I was rewatching mouthwashing, and I ended up thinking of the different reactions that Curly and Jimmy had in doing their tasks. How during the scene of Anya evaluating Jimmy and showing dread towards the idea of doing his evaluation, Curly was the one that offered to take it off her hands. He had no issue with adding more to his plate, because he knew - or well, thought, he knew that Jimmy wasn't going to "bullshit" with him since he's known him for a long time. When Anya hands Curly a note from Swansea, Curly goes to check out what the issue is and he takes care of it without a complaint, the only "complaint" he has is how this incident could have damaged the pods. Which is reasonable, those pods are their only way to be saved if anything tragic happens on the ship. However, in comparison to Jimmy being asked to do things, he's passive-aggressive about it. When Anya asks Jimmy if he could help her out with Curly's painkillers, he tells her that people should be worth their titles, specifically using her title as a nurse when she asked him for help and then when she says forget it, since he made her feel insecure, he still goes "Oh no, I'LL take care of it" as if he was doing a chore, a favor for her. Then, there's that part where he blows up at her for things that she didn't even ask him to do - more so the others asked him about it, like the code scanner, him deciding he needed to find the axe for the foam, and then, there's the medicine part (which when she does ask, and she reconsiders - going to do it herself, he takes that away from her). Jimmy complains about the tasks he has to do and he treats it like a big issue, a "woes me" that he has to do this and that - wanting the praise of the capital without actually doing any work. While Curly doesn't complain about it, in fact, he even mentions that he's aware of how well he is doing at his job as a Captain during that cockpit scene with him and Jimmy. If Jimmy only had to do a small amount of tasks to get irritated and annoyed at being captain, while Curly didn't which I feel like encapsulates their personalities. Curly understands what he's doing is a job, it's a responsibility, why would he complain at any point for doing what he's suppose too? Why would he be upset at people asking him to do tasks? While Jimmy on the other hand, isn't used to it at all and it's different to what he's had before and he's realizing that he doesn't actually like doing the work he has too. I just wanted to ramble about it even if it seemed kind of obvious xd

It’s obvious but it is a thing people miss or understate when trying to find parallels in Curly’s and Jimmy’s relationship/personalities.

Like the way people portray it as neither taking responsibility when it is almost split down the middle of Curly taking responsibilities and faults that shouldn’t be his and making himself unequipped to handle the ones that are while Jimmy refuses to handle the responsibilities he has because he wasn’t expecting the work that comes with them.

Not a lot to say but people forget that another thing the game comments on is prioritization of issues and responsibilities and how the guys fail at it in one way or another in the situation.

#this talk of responsibility is more so about me be very annoyed with people acting like Swansea was the most responsible man on that ship #when he immediately takes a break after his intern in stuck in the foam starts drinking the moment he find out the mouthwash is alcoholic #doesn’t tell anyone about the cryopod or explain himself and did nothing about Jimmy either until it was too late #like I’m sorry but he is also the last guy I’d like to hear about responsibility from cause he did just as bad as Curly post crash like he #wasn’t even nice to Anya outside the one conversation we see he was actually just as rude to her as he was Daisuke when they cracked open #the crates and dismissive before hand like I’m getting more mad at the glorification of one guy vs the woman whose doing the most 4 herself #like I get his speech and the recognition of his faults but he still had them and they still were his downfall in the end and part of the #reason Daisuke listened to Jimmy and it’s not his fault that happened but it’s the same way it’s not Curly’s fault Jimmy is like that #but I digress cause people don’t exactly like when we actually discuss the responsibilities the crew mates should’ve and shouldn’t have had #or what they actually did to help cause idk Anya likely would not feel supported by any of them after the fact if they survived like girl #only ever got attention for her problems when they were literally at the worst that’s not helping or taking responsibility like she had to #kill herself to feel some sort of relief also the irony about Curly’s concern about killing herself only #for it to get to the point she actually did because there was no safety for her they all failed her #Swansea would’ve just told her to tell the captain and he’d watch Jimmy and ultimately it would play out the same cause he’s tries to not #get to involved cause he’s old and been through enough already and she’d feel just as unheard like he was closer to Daisuke #and not once after the crash did he really try to steer him away from liking Jimmy which again he points out himself #like I love Swansea and Daisuke but they were just as complacent in Anya’s suffering and Jimmy’s behavior even if they knew less that should #not make them more viable options or it more excusable like crazy conclusions to comes to ig on my part but yall hate #the idea that maybe a major point is that Anya was alone as a woman and overlooked #mouthwashing #ask #mouthwashing game #anon #curly mouthwashing #jimmy mouthwashing

