Man alright I’ve deduced it and here’s who absolutely did and didn’t tell Kaidan about Shepard and Garrus

Garrus- If Kaidan wasn’t on speaking terms with Shepard for joining Cerberus, why would he actively reach out to talk to Garrus ? And if Garrus was too busy to shoot Shepard a “U good” message to his girl Kaidan was definitely the last one on his mind.

Liara- Literally what reason would she have ? I’d assume she was too busy with shadow broker shit and her studying the prothean artifact unless she just did it to be mean because Geena originally rejected Liara for Kaidan and then moved onto Garrus like Kaidan was nothing but in ME3 she still assumes that she still has a thing for Kaidan but I don’t think it was her unless she wanted to be a bitch even though I don’t know how she’d know about Shepard and Garrus in the first place since she was too busy playing with her shiny new shadow broker toys.

Tali- Again, if he wasn’t on speaking terms with Shepard he wouldn’t be on speaking terms with her now matter how much she claims to hate Cerberus. If he didn’t believe his girlfriend why would he believe tali ? Also I can’t see them talking outside of a work basis anyways.

James- He didn’t even know that Kaidan knew Shepard so I doubt he knows their romantic history and he just freshly met Garrus while Kaidan was still comatose in the hospital and depending on how you play Garrus and Shepard might not even rekindle their romance until after visiting Kaidan or whatever. I don’t know, I know it wasn’t this idiot.

EDI- She’s way too smart for that and I can’t understand any scenario where she’d drop the bomb on Kaidan on their mission to mars since that’s the only time they interacted until he officially comes back but that’s way after he already confronted Shepard

Now let me tell you who it could have been:

Dr Chakwas- She cares about Kaidan deeply and even though she did join up with Cerberus she wasn’t officially part of them. She took a leave of absence from her actual job because the Cerberus thing was just a “temporary gig and Shepard needed her” and I can see her visiting him in the hospital and telling him that she knows Shepard and Kaidan had a thing but to not get his hopes up. She might have let it slip so that Kaidan doesn’t find out that hard way and gets hurt.

Joker- Even though he joined up with Cerberus too he technically started “ working” under the alliance again and since EDI only “obeyed” his commands and the alliance was too dumb to figure it out and he still had direct contact with Anderson, I figure he could convince Kaidan to have a drink with him. He probably accidentally let it slip and said that he wouldn’t say more and to just “ask Shepard”

Thane- If Thane is still alive in the play through it’s mentioned that he and Kaidan met in the hospital and while talking he probably let it slip and Shepard and Garrus hooked up but refused to say more once he saw the look on Kaidan’s face, knowing that he misspoke.

Any other answer kind of doesn’t make sense as to who snitched to Kaidan. Like it would take several convoluted reasons to explain to me why Urdnot Wrex, Kasumi, Grunt, Miranda, Jacob or whoever would go out of their own way to tell Kaidan that Shepard moved on like a day after they broke up but whatever

Their Eternity

Universe : Mass Effect Trilogy.

Pairing : Female Shepard / Liara T’Soni.

Summary : Just after the reaper defeat, Shepard’s body is found. She is alive, but the path of healing is hard. Tranksfully Liara is here to help, and carry her. And, how it could go wrong now the reaper are dead ?

Warnings : smut in futur chapters, injuries, PTSD, violence, gun.

Chapter 1 : Alive.

Warnings : injuries, hospital, comatose.

The nil. The black silence surronding her is deafening, too heavy. Is that it ? Death ? It’s not that bad. Peace. It’s been too long since she has experienced it. Has she ever knew that calm before ? No. Until now all was chaos, cries, suffering and war. Right now all of it is over ! Finally ! But something is missing in this tranquility. A pair of piercing blue eyes embracing her soul. A mind touching her own, a heart melting with her pulse, a voice calming her cries. A smell enchanting all her senses. A lover who is her everything. Her lover. Her world. Liara.

Alive… It’s painful to be alive, she thinks. Maybe maybe it’s better not to be. This agony is unbearrable, it would be worth it if…

« By the Goddess Shepard ! »

There it is. The voice that she is craving for. Her voice. Liara… but she is still not here, or too far to be reach. She wants to touch her, even if all she can see is black, all she can touch is the ashes beyond her fingers, or what it left of her fingers. She is hearing them tough. The cries of her lover.

« Please don’t go ! Stay with me, be strong my love ! I need you… »

I am here, She wants to say. I am here, I don’t leave you and I won’t leave you. I am

alive.

