"Somebody That I Used to Know" is a song written, produced and performed by Australian musician and singer Gotye, featuring vocals from New Zealand singer Kimbra. The song samples Luiz Bonfá's 1967 instrumental song "Seville", with additional instrumentations of beats and a xylophone playing a melody based on "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep". The song was released in Australia and New Zealand on 5 July 2011 as the second single from Gotye's third studio album, Making Mirrors (2011). It was released in December 2011 in the UK, and 20 January 2012 in Ireland and the US.

But not now, you couldnt pass this up. So you said yes. And the rest is history.

They wanted to make you better at tennis ( they really just wanted to have you to themeselves). You gave them something they both needed. Giving art something perfect to worship, a star. And tashi, a lover and a winner.

They worshiped you, giving you anything and everything you wanted. Making sure their stargirl was always fed and never left hungry. To the victors go the spoils. Shopping sprees, fucking you till you couldnt handle it, even then giving you more. More, more, more, always more, what you deserved.

Controling your each and every move, and you let them. You were really the one in control. Only letting them think they were to boost their ego. Letting them do whatever they wanted, aslong as you got what you wanted.

Now you're here. Art between your legs, drinking in everything you have to give him. Tashi next to you, making sure you'll make her proud at your match tomorrow.

Jimmy was being really weird this season, like more weird then usual... He was fine at the beginning of the last session but then he began being distant for some reason.

You had at first decided to ignore it and told Jimmy to get some cows and sheeps while you built the base but he just... took ages. Like, you know cows can be difficult but that had to be a record of some kind for amount of time wasted to get mobs.

Normally you would force him to spit it out or taunt him until he stopped being mopey but you really didn't need him getting offended now that you are forced by the universe to be teamed...soo you had a better idea.

Joel: We should go get horns I think.

Jimmy: Wait, you really think so?

Joel: Well, yeah, almost everyone got one last session except for us... Plus, It's no fun making fun of you not having one if I also don't have one.

Jimmy: Wait, do you know how to get one?!

Joel: Of course I do. First we need some goats.

Pales - Day 142

Race: Vile Alignment: Dark-Law December 10th, 2024

As most of us are aware, Roman mythology is quite the amalgamation of other mythologies throughout the world; many of the most famous gods are simply, for lack of a better word, remixes on other mythologies, such as Saturn for Chronos or Jupiter for Zeus, both hailing from Greek myth. However, the exact origins of some of these gods can be rather hard to parse, and today's Demon of the Day is one of those such gods- an ambiguous deity in many respects, including gender. We're going to be talking about Pales, the ancient Roman deity who was the herald of livestock and still remains a mysterious force to this day.

Much about Pales is unknown, even down to its gender- many sources claim it to be female, others male, and some even claim it to be a mix of the two (perhaps making it intersex? I don't like the insinuation that being of two sexes was a foreign concept to the ancient Romans, but we can't really revive them to ask.) Still, they did seem to be a rather important figure of worship, represented by the head of a donkey, and they were worshipped from Rome to, allegedly, North Africa. I can't back this up fully, but given that the in-game description describes them as such, I can't really prove or disprove it? Still, this may tie in to the idea that the land of Palestine may have had its name originate from this god, though this is a highly disputed claim in many circles.

Past their ambiguity in many senses, though, Pales was a highly important god who ruled over a few major aspects of life, back in the day: they kept watch over and were the patron of livestock and flocks of animals, being literally a shepherd god. They were celebrated in a festival called the Parilia, carried out every April 21st, which was held to celebrate the life of livestock and also to clean and purify any areas polluted by the livestock in question. The festival would have, traditionally, quite a few sacrifices in the form of the blood of a horse or a sheep, though that solemn atmosphere would fall away after the main festivities were over and would instead fall away into a jovial one, ending in an eventual feast.

Overall, though, not much is known about this god, and I can't comment on much either. In SMT, though, the motif they represent- a head of a donkey- is part of a rather intriguing design, being a donkey's head planted atop the rest of its body being dried bones. The moon atop its forehead might symbolize something, but for the life of me I can't think of what. I'm quite fond of the design, though, and I'm also incredibly baffled as to why it's called Baphomet in SMT IV. In what world? Baphomet is a goat! That's an ASS! Probably just a translation mistake, so whatever...
