have you seen season 2 of tsitp? bruh the way s2 of tsitp has made me switch sides and become team jeremiah is crazy 😭. i don't get why they made him different from the books if they're likely gonna keep the same endgame. i just hope they don't character assasinate him to support their endgame.

i just finished watching it and YES IKR!? at this point, i don't even have the energy to be team jeremiah or team conrad because the writers have confused the shit out of me.

are they going to pull another never have i ever here? one season ending up with one love interest, other season with other. i loved the acting this season. it was BRILLIANT. but the plot? unpopular opinion (i think) but staylor and laurel were carrying this season and i had no interest in the main love triangle.

sussanah was the one guiding force between all of them and it felt sad at her death. however, conrad acting like a jerk at the prom was so messed up. i don't blame him for feeling that way, but you can't excuse your actions towards everyone else always, can you?

jeremiah's character was degraded though! like- his entire personality became "belly this belly that" which was so not supposed to be the case! i'm not expecting daisies and sunshines but his trauma over losing his mother was barely explored in his narrative episode? it was all about his love for belly and as real as that might've been, it felt so coerced.

one thing i liked was belly's (sort of) development. last season, she was confused about her feelings but in this one she felt settled. she was heartbroken over conrad, reignited her feelings for jere and we saw it. she grew and evolved from her previous shenanigans.

i just hope they don't character assassinate him to support their endgame.

it is too soon to make any assumptions yet, but i think they're going to a full circle. and that might be appealing, given they make it believable and sound. and like you said, don't twist and bend jeremiah.

Honestly let's take a moment to think about how much it would have sucked for Shauna being not only pregnant as a teen in that situation but also her best friend dying and losing any sort of comfort she had from that relationship on top of everything else. Like I can close my eyes and imagine Jackie helping her or snuggling up to her or giving her a massage or whatever cause she was that kind of friend. And now that's gone.

I completely understand why she would go into that shed to talk to her and Tai is fooling herself if she thinks she'd be any better if Van really did die when she got mauled to death.

Would it be bad if I just skipped all these filler scenes and just watched the bits that I cared about? This is honestly starting to resemble pretty little liars in a bad way with all the random filler comphet relationships. Like I had to wait through so many Ezra and Aria scenes just to get to the good stuff (Paige and Emily) and it feels like this show is kind of turning into the same thing at this point.

Every interesting scene is intercut with random shit of straight people screwing or married couples fighting and crap like that. We get like one gay scene but we have to sit through 45 minutes of other crap to get to it and it's not fair.

I don't hate any of these characters, they're just spreading the runtime time too thin between too many characters. Cut Callie out completely. Take out a chunk of Shauna and Jeff's stuff, they haven't really been interesting since Adam's death. Even Misty is suffering due to her forced collaboration with that shitty stalker of hers. Nat and Lottie and Tai and Van is where the present day story is at but their scenes are moving along at a snail's pace because they just spend way too much time trying to showcase other characters. Especially when things are really picking up in these other stories. I'm getting whiplash with the way the focus is constantly changing between all these groups of characters.

And I know other shows do it too (Game of thrones, bold and the beautiful, etc) but it's still really frustrating that it's happening here.

At least we're learning a bit about the cards. Though we already heard about them, we never really saw how they used them to divide tasks.

Crystal and Misty are bonding though and it's cute but it's making me worry that Crystal is going to get killed off soon. They tend to not focus on anybody but the mains and the characters that get killed off and since Crystal only really started cropping up recently I feel it would be naive to assume they were just showing more of the other yellowjackets out of the goodness of their hearts and not just to make us sad when they eventually killed them off.

One thing I did not anticipate is how much I would end up loving these characters...specifically the yellowjacket girls, and even more specifically the lesbians (Shauna, Nat, Van, Misty, and Taissa). I am just so glad all my babies are all alive 😌 and now Van and Taissa can get back together and live happily ever after 🥰

Nothing against Simone but she doesn't get Tai like Van does. And while divorcing would be hard I think it's safe to say their marriage is beyond saving at this point. Not only did they lose love and trust but when your partner actively fears you then you NEED to step away.