God yes she is in too much pain to be dead for sure.

« Doctor Tsoni, you have to stay away, we need to operate her… please let us do our job. »

« It’s okay Liara. They got her… we have found her. She is here. They got her. »

« I don’t know if I can Garrus… i can’t stand losing her again. »

« I know… »

And then again, the blackout.

It’s a constant bip that wakes her up. The pain is still here, less virulant, but still irrading her whole being. Then she feels it, fingers interlaced with hers. Slowly, she opens her eyes. Blinded with the bright light she doesn’t discern where she is first, however she saw the blue figure across the white of the walls.

« Shepard ! ��

« Liara… » she says with a sore voice as she tries to reach her lover’s cheek with her finger, but she can’t move, she is too weak.

« Shhh don’t move my love. You are still badly wounded. »

« What… what happened. The reaper ? Are they ? »

« You did it honey. They are gone. You did it. You won.»

Liara squeezes her hand, her eyes are wet with tears. Happy tears. But Shepard reads more in them : fear, sadness, relief, love. All these emotions the asari went through during past hours, days, months ? For how long has she been in comatose ? She doesn’t know. Shepard can say she is badly injured. The concern she has also read in Liara’s eyes says enough.

« How bad is it ? » she dares do ask.

Liara doesn’t answer first, she seems to hesitate, or to compose herself maybe. But the commandant deserves to know and Liara must think the same because she then tells : « You’ve been burnt. All of your body was calcined, thanksfully the surgery did well. But… until you are up, we don’t know if you can walk again. Your spinal column has been injured…The doctors aren’t sure. »

Shepard process the terrible information. Is that why she is unable to move her hand ? What will she become if she can’t…

Liara caresses her cheek with her thumb.

« It will be okay I promise… we will get through this together. You are a hero. My hero. You will win this battle too. »

Shepard looks at her. God ! how much she loves Liara ! Her soulmate. Her whole universe. She is her rock. She always manages to comfort her to support her. She is indredible. Even in the most dark of the darkness she is the light that guides her soul and heart. How can she be so lucky ?

«  I know i will win. You know why ? »

« Because you are my stubborn sexy commander ? »

The human chuccles. : «  Well sexy… not with all the scars. » Then she looks at her bondmate in her eyes to say : « No, because you are with me. The love of my life. I want to be with you. I want to cherish you, marry you, and have plenty of blue babbies with you and… »

She is cut by Liara’lips on hers. Their kiss is soft but passionate. The asari puts all her sadness all the pain she has been through, all the anger she felt against this world which can’t let her lover alone and in peace, which lets Shepard get hurt, get almost killed again, wich has almost take her away from her again. She puts all her love in that kiss, all her joy to have Shepard at her sides. Then, when they can’t breathe anymore, they separate, but still have their forhead together, eyes close.

« I thought you were dead. »

« I know… but I’m here. I won’t leave you. »

« I remember you promised that before. » says Liara with a poor smile.

« And ? I didn’t leave you, did I ? »

« you’re right. You came back the first time. »

The door opens and few people enter in the bright room. Shepard hears them before she sees them. The strong path of a Krogan, and a breath throug a Quarian mask.

« Shepard ! You are awake ! » says the technicist. « I knew you would make it ! »

« You did better than a Krogan would do ! And that’s a thing ! » Wrex chuckles as he punches gently shepard’s shoulder, althought she winces.

« Careful Wrex ! » Says Liara, putting a protecting hand on her lover’s arms, as if it could stop the pain. If she would be honest, the commander thinks it helped. « She is still weak. »

« Nosense ! » replies the Krogan « Shepard will never be weak. Her strenght is so present that she could be a krogan! »

« Yeah, but I think she would be prettier as a krogan. » remarks Garrus « with all the scars you got, Shepard, you could have many suitors on Tutchenka. »

The commander laughs a little, coughs, winced and then says : « Ladies love scars. Do I look so bad ? »

« Not as bad as usual. » responds the Turrian with a smirk. That’s what she has answered him, when he has been shot on Omega.

