (TCF): Jewel was Deruth’s first wife and first love.

sounds heard in the night (TCF): Deruth is the first to wake up, and he does it with a sick feeling in his throat.

the glitter of our iron crowns (S-CLASS): The end of the world starts with a book.

feels like home (TCF): Dice may only be on her first day of actually entering a noble family member’s room, but that doesn’t mean the rumours haven’t long since reached her, even as deep in the hidden corners of the Henituse estate as she’s been for the past weeks.

paper and porcelain (TCF): Basen hears Cale long before he sees him, an occurrence that he strongly wishes was less common.

the sound of music (TCF): “Bass.” / “Lily.” / “Why can’t I ring the bells?”

in all of the lives we are (S-CLASS): The first thing Yoohyun notices about the man on the floor is that he looks exactly like hyung.

midnight musings (S-CLASS): Yoojin doesn’t get insomnia, but there are nights he just kind of— knows exactly what’s coming for him once he closes his eyes.

i don't think this is what pillow talk means (S-CLASS): “Yoojin-ah…?” / Yoojin twitches. “Hey,” he murmurs. “Why’re you awake?”

steady (S-CLASS): Yoohyun’s hyung is a steady person.

till this life to the next (S-CLASS): Things Sung Hyunjae has said to Han Yoojin, part 1:

yesterday will be kinder (S-CLASS): The first thing Yoojin sees when he opens his eyes is his living room ceiling.

for a pattern, I feel like I have a big tendency to... hmm, dump people headfirst into the situation, either through dialogue or narration that describes the focus of the story? if the hook isn't line 1 of the story it's line 2 or MAXIMUM line 3. else I don't publish sjfnmdmf I like to let my readers know what to expect

as for favorites, I've technically got two— one pair and one standalone. the pair is 13. yesterday will be kinder and 8. in all of the lives we are, whose first chapters were specifically written to be direct parallels of the same scene from different POVs! was very satisfied when I managed to shoehorn a parallel intro in there heehehehee... the standalone is 4. the glitter of our iron crowns, just because it's such a Grand and Terrible opening line, and then it immediately revolves into like, stupid rambling and nitpicking and childish shenanigans, then IMMEDIATELY RAMPS BACK UP INTO BLOOD AND MURDER. best kind of tension curve, in my opinion