I honestly get a little annoyed that people will act like Penelope wouldn't be in the Fields of Punishment alongside Odysseus :P

Because she'd either go with him or literally be there because of her own things. I mean...She's not that nice either. They're literally "likeminded", all the war crimes he would tell her, she'd be thinking "Oh!!! Good thinking!!!" The only thing is, she just didn't GET to do those war crimes because she wasn't in the war. She would scold him for the stupid things he did acting like she's never done the same or wouldn't do the same.

Also as if she wouldn't also tell Polyphemus her name? Maybe not exactly, but she'd do something JUST as prideful/dumb eventually. BECAUSE THEY'RE SIMILAR. SAME MIND!!!

Lumity is very cute but it seems like the kind of ship that would have a fandom so toxic it'd make you dislike the ship in time and I think that's sad.

having a lot of thoughts about eating disorders + how some of us end up developing chronic illnesses directly because of the physical effects of our eating disorders and how Cruel doctors can be about that and just trying to untangle so much shame and blame from that experience rn

#personal #vent #eating disorder tw #disability #idk. i don't quite have the words for this right now but #had another meeting with my doctor where they said yeah its your fault that you are now physically disabled for life #(literally i was chronically ill and physically disabled before i even developed an eating disorder because of CAH and comorbidities but #(they love to ignore that !)#which is like. i do not tie any morality to health and it should just be #a completely neutral statement. that my eating disorder caused other physical complications #they said i'm going to have orthostatic problems the rest of my life.#'since your gastroparesis was caused by your eating disorder that means there is no point in treating it'#which is so funny bc literally every time i see her my dietitan wants me to get a feeding tube! lmfao!!!!#i am actually doing pretty well in recovery in terms of meeting my energy needs through food. but i stopped being able to orally supplement #so my dietitan wants a tube for ARFID nutrient reasons. supplemental nutrition etc etc. and she thinks it will help gastroparesis symptoms #they also think i have osteoporosis and want to test me for that #when i had to use forearm crutches/ wheelchair because of physical ed complications doctors were SO fucking rude even though they were #the ones PRESCRIBING IT!!! like!!! you all are the ones telling me i HAVE to do this!#idk i also have a friend with permanent brain damage. from seizures in the refeeding process #and her doctors are so fucking rude to her all the time.#it makes me so mad

head in my hands im trying to come up w prinzhes headcanons but i literally cannot because prinz is like. a pink and less tragic and less headache-inducing version of tesilid.

they're both very gentlemanly, they both can fight, if someone is unfair to them they're more likely to smile and try to smooth it over than to fight back. if hestio is going to find prinz attractive then he'd have found tesilid attractive too, but if he isn't nursing a massive crush on tesilid by the time he meets prinz then it means that tesilid gave him so much blood pressure problems that they're no longer his type.

#m #tekken #i like alisa more than leo asuka and xiaoyu but i think all four + lili have a great relationship dynamic #like they could all be a group of besties who do sleepovers and kick ass togetherand get into adventures!! but alas bandai namco hates fun #katarina is SO hot but i need her personality to be shown a little bit more for her to become a fav of mine #i like miguel and bob mostly bcs of the online tekken comic but once again im asking for more content of them #also i think their opposite personalities match very well and they could be good frienemies #imagine that miguel wants to beat people up for no reason but bob keeps stopping him and he's just extra angry all the time #also. miguel showing bob spanish food. eating paella together........ bandai namco PLEASE put them together more often #i dont even need to defend that heihachi and lee are the funniest characters in the franchise you know im right #i hated lucky chloe bcs she looked like weeb bait but then i saw her episode...... genuinely super funny that she's secretly an asshole #AND extra funny that Eddy has to deal with her in t7. honestly i'd love to see eddy work for her and try he kawaii lifestyle #all the while lucky chloe is mega rude and bad mouthed in the behind the scenes #also they could have older bro and younger sis energy... or the reverse bcs we dont know how old is she. actually she should be older #wouldnt it be hilarious if she was like 35 or something #i like the characters in the orange tier mostly because of their designs #julia and lidia are both very cute! and master raven very hot #claudio kazumi leroy and hwoarang have cool designs and marshal law and the kings have funny backstories #i like kazuya when there are family shenanigans otherwise i dont care much about him #the williams' designs are very boring but i like how much they despise each other #the bears are funny too #everyone else.......... i legit dont care