« You’ll always be my beautiful commander. » says Liara with a loving smile. « And it’s true : ladies love scars and I love you. »

« I love you too Liara. »

They sink into each other’s eyes perfectly, the green and the blue. The water and the tree. Liara was her ocean of harmony, of peace and love. Shepard was Liara ´s bark. They could spend eternity there, in each other’s soul. How bad the commander wanted to embrace eternity with the asari right now…

« I think we should let Shepard rest. » declares Tali with a smile in her voice. She seems to be far away from the space Liara and her have created, the commander don’t even catch the words, she is too blissed by her lover’s eyes. She doesn’t even see the others leave the room. Then she closes her eyes as the Asari caresses her face.

« Rest my love. I am watching you. You are going to get through this. WE are going to get you through this, I promise. »

And Shepard believes her. Nothing bad could happen, in her boundmatés embrace.

I have now modded XCom 2 to basically be a KOTOR game. However, I didn't want to leave the Mass Effect voice packs behind. So I added a team of four Twi'Lek mercenaries to the Star Wars (personal head)canon.

The game also created the proper bondings:

TIL that if you don't romance Garrus or Tali during ME2 they end up together in ME3 and I'm considering replaying ME2 just so that this happens on my ME3 (where I'm romancing Garrus... PLUS I'm also missing Liara... I CANT CHOOSE, I LOVE ALL OF THEM)

Some things about my Male!Shep, Mackenzie Shepard.

- He's a bit of a hard ass, but seeing your parents and entire colony slaughtered will do that to you.

- It takes a while for him to open up to people, which is why he's always hesitant when people approach him to join his crew. He doesn't like change when it comes to his crew, because he has a system. You don't fuck with his system. It took him forever just to get used to Ashley, Liara, Garrus, Wrex and Tali on the ship in ME1, so when he did finally get used to them and then found himself thrown into a new crew in ME2, with most of his old crew refusing to come back, he immediately clung to Garrus and Tali because he needed at least a fraction of the familiarity he used to have or else he'd lose it.

- The only time he latched onto a new crewmate quickly, was with Grunt.

- Is gay but doesn't talk about it openly, so people just seem to automatically assume that he's straight. The only one who knew for a while was Anderson. No one else found out until waaay later, and when asked why he never said anything, he just shrugged and said "I thought you guys knew." because of how uncomfortable he got whenever a woman clung to him too much or when they had to go to strip clubs where there were only women.

- Developed a crush on Kaidan but never made a move on him because he didn't want to potentially ruin their friendship by confessing.

- Only a few people have the privilege to call him Mack. Joker lost that privilege immediately when he called him "Mack Daddy." The only people who he gives privilege to call him Mack are:

> Anderson. He looks up to him so much, and they have such a father/son relationship that Mack feels more comfortable when Anderson calls him Mack, especially in stressful situations, because it makes him feel grounded when his mind is racing a mile a minute.

> Kaidan,because it was one of the ways he felt he could be intimate with Kaidan without having to confess his feelings. After the spat on Horizon, Kaidan still never lost that privilege but during ME3, it kind of hurt him when Kaidan started referring to him as just "Shepard" again. The relief he felt when they were back into 'Mack' territory lifted an entire weight off of his shoulders, since, like Anderson, it makes him more comfortable when Kaidan calls him Mack, because it makes him feel grounded. He holds Kaidan near and dear to his heart, like Anderson so hearing Kaidan's voice call him a nickname he uses to show how close he is to someone, keeps him steady

> Liara earned this privilege after she helped take down Matriarch Benezia but quickly lost it when he found out that she gave his body to Cerberus and when she became a much darker person. His trust in her diminished, despite her reasons. He'd rather be dead than be stuck as a Cerberus pawn. She regained some of his trust back in ME3 but can only call him "Mack" in private.

> Garrus earned the privilege to call him Mack after he spared the solarian doctor who was harvesting organs. Granted, he ended up dying anyways but Mack thought that it was really noble of him to not give into blind anger, so Garrus earned the right to call him Mack and continued to sp so throughout the series.

> Wrex earned the right to call him Mack when he stood down on Virmire. Like with Garrus, Mack thought that it was really noble of him to stand down and go along with him, even though Saren might have had a key component to curing the genophage.

> Tali earned the right to call him Mack in ME2 after she was exiled from the Flotilla and changed her name to Vas Normandy.

> Jack earned the right to call him Mack because he thought that she had guts and he liked that. Plus, she called him Mack anyways, even when he corrected her to call her Shepard. Plus, she thought it was funny to say "Team Jack and Mack Attack" whenever she tagged along for missions.

> Grunt didn't really do anything to earn the right to call him Mack, he just thought that "Mack" would be easier for him to remember when he emerged from his metal womb.