Anyway Crystal and Misty are cute -though some of those stories they're sharing feel like something they should be unpacking with a psychiatrist and not a friend- but I am really worried about Crystal...wait, Kristen, apparently.

Honestly the vibe I'm getting is they're all punishing themselves. Nat through drugs, Shauna through sticking it out with Jeff because she feels like she HAS to make it worth basically killing Jackie, Misty through living a life of Loveless was and anonymity where she just cares for other people who would never care about her and Tai and Van by giving up the one thing that kept them while and sane; each other.

YESSS KARASU FIRST EP ego’s def going to announce the top six so we’ll get tabieitaken and nagi (and rin + shidou but who gaf abt them) although i wouldn’t be surprised if the first ep starts off with a flashback of reo and kunigami losing to shidou since that game is what kinda builds the hype for shidou and sets him up to be more “villainous” than even karasu and otoya (who are the third selection antagonists) as well as setting him apart from the rest of the bllkers which foreshadows him going to the u20s

Finally got access to my friend’s hulu to watch DMANE bc the other site just WON’T run properly and I’m sick of it. So finally I’ll be able to watch these last 2 eps so I can finally see if I’ll enjoy the nationals dances.

damn it’s an angst fest in this tag 😭😭 i completely get it, but like. yknow. it’s kinda sad to come into this tag and see negativity/doubt/people giving up. i don’t mean to be rude in any way, i just wish we’d focus on positives and remember all the things that have been built up/hinted at/given to us.

ive seen a couple people mention the fact that if the duffers forgot will’s birthday, they may have forgotten the details of “the first day that we met”, via mike’s speech to a possessed will in s2 since those were mentioned around the same time.

im gonna say no way.

this season is entirely focused on the past. beginnings.

if will does (and he will) get vecna’d, it would be almost anticlimactic if it wasn’t brought up.

when el stopped One originally, she overpowered him not with an angry memory, but with a memory of her mother saying “I love you.”

it was a bittersweet memory. a warm memory with sad connotations. a happy memory that, when looking back on, makes you sad and angry even if the memory itself isn’t dark.

(It is also, technically, the first day her and her mother met.)

im going into a bit of speculation here, so take the following with a grain of salt, but i have a feeling we may see a slight falling out between mike and will in volume 2. it may not be a fight like season 3, or even anything verbal, but there may be an obvious distance between them. will knows mike is trying to get back to el while mike is juggling feelings he doesn’t understand. it creates tension.

will might take it personally. he will take it personally; he just won’t voice it. that’s how he is. he’s been led to believe (by his father and by bullies) that he’s not worth the trouble. so if he gets vecna’d, and we see flashbacks of his past, it almost has to include the first day that mike and will met. he’d be sad at the thought of mike pulling away from him (cough cough hopper’s letter cough cough) and reminisce about their past.

and even if none of that happens, like mike and will falling out a little, it still feels like that memory has to happen, yknow? their whole thing is about not losing each other. so why wouldn’t you look into the first day they connected?

does this make sense? that’s at least my two cents for the “first day we met” aspect.

for the birthday… although disappointing, i may give them a bit of leeway here. in their defense, i am also shit at remembering birthdays.

but… i don’t know. they worked on st4 for 2+ years… I find it hard to believe no one on the team remembered the detail, especially a story editor whose job is literally keeping track of that stuff. it sits weird with me, but mistakes do happen. even the most meticulous writers will miss their own details. it happens, and im not gonna hold it against them. it’s entirely possible that will’s birthday was genuinely not a significant part of this season’s story. we did kinda hype it up a lot despite, yknow, not being writers of the show and simply guessing.

agh. i guess what im trying to say overall here is to not be angry if we’re wrong. we’re not bound to get everything, but we’ve already been given a lot. i think the “the first day that we met” flashback is inevitable, but the birthday mention is up in the air. (…haha)

so let’s see what happens in a month, shall we?