karen is MY special white woman. my problematic fave. because i understand why she sucks. i think in order to be allowed to be a karen fan you have to actually understand why she sucks. if you don't understand why she sucks then you're a bad karen fan i think.

#i think one of fhe reasons i dont like many of her fans and what made me feel :| about liking her at first is her many like.#unconditional supporters i think. and i get it. a lot of it comes from how misogynistic ppl are about her. but like. she also sucks mega bad #this is also mostly show fans. not many ppl are talking about her in a comic context. but it's like.#there is a difference from defending her from the very real misogyny against her VS defending her every move #the same way there is a big difference between critiquing her and analyzing her as a character vs straight up misogynist hate #but it's like. oughhhhh not enough of you get her. to be fair despite my jokes i know i cant claim to mega understand her either #but i think i give a lot more thought than some others do about her.#also all her wrongs are honest to god equivalent to many other male characters in this series in terms of ''''Bad Person''''.#but we get more of a focus on it bc she is the love interest.#but like. foggy is also deeply ableist to matt too. and rude as a friend to him for a long time.#and matt sucks so bad himself. and is /deeply/ misogynist for a long time in comics.#they all have their faults and when i think about that im like it really is no sin to like her. bc many other characters in terms of the #things people very validly crit about her. not many others of this cast are better!#and it's fine. bc it's who they are as people in their story. bc this is how real life often is and of course they will not hold the same #beliefs as you the real person who can often know better than them. due to also living in a very different time period from their creations #+ where most of these runs take place.#OKAY IM DONE TLDR I like karen! she sucks! but so does everyone else in this series! so i have let myself learn it is fine #but also. ohhhhh my beef with show karen. very different from my beef with comics karen. i have a lot of very specific beef with show karen #but also. a lot of that comes less from her as a character (MAJORITY OF THE TIME. DEFINITELY TIMES WHERE IT IS OF HER OWN AS A CHARACTER BUT #STILL IMPACTED BY) THE. HM. ATTITUDES OF THAT WRITING ROOM. THE VERY PISS POOR RACIST ATTITUDES OF THAT WRITING ROOM.#so trust me. trust me i doooooo understand the hate. but there is still a hefty majority of misogyny fueled hate about her instead of her #actual character flaws and the beliefs she has and holds and acts on.#but oh a karen lover who hates elektra in show well it makes me wish that blond woman would get laser shot.#but that is besides the point. point is i love comics karen and i think it's interesting to analyze and view her #my romance comic leading lady trapped in a cape comic<\3 #static.soundz

all the romancable DAO companions really just start falling for the warden if you're simply nice to them, huh

#i am trying really hard to keep them at arms length because I haven't decided between leliana and zevran #yet somehow I accidentally started a romance with alistair which I didn't even notice until he pulled out the rose #i am convinced it started because my warden told him she likes him for himself not his blood #which is a perfectly normal thing to say given that's a thing he seems insecure about and she genuinely likes him *but not as love interest #at least that's where I needed to reload to because I felt too bad to shoot him down lmao #also it would be mildly weird because in my mind that warden sees alistair more as a sibling she really wants to give a pep talk to #and square up with anyone that's rude to him #anyway #my point stands because I have to make an active effort with leliana to not lead her on #and to be fair I'm not trying that hard to stop with with zevran but also his approval is so easy to get up as well #morrigan might break that pattern #i wouldnt know because for some reason she's straight #and I made a female warden because my inky is a dude and I can't have everyone powerful be a dude yk as much as I love cas
